If you want to make this based on killer speed, you cant just make exceptions because of the killer powers. Hb and wraith are 115. Spirit is 110, nurse is ~96 and doctor is 110/115. Pig also is 115 but has an movwment speed bonus .
Whilee i sound rather trolling, im pretty sure you didnt want to mkee this about speed but simply nerf nurse and hb in a weird way.
Regression as a base mechanic should work the same in every situation. If you want to buff it, just increase the numbers or add new effects like "regression stops once x charges has been rapaired"
It's not a nerf to them. The mechanic would remain the same for them, as I understand it.
-
This would be interesting to test, but it does create another problem. Namely, that slow killers, by virtue of being slow, would take longer to get a safe distance away so that survivors could interact with the generators and stop the regression. Thus, the numbers would have to take that into account, since any percentage would be boosted by that time.

Death is not malevolent. It performs its tasks with a certain Machiavellian flair, but it's simply a force of nature, trying to make sure the natural order is maintained.
The Entity, on the other hand, is malevolent, actively feeding on the souls of the people whom She traps in Her realm until they're nothing but withered husks.

Also, even if the current hypothesis is proven wrong doesn't mean yours is right. That's a false dichotomy.

That user is not a dev, cant know for sure yeah ?
Its guessing at best.
We will see this week who is correct.
That user is a community manager, who has access to all the devs' data and works directly with them. He might not personally code the game or create skins, but he does have access to all the info.

Isn't the audio bugged for some people? I still get blasted with chase music.
Indeed. When playing survivor, it feels like all the killers have M&A tier 4.

Nerfing her 5 blinks so it doesn't turn into an impossible match? I'm down.
Tweaking doesn't just mean Nerf..
Like, I can Tweak my Username (Buff my Username) so it actually says: Michael_Myers
So it can also mean buff.
So... still taking the QnA out of context.
EDIT: another example of tweaking meaning buffing, is that Call of Duty can Tweak their gameplay and Mechanics to make something new and better! Which is buffing the overall experience of all players.
So you're claiming that they're gonna buff her add-ons, or at the very least that it's within the realm of possibility?

We both know that "tweaking" means "nerfing".

Her addons are the only thing that needs changes, not nerfs, changes. Its kinda starting to get sad now of how all survivors now want the viable killers to be not viable anymore, first it was billy (But glad they didn't do anything to him), then Ghostface and now Spirit and nurse
Every single killer has had survivors clamoring for nerfs, including the Wraith.

Slugging is a counter. You’ve said before that you’re a survivor main so by your logic your demands have no reasoning.
Let me make this as simple as I can.
Devs: Decisive Strike's stun was perfect without Enduring, but too short with Enduring, so we've increased it to 5 seconds.
Devs: Enduring no longer affects Decisive Strike.
Devs: Decisive Strike's stun at 5 seconds is perfect.
Me: If it was perfect at 3 seconds, it can't be perfect at 5 seconds. Now that Enduring no longer affects it, it should go back to 3 seconds.
As for what you pretended my logic is, you'll note I used the word "usually". Twice, in fact. And I already told you that statistics are not invalidated by single data points. The fact that someone inevitably wins the lottery doesn't mean it's a sure thing.

Then why do killers still have NOED ? hmmmm ;)
Devs can destroy MoM so survivor cant have "easy" escape.
But not NOED so killers can keep easy down. Well that is just one of many reasons for devs to favor one side more.
The longer queue times i think is because ppl dont wana play surv anymore. why is that?
Break the totems. NOED has a clear and easy counter.
As for the queue times, you know why they're long. It's been explained to you a million times. So I'm left to wonder why you're pretending not to know.

@GrootDude said:
@Orion you’ve been on this forum long enough to see both sides demand things, in fact you yourself have demanded things like bringing DS back down to three seconds.
Yes, I have demanded that once a reason for a change is gone, the change itself should also be gone, because if something is buffed due to a counter being too strong, and then the counter is removed while the thing remains the same, then that thing is too strong now.
Killer demands usually have some reasoning behind them, balance being chief among them. Survivor demands usually just involve whatever the survivor lost to in the last 30 seconds.

Some from both sides demand and others discuss. Don’t act like one side is the only one with people demanding things.
Statistics are not invalidated by single data points.

Each add-on, perk, etc., has a different number associated with those terms. You have to look at each individually. Even then, the wiki might not have the number for one reason or another.
-
deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com
Not everything might have exact numbers, though.

I agree with everything you said, OP. Her base kit renders DbD a game of skill vs. skill, where you'll only escape if you're better than the Nurse (assuming nobody makes mistakes).

But from what i read ppl say only play surv if u can SWF wich makes sens ofc.
And i havent seen those pics showing the bp gain is about the same so please contribute and link them.
Save The Best For Last, the Nightmare, the Legion, the Plague, Unrelenting, Brutal Strength, Iron Grasp, Deep Wound, the Pig, Insidious, Shadowborn, Remember Me, Spies From The Shadows.
Sorry, I was just listing some stuff that was nerfed to #########.

It's literally what all of this is about.
Are you running out of ideas or what.
I specified the BP thing to make it more worth for Survivors to play against it and not encourage quitting or stuff like this.
I already said what I had to say.
At this point think what You want to think.
All I see are Killers who get salty because Survivors actually get a good thing by playing against such thing
I'm a survivor main. I don't think it's fair that either side should spend BP to gain an advantage, but it ends up benefiting the other side in the long run.
-
@YoosungKim said:

That'd prevent it.
As I already said. I still don't see any reason why they shouldn't get more points.
At best, it'd mitigate the problem and make survivors realize that if they actually play the game, they have a chance to win.
I can think of one reason: why should the BP I spend to acquire something that's meant to give me the upper hand benefit you?
-
@YoosungKim said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/557868#Comment_557868
Not worth if we talk about BP and Ranks.
But ok.
That's why you need to specify what your goal is when you say such objective things like "worth it".

How is the point "not knowing". The game knows. You don't have to know. What you are saying is dumb.
I don't understand how the " knowing " factor is a " point " to disagree with this.
Not knowing is totally ok. But when you understand you are against an ebony mori. At least Survivors will get BP and ragequitting or things like this will be prevented.
That's the Point.
Because they're not disconnecting in-game, they're disconnecting during the loading screen, to take advantage of the band-aid fix to prevent 3-man lobbies from starting a round, just as everyone said they would.
-
@YoosungKim said:
Everyone is just missing the whole point of this.
It's about making going against am Ebony Mori worthy for both Sides.
And not only for Killers.
I already think it's worth it as a survivor, just to see the cool animations.

Nobody really uses Shroud of Separation to be honest.
Which is why I used them. Free BP.
Also, could be a Cypress or an Ivory. Point is, you don't know. You can't know.
-
And how do you know they have Ebony Mori? I've used Shroud of Separation before they made it so 3-person lobbies couldn't start just to see if survivors would disconnect. It was like using a BPS, but with the guarantee that they'd have no choice but to farm, since 1-3 would always disconnect either during the loading screen or during the trial. If they all disconnected, it was free BP in return for a useless offering.

@Madjura said:
Balancing around high rank is pointless when rank has no meaning. The only thing this accomplishes is making the game less fun for new players which is a bad thing for the health of the game overall
@Spectro said:
Why balance around high ranks when only 10% of players ever makes it past rank 10? Sorry to say it but no sane person would ruin the experience for 90% of the players just so the other 10% can have fun.
Balance is not a zero sum game. You can balance for high ranks while making sure the game is balanced at all ranks. In fact, that's what normally happens when you balance games at high ranks. What you can't do is balance games at the most common rank and then expect it to be balanced anywhere else.
-
Because it's more relaxing than playing killer and I can do it with my friends. I also get BP more consistently, and even if I have a ######### trial, it's still fun to spectate my friends while chatting with them.

My only question to all those complaining about balancing is how long you guys been playing the game. Ive been playing since mike first came out. Before Franklin's. Before slow vault fast vault only. Before insta blind bulb. Before double pallets were removed. Before exhaustion was a thing. Before broken was a thing. Not just survivor. Machine gun build on Mike or phil. Go play about that time and I'll be here waiting for you to congratulate the devs on the balancing they've done. The recent patches to mettle of man shows they are working. And as stated before its not an esports game. Its one of the last couple CAAUAL games i truly enjoy playing. And i think its just fine lately with the variety of builds, characters, and experiences.
Just because I only kick you in the balls half as much as before doesn't mean your situation is good.

@NurseMainBTW said:
@FrenziedRoach and @Orion Go take a ######### break will ya? You guys are being simpletons and especially rude. OP is not saying that killers or survivors should farm when a cake or a streamer is activated.
What he's trying to say is that they should play seriously AND be smart about it by doing things that can grants more point for each side without taking away the real meaning of the game.
And I'm saying to stop judging people based on how they play or feeling entitled to people changing their playstyle because you used an offering. If you play like that then good for you. Not everyone will do the same. You're just gonna have to live with it.

Oh, you were doing the same to my posts, I thought that's how this works. Y'know, how you said everyone should play like I say, even though I never mentioned playstyles.
You didn't mention specific playstyles in your OP, no, but you did mention playstyles in general. It's right there in your title, where you complain that people "don't know how to play with cakes or streamers". What is a playstyle if not how you play?
-
@semaj_leachim said:
I dont get why you're saying people should only tunnel and camp.
Literally nobody said that. I don't get why you're pretending someone did.
-
@semaj_leachim said:
Lolol, whatever you say Becky. Of course when the objective of this game is to level and rank up then yeah, goals are the same for everyone.
Bloodpoints have no relation to rank, and just because you think farming - sorry, acquiring as many points as possible is a goal doesn't mean everyone else agrees.
-
@semaj_leachim said:
Really? Because that's exactly what I thought it meant and that was clearly exactly what I said!
Awesome post bro!
It's what it sounds like. Their playstyle is not invalidated by you using an offering. The offerings don't state "Everyone must farm this round".
-
Just because you used an offering doesn't mean everyone should play how you want them to.

But competitive games will always develop metas. As long as good players are playing the game, they will emerge.
I'm not a big fan either, especially when they're too restrictive or last for too long, but if we want a competitive game, metas are just a part of the package.
Metas are part of any multiplayer game, competitive or not, which is why I usually avoid them like the plague.
Also, just because you design a game to not be competitive doesn't mean it won't be. If you want a multiplayer game where balance issues won't make people quit, then it needs to be co-op only. If it's PvP, it needs to be balanced to be fun, period.
-
Nope.
-
@gantes said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/556721#Comment_556721
I can kinda agree on that, it's more of a question of semantics. Because I'm not sure you can call changing the way the game is played merely "balance". It's more of a "game philosophy" thing.
For all the hallmark eSports games that are fun, engaging and interactive at the highest level and have healthy metas overall (MOBAs, fighting games, you name it) it's very reasonable to balance mostly around the highest level and expect the players to improve.
I'm not sure DBD gets in that group of games without serious changes though. No one wants to get good if the way the game is played at the highest level isn't fun.
I'm not calling it that. However, if you manage to properly balance a game (on purpose, not by random chance), that shows you understand how it works. The act of balancing provides information that can then be used to change the meta.
PS: I think the existence of metas is bad for a game because metas are boring in and of themselves, so we'll have to agree to disagree on the "healthy metas" bit.

I know it's not. You know what else is not fun? Any aspect of this game at a high level.
Honestly, think about how the optimal playstyle for survivors is right now. Spreading out, not interacting with the killer, holding M1 and leaving.
Until that changes, there's no point trying to balance at the highest level. Changes like map reworks are obviously well granted and necessary, obviously, but those are already happening. Thing is, the "highest level" of this game is probably 0.5% of people playing optimally. Even good players don't like playing optimally as survivor because it sucks d.
This game needs to be able to call itself competitive BEFORE balancing at the highest level.
It's easier to change the optimal playstyle if the game is balanced beforehand, since you'll have a better understanding of how your changes can impact the game.

Deny her the mindgames and she's weak as hell.

Not exactly true. I regard it as toxic if you take players out instantly and not give them a chance from the very begining. Taking a whole game from a person that wasnt able to do anything as soon as he/she went down. So they basically get into a lobby, get unlucky and die within the first 2min - considering how long qtimes can take... I do not like the idea of that as it doesnt seem intended by the game design (yet i know BHVR thoughts on tunnel/camp - it just doesnt feel right). I don't know what else to call it honestly. If you go for someone else in between I dont mind it at all, but always staying close and waiting for it? Nah, I don't like that. Ofc, 3-4 instaheals suck but its like with killer OS Addons. They do not have it every game. So its hard to call it toxic to use instaheals - although i get what u mean. I know why people tunnel but i think it wouldnt change much if gens got to be repaired slower. Its just very tricky in general.
I wouldnt mind survivors not to have instas and such if tunnel wasn't possible.
Common survivor mistake: killers don't care about you, specifically, unless you stand out in some way. They're just trying to win. The things survivors do that you said you didn't consider toxic, well they're not fun for killers either. So why is one side's fun relevant and the other's isn't?
-
Yes, because punishments don't work.
-
@malloymk said:
Killers get rewarded for kicking gens and pallets. Why should you be rewarded for failure? Letting survivors get on the gens and pallet stun you. Sad.
Why do killer mains always want to limit survivor point gaining? From a killer point of view there are plenty of legitimate things to complain about. Survivors gaining more bp is not one of them. Grow up, losers.
Killers get points for pushing their objective, which includes prolonging matches and taking away survivors' advantages. Tell me, is a survivor's objective to die on the hook?
