Unhooking yourself is not PRD, so thats not quite how it works.
I don't know what you mean by PRD, but self-unhooks follow a binomial distribution.

Before I tell you, I want to tell you this so you don't get confused, "Scavengers" were called "Runners" before the rework of DG. Now, to answer your question:
Ironically, the problem was that BHVR made the perfect asymmetrical horror game. Like if the Runners, Minor Role, didn't work together for a split second, the Hunter, Power Role, would take over in a heart beat. This caused new players to not enjoy the game because they were simply getting rekt'd as the Runner constantly. Consequently, Death Garden started to lose players and became the most "dead" game ever in steam, literally.
Now, you may ask, I still die a lot as the Scavenger, so am I technically getting rekt'd consistently? Well, here's the thing, the win conditions were completely different before the rework. Before the rework, if 3 Runners were sacrificed to the Blood Post, it didn't matter if you was still alive because you still lost. This caused an even more unfun factor because not only you could get rekt'd by the Hunter, but you also had no control on whether or not your teammates got rekt'd. 3 teammates got rekt'd? Too bad you lose! The Hunter seen you? You're getting rekt'd, and you just drastically dropped your team's chances of winning. I know I'm saying "Rekt'd" a lot, but that's what would happen consistently because people wouldn't properly communicate to their teammates, if they even communicated.
Those win conditions do sound awful, but they changed that up. My only problem now is my ######### up processor that thinks it's always at 90 ºC (it's not) and is throttling itself. I can barely browse the Internet.

It's content, any type of content, even small details that are added into the game are important, if it helps the play get immersed more, it is important.
And also yes, that mystery you are talking about would indeed last about 5 seconds less if each killer would have their own theme
How is it more immersive if the Entity decides to grab a squeezebox and play the Clown's theme when he's nearby?

Killers already complaining? Just like they did with Spirit and she's absolutely banging? Stop whining, PTB is out soon, stop bloody whining.
You know that's not true. You know the Spirit was weak in the PTB and was only buffed after complaints. Why are you purposefully saying something that's not true?

He needs to stop appearing with his shirt on. That's basically it.
Fact: Shirtless developers make streams better.

The reason why it wasn't popular was because solo runners would get absolutely destroyed without communication. It wasn't really fun to get destroyed 10 seconds into the game, while the new version took a system where you don't need communication to do so well.
@NMCKE How did it use to be?
-
The more I play it, the more I love it. I don't even care that I'm dying 75% of the time.

Y'know, you can just say "two".

Dead by Daylight wouldn't be the same without No0b3, Puppers or Monto.
Stop being sensitive DBD, I don't even know who Cauliflower is but I know she has 1/3 of viewers what Puppers has and 1/7th of what No0b3 does.
These streamers exist and some (like Puppers and Monto) should be recognized.
Puppers on average has about 1.4- 1.8k viewers.
No0b3 has about 3.8-4.2k on a normal basis.
Just because they exist doesn't mean you have to reference them in streams that have nothing to do with them. Stop being so sensitive.

This doesn't resolve the issue for the guy on the hook.
The guy on the hook didn't get there by magic. The killer did his job.
-
When you're literally staring at a Claudette and don't realize it because maps are so dark (from the killer's perspective; survivors have a super bright PoV by comparison, for whatever reason), it becomes a problem. So yes, let's be reasonable and understand that the character is an issue due to the lighting.

Players cannot and should not be able to influence the matchmaker, ever. Report the harasser.

Several, actually.

Hi, have you met Overcharge?
Hi, have you met limited perk slots and good game design that doesn't require players to equip specific things to maybe sorta compensate for a design flaw?

Reports work, there's a button next to the chat (looks like this ») you can press to close it for that session, report people to Steam if they leave comments on your profile (or just make comments friends-only), and there are actual punishments for those attitudes as long as you actually report them so the mods can see it.

Base game and all chapters and paragraphs except for Ash, so roughly €90.
-
Played against a camping Bubba with Ruin. Took the time to break all the totems without Small Game and still had time to repair one solo generator, plus partially repair a few others along the way. Two survivors escaped. A third one would've escaped as well, but she played poorly at the end and did a stupid play that ended up costing her the escape.
-
Well, there's the Nurse.
...
Good talk.

Wish we could have that kind of quality in-game.

The serious answer is that they were intended to be a limited time thing. Escape Cakes, Survivor Puddings and Bloody Party Streamers were all meant to be part of the anniversary event one year and then be retired afterwards. Due to popular demand, they were left in.
BPS used to be common, actually. But I guess I could tell the team to make them very rare or ultra rare if you'd prefer it. *wink wink*
I'd prefer if you got rid of common BP offerings, downgraded the rest (except Puddings, Cakes, and BPS), and called it a day.

Killers disconnect for any reason in a lobby. Since the Ash update, I've spent more lobby time as a solo queue survivor than I have a Killer.
What a sad state of affairs.
A dodge is not a disconnect.
-
In that situation it'd be possible to hold the game hostage. No.
-
@NeaJovovich said:
The game is Killer balanced in pub matches/solo queue.
The game is titled to Survivors in 3+ SWF in only about 60% of the matches.
Not talking "red ranks" cuz not everyone is red rank.
So basically, Survivors DC cuz the match is unfun - Killer, Add-Ons, Map, Hex camping, etc.
Killers get to play the entire round, Survivors don't. They role feels like a chore if their teammates aren't playing well.
The more Survivors that die off, the easier it should be for Survivors to win.
The more generators that are repaired, the easier it should be for the killer to win.
Does the above sound reasonable in any way?
-
As someone who uses lockers a lot, no.

I'm not invested mentally when it comes to how the emblem system currently works now, but I feel like @Orion might know.
That or someone he knows, but from what I can gather I guess having fast games won't progress the games emblem system very much for either side.
That, and you mori'ed them which anyone can tell you won't progress anything in your emblem system specifically. The game wants you to kick gens, hook survivors, and etc etc. Simple things anyone can do, but if you take a faster route I guess the results are usually half baked.
I do not. I don't care about rank.

Well, I guess that means an online game isn't meant for them if they keep disconnecting or dodging due to bad connection. At least they get 2 chances with my escalation process before they get punished.
So the system wouldn't escalate to temporary bans or just ridiculously long queue penalties that are analogous to temporary bans?
-
@NMCKE said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/496344#Comment_496344
Actually, you can't really have a bad connection after dedicated servers unless you're connected to a server that's not in your region. You're allowed to dodge as many times as you want if you're not connected to a server that's closest to you. However, if you dodge when you're connected to a server that's closest to you, that's when the escalation process takes effect.
Yes, you can, if anything along both connection points is malfunctioning. Good luck proving someone's computer or router or whatever wasn't malfunctioning when they dodged.
-
@realJimbo said:
You think if i got banned and told the reason to devs i could get unbanned?
Nope. EAC bans are to be taken up with EAC.
-
It's one of those "proceed at your own risk" things. EAC doesn't currently scan for it, but if and when they start to, you're on your own.

200ms is just a placeholder, is always subject to change. Now about your lag switch idea, can't dedicated servers detect that?
I don't think they can. Dedicated servers don't know what you're doing with all your bandwidth or even what your bandwidth is. All they can tell is how long it's taking for the information to travel between them and you.
-
@legion_main said:
@NMCKE I know a lot of pc players don't like to play above 100 ms so that probably wouldn't work
Average human reaction time to visual stimulus is 250 ms and to audio stimulus it's 170 ms. If you're like me and are well above average, anything above 100 ms can actually ######### you over.

@NMCKE said:

This is where we punish survivors who dodge a lot.
If you dodge a lobby when you have 200ms or less...
- No Punishment
- No Punishment
- 5 minute queue penalty.
- 4 invalid dodges or higher will have a 5 minute queue penalty.
Escalations will reset after you play 2 games.
What's to stop people from lagswitching to dodge?
-
A 5% speed increase in opening the gates translates to about one less second. Are you sure that's what you want?
-
I have encountered this. It probably has to do with a feature to prevent people from just getting off and then back on, thus bypassing the short period where you're not supposed to be able to progress the interaction.
I just keep the interaction going until there's a small amount of progress and then leave. Doesn't take long.

Cheating I've encountered in the last week: Survivor uses Bond to locate other Survivors and point them out to Killer so they can farm the other 3 Survivors for bp.
Something that EAC cannot stop.
That's not cheating, that's griefing. Cheating implies you've modified the game in some way. I hope you reported those players.

Same as eac detects cheats. It could detect voice communication programs and instead of a ban DbD would just close itself (not start)
So it'd shut down if Steam was open? What about smartphones?
It's not possible to prevent voice communication in any game, period. The very notion is absurd.
-
Buff other killers if you want to see fewer Nurses.
-
Tunneling is playing efficiently. Do you ever find a regressing generator at 50% and leave it for another one? No, because that's absurd.
If you're encountering cheaters, report them.

They do it because other people enable and justify their behavior. If you report them, however, they'll get themselves banned, and the game will be all the better for it.

Perk Corrupt intervention doesnt affect if there is 2nd Objective, but Hex ruin does. I concern about that, too.
Abit details idea from me to Gas as 2nd objective:
. Gas stations should not appears aura to Killer to patrol, I really want 2nd main objective isnt a dangerous work as doing gen.
. Currently doing gen take 80sec. I think its fair to get max gas for 10sec, the time to put maximum gas you're carrying into gen is 10sec. Repair gen time is 40sec. (get gas 10sec twice + put in gas 10sec twice + repair gen 40sec = 80sec)
. The maximum gas you carry fill 50% of the gen, you can only repair to 50%.
. Regression: lets tell you put 50gas into a gen, you fix to 30% then you get chased, the gen get regression not the whole progress, but only the gas (the gen lose 20gas that you're not done fixing). Regression gas can not be stopped. You can continue repair through remaining regressing gas. If you fill gas while regressing gas is happening, it will only lose that 20gas then it stops.
. When you're in dying state, you drop waste gas on the ground, you will have to get gas again when you're back to injured state.
You get an upvote just for the nifty animation.

I've already said it, the killer started camping long before any of my teammates were around so that's not why.
You're not getting what I'm saying. Survivors almost always do what your teammates did. Killers aren't bots, they quickly realize that survivors will rush the hook no matter what instead of doing gens, so they camp. It doesn't matter if the survivors are there right away since they usually go there eventually and stay there, no matter what the killer does.
-
@Blondie129 said:
Because camping is a cheap, easy way to win that requires no skill. WHY actually try when you can just stand there and get 4ks cause the survivors try to play the game how it was meant to be played. I don't let It get to me anymore OP because I just know that it means they are scrubs and can’t play with real skill
So you think wanting to be around the killer and not doing anything is how survivors are meant to play the game?
