That's not "playing immersed", that is literally holding the game hostage. I hope you reported them.
PS: The devs are not going to ban survivors for hiding. Were that in a different situation (say, hatch had spawned and they were looking for a key, or if they were in a 3-gen and wanted the others to die), it would've been the smart thing to do.

Misread "displeasure" as "pleasure". My bad.

As a former Jake main and current Felix main, I feel personally insulted.

Thank the Entity, I thought it was just me who had this problem.

I mean, they're adding a literal human with no changes or scary looking outfit whatsoever. At least Huntress, Myers, Pig and Ghostie look like psychopaths. Other killers do have a disturbing aesthetic like Hag, Plague or Twins. Trickster doesn't even have injuries LOL.
Have you seen psychopaths IRL? They don't look like Huntress, Myers, Pig, or Ghostface. 99% of them look like any normal person.

So it’s pointless in me reporting them? I reported them in game and saved a video. But I don’t want to waste my time uploading it and sending it, if they can’t do anything without their Steam ID.
It's not pointless. Always report hackers.

Theres a video that sows that it was a part of the PTB. Dude, literally, why should anyone discuss the open handed buff when there wasn't one.
There was and they made it so that it's 16m base kit but it also won't stack anymore so there was no 64 meters range. They also said sth like "your welcome, the guy that didnt wanted to run open handed but your swf forced you to do so"
It seems like they just edited it out and didnt mentioned it at all that it was removed. I hate if people are doing this and act like "There was never XYZ, you're just crazy"
Whatever, it seems like Peanits already stated that it will coming later. I loved this change. I like information perks, theyre insanely strong in dbd and increasing the range by 16 meters? Sign me in, dude.
I hope I'm gonna see it again when the next Mid Chapter makes it through the fog.
Thanks.

Maybe calm down a bit? I didn't say anything of the sort. I asked someone who knows more about this stuff than I do and repeated what they had told me, that's all. If you'd scrolled down just two comments, you'd see that someone had already quoted Peanits. One after that, I acknowledge that Peanits said that.

I like information perks too (hell, I used Dark Sense pretty much since launch, long before it was buffed), but there is such a thing as "too strong".

The closest to the "difficulty" that I had, the more "normal" "hard" it was, demo and myers were for me one of those killers that it all depended or balanced per say, like I could either have a blessed game and win in WR pace or play normal or hard.
I still don't understand anything.

I'm on phone, hard to quote; but I found something from Peanits in this thread.

Wow.
I still stand by my assertion: that's going to be OP.

@TheClownIsKing said:
Peanits confirmed that the Open Handed change is definitely coming. But they can’t confirm when.
Where?
-
I asked someone more knowledgeable than I am and he said this never made it to the PTB to begin with, it was just something they thought about doing and ended up not doing. However, there's a very good reason why.
16 meters per instance of Open-Handed would mean that every survivor aura-reading perk would have its range increased by 64 meters if everyone had Open-Handed. To put that number into perspective, a 128 meters radius is map-wide. Now, Kindred 3 has a base range of 16 meters. With Open-Handed, that's 80 meters of always knowing exactly where the killer is when they hook someone.
TL;DR, Open-Handed with a 16-meter buff would be OP.

I think F13th is dead and should stay dead.

DCing gives the killer less points.
So killers take the high road by going AFK and letting survivors finish gens, do totems, etc., but you still complain about them?
-
Windows are big holes in walls, it's logical you can get hit through them. However, the fact that you mentioned pallets makes me think it's a latency issue.

Did it work?

Wow apparently I never noticed it. Do you know how many points you get? Yeah definitely won't be enough to make up for the missing player
600 BP per DC. Killers get 625 BP per DC.
-
- You should never be able to lose BP.
- A punishment doesn't reinforce anything, unless the reinforcement you're looking for is fewer killer players.
- Nobody will ever play by another player's arbitrary rules. Read some guides, so you can play better, and don't expect players to follow your rules.

Thank you :) just posted in there
Thank you for actually reporting it. Too many people just come here to complain and don't give the devs any details, like they're just supposed to guess where the problem is or reproduce it without any details.

I was on the one generator in the bathroom area downstairs on the game. The side where I’m hidden from the doorway (I knew it was a Ghostface and didn’t want to get stalked from the door). I get revealed and assume he’s dropped down and I didn’t see him, but suddenly he runs through the doorway and hits me. He was wearing the glowing clothes btw so he was easy to see too.
I don’t want him nerfed obviously, I ran him around after getting stalked earlier in the game a few times, but this was legitimately through a wall.
Sounds like a bug. Did you make a bug report on the appropriate section?
-
You sure he wasn't just leaning around the wall or at one of those weird angles where your third-person camera angle prevents you from seeing the killer?

I'm gonna go against the crowd and say that Nurse is not nearly as hard to play as people make it out to be. All it takes is you getting a bit of muscle memory and confidence down (won't take that long if you're already familiar with DbD. Like a week max), and then realise that you're playing a completely different version of DbD. Your power and gameplan is extremely simple. You don't have to care at all about how survivors can use pallets, windows, walls, floors etc because you can go right through them. All you have to think about is where the survivor is. Then it's as simple as blinking to them and hitting them (or waiting out dead hard or whatever)
Until you face a survivor who spent weeks playing the Nurse. Because then, he'll even stun you with pallets.
And yes, I do mean me. Now, that's not to say I'm invincible or perfect (especially because I played her pre-nerf), but the Nurse is not unbeatable. You just have to know her and be better than her player is.

Devs prefer suicide on hook because at least the killer still gets points. It's not like a DC gives killers extra bp too...oh wait (I'm totally not salty that survivors don't get bp if someone DC's but killers do)
Yes, you do. There is an "Abandoned" score event if another survivor DCs.

Always ignore survivors who want to be chased. I actually had one straight-up DC because I wouldn't chase him. It was hilarious.

nurse is 4k hungry, sweats, likely to 4 man slug, doesnt waste a second of barbecue and chilli, immediately goes to the nearest gen being worked on, but isnt that toxic (usually)
spirit: hits you on the hook for no reason and stares at you for 3 seconds, nods when they down you, rubs the fact that they mindgamed you in your face, throws the game just to ruin it, call you trash in your steam profile comment section,
overall, nurse sweats more, but spirit is more toxic.
So Nurse is fine?

BHVR admitted that the first mmr was based on kills and escapes. This right here is why kills are a useless metric for balance.
I'm guessing they said that kills and escapes were included in the MMR calculations, but weren't the only statistics it was based on.

Nurse requires a lot of skill to learn to play and does have counterplay in most situations.
Spirits on the other hand just throw on Stridor and jack up the volume on their headphones (Or even use mixers to amplify the effect of Stridor) and they have zero counterplay. Its crazy how one perk can unbalance a killer so much. But, such is the case with Spirit. :/
If Spirits don't use Stridor I respect them for their skill but if they do then you're basically playing on easy mode on the equivelant of a 4 man SWF.
That's how builds work, you take perks that complement each other and your character. Your best bet is being stealthy, since the Spirit can't see you. Adapt to the killer you're playing.

Nurse is way more annoying to face than any other killer to me. She makes Hag and Spirit look like bottom tiers. Hag has to place traps to tp, and Spirit loses sight. Nurse just blinks through all her problems.
Nurse has to guess when you're behind a LoS blocker. Hag teleports and has her camera locked on to you automatically. Nurse can't blink very far by default, whereas Spirit can cover half the map with a single full charge.
The Nurse requires a different playstyle from both killers and survivors. That's all. Be adaptive.
-
@Aneurysm said:
Does anyone know his max range for throwing?
In theory it's 128 meters (map-wide), but that doesn't take trajectory into account.
-
I don't understand this chart. What do the axes mean?
-
The Nurse is the hardest killer to learn, by far. If you intend to learn how to play her and don't want to lose constantly until you do, then you either need a KYF group to help you out, or wait out a few rank resets until you're back in low yellow ranks. And there's no guarantee you won't lose, even in yellow ranks.

I really don't think it's homophobia, it's just people being reactionary edgelords. That's the issue with the fanbase of DBD; it's a bunch of toxic edgy pseuds who are really not the best people to socialize. That's not to say I'm any better, it's just that this game attracts the worst of the worst.
What's the difference between a homophobe and someone who just spouts homophobia to be "edgy"? None whatsoever, IMO.

I don't think they are all the same. Like, I don't think that doctor is manipulative or disgusting. They are all similar in the other traits tho.
The man who experimented with people's brains using electricity out of sheer curiosity, leaving them hollow shells of their former selves, isn't manipulative or disgusting?
-
I feel annoyed. If I wanted to play KYF, I'd get some people together and play KYF.
-
That's very counter-intuitive, if killers can't also see the number of hook states each survivor has gone through. Hopefully it's just an oversight, perhaps from an earlier version when killers could see each survivor's hook state or something.

Just because I had a few minutes free, I took it upon myself to create a spreadsheet with the percentage of licensed content (characters and chapters+paragraphs) in DbD over time. With the aid of a chart, I learned three things:
- This "recent trend" is not new. It keeps happening over and over again, with multiple original chapters being released after a licensed chapter or paragraph.
- The overall trend has slowed since around chapter 13 (the 16th DLC release that contained characters), but this is also not new, it has happened before.
- The overall trend for licensed characters seems to be reaching "saturation" at around 40%. For licensed chapters it's between 30% and 35%. It's not 50%, but the devs apparently said "no more than 50%", so that counts. "No more than" doesn't mean "50% and not one more percentage point". Note, however, that I'm just eyeballing it.
Chart included below for people to evaluate the data on their own.

To be clear, I didn't create the spreadsheet and chart to crap on you. I thought it would be interesting to see the pattern (if there was one) as well as the overall trend and decided to share the results.

@Thund3rstruck57 said:
@Orion Again, I'm just stating the recent trend since they only recently mentioned their 50% goal (I'm sure that wasn't always the goal). I'm not trying to mislead anyone; I'm just commenting that their recent releases aren't moving them in the direction of their recently stated goal and I'm hoping the next few chapters change that.

@Thund3rstruck57 said:
@Orion Look, can you at least agree that for people who really enjoy licensed chapters, the fact that we've only had 1 in the past year and a half is a bit frustrating?
Sure. I've wanted Candyman since Shape was released. If that's what you wanted to say, then you should've said that instead of posting false (and/or misleading) statistics and bashing the devs with them.
-
@Thund3rstruck57 said:
@Orion Of course an overall trend line would slant upward because the game started with zero licenses...
I'm only referring to chapter releases, which is what's in your OP, though I'm also including paragraphs (all of which are licensed). I am also excluding the original 7 characters (4 survivors and 3 killers).
-
@Thund3rstruck57 said:
@Orion As I stated in my original post, I'm looking at recent trends. In the past year and a half, there has been 1 licensed chapter and 5 original, which is the source of my frustration. I'm saying recently this has become an issue. You even pointed out that they are going in the wrong direction (35% -> 30.4%). That's a trend away from their goal...which was my point. Also, you can't take a past segment of data and say it's "moving" in the right direction. It moved in the right direction back then, but now it's not.
I'm looking at the overall trend, not short-term. I can literally do a chart, insert a trend line, and show that the overall trend is toward their goal, not away from it.
-
I redid the math a little better. There were two licensed survivor paragraphs (DLCs with only one character), and I was also erroneously including the original 4 survivors and 3 killers as chapters. With the math fixed, about 45.5% of all chapters are licensed. That's almost 50%.I did the math again, this time by consulting the wiki properly. 22 chapters+paragraphs in all, of which 8 are licensed. That's 36%. Not 16.7% like you claimed, and definitely moving in the right direction.
-
@Thund3rstruck57 said:
@Orion They're not in the process of achieving that goal though. By releasing so many original chapters compared to licensed chapters, they're actually moving the percentage away from their goal, not towards it. They're essentially running the race in the wrong direction.
Just going by killers, before these three original killers, the percentage was 35%. Now it's a little over 30% (not the 16.7% you claimed). That doesn't even take into account the fact that Ash came on his own.
You also can't look at short-term data and say "well, they're clearly moving in the wrong direction". I could just as easily say they are moving in the right direction by looking at Cannibal, Nightmare, and Pig, and this is just an anomaly. The percentage of licensed chapters is much higher now than it was before. Maybe they skipped a few training days, but they're making progress overall.
EDIT: My percentages count paragraphs as chapters, since the devs have moved beyond that distinction for some reason.
-
You do know that being in the process of achieving a goal is not the same thing as failing that goal, right? If my goal is to run a marathon and, during training, I can only run 10 km, that's not failure, that's progress.
-
Candyman.
