Not sure, I know he didn't have insidious which probably means he didn't actually plan to camp that game.
Let's assume he didn't have BBQ. Note how, by your own admission, the other survivors were rewarding that action. This is not unusual when a killer camps, and it's exactly why killers camp in the first place. If killers didn't get anything from camping, they wouldn't camp.

That's impossible. Buffinf Survivors will buff SWF, because SWF are made of survivors.
This isn't rocket science.
You cannot get around people working in a coordinated way. It's just how online games work. Killers need to stop whining about SWF and using SWF as a crutch and en excuse for their lack of skills.
It's not impossible. You just have to buff survivors in such a way that they get what SWF already has. This wouldn't affect SWF, but it would affect solo survivors.

Yeah. Then this small minority will quit playing the game. Either way, it's a loss for everyone.
Small minority of survivors won't make a difference. Hell, it'd probably help their queues.

that's still a 96% chance (minus offerings/one time use perks) of not getting it and going stage two on hook no matter what though.
It's 11,5% if you use all three attempts, not including luck offerings or perks. Regardless, this would still be a no.

The whole "banning" for DC is a lie. It doesnt happen. I play on steam and PS4. PS4 if by far the worst. EVERY game is 1 or 2 DC's (easy for killer after that). But, I see them days, weeks, months later still playing, still DCing.
They don't ban. They want the $$$$ from clothing
The threads made by people who were banned for DCing disagree with you, but by all means, pretend that what you see multiple people do once is what they do 100% of the time.

What will happen actually is no killers will play Casual Queue and survivors will quit the game because they can't SWF.
I thought SWF was a minority of players. At least that's what I keep hearing when people complain about the balance issues.

What would you say if I provide you proof that some enforcers that don´t respect rules and even ban people that respect the rules ?
I am done with this stuff... And no people are not getting banned. If they would, this game would be dead by daylight... I am not talking about 1-2 people that randomly get banned probably. I am talking about the whole picture.
Well, I have proof that people are getting banned, so your supposed proof that some people aren't getting permanently banned (because those are the only bans you can see on a person's profile) is irrelevant.
Listen, I have more comments than anyone on this forum, and I can absolutely guarantee that the mods don't silence people whom they disagree with.
I've criticized BHVR, I've criticized the mods, I've criticized the game, I've done everything that people who were "banned unjustly" claimed to have done. The difference? I did it in an adult manner, respectfully.
People don't get banned for one single DC, that is absurd. No game does that, for good reason. And since you can't really know what they do after they DC from your trial, you don't know how often they DC.
-
Anyone deranking is bad for the game, and this has been pointed out repeatedly by multiple people.
-
Every forum has rules. Those rules are not censorship. Arguably, forbidding people from saying certain sentences in the USA (which is where I'm guessing you're from) has more in common with censorship than that.
As for the game, the fact we've had people complain about having been banned for DCing is proof that they are being banned.

Why would people complain about something going their way?

The problem is, if you don't camp or tunnel a generator, all of its progress can be lost just by the killer kicking it. Once a survivor is hooked, that's it, it's indelible.
If Gens couldn't regress, maybe survivors wouldn't tunnel gens.
The punishment is actually really big, but it requires a coordinated, or at least a smart, group of survivors to do it.
If survivors jump on gens when the killer camps, and the one on hook doesn't DC, 3 gens will be done around the time the survivor dies, assuming no other perks mess things up (like Ruin).
Killer has lost half the game already at that point for just one kill.
Of course, this doesn't make the hooked survivor feel any better about it.
Generator regression didn't use to be a thing. Survivors still tunneled and camped generators.

There are two reasons you haven't heard anything about people being banned:
- You're not allowed to discuss bans on the forum.
- Threads discussing bans are swiftly deleted or closed (see above).
However, people do get banned, and it's hilarious to read their threads.

The balance where a role designed for a 4v1 can and should dominate in a 1v1 in the vast majority of cases.
The balance where a player who does everything right and completes their objective shouldn't be punished for it by artificially curbing their power.
The balance where a player whose side has failed repeatedly at everything, despite being given multiple chances, should be made to experience some form of consequence for their repeated failures.
The balance that every other game ever has had - if you do things right, you're rewarded; if you fail, you're punished.
-
- Yes, the gates do spawn too close sometimes, but if they spawn too far, it's a free escape. The devs consider that both situations cancel each other out.
- Opening the gates 5% faster would shave off one second. That's it. If you want, you can take Wake Up or whatever that perk is called that allows you to open gates more quickly.
- Not seeing the gates' aura is pointless. The aura doesn't give the killer any useful information regarding which gate the survivor is at. However, since they're an objective not unlike generators, it makes no sense to have killers able to see the generators but not the gates.
- If the survivor had an alternative besides the hatch when the killer closed it, then closing the hatch would be irrelevant. If anything, it would be actively detrimental to the killer.
Listen, I get it sucks to be the last survivor alive and feeling like you have a snowball's chance in hell of escaping. I've been there, I've died to the EGC. I've been left to bleed out to the EGC as well. ######### happens.
What you have to understand is that when you're the last survivor remaining, you are in a 1v1 situation against a player playing a character that's balanced around a 4v1. This player completed their objective very efficiently and should be rewarded for it. That's how games work - you do things right, you get rewarded for it.
The survivors, on the whole, failed to do anything right for the game to end in a 1v1. They didn't win chases, didn't repair generators, didn't survive. The killer should not be punished by a forced alteration of the game's balance to try to make sure a single survivor is able to 1v1 the killer after the killer did their job.

There were multiple issues with MoM. This situation is not analogous in any way, and I'm willing to bet you know it's not.
-
You're getting it backwards. It's not that Alert doesn't counter Freddy's Dream Demon, it's that Dream Demon counters Alert. Freddy is the only killer who can counter Alert.

DbD is inspired by slasher flicks, where killers stalked their victims. It'd make no sense for killers not to know who the victims are.

No one is ######### saying that it wasn't wrong for survivors to do that.
I see your horrific use of the term 'double standards' and raise you the fact of your own damn double standards.
When survivors were doing it indefinitely (which, by the way, is what it actually means to take the game hostage), there was nowhere near this much backlash, and the usual responses to people complaining ranged from "Just go AFK" to "Just disconnect" and "Bring Whispers". So maybe people weren't explicitly stating that it wasn't wrong for survivors to do that, but implicitly, not only were they OK with it, but they thought it was the killers' fault for not predicting the future.

I just had this too. Billy closed the Hatch, downed me and i had to wait 3 minutes while he was having fun riding on his chainsaw. And I have a feeling it will happen more and more often as soon as more killer realize how easy it is for them to exploit EGC.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/493495#Comment_493495
Any hostage situation ends sooner or later. The killer is taking the game hostage during EGC, because as a survivor in such a situation you can't do ANYTHING to end it, the last survivor and hence the game are being held hostage for that time, because both FULLY depends on the killer.
It's funny how killers defend this situations by attacking the definition and ignoring the actual content of this thread and this exploit. And just a month ago killers were crying about similar situations in the game. Bunch of hypocrites.
Wrong. You clearly haven't been held hostage in the basement, where the trial could not end unless the survivors trapped in the basement disconnected.
Sweetie, you're arguing that it's holding the game hostage, which is the point of contention. If it's not holding the game hostage, the problem vanishes.
PS: Two minutes is the time it takes for a survivor to die on a hook. By your logic, hooking survivors is holding the game hostage.

Play stealth? lol oh ok so you 1 of them survivors that just sits on the outside of the map all game and waits for everyone to die or them to do everything and then try to escape? lol ok
That's not stealth, that's waiting for everyone else to die. You can repair generators and unhook people while playing stealthily.
-
I think dodging is nowhere near comparable to DCing. Dodging means a trial doesn't start; at worst, you have to queue up again. DCing only occurs when it's already started and ######### over everyone else.

I understand what synergy is.
I also understand that spirit isn't the only killer that can use this combination. she was just the easiest example to prove the statement wrong with raw numbers.
it's hard to prove something when you're not using raw numbers and a lot of scenarios where the killer could hit the survivor exiting the locker is based on interactions that are extremely unreliable. for example legion could do it assuming he has a movement speed buff and is using his frenzy, but the exposed status would have to hit after he has recovered from his exhaustion. if the survivor makes the mistake of walking towards the killer after exiting the locker then most killers could hit the survivor, but those examples are too unreliable to consider a definite thing that could and would happen.
Spirit on the other hand is easy to replicate and can happen consistently.
So it's unreliable in every other killer, which sounds to me like a problem that solves itself. It also probably explains why nobody actually uses that perk combination.
Yes, the Spirit can get some use out of it in a consistent way (though only once; afterward, everyone will already know that the Spirit has those perks). That's synergy. That's the whole logic behind builds, that they work consistently.

Because you're speaking in half-truths. The problem with MoM and DS was the lack of counterplay. BBQ was also already nerfed (remember how lockers didn't use to hide your aura?).

the statement "buff all the others to match this 1" is a bit silly. if the end goal is to create "tough decisions between perks" then buffing the perks to all be overloaded doesn't solve that. It instead makes it so there's no wrong answer. if you're wanting the perks to be tough choices then you have to individualize them around specific game mechanics that actually matter. for example - you mentioned a desire to farm blood points as your primary reason for taking BBQ right? The problem with that rationale is that if that was all you're using it for then you'd just remove it for a better perk and run offerings like survivor pudding and such because "the aura doesn't matter" But we all know that the aura is what's giving you those blood points because without knowing where the survivors are and without actively succeeding at being a killer you're not going to get very many blood points regardless. you have to interact with the survivors to get blood points - whether that be by slowing generator progression, entering and winning chases, successfully hitting your opponent, destroying pallets, and using your ability : if you're not involved with the survivors you're not getting blood points.
The combination of blood points + aura reading that's outside of the terror radius + having an opponent hooked already creates a lose lose scenario for survivors and combining it with just iron maiden limits the counter-play substantially.
would you still take BBQ if it didn't provide aura reading at all?
No, having perks that are worthless is what takes away any tough choices. If your choices are between Unrelenting 3 at release (9% increase in recovery speed) or NOED 3 at release (lasts indefinitely and isn't a Hex perk), that's no choice at all. On the other hand, if all perks are equally good at the one thing they're supposed to do, then you have to choose how you want your build to work.

no. im not saying that. I'm saying that if a spirit uses a single add on - the mother daughter ring and an item that increases her duration of the phase walk to be that of the 15 seconds - so an additional 8-10 seconds she can traverse the entire map.
the mother daughter ring gives you 40% movement speed.
if you were to combine it with let's say katsumori talisman which gives a considerable increase to the duration of yamaoka's haunting duration then you could in theory travel the entire distance of the map in the ethereal plane.
that aside the statement was that you can't hit a survivor exiting a locker 40 meters away in 15 seconds. which is proven wrong by my example.
however, assuming that you dont want to use the mother daughter ring you could still hit a survivor approximately 40-45 meters away before the exposed status effect expired even if the survivor is trying to run away.
So because one killer, who'd need to dedicate all their add-on slots and half their perk slots just for this one mechanic, might possibly get a bigger advantage than other killers, you want to gut the perk?
You do understand what synergy is, right? Some killers have more synergy with some perks than others. That's what builds are, after all, a combination of things that work well together.

That's not so much what I'm saying though haha. I completely accept my losses and move on every time. What I'm concerned about is that with the overwhelming pressure to "nerf" survive with friends "bully squads", that genuine people playing to have fun are going to get nerfed in the process. Some of the nerf ideas I've seen are way to much (limiting perks to either none or a single perk etc, taking away items etc) and while I doubt the devs will add any of these, I fear they might be pressured in the future into doing so which is why I made my post haha.
Well, yeah. The same thing happened to the Legion. However, the devs aren't going to nerf SWF because it's not mechanically possible to take away what gives SWF their advantage - voice chat.

40 meters - spirit moves at 7.04 m/s for 5 seconds while in her ethereal form. let's do some math.
7.04m/s x 4 seconds - 28.16 meters.
okay cool. add the green item dirty uwabaki and you're moving at 191% movement speed.
that's 7.64 m/s x 5 seconds = 38.2 meters. any additional movement speed buffs
(15 seconds - 5 seconds) * .4m/s = 4 meters.
4 meters + 38.2 meters = 42.2 meters. it's possible with spirit. this isn't even including other movement speed buffs that are possible.
assuming you use her mother daughter ring you're getting 176+40 = 216% movement speed buff. so 4*2.16 = 8.64
8.64*15 = 129.6 meters.
the average length of an arena in a perfect square is about 105m. im sorry, but you're wrong.
So what you're saying is that the Spirit needs to stack three add-ons, do I have that right?

I don't DC anymore, maybe like once out of 40 games. There really is nothing else you can do, if you don't wanna get banned. But that's why I'm thinking, it is stupid that it even is possible to get permanently banned for disconnecting from the game. You can basically lose all your stuff (like exclusives or legacy) and the only option you'll have is to start from the bottom again. I don't think I would want to do that, but it really does get either annoying or really boring at high ranks, facing the same killers all over again and #########. Maybe region-locked matchmaking shouldn't be a thing anymore, because I really don't like how the people in my county play their killers. Or maybe a casual mode should be brought into the game.
Actually, there is something else you can do, if you don't wanna get banned for disconnecting: don't disconnect.
It's kinda like robbing a bank. If you don't wanna get arrested for it, just don't do it.
-
Well, if you're a true casual, just wanting to have fun with friends, you won't care about winning or losing. So you're gonna have to accept the losses that come when you go up against people who aren't playing casually.
-
Report, ignore, move on. If you can't do that, then stop playing.

Tell me when 4 survivors have gone a complete game without being seen? Cause you are trying to pick and choose your way to an easy win ignoring my main point which you know what i'm saying. You're ok with the survivor getting cucked by the killer that refuses to participate in normal gameplay by camping a survivor hooked. Stop the bs alternative fact deflecting
You're the one pushing alternative facts by claiming that a survivor failing at stealth and losing a chase does not actually constitute failure. I merely wanted you to tell me what, then, constitutes failure for the survivors in your eyes, if it's not the inability to stay alive.
As for me, I'm not OK with the idea that either side should be punished for the other's mistakes. Saying that killers should be punished for killing a survivor in a particular way after that survivor ######### up is like saying survivors who win chases in a certain way should be punished.
