The best is when 3 are private but the 4th person isn't and has the other 3 on their friends list.
Oops!
Nah, the best is when only one has all the others as friends, so you check one profile, see one other guy, and figure it's, at worst, a double 2-man SWF, but it's actually a 4-man SWF.

not really i know for fact that lots of killers avoid situations of survivors with lots of hours after seeing their profiles. by making your profile private they would play the match specially if u have a baby skin, also the higher the hours the higher the chance of getting a mori i know that for a fact aswell because frequently i play baby skins so it works like a champ for me the amount of moris i get are way less by making my profile private and using baby skins.
however i play both sides and pretty much 60/40. 60 killer (used to be lke 85/15 before i met some good people to play with friends) so i know what other killers do when they see public profiles, they will dodge or pick an ebony if they have way more hours than you.
I'd wager I'm 80/20, maybe 90/10 (survivor main), and I don't blame killers for wanting to dodge people who use certain skins or have a ######### ton of hours. In my experience, those are the more toxic ones.

not if those are PRIVATE, as mine for example, i never give any information to the other survivors or teh killer that may thing im a try hard survivor for having more than 2k hours or whatever.
Making your profile private just makes people think you are indeed a tryhard with over 2k hours. Multiple private profiles makes people think SWF.

Is the same man, doesnt change the fact that if u remember those names next time u will DODGE or bring an ebony.
You can already check their profiles for SWF, so nothing would change.

Sure, that sounds like a normal thing for video games to have. If you use something that some people consider too powerful, nobody ranks up or down and the (previously) ranked match becomes pointless.

It's an extremely nerfed Kindred, where you can't see the killer's aura or the other survivors aura. It's ridiculous that anyone would have a problem with this solution.
It's arguably the most useful aspect of Kindred - knowing if the killer is camping.

It's almost like the lobby isn't the actual online multiplayer game or something.

Yeah but the hook is a weapon, not a power.
He also teleports (seemingly through mirrors or something) and hypnotizes people. He can turn invisible and only show up in reflections.

Meh. His power is if you say his name 3 times he pops out of a mirror and he sicks bees on people. Its whatever. Hes fine, ill take it, but meh
5 times, and he also rips people's chests open with his hook. "From your groin to your gullet", I think were his words.

Looks like the Xenomorph model from Alien: Isolation.

That's clearly a small version of a regular screenshot. Could've been fake, but it's different from this situation. OP's picture is supposedly a photo of a screen (not a screenshot) that's somehow extremely blurry and jittery despite the fact that smartphone cameras have things like autofocus. OP also hasn't said where they supposedly got this from, as far as I know.
EDIT: For comparison, here's a real picture of a screen that @Dead_by_Gadfly posted in another thread:
See the difference?

Well made but some things definitely stick out.
You just refuse to believe theres a possibility its not candyman
No, I just think this picture is obviously fake. Degrading audio and image quality is what fakers do to hide defects in their sloppy work. It's harder to spot defects in an image, audio recording, or video, if the entire thing looks and/or sounds like hammered #########.
Ask yourself: why does the supposed photo looks so terrible in the age of smartphone cameras with auto-focus? Some smartphone cameras can take pictures of the moon that are so clear, you can see individual craters. This looks like someone smeared grease on the camera and had a seizure while taking the photo.
-
Yes.
-
Obviously fake.

From what I know about how the servers work, this is what I think happened:
- You attacked David right at the end of EW3. This attack takes much longer than it does for the server to get the information about your EW status.
- The server "updated" your EW status before the attack was initiated.
- While the hit detection is still based on what you see, the EW status is not. Therefore, it showed you the animation of David going down (because that's what should've happened if you'd hit him with EW3), but in fact applied an EW2 hit (because that's how you were as far as the server is concerned).
- As the server synchronizes your game with what it processed (i.e.: what "really happened"), David is up again on your screen, because he never really went down in the first place.
Either that or he was cheating. However, given the circumstances, I'm willing to bet it was just a one in a million thing, like @Vox_Nocturne said.
-
This idea was already tried and abused by survivors.

And ya know what, I'd agree with you if it weren't for your dismissive replies to people telling you they DC every so often due to anything other than a life-threatening incident. Hits close to home as someone whose best available option due to where I live is a max 10 Mb in a household where I'm not the only person using the internet. Occasionally my green ping from the pregame lobby turns to a consistent red ping indicator finding a home at the top left of my screen before I find the first survivor.
A decent internet connection is a requirement for online games just as much as any piece of hardware.

I think it's similar to killers camping in that they don't care about the points/pip just the kill(s) - survivor only cares about the escape. For someone that wants the pips/points it's a dumb strategy, for someone that thinks win is just escaping its worth it.
I play for escapes and am primarily a stealth player, but even I think this is a bad way to play. You're much more likely to escape if you actually contribute. It's like in a society: the society is more likely to do well if everyone contributes toward the same goal than if everyone's just looking out for themselves.

Remake pennywise looks goofy if he does come to the game I hope it's the original (Tim Curry) not the remake version like how they did to my boy Freddy instead of giving us Robert England they gave us the ugliest Freddy.
I disagree. Tim Curry is an amazing actor, but Bill Skarsgård looked a lot better as Pennywise.

If you don't show me anything, then my opinion will be that you're full of #########.
We all know the evidence. Tweet, follow, Todd as a voice actor for a video game, the fact that the PTB was to coincide with the new movie (before the latter was postponed), etc.

Oh I agree that Orion had Candyman stuck far too deep in his head and can't see anything else. But if I can get him to actually explain his evidence, then there would a real debate instead of the normal "Im right, you're wrong!" crap.
For me. I dug my heels into the Killer being Gillman, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, or something closely related it. Made a topic explaining why some days back but it just never gained traction with other folks. The difference between my Gillman theory and his Candyman theory is that I can fully explain my reasoning and thoughts behind it being Gillman. I even took the time to explain every detail in the teaser (minus the skulls) and every detail fit Gillman.
The font of the 4, why it goes to the bottom of the image, why only 2 colors used, why gold and black, the textures of the background, and more. This poster sums it all up near perfectly.
https://www.alexrossart.com/Universal-Monsters-Creature-from-The-Black-Lagoon_p_364.html
The more I look at the teaser, the more solid my belief is that it is Gillman.
It's difficult to have a debate with people whose stance is "all the evidence pointing to this is fake even though it doesn't fit with the devs' past behavior".
-
@BunnyTheHutt said:
This community is toxic because the devs don't care about punishing people. The report button doesn't even work, you have too screenshot the person, then send it too them VIA email, and then hope they get punished at all. Literally no other game company does this and I still find it incredibly stupid that BHVR has this. A report should be more then enough, I shouldn't have too go full detective just to get a toxic person banned for a day lol.
@BunnyTheHutt I know you won't admit you're wrong, but here are your words.

Record your matches. It could be latency, you using it too late, or a bug. Without a video and with such a vague description, it's impossible to tell.

I wouldn't get into a debate with the guy, he holds the position of "I'm right, you're wrong, here's the officially confirmed proof, your opinion is invalid"
Hey, if it is Candyman, then I eat my words, but saying "when have they ever used red herrings" implies that they will never use them, which is hilarious. I like to think BHVR have the wit to utilise red herrings since they literally just released a Zarina perk called "Red Herring", so they know what they are. If, however, the obviously obvious hints are true, I'd be disappointed, because then the big "surprise" is not a surprise at all.
The question of when they've used red herrings is because one side (mine) takes prior evidence of their behavior into account, whereas the others literally have to make up "Sure, they never used red herrings before, but this time they totally did!" to justify their assertions. Occam's razor, people. It's not rocket science.

They have no reason to hype up an unknown character so much whith hints everywhere. If it’s Candyman they might as well put his hook next the aniversary poster.
The first Candyman film premiered in Canada and became a cult film. Unknown to you doesn't mean unknown to them.
His hook wouldn't mean much, the game is already full of hooks.

Evidence of Candyman is evidence it's not Candyman. Gotcha.

@Gomolazoli said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1295675#Comment_1295675
The real hype is not built by the Candyman hints but by what they said about the size of this chapter. And again, Candyman is not iconic or well known, and he did nothing for the horror genre other than being a mostly failed franchise. It would make zero sense for him to be in the chapter after being described like that.
People expect crazy things like Alien or Pyramidhead. But the only characters that actually fits to what they said is Jason and Pennywise. Getting a Candyman release after all of this would make a lot more people dissapointed from what I see here. But sure they can’t make everyone happy. Press F for the few who actually know Candyman and want him to be in the next chapter. But it’s not happening 100%.
How do bees and sweets/candy fit either of those characters?
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1295685#Comment_1295685
The devs could be throwing us a red herring on purpose, they know we are craving clues so why not throw out ones that totally derail us from the surprise. No, we don't have solid evidence, we have arrows pointing towards things, one of those things being Candyman, but it is not proof. It's all speculation.
When have they ever dropped red herrings?
And we do have solid evidence. Every single piece of evidence points to the Candyman. There is no single piece of evidence that doesn't point to him. If you don't get that, either you don't know the character or you're just in denial.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I think the fact that it could be Candyman but could also be any other license is why people would be disappointed with Candyman. If we had solid evidence that it was Candyman, less people would be disappointed as they would be prepared for it. Personally I don't want Candyman because i don't think he's that iconic but if they did him justice then I'd be alright with that. Pennywise seems the most realistic but we will see.
We do have solid evidence it's Candyman. Every single piece of evidence (real evidence, not stuff like "the number 4 looks like a pyramid!" or "they were showing Ghostface, so it must be the Xenomorph!") points to him. People are dismissing it because, in their minds, it's so obvious that it must be false. Evidence of Candyman is being interpreted as evidence it's not Candyman. It's a conspiracy theory if I've ever seen one.

@Mooks said:

Fake teasing would be another thing though.
this is them hyping up specifically for Candyman and if it turns out not to be Candyman, many people will be disappointed. It would be different if they made obvious red herrings for more than one license, but as it stands only Candyman gets this. All other hints and clues people are basing their speculations on are vague.
That's exactly my point. To paraphrase something I saw in a YouTube video, if I tell you we're going to Disneyland and take you to a shopping mall instead, that's not clever, it's just being a liar.

Following the voice actors of Nancy and Steve on twitter shortly before the chapter hits the PTB. And leaking bees and honey since the first of April is not the same thing. Sure I don’t get the Candyman stuff either. Could be the next chapter since it’s going to be licensed also, but certanly not this one.
Tony Todd followed them on Twitter (or vice-versa, can't remember which). Any other parallels you'd like to draw between the hints for Stranger Things and the hints for Candyman?

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1295635#Comment_1295635
It works the other way around. When did they leaked something soo hard soo obvously before? Never. They built a lot if hype for this chapter because it’s gonna be something special. Fake teasing is a good strategy to keep people guessing and make them excited. If it would be candyman in the end, it would be the most dissapointing thing they ever done.
Stranger Things, from what I hear.
If it ends up not being Candyman in the end, it would actually be the most disappointing thing they'd ever done. Being misleading isn't clever or amusing, it's just annoying for everyone who's hyped by the thing they're pretending is coming.
-
@Gomolazoli said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1295482#Comment_1295482
My point stands. The description they gave us of the next chapter simply doesn’t fit this character at all. Even if he becomes a great icon that everyone knows and gets a couple of movies after this one (which I highly doubt) the next killer is supposed to be that great by the time of the next chapter like Jason or Pennywise.
And the twitter leak is obviously missleading. It littearly says “hey it’s candyman” despite noone is alloved to leak it out. If anything that tweet means it’s gonna be anyone but Candyman. At least for this chapter.
"It's too obvious, clearly they must be deceiving us."
When have the devs ever done something like that in the past four years? Please, point out some examples so your statement (summarized above) has some weight to it.
-
@Gomolazoli said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1295447#Comment_1295447
I don’t know why some people are so confident that it’s Candyman. The only reason he’s a thing now because he’s getting a movie. But way after the next chapter release.
If it’s him, than BHVR is banking on the movie being soo good people will buy the game just for him which sounds foolish. But as for now he’s a pretty much unknown character nowhere near to the horror icons that the Devs said they are looking for.
Before the Candyman film was set to release "way after the next chapter release", it was set to release very close to the next chapter release. Guess what happened in the mean time?
-
Uh... no. If the trial is one-sided, that's a problem with the matchmaking and requires a matchmaking solution, not a complete rework of the game mechanics.
