Then pick a different example. Or just focus on the overall message instead of being so pedantic.

2.6.1 dropped very soon after 2.6.0 and contained probably the only hotfix that they could actually push out onto the live build. Still, you complain.

An honest power loss DC is one time. The first time ban is usually 5 min. If you have 4 power loss DCs in 45 min, it's harder to believe it wasnt intentional.
And if it wasn't intentional, you definitely have bigger problems than playing a game.
-
I think it's fine being 3 seconds, since the activation is so easy and risk-free. The radius is also much bigger than it should be (twice the size of the doors, at least, which means it's twice the size it should be) and there are places where it's impossible to avoid even if the killer knows exactly where you are.
I don't know why you want to balance it around the possibility that the killer has Enduring. That'd be like making Saboteur have hooks remain broken for 10 minutes just because the killer might be using Hangman's Trick.

Not a bad idea. We just assume others knew about it, but if it is indeed something with how the lobbies connect players, it may help. I'll write up a more thought out/eloquent post for it. I'll try to find some vid clips of us doing it as well but that may be hard with 400G of (just DBD) video saves on my ps4....lol
I've certainly never heard of it before now. Maybe the devs know about it, maybe they don't, but it never hurts to make sure.

A friend and I found a temp fix. It seems the 3 man lobbies have issues with pairs. So if its 2 friends a 3rd random, and a 4th wont connect, getting the 3rd to leave usually fixes it. Weve been stick for 5 min, asked the random to leave bc it's a bugged lobby, and them immediately get 2 new replacements.
I know its anecdotal, and probably doesnt explain the issue, but it's a pretty consistent workaround from the times weve tried it.
You should report this workaround in the Bug Report forum. Maybe it can help the devs figure out what's wrong.

Actually no it doesn't. Punishing DC's just pushes players away and reduces the population. Only hugely popular games with giant populations can get away with this really.
Instead of punishing DC's they should reward you for not DC'ing. Consecutive completed match bonus for BP and shards would help a lot more than punishing the people that quit. Also incentivizing people to play more fair would prevent the other side from DC'ing as much. Proper matchmaking where you don't get put against players that are way better than you would help too. And this new ranking system is not helping anyone to want to stick around since it can be really frustrating to rank up to the point some people would rather just not play. If you're going to be depipped multiple games in a row because the ranking system is busted, why would you NOT just DC when you're in a losing situation?
If BHVR just started to punish DC's then the game would just bleed players because the core issues are not addressed.
Positive rewards > negative punishments. It's a proven fact in psychology. Give people a reason to stay and tough it out and DC rates will drop without hurting the game.
I know rewards work better than punishments, but sometimes, punishment works better than reward. One such case, IMO, is when people know they're doing something they shouldn't, which is exactly the case with DCing. Then again, maybe I'm just biased, because I just want those people to GTFO my favorite MP game.
-
4 minutes outside peak times, 2 minutes or less during peak times. Seems fine to me. Maybe your region is just underpopulated.
-
Waiting 10 minutes for a lobby is the only thing that's actually about the state of the game. Players DCing is on them, period.
-
I mean, punishing DCs works in literally every other game ever, but sure, it wouldn't work here for some strange reason.

Why ask for kill rate if you think they are irelevant?
Remenber when boting killer where a thing and survivor where extremely happy for the free point and pip until they realised that the vast majority of rank 1 killer where bots and they started to complain because they wheren't having fun after having taken million and million of bloodpoint will feeding the bots
Ah, yes, that was hilarious. I also remember when killers pretended to be bots to get all the survivors in a vulnerable position, then killed them all.

Make the countdown timer start right away, rather than once a generator is repaired. I think that's the only buff she needs, to make RBTs actively dangerous.

Saboteur already extends the sabotage duration. I think you can use a map to track hooks.

Lmfao, I KNEW it would be you of all people that would claim this.
It's a well known fact that in the early days of DBD (back when infinites were still a thing), there was a bug that kept spawning survivors into trials until they were all dead or the game crashed. If you were unlucky enough to not kill the last guy before a new one spawned, you had to go find the new one and hope they wouldn't both struggle on the hook (which they often did, because they knew the game would crash and you'd get nothing).
So yeah, excuse me for pointing out that the exact scenario you claim would support your case actually happened and doesn't support your case.

I didn't say you I meant generally speaking. If survivors throw themselves at the hook like they have been to try and get the benevolent emblem and the killer kills them I don't see why the killer is punished. Like "oh yes Bill I know I could down you right now but your team mates threw themselves at me so I haven't got enough chase points let me follow you around while nodding so that I get chase points so that I can actually pip even though I already have my 4k in the bag."
I meant the part about "god tier killers" being stuck in purple ranks (which is where I've been since the new ranking system). It was a joke anyway, just trying to get people to relax a bit.

Imagine if there was a bug where 5-6 survivors spawn in rather than 4.
Would killers stay in or disconnect? I think we all know the answer, though I'm sure some would pretend otherwise.
There actually used to be a bug just like that, and killers stuck around killing every single survivor who spawned, until the game crashed or they stopped coming. So yes, I think we all know the answer, though I'm sure some would pretend otherwise.

That is exactly how I feel. If you stomp on survivors as killer now you don't get to rank up past purple ranks. It shoves all the amazing god tier killers into the purple ranks and leaves killers that rely on snowballs in red ranks. It is fine to play like that but it is a bit silly that killers that are better at killing end up in lower ranks. The same with survivors you can survive every game but if you don't go back to unhook your team mate even though there is NOED active you aren't gunna pip. It seems stupid.
I'm flattered you think I'm a god tier killer, but really, I'm not that awesome.

Playing as solo you can wait only a bit before went to help a hook surv. This game is about to have fun, not escape. I'd rather die than leave someone hanging. In fact, when I play as killer i could kill everyone, but i left all escape. And always they tell me something like' Best play ever' . I'd rather die than leave
In other words, you admit that kill rates are irrelevant.

By the time that we "settle into our proper ranks with time" it will be rank reset though then we have the same ######### show again. I don't even understand why rank reset is a thing. If there aren't rewards for ranking up then why shake the barrel every month for no reason.
The bad players will drop more than the good ones, so it will help. It's gonna take time, though.
Well, if you think of players as rocks of various sizes, then shaking helps them settle more quickly.
-
Here's the problem: as killer, I've gotten kills I didn't deserve, because survivors fed themselves to me. They've turned what should've been 1k or even 0k games into 2-4k games because they just don't know when to leave.
When people say that survivors are OP, they mean survivors are OP when they're actually playing efficiently, rather than screwing around and getting themselves killed "for the lulz".
-
Five, I think?
@thesuicidefox said:
It's either 5 or 6. What I've been doing is ignoring the ones on the edge of the map and just use the ones close to the middle, and as long as you keep using it to prevent them all from resetting you can force survivors to come to you.
I've been doing the opposite. I ingest corruption from pools that are near repaired generators so when survivors do go to cleanse, they have to travel to the edge of the map and back. Meanwhile, I'm winning a chase somewhere else.

If she has corrupt purge while you finish cleansing, what if she pukes on you mid cleanse or right after you cleanse? That would be really mean.
It could be good for her though, she can really fall behind in loops and sometimes the Plague just vomits over them.
It takes, like, 6 seconds to cleanse, and she has no idea where you are or where the fountains are (no aura). You, on the other hand, can know exactly when and where she got her Corrupted Purge, so you can play around that.

This is the problem with the new ranking system. I got tunnelled all game by a freddy. He hit me once and I looped him the rest of the match. He was relentless on getting only me. I managed to escape and despite doing 3 totems, 1.5 gens I didn't get to pip because the killer didn't injure enough people for anyone to be able to heal. The problem is that the benevolent emblem relies so heavily on the killer doing well that if the killer doesn't do well then it is impossible for you to pip at higher ranks.
Here's the thing: that killer probably depiped, while everyone else probably got a black pip. This means that the killer will drop in rank, while you get to stay there. Everyone is going to settle into their proper ranks with time, but it's gonna take a while.

I’ve escaped plenty of times at R1 with a team as a solo, got hatch more but still. It all depends on the teams efficiency. The problem before was people being at R1 with no business being there. Due to over altruism against juggling killers. Both were boosted. None of them knew how to work through ruin(meaning hit the skill checks), none of them knew how to survey an area to make sure it was truly safe to unhook(and not how is it where you can get a safe unhook , but still create a snowball due to higher mobility killers), they didn’t know stealth, or how to decently run a killer chase. They were pipping up off a single category basically but not even decent at the others. You should be versatile at R1 or red ranks , and they were not.
^This. It's gonna be bumpy for a while, but eventually everyone will settle into their proper ranks.
-
I don't get it, is that a joke?

That's just absurd. I get they want ranking up to become increasingly difficult, but that's too much, IMO.

literally.
i asked them why they didnt implement voice chat when there was a bug where you could literally hear other peoples mic shortly after release and they gave this bs answer of "oh its because it would ruin the ambience".
right, then why was the code already partially in the game?
and why dont they just make it an optional thing for people who dont give a crap about the ambience?
oh, i know! probably because they didnt manage to figure out how to make proper proximity voice chat or just how to make it not sound like crap. it was just 2 much effort.
Or, here's a realistic alternative: they created it, tested it, realized it was no good, and just didn't get rid of it properly.
-
Why do you want to make Enduring worse by removing one of the only things that it's actually good for? Not to mention remove the only soft counter DS has.

In my experience @HeroLives on Ps4, many survivors have stretched the terms camping and tunneling to mean basically anything the killer does.
I got called a "roaming gen camper" for patrolling the gens after a survivor DC'd early in the match.
Was also accused of "tunneling" for downing a survivor in the first chase of a match for which they DC'd.
On PC as well. I got called a camper for searching all the generators as the Doctor, not finding anyone, and going back to the obvious unhook that was about to happen. According to them, I was going to shock them, switch to punishment, and hit them. The hook was on a hill, and the way up was opposite me, roughly 40 m away at the time of the unhook. Apparently, they believe the Doctor can magically teleport.
-
I'm actually gonna use it on the Plague. The playstyle I'm using with her relies on the end-game, so if Fire Up is as good as you say, it might just be the perfect addition to the build.
-
Wait, you've actually used this? And it's good? Damn, I gotta level up the Nightmare.

"The Huntress was also too powerful for the Entity to fully control"
I think it's more due to her primal mind, who get easily lost in frenzy than an excess of power.
The Hillbilly is arguably even more feral, having had no real human contact since the day he was born (I mean, his parents literally walled him in), but he's still well under Her control.
-
What region are you in and what time is it there? It could simply be too early, so not many people are playing.

I think the idea is to do that 99% strat while carrying an instaheal, that way you can use dead hard if needed, heal after its gone, take the hit, then use an instaheal to get even more chances.
It can waste a ton of time if done efficiently, especially when paired with particularly broken loops and balanced landing. two exhaustion perks, i know, but Balanced still reduces landing stumble even when exhausted making some loops much more effective.
Indeed, that is what I have experienced.

That's what I thought at first, but it was several trials in a row (again, besides the odd teabagger or salty sacrifice).

@Yamaoka said:
I tested something today. I let my friend play (inexperienced dbd player) because she wanted to try the new killer. When the survivors won all of them would dance at the gates, hide in the map, do 360s, teabag, point finger etc.
After that game the same survivors joined the lobby so I played instead of my friend and I picked insidious Leatherface and camped at 5 gens nodding my head and messaged all of them "gg ez" after winning in like 3 minutes. NONE of them replied. 2 of them rage quit so I reported them on top of that. Fun times.
What I'm trying to say is: If you camp them and they're nice and say gg they probably think "better be nice or he'll facecamp you all the time".
Also survivors now have no actual free escape perk anymore. The new decisive strike does NOTHING if you run enduring which I do all the time. With enduring it's kinda fun to get d-striked because the stun animation is so fast and short. In fact it wants me to get d-striked. I like the new decisive. Makes tunneling hella fun. Thanks devs! 😂
That's the thing, even those who were initially upset I'd camped relaxed once I'd explained why (gates open, 1-3 survivors around the hook, that sort of thing), because they recognized it was the right tactical decision under those circumstances. Usually, they ignore all reason and just keep being salty.
-
@Asssthetic said:
The perk doesn't even work literally most of the time. You can jump in front of the killer just to not stun them. It might be a network issue but they should not make it an exhaustion perk and increase the radius to buff it
The radius is about twice the size of the locker doors (i.e.: twice as big as it should be).

you can counter it by not tunneling (or wait some time before downing him)
So giving a free escape (which is dumb, if you can get an easy hook you should definitely go for it) or artificially prolonging the chase (which is equally dumb, and for the same reason).
