Assuming a five meter drop (since the floors seem much taller than the killers, who are already quite tall, I'm assuming the modern standard of ~3 meters per floor don't apply), you'd hit an indestructible, hard object while traveling (falling) at roughly 10 meters per second (36 km/h).
-
I don't know if you've ever been on someone's shoulder when they dropped from three meters, but their shoulder would push into your guts with such force that you'd double over in pain and would be unable to stand for hours.

Wait, mori spamming doesn't pause the bleed-out timer anymore? Like, when the mori progress bar is on the killer's screen, the bleed-out timer doesn't pause?
Edit: Sorry @Gcarrara, I didn't see your message until after I posted this.
@NMCKE It hasn't done that for two and a half years.

@miaasma said:
what claim is that?
The claim that Mori spamming could be done for hours, when in fact it can only be done for up to four minutes. It was my first comment in this thread.
-
@miaasma said:
can i ask why you felt the need to tell people that mori spamming isn't a big deal? since apparently my assumptions are so off-base
I already said I wanted to correct a bizarre claim. The reason your assumptions are so off-base is because you're not even reading what I'm writing. You're making stuff up and pretending that's what I said.
-
@miaasma said:
ah the good old "nothing i say means anything so when you read something into it i forfeit any responsibility", i love it
Again, not what I said. I literally said that what I say means what is written. You're the one pretending that what I write doesn't mean what it says.

if you want to pretend that feeling the need to point out that you feel people are over-exaggerating when they complain about being held hostage for 4 minutes while a killer jerks themselves off mori spamming you has nothing to do with underplaying the griefing factor then sure, be as dishonest as you want
it makes a lot more sense that i've been having this discussion with somebody who has never been mori spammed
I might've been, I dunno. As I said, I go AFK.
I don't feel the need to do anything. I do things I want to. It's funny that you call me dishonest when you're the one making ######### up and pretending I'm the one saying it.
-
@Tsulan Those who don't know history, am I right?
-
Here's what I'm actually doing, since it appears the direct message was still too subtle for you (and probably others).
- I'm expressing my opinion on why I feel Mori spamming, while griefing, is not as big a deal as many people seem to believe.
- I'm explaining how I deal with slugging (never been the victim of Mori spamming myself, but since December 6th, 2013, there has been no difference in regards to time between the two), which people can try if they think 4 minutes is too long.
-
@miaasma said:
all i did was read between the lines
you're expressing that other people are being unreasonable in complaining about being mori spammed until their character bleeds out
you have indicated that the onus is on the people being griefed to just find something else to do while they are being griefed, instead of on the people who are griefing them to just, like, not do it. not a surprising thing to read, but still baffling and kind of says everything
There are no lines. You made ######### up. Just admit it.
You're expressing that I'm being unreasonable for taking steps to deny the griefer any satisfaction out of their griefing. You have indicated that the people being griefed therefore must always make sure to give the griefer exactly what they want.
See how silly that sounds? Because that can be inferred from your comments as well, but it's not what you actually said. I've been adressing what you wrote instead of what I can distort your opinion to be. You have not done me the same courtesy. Why is that?
-
Yeah, it happened to this guy who caught a survivor at the exit gate right before the timer ended, was forced to put him down, and then the survivor refused to disconnect despite being bugged.

i can't imagine why else you'd try to underplay 4 entire minutes of griefing as "slightly annoying", but backpeddle all you want i suppose
but let's be real, you'd probably heckle somebody for disconnecting under those circumstances, so i suppose there's no winning in this discussion
@miaasma Nobody's underplaying anything. Different people have different reactions to the same events. I'm expressing my opinion.
You, however, are pretending I said something I didn't say, that you know I didn't say. There's a three letter word for what that is.
-
@miaasma said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/555952#Comment_555952
yeah, just get up and stop playing the game while somebody holds your character hostage for several minutes. this isn't them griefing you, trust me
@miaasma Did I say it wasn't griefing? Actually, let me just say it: I didn't say it wasn't griefing. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it. So why are you pretending I said it when you know I didn't say it?
(Ignore previous comment, it has a typo)
-
Killer, without a doubt.

you think getting mori spammed for 4 minutes is "slightly" unpleasant?
Go make yourself a sandwich. Problem solved.
@miaasma said:
4 minutes is a lot of time to just be doing nothing, especially since the bleedout timer was made to be the way it is for a reason and mori spamming artificially extends it
it goes beyond "slightly annoying" when you have to get up from your computer
i don't think this really needs to be explained
Mori spamming has not extended it for two and a half years. And 4 minutes is too long? I have ADD and I don't think it's too long, so what's your excuse?

I've seen enough responses from you to other users to know how you feel towards survivors so yes I do believe you are ok with wasting a survivors time for 4 minutes.
I think it's slightly unpleasant, but not as big an issue as you make it seem. I've had to deal with longer unskippable credits that render my computer unusable for their duration, since if the game is out of focus, the credits won't roll.
You can believe what you want, but the truth doesn't depend on what you believe. I said nothing that you pretended I said, that is the truth. And despite what you or anyone else might believe, the truth is that I practice what I preach. A few examples:
Slugged with no hope of survival? AFK.
Penultimate survivor and got hooked? Suicide once the last guy has found the hatch.
Last survivor and got caught? Don't wiggle, just let myself be hooked.
Problems with stealth killers? Use Premonition (currently switched with Alert).
Being camped? Make sure to waste as much of the killer's time as possible.
-
@Ttwylerr said:

You said it's possible to mori spam a survivor for 4 minutes and considering how toxic players like to act that can easily happen.
Yes, I said that to correct the bizarre claim that it could be done for hours. No more, no less.
Since the opinion in the first sentence of your previous comment didn't come from me, and I'm assuming you didn't click "Quote" on the wrong comment or you would've admitted it by now, the opinion can only be yours.
-
@Ttwylerr said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/555354#Comment_555354
So basically it's ok to waste 4 minutes of a survivors if a killer chooses to. Being able to waste a killer or survivors time like that definitely needs something done about it.
Indeed, the second sentence is my opinion. I can only surmise the first is yours, since I didn't say anything that could even remotely be interpreted as what you wrote there.

How is there a double standard? I always try to look on both sides and constantly state so. This post is not about toxic killers. It’s about all the DbD players.
The double standard is that you dismiss things survivors do to survive (or delay dying) as being, quote, "game mechanics". However, if killers also use game mechanics to kill (or speed up kills), you consider it toxic.
-
It was changed in patch 1.3.0, on December 6th, 2016. So roughly two and a half years ago.

Before mori spamming paused the timer which is why I categorized it as hostage.
It hasn't done that for quite some time now.
-
@weirdkid5 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/555363#Comment_555363
Slugging isn't the problem.
The problem was that Mori spamming made it near infinite and forced a DC. If this is no longer the case, then mori spamming is just a worse slugging.
Mori spamming isn't possible without slugging, so I just grouped the two together. I go AFK in either case.
-
@weirdkid5 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/555354#Comment_555354
I didn't know this. If this is true, then the Killer is just wasting his own time in that case.
Why do you think such a thing is not bannable? When I get slugged with no hope of escape, I just go AFK.
-
Her base kit is balanced. She scales with player skill, meaning she's as good as the person playing her. The corollary is that people playing against her need to be a good as or better then the person playing her.
If you're referring to her add-ons, the devs have already said they'd be looking at those.
-
All I see in this thread is a blatant double standard. Survivors can do whatever they want to survive and it's not toxic, but if killers do it, they're being toxic.
-
@NMCKE said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/554676#Comment_554676
Mori spamming is considered as holding the game as hostage. Why?
Imagine you was going to mori spam someone for 30 seconds, just for fun. The survivor who's being mori spammed might think you're going to do this for hours - they don't know how long you're going to mori spam. Therefore, they DC out of fear that you'll hold the game as hostage.
You can't mori spam for longer than 4 minutes. Before, the bleed-out timer didn't progress, but now it does.

Seems good to me, a halfway step between just making all perks tier 3 and keeping it the way it is. It's adequate to the current state of the game, since there aren't enough perks to just get rid of tiers 1 and 2, but there are too many for things to stay the way they are.

Disregarding the toxicity, which @LordGlint explained (and is also a matter of perspective; I've often heard it's worse on console), if you're not playing to win, why do you care that you lose to someone who is?

@Spectro said:

That's the problem though. As per the Steam achievement stats, only 10% of survivors have ever gone past rank 10. And only 5% of all killers have.
I'm sorry to say this but red ranks account for maybe 1-2% of all players and making a killer good at red ranks will make the experience worse for the other 98-99% which makes no sense at all.
False dichotomy. If you balance the game at high ranks, it should be enough for all the others to be balanced as well, since you made it so the highest possible level of play is limited so that it's equal on both sides. However, should this not be the case, you can then analyze how the highest level of play works and make changes that don't affect it (since high ranks don't make use of certain mechanics and perks) but will affect the others.

The question is.
If she can bring people from the past to her realm, are we in the present time or in the future for us, so when you think about it, she can bring someone from the future for someone who was taken from the past, while this person in fact is from the present...
Past, present, and future are all relative. Your comment is in the past for me, but it's in the future for someone in 2018. You can't think of the Entity's realm in such terms because it has its own time.

@Orion With one exception all of the characters could only be selected once per match. So only 1 Survivor could use the Super good at chases survivor.
There is even a banning system for ranked matches.
Plus it's a debuff of like 30%.
Even with all of that though there are more than 5 Survivors that are good in chases. Like I said the specifics were unbalanced. But fundamentally the system is really cool.
DbD has already established itself as a game that allows you to play whoever and whatever you want. This would create a major shitstorm, and for good reason.

I will respectfully say to you, idc much about the data. It feels boring, and cold hard numbers doesn't always transfer into how gameplay feels. Similar to what's on paper it may not feel right in game. It's just my opinion.
If you'd read past the first sentence, you'd see I'm agreeing with you about survivor being too easy if you know what you're doing, but OK.

I don't have anything to prove when the escape rate has been revealed 80% at rank 1 in data by the devs. How much proof do you need, get out your feelings and stop taking it so personal when I just literally said this was my opinion in the Original Post. Begone.
That 80% isn't real, it has to do with how the data was acquired. That said, the real average escape rate at that time was between 60% and 80%. It only changed to roughly 40% when they made it easier for survivors to pip and flooded high ranks with bad survivors.

@NuclearBurrito said:
I actually do think there is quite a bit this game could learn from identity V.
For example I think the persona system is superior to DBD's perk system.
And that while unbalanced, the character system is in theory more interesting than what DBD has.
For example, take Forward.
He's able to stun the Hunter, dash really fast and far, vaults faster than other survivors and pallet stuns by him last longer. Not to mention he struggles out much quicker.
However he's kept in check by the fact that he is much slower at making gen progress, meaning that the Killer will often just ignore him in favor of other Survivors entirely.
Compare that to a Survivor using Dead hard and other chase oriented perks, the Killer will have no idea which survivor's are running it before hand and if the Killer tries to ignore them in favor of other survivors they will just go on gens with no downside.
Using this kind of system Identity V can have a much larger variety of mechanics without ruining the games integrity
Until everyone plays the characters that make chases as miserable as possible for killers, which severely offsets the whole "slow gen progress" thing.
-
@LordGlint said:
With that argument, why should the killers emblems be artificially hit for doing HIS job of making damn sure the guy on the hook dies?
They shouldn't, which is why I was (and still am) against it.
-
@LordGlint said:
I mean on EITHER end, whether that be camping hatch waiting for your teammates to get caught and killed, or leading killer to a teammate and HOPING they change targets.
Turning a useless teammate into a useful one is not a bad move. Waiting for the hatch is not a bad move either, since most survivors won't think to rat you out (case in point, your reaction to the very idea of doing so) - it's low-risk, high-reward.
Note that both my statements presuppose your goal is to escape. If your goal is something else, then they might not be true.
-
@LordGlint said:
Why should sacrificing your teammates ever be considered "good play"
You're turning a useless teammate into a useful distraction while you get everyone out. Sounds like a good move to me.
-
@LordGlint said:
I've seen ppl hatch camping with 3 survivors and 1 gen left though
Lead the killer to them and finish the last generator.
-
@LordGlint said:
How is that playing poorly?
If the killer is stomping, you can bet your ass I will let every single one of my teammates die and then look for the hatch instead of exposing myself to the killer. I expect no more or less from them, should I get caught.
-
No player should be forced to play poorly to avoid penalties.
-
Why didn't you revert the Decisive Strike buff that was made specifically to deal with Enduring, now that Enduring no longer affects Decisive Strike? This seems unfair, since the buff was explicitly to make it better against Enduring, and you implied that without Enduring, the stun was too long.
