Oh I see, its just I have not seen anyone banned and claim this is the reason for it being so. So thats the reason.
Yes, that's the reason. The only bans that show up on profiles (on Steam, at least) regardless of the game are permanent bans, and those never show a reason for them either. You literally cannot know when someone is temporarily banned nor why unless they tell you.

As said before, I HAVE NEVER SEEN A BAN IN GAME FOR THIS REASON.
Now I am getting annoyed at people not reading my comments, so for this thread I will no longer be repeating myself.
If you say something and I don't reply if for this very reason of me not repeating myself.
And I'm saying you can't see temporary bans at all, so whether you've seen one for this or not is irrelevant because you can't see any to begin with.

I strongly disagree, I think you are lying at this rate.
I believe its much more likely he got banned for cheating to some level.
Lets assume I grant you your point however, in that case I still think this is not normal at all as I have never seen anyone banned for this and said previously because its super common. You would have to do something serious in ways of verbal abuse.
Temporary bans don't show up on people's profiles, so how would you know the difference?
-

Why would that be surprising at all?
Only thing I am surprised about is companies like this one pretending that anyone cares about what they think is offensive or not.
Either or, the only place I know you can receive any ban for this stuff would be the discord or forums and even then I have never seen in game bans for this and I really doubt its common to get banned for this at all.
You're free not to believe that bans for this are common just as you are free to not care about the rules of the game. However, they do ban people for this, and most people do care about the rules.

Windows are not magic. A window is basically a hole in a wall, you can and should be hit if you're near the window (for example, when you just finished vaulting it) and the killer swings through it. Latency also adds to the weirdness, particularly with pallets, where killers shouldn't be able to hit you if you're standing on the opposite side.
Killers teleporting to the other side of pallets, as in one of the clips you linked to, is just a bug, plain and simple. Hitboxes don't have anything to do with that.
-
If they listened to all the players? Well, I think Sir Humphrey provides the right analogy for why that's a bad idea...

Tbh I was expecting Nea to be the first LGBT survivor (I don't mean to enforce stereotypes but come on, just look at her) but so far there hasn't been any evidence of her being so. Other than that I can't really decide who I would think was LGBT. Maybe Zarina? None of them seem to have any obvious tells about their sexuality.
None of them seem to have any obvious tells about their sexuality.
Because there are none (besides actual displays of sexual attraction); there are only stereotypes.

You're reading me wrong as well.
This doesn't cost jack ######### to them. They're a multi-million dollar company that could do whatever the hell they want, and they'd rather make more money in the short-term than have player longevity in the long-term.
So who paid for the employees' salaries? Because I guarantee you they didn't work for free. Hell, the guy who made a Trapper mask for free a while ago got paid for it.

In the real world, yes. But when talking about creating cosmetics using community art, or just repeating an event that was successful (like just repeating the 2018 Hallowed Blight event with a few spicy cosmetics) online? They aren't physical, and it doesn't cost jack unless you count time. They don't hire employees to just make events, it's a courtesy, so I'm not counting them as such.
Whether they hire employees to make events or not, the ones who have already been hired are still getting paid a salary, which is where the "costs money" comes in.
There are no free lunches.
-
@RockoRango said:

That's an extremely stupid way to look at it. These events don't cost jack to make other than time, and I don't count courtesy events towards people's salaries. The difference between you and I is that I'm not a suck-up to a company that is likely worth nearly $1B at this point.
So you're disregarding the actual costs (salaries) and then saying that besides the costs you disregarded, things don't cost anything. Do I have that right?
-
@RockoRango said:

Releasing things for free doesn't use up resources, and is therefore not a loss. It's only a loss if they look at it from the company standpoint: "If we're not selling it, we're losing money."
We paid for the game, and we expect to be treated more like a community than trash that will eat up anything.
Creating things uses resources and costs money.

It's common because it's 4%.
Every survivor can attempt 3 times. 3 x 4 = 12% for 4 survivors so 48%. Basically, if everyone attempts to kobe every second match someone will do it.
Let alone luck offerings, newly buffed slippery meat, up the ante, deliverance... Also, some archive challenges encourage people to bring those perks so they can kobe.
That's not how probability works.

You know how many times hatch is spawned and how easy it is to look for it? Simple just slug the last survivor or keep an eye out or just don't care. Killers have hatch priority so its not that hard to prevent the free escape.
Yeah, but that's not the situation I was talking about. I also didn't say how easy or difficult it'd be to prevent it. I just said that if the last survivor finds the hatch before the killer, that survivor gets a free escape, then added that if the last few survivors find the hatch and a key, they also get a free escape. You're talking about a different scenario altogether.
-
When you think you have no alternative.
I like to think of resources like pallets, toolboxes, medkits, etc., as a "put on your oxygen mask first" kind of thing. Sure, it sucks to lose a powerful resource, but if that can keep the killer from getting a hook and/or kill, it's worth it. You can't help anyone if you're hooked, but if you're even the first person to be hooked, at least 2 survivors will have stopped working on gen progression: you and your rescuer.
So, use your own judgement, and don't let other people shame you even if you were wrong. Being wrong is part of the learning process. ######### up and recognizing where you ######### up and why is how you improve as a player.

Yep i think it was either first or 2nd hook were infinite or so greatly extended it might as well have been infinite.
It got removed due to survivors constantly forcing killers to defend hooks and lose due to anti camp.
Or
Giving up all pressure they had to try to chase someone who would force them to eat a god pallet and lose the game anyways(Remember it was at the time before the multiple healing nerfs we will make it so if they aren't camping that hook the person being unhooked gets instant healed).
Two mechanics were tested. One where the sacrificial speed was slowed if the killer was nearby, another where the first sacrificial stage lasted forever. Both were abject failures in ways that can't be fixed by simple "if" statements, despite what some people believe.

I obviously did. But they have the servers, they have the counter, so I'm going to believe the stats. I'm seeing so many posts of "too many variables" and "that doesn't look right" but after blight release, the stats look 100% legit. I survive 1 every 10 matches at this point due to camping, tunneling, and 1-hook tunneling mori. The quality of gameplay has dropped due to killer toxicity.
On the other hand, Peanits literally said the stats are just regarding trials that advanced the tome, which are automatically unusable.
-
If you do that, you just gave the killer a way to know when someone is near the hook. No more "survivor happened to be nearby and is waiting for the killer to leave before unhooking". And I guarantee you that survivors would be within a 32 meter radius within 30 seconds.
-
Red Herring is a powerful perk, but I think it needs one buff to be perfect: to allow you to use it with a button press, as opposed to the instant you get into a locker.

The wiki is a mess, so don’t trust everything you read their.
M&A is +8m in a chase, and -8m out of a chase. So on a 32m TR killer (with nothing else equipped that alters TR), M&A will make their TR 24m when not chasing someone, and jumps up to 40m when chasing someone.
That point on the wiki is saying how it's programmed.
If you think the wiki is a mess or not reliable, you're free to help contribute to it. Hell, point out flaws on talk pages.

Most survivors I see, myself included, don't carry items into trials. Regardless, if a penalty can be avoided by just not taking items, it's pretty much pointless.
The idea of allowing survivors to reconnect is just easily abusable, especially when the first penalty is basically irrelevant. For example, a survivor who's never been hooked DCs mid-trial with Deliverance* ready. They can then rejoin at any point to completely screw with the killer's momentum.
*I'm assuming that by "hook perks" you mean perks like DS, BT, and Kindred, as opposed to perks like Deliverance and Breakdown.
It can also go wrong in a number of different ways. What if a DCer reconnects just as the last survivor is being taken by the Entity? The trial is still going on, technically, so should they be forced to rejoin only to die immediately afterward? If not, at what point is it considered an unwinnable trial, so they're not forced to rejoin, and what's to stop them from DCing at that point and avoid any real penalty altogether?
-
No, I take it as a sign that the Entity has a sick sense of humor.

You actually get feedback for that, so it isn't really comparable.
Do you, though? Last time I reported an on-going crime, I just saw the cops go toward the area and interact with the suspects. Never heard from them again.

What would be the point of feedback given that the only visible action is a game ban and that people would just claim the messages were fake?

Yeah but the people who actually have legitimate connection issues should be punished to be in a queue with intentional DC'rs?
Absolutely, yes. If you play an online game like DbD, where you're screwing over every other player who's playing with/against you if DC, despite knowing you have a bad connection that can and will cause you to DC constantly, you should be prevented from ruining other people's trials.
A stable internet connection is as much of a requirement for online gaming as any piece of hardware.

Hits are being worked on. That’s all we have about them.
Wiggling is supposed to force the Killer to take you to a non-basement hook, not help you escape.
Pretty much everyone has a problem with the struggle mechanic. The devs insist that it’s fine though. It gets even worse for console players due to lack of buttons. We don’t have a mouse wheel to remap the button to.
Daily challenges are supposed to encourage you to play characters that you don’t normally play. Maybe you haven’t been playing enough Killer recently (according to the game)?

Nah, this is an issue of numbers. There are just more killer dailies than there are survivor dailies, which the devs are working on.
Side note, I find it odd that even though killers are "coddled", it seems nobody actually wants to do the dailies, even though they'd be easy (some would say free) BP.

That's absurd. I had to DC twice in one day just last week or two weeks ago because of two unrelated issues (Internet gave out and had a small emergency at home). If you did that, the game would lose every player in about a month.

A) now people just die on hook instead
At least they wasted a bit of the killer's time and a hook. That's something.
B) que times are much worse at night now
I'll take slightly longer queues if it means I actually get to play the game.
C) dbd is not a game that begs people to play it so they just go to another game and forget about it
Good. They weren't playing the game anyway, just ruining it for everyone who wanted to.
D) The core issues are not fixed. Most survivors quit if they’re tunnelled or camped.... lets fix the core issues that make a match completely unbearable, frustrating and annoying.... then punish the people that quit after that.
Most survivors quit if they're found and/or downed first, if they get grabbed from a gen, if the killer is [insert every killer here], and so on. The core issue is not knowing how to lose, which is not something the devs can fix.
STOP REWARDING LOW SKILL KILLERS
Suiciding on the hook and/or DCing is extremely rewarding for campers.

Yes, but there are also players like me who have quit playing the game and refuse to play it again until the game's health drastically improves.
Things like the ridiculously poor optimization, amount of bugs, and still lack of a proper options menu after 4 years is an absolute joke and is utterly unacceptable to me. Bugs I've reported using the appropriate methods over 2 years ago still remain unpatched and some feel deliberately ignored (like all the Nurse bugs). Feels like I care more for the game than its own creators do at times.
So I just gave up supporting it, and won't until BHVR proves me wrong otherwise.
I'd be curious to see what most people's reasons are. I think if BHVR did a survey for people who quit playing the game asking why they stopped playing, and actually took the criticism in such a survey to heart, that the information in it would be invaluable for helping identify some of the biggest problems with the game and getting them fixed.
Unfortunately, when I made a post stating I was quitting the game and why, it got locked in under 2 minutes. So... y'know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
While the game is not dying, it sure as hell could have waaaaaayyy more players (and thus making more money) than it currently does. This game has so much wasted potential right now, and most of that wasted potential are honestly easy fixes.
Assuming you posted your thread in General Discussions, like practically everyone else does, it was likely locked because nobody likes those threads. They always ended up with people insulting each other, etc., so now the policy seems to be to lock them and wish the player well. If you want to provide feedback, there's the Feedback section.
Every game "has so much wasted potential". I don't think I've ever heard that phrase not being used about a game, other than "joke games". Problem is, everyone thinks they have "the answer" to "fixing the game", but they're all different from each other. IMO, these people just want the devs to cater to them, specifically, and make the game the way they want, as opposed to a game the majority of players will like. The numbers speak for themselves: most people like the game as the devs are making it. You and I may disagree with the devs on certain choices, but the numbers are indisputable.

The concept isn't as "Dead on Arrival" as it sounds on face value, but it absolutely cannot be the killer's main strength.
A killer whose power is to imitate a survivor would be terrible and shouldn't even be considered.
A killer whose power is something else entirely, and he just so happens to look like a survivor? That's doable.
Or, since the devs are now going for a main ability used with M2 and then also a special ability with Ctrl, they could make this a special ability. Hell, put it on Legion and give us the killer everyone thought we were going to get.

The peak was 77k, if you look at the graph, the line tends to stay around 50k. Sometimes above, sometimes below, but its been a solid 50k average. The 15k drop has literally been last month when Undying+Ruin became killer meta.
The average, which is displayed in the table below the graph, has never reached 50k. Go ahead and check. You'll also notice there was a spike when the Silent Hill chapter was released and that we're now dropping to pre-SH levels. That's normal.
