How about if a survivor is on the hook and the killer is not near, only the gen with the lowest progression can be worked at. That would give an incentive not to camp. Why not just change it that way?
Because that would be abused by killers who would stand just outside the radius and rush back as soon as someone was unhooked.
-
OP, I don't mean to be a downer, but the first year anniversary was the best. Although I'm enjoying this one, it also feels kinda "empty", from a gameplay standpoint.

you could just make it so that the survivors die slower or don't die at all when the killer is camping
Already tried and abused by survivors.

can you tell me how/when was it tried and how it was abused? honest question. Also, would it be possible to improve the system instead of removing it?
The basic "punish the killer for being near the hook" idea was tried in the very first PTB, all the way back in 2016. The problem with the idea is the "near the hook" bit, which is what survivors can easily abuse.
-
Already tried and abused by survivors... Stop thinking of punishing the killer for camping and think of rewarding him for not camping.

Because you get to brag you got them during the event. Your achievement won't suddenly vanish.

There's more than one podium, but I'm not sure how many. Last trial there were two.

I play a pink bunny legion as my main now, Im all about fun just calling it as I see it. You literally shot down my LGBT DLC idea so just saying
Just for the record, drag isn't an LGBT-exclusive thing. It started with heterosexual men, in fact.
I'm assuming you're the person who said something like "let's not reveal anything about the current characters and instead add an entire DLC for it", to which I replied something along the lines of "or they could treat LGBT characters' lore like they've been treating straight characters' and not make us pay for it". I stand by that assertion, on the basis that there are already LGBT characters in the game, it's just we don't know who they are.
-
@DrDeepwound said:
Last week the people in this thread: "We just want something subtle like Adam being gay"
This week the same people: "we need drag queens in the game"
When I said they needed to have a LGBT DLC, even some in this thread shot down the idea "thats not what the LGBT community wants" now they in this thread demanding Drag Queens LOL
Who said we needed drag queens? One person, who joined the forum 4 days ago, said they want drag queens. I don't see anyone saying we need them, it's just meant to be a fun cosmetic. Are people not allowed to have fun in video games any more?
-
Was there an update or is this entirely server-side?

You know they will never put this kind of character or an openly gay one ( i meant openly, David, one day you ll have to come out of the locker ) because too much homophobics and stupid killers will target them every game just for this reason
They already implied they would. We should not kowtow to homophobes.

I do "fully grasp" how much of a pain in the ass it used to be. I personally have every single killer and survivor prestige 3 as of this moment - far more time put into the game than the month or two required to get legacy on all of the 4 killers available back then.
"Month or two", right...
Here are some differences:
- Bloodwebs used to be much bigger.
- Bloodpoint gain used to be much smaller. There were fewer interactions back then and they rewarded you with less BPs.
- Fewer BP offerings.
- The BP offerings back then gave smaller bonuses, to the point it was actually possible to lose BPs if you scored below a certain amount in a certain category.
- The Bloodweb animations used to take much, much longer. That alone could have you spend several minutes just clicking on the Bloodweb.
- Bloodwebs were more expensive.

Furries like (not necessarily in a sexual way) anthropomorphic animals. That's it.

"they thought they covered all because they couldn't find the remaining causes" ......... This reminds me: "3.6 roentgen, not great, not terrible" scene, if you know what i mean.
No, it's more like:
- You go to see a doctor because you have a stuffy nose and are coughing a lot.
- Doctor orders some tests and figures out it's your allergies acting up, prescribes medication for that.
- Stuffy nose improves, but turns out the cough was due to lung cancer. Doctor didn't think of that because "allergies" covered the whole thing and there was no reason to suspect anything else.
They fixed the cause that they could find based on the bug reports. Maybe if more people filed bug reports and provided information about their builds they could've found the other causes right away.
-
Punishing the killer for playing efficiently will not work. If you want killers to play in a different way, then make it worth their while.
The idea of applying debuffs to the killer for being in the vicinity of the hooked survivor in particular was already tried, and before you say the debuffs were different, the issue is the "proximity to the hook" bit, not the debuffs themselves.
-
Because the effort to get it is not matched by anything you can do nowadays. I'm not sure you fully grasp just how much of a pain in the ass it used to be to prestige every single character 3 times.

Because this bug is difficult to reproduce. I played a few killer rounds yesterday and experienced no sound issues whatsoever, so they fixed at least some causes of the bug.

@timbologna said:
why are they called drag queens then...
From my short research, it seems the origin of the term is unclear, but I'm guessing it's to differentiate men who dress like women (drag queens) from women who dress like men (drag kings).

Right, but what I am asking is, where does that justification come from? Do people just assume "FNAF looks like it's a kids' game"? I'm asking if it's based on an actual metric, or if it's just an assumption you have heard other people make based on its style.
From what I've heard, it comes from observations of the (vocal) fan base.

There are a few years between those Movies and FNAF tho. They felt way different back then. I guess something like the original Halloween or Friday the 13th would not have such an big impact if they would have been released today.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1378410#Comment_1378410
Guys in Bunny Costumes following a Survivor...Hm...
Yeah, that Legion skin is just ######### ridiculous. I have no idea why the devs thought that was a good idea.
-
@Rydog said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1378369#Comment_1378369
Where are you drawing this conclusion from about FNAF's fan base?
Also, more broadly to the original question: People don't consider it "real" horror for whatever reason. Heck, people came out to criticize Silent Hill too, just because it wasn't drawn from a movie. I think this is unfair and gatekeep-y. Horror can take many forms. And, as far as the tone, I'll remind you all that we also have a man who dresses up in an elephant suit, a girl with a bunny costume, and those goofy Legion cosmetics introduced last patch. The tone of the game can wind up being pretty silly already.
Hey, what about Ash? Or what if Tucker and Dale were added as survivors? Or what if there were a Toxic Avenger chapter one day, or a Hatchet chapter, or a Child's Play chapter or something? Those are all pretty ridiculous, but they're still horror.
I'm just saying what the most common justification is. My personal opinion for not wanting it is that I just don't think it's scary or even good. It's a puzzle game with jumpscares.
-
Did they suicide on the hook afterward?
-
Because kids usually ruin multiplayer games and FNAF's fan base is primarily composed of children. That's the most common justification, anyway. Personally, I just don't think FNAF is scary.

I don't, but some people do, yes. Men used to wear make-up and wear skirts not too long ago, you know.
-
@timbologna said:

@Todgeweiht said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1378028#Comment_1378028
Yes, men dressing up as women and doing sexual gestures and dances has absolutely nothing to do with sexuality.
I'll take the word of the men I mentioned above over your notion that a man wearing a skirt can't be straight.
-
@timbologna said:
I mean with all the other issues at hand such as perk reworks, character rebalancing, and things like that if they prioritize something to pander to a specific community I doubt killers will appreciate it.
I don't think the cosmetics department is in charge of game balance. If they were, the changes to characters and perks would come in the form of redesigned icons.
-
Most people who cross dress are straight (surprise!) and nobody said "OR YOURE NOT WITH US". If you don't like something, you're free not to buy it. That's the free market right there.
-
Previously killers had different lunge ranges, but the devs thought this made them inconsistent.
-
Refuse to engage in her mind games and you gain distance more often than not.
Say you dropped a pallet and she's standing still.
If you engage in the mind game, one of two things can happen:
- You're right that she's phasing and the situation is now the same, but with you on different sides.
- You're wrong and she injures or grabs you.
The best possible scenario here is that the situation doesn't get worse. The worst is that you're #########.
Now say you just keep running (i.e., refuse to engage in her mind game):
- If she's phasing to the other side of the pallet, she still has to chase after you. Meanwhile, you gained some distance.
- If she isn't phasing to the other side of the pallet, she still has to chase after you. Meanwhile, you gained a lot of distance.
The best possible scenario here is that you gain a lot of distance. The worst is that you gain less distance.
So, to summarize, if you engage in her mind game, the best you can hope for is that you end up in the same situation. If you don't, the best is that you waste her time.

Except Dwelf still works since Dwight is supposed to be that "lonely kid with no support" stereotype, hence why he wears that outfit to earn money.
Same applies to Elephant Clown ( he's disguised as a funny mascot to lure people) and Pilot Ace ( Ace being all tryhard and hip, trying to make himself look cool.
And the survivors got bored of being in the Fog for [insert massive amount of time here] and decided to see what it was like to dress in drag. Problem solved.

Zero chance this occurs normally, it's happening because your offering didn't get applied. This has been going on since last week's patch, without any acknowledgement.

Why does anyone care? You still did what you did, this doesn't change that. If I have a 1000 € salary and someone else gets 1000 € as a lottery prize, is my money suddenly worth less? Is my effort now useless because someone else got the same thing in an easier way?
