16% x 80 sec = what?
92.8. 12.8 sec
A speed decrease is not the same thing as a time increase. You need to put 80 charges into a generator to fully repair it, at a rate of 0.86 charges per second (or 0.8 on the PTB). So that's 80/0.84 = 95.24 (approximately) and 80/0.8 = 100.

It’s Thana. It’s never been god tier. It’s 12.8 sec with all 4 injured as is. It’s now 16 sec. 80 + 16 = 96 sec. I’m not sure what you were hoping for....an extra 20 sec per hit?
No, it's about 15 seconds with all 4 injured as it is now and 20 seconds as it is in the PTB.

20% slowdown only translate to 16 seconds longer when repairing a gen which is the same time it takes to heal. I don't think that's enough incentive for survivors to heal over doing gens. If Thana was buffed to 6% the max slowdown would be longer than heal time which would make survivors want to heal against Thana.
20 seconds, not 16. Generators take 80 charges, you're repairing at 0.8 charges per second. 80/0.8=100.

Call me crazy, but I think this might be a clickbait joke thread.

saying just leave is dumb af, i don't play like that, i want the team out and i want more points, you guys might be selfish and leave asap but i'm a team player
You can't always get what you want. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
You can either leave and be guaranteed your current points, while leaving your teammates to fend for themselves, or you can stay and risk the escape points for the possibility of getting more. If you stay, however, you can't complain that you lost the gamble - that's just how it works.
-
Just leave. Why are you sticking around?

That sounds like a "cry more" situation to me.
Yeah, but I was just pointing out that even bug fixes - the thing everyone should want because they increase the quality and stability of the game - are complained about.

A mil on Steam? Had no idea. Wonder how many are still active, and the numbers on the other platforms. I feel us Xboxers are a tiny community compared to the whole.
One million was actually some time ago. I wanna say late 2018, but I'm not 100% sure.

Is it possible you overestimate this games fanbase?
Over a million owners on Steam alone. I don't think I am.
@LittilAvindar said:
Absolutely - it's called fixing bugs.
Players have complained about bug fixes before because they were fixes to things they were used to exploiting.

Apologies well the first one is better than the second imo but I'd still prefer just save a totem for a later heal.
Well, there's a third I like, but felt was unbalanced: it's similar to the token system, but one heal only consumes one token.

It’s not a suggestion it’s a discussion
It was clearly a suggestion aimed at the developers, not a discussion with other forumgoers/players. The title is literally "Devs for the love of the entity pls let console player use mouse and keyboard".

It was moved, not closed. Specifically, moved here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/suggestions
That's where suggestions should be posted.

An interesting idea, though I think the likelihood of BHVR being able to code anything as complex as AI-controlled decoys into the game is extremely slim (they haven't even gotten around to bringing Mobile DBD's perk-preview for Survivor lobbies; or the AI-bot replacements for DC characters yet).
Still, an interesting idea if this were any other game with a less spaghetti'd mess of coding.
I'm hopeful they'll add bots, eventually. That's why I took the time to really flesh out this suggestion. I think it'd be a nice chapter to accompany the bot system, as a way to "show off" what they can do.

@CashelP14 said:
Personally I'd prefer the current one. I don't mind the first part but definitely would hate the second part.
I use inner strength but no other healing item/perk. I'd find it extremely frustrating to jump out of a locker and not get the full heal. If the speed was increased that's less likely to happen but I'd rather save those totems for my next heal instead.
Those are not two parts of the same suggestion, but rather two different rework suggestions.

@Milo said:

But those are straight nerfs.
I take it the first one wasn't clear: at some point, the time you need to spend in a locker will be shorter than with the perk as it is now. The second one is not my favorite, but I think being able to get a partial heal is still better than getting no heal because you need to leave the locker ASAP before the killer finds you.
-
Kind of a necro, but I added teachable perks to the OP.
-
@RepostRiposte said:
Why out of all the terrible/unbalanced perks in the game does Inner Strength need a rework? I think it's a fine perk as is.
I didn't say it needed one, I just felt like suggesting one because I think the perk could be better. I've also suggested a rework to DS in the past, as well as a whole new killer.
-
I'm no good with words, so I'll just say I'm sorry for everyone's loss, particularly @GoodBoyKaru, and ######### cancer.
-
Yes, there are plans to reduce the grind. Getting rid of perk tiers (or just one tier) is the most logical step to do so, IMO.
-
They wouldn't believe it. They'd think it was just a new trial from the Entity and continue to try to hook everyone.
-
No. It's not possible to always please even just 2 people, how are you going to please millions?
-
@GoodLookinCookin said:
I feel like they should increase the hook timer to 90 sec per phase instead of the what feels shorter 60 sec phases. It would punish campers harder and give the hooked survivor a chance in the end (maybe).
Then they would have to increase generator repair times to 120 seconds, which nobody wants.
-
Plague and Trapper.
Plague because if I cleanse against her and my teammates can't dodge her corrupted purge, we're all #########.
Trapper because I forget to look down for traps and end up getting caught.
-
L4D2 zombie, since we already have the
SpitterPlague. -
Don't play killer for a few months, wait until you drop enough in rank so that the survivors are less likely to disconnect. Then bring an Ebony Mori. GGEZ.
-
I'm glad to see more people recognize that the devs get way too much ######### from the community. I'm baffled they haven't just abandoned the game altogether and moved on to better things.

No one is thinking “oh im a bad boy for dc”ing” when they get a 15 min ban. No they just go make food, take the dog out or go play 1 of the millions of other video games
As long as they're not ruining other people's trials, I'm cool with it.
-
3 was already tried in a few forms, all of which were abused by the survivors. Punishing the killers for being close to the hook will not work. The rest of your ideas might work, though.
-
This is a variant of a build I want to try, but haven't unlocked all the necessary perks yet:
- Inner Strength
- Poised
- Sprint Burst
- Urban Evasion
It's still a stealth build, but with a "gen jockey" twist. It'll probably need some fine-tuning.
-
Dark Sense, Inner Strength, Kindred, Urban Evasion. It's a stealth build, so don't get too uppity in the killer's face unless you can juke well and without perks geared toward that goal.
-
For the same reason they dislike "tunneling" (i.e.: being chased), despite claiming the chase is the fun part: many people want the illusion of danger, without any real danger.

@Almo Not responding to this is basically the same as admitting you know there's nothing you can say to justify this.
@Peanits @not_Queen We deserve a response.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1643994#Comment_1643994
The "here we go" moment started with Almo's post. He walked RIGHT into that trap. They even built the trap themselves. It's kind of like setting a mouse trap and immediately stepping in it.
Dollars to donuts they won't have it in them to respond in a way that doesn't completely dodge the point.
Not responding is just not responding. Saying we (forum users) engaged in bad faith by setting "traps" just guarantees we'll get fewer responses from now on, because they'll assume we're being dishonest about our intentions.
-
Dark Sense, probably. It's a very underrated perk.
-
Report, ignore, move on.
-
Sorta, but instead of punishing the killer it injures and reveals the guy who didn't hook you safely if you get hit within 10 seconds of being unhooked.

Totally fair. Late at night, maybe after a few drinks, the only thing I'd manage to hit is my television with my PS4 controller 🤫
I just abhor QTEs. I got one of the latest Tomb Raider games for free and I uninstalled it before finishing the tutorial because of how annoying they are. Either give me control over my character's actions or let me watch a cutscene, but don't pretend a QTE is in any way the same thing as gameplay.
EDIT: To be clear, that last sentence is aimed at developers like the guys who made Tomb Raider, who just love to stuff their games full of QTEs, not you.

I'd like to think there is.
Personal achievement, yes. You don't need Steam or whatever is on mobile to tell you that you achieved something.

@Jyn_Mojito said:
Add a fear/panic meter mechanic. Clock Tower 3 had this, and if your meter tipped over a point you would lose control of the character.
So something similar- having your panic meter fill based on certain actions like being exposed to TR, being in chase, being injured for x number of seconds before healing. It would be interesting because it would FORCE survivors to have to change their approach depending on their meter level.
Something else that could add tension is add quick time events to things like opening chests or destroying totems. Make EVERY action have a consequence. Hit the wrong button while trying to open a chest? Damage the item inside or injure yourself + ADD to that panic meter!
No QTEs, please. Skill checks are all the QTEs I can take.
-
- Lock survivors' POV when they're interacting with something (opening exit gates, healing, repairing gens, that sort of thing).
- Heavily nerf second-chance perks.
-
Depends on who you ask. I've been called a camper because I hooked a survivor, ran a lap around the map without seeing anyone, extrapolated they were going for a rescue, and grabbed the unhooker at the last second.
-
I know you asked not to reply here, but I feel I should let you know that the English wiki occasionally changes perk descriptions when placing them on the wiki, if they feel it makes them easier to understand, so you shouldn't compare the descriptions on the wiki with the Italian translations.
-
Less tolerance for toxicity and a better report system.
-
Cleanse totems to prevent NOED. Rush gens to escape against a face camper. I don't see what the issue with the Mori is if, as you claim, she never used it.

I wasn't sure how long flashlight blinds lasted, thank you. It still doesn't seem quite worth the trade off to me (as an ultra rare item) to have a blind last 0.5 seconds longer while also reducing your flashlight life by 12%.
Maybe it's something I have to play around with (I am newer to trying to use flashlights) but my flashlight fiend friends don't seem to care for OB and ALWAYS opt for battery add ons instead. It's not a BAD add on, per se, just doesn't seem to fit the rarity anymore to me. BNP is much more fitting as an Ultra Rare even after it's severe (and justified) nerf IMO
I'm not sure either, I'm just estimating.
How many blinds can you realistically get from a single flashlight, though?

On the topic of the Odd Bulb nerf, I feel like it's completely pointless to take an OB on a flashlight. All it does is waste 12% more of your flashlight while using, and if you get the blind it only blinds for 25% longer. Doesn't seem worth the trade off when in many cases you are able to double blind and prolong the blind duration just as well (unless I misunderstand how it works).
7k BPs cost, 12% reduction in battery life as a trade off for 25% longer blinds, and one of only two ultra rare items for survivors. I'm not sold on that tbh LOL
If I'm not mistaken, a flashlight blind lasts for 2 seconds. 25% more is an additional half a second, which, if you know DbD, is a lot.

Maybe Broad-Minded or Open-Minded would be better words to use in this case? It's true enough that pure neutrality isn't possible as everyone has some form of bias.
You'd run into a similar problem as the one I mentioned. Namely, people feel that being "open minded" means you must consider every opinion and/or treat them all as equally valid, no matter how absurd and/or downright wrong they are. So if you were to disregard someone who said survivors should be able to kill the killer, for example, you'd be called "close minded".
