Well lets ask ourselves ''is the Stalk resetting upon getting hit actually beneficial and fair for Survivors''?

SCENARIO---Meg is at a Gen that's 85% done and Ghostface gets most of his Stalk on her before she sees him and breaks him out. Ghostface realizes it's now or never and stabs her resetting her progress and she runs off while Ghost Kicks the Gen. Meg runs into a corner and starts healing herself and Ghostface gets his Stealth back and finds her.

So in this Scenario Meg is benefited by her losing her Stalk as she can heal to full and Ghostface would have to start his entire Stalk all over again thereby being unable to instantly down her after she heals.

The counter to this scenario is that Ghostface is STILL STALKING HER, whether she has progress or not she is still being Stalked and is probably going to go down a few seconds from now because she doesn't know he's there. The only real thing that matters is how much Stalk she has which is nothing.

I Propose----Stalk is only reset on a Survivor when they enter the Dying State on the ground.

If Stalk can't be reset at all then it leads to some nasty plays at the very end where Ghost has been saving his own personal NOED and insta-stalks them. If their progress gets reset on the ground then Ghost still has to start over when they get off the hook.

    I actually agree with you

I would make it where hitting them you lose some progress but not all. Or maybe not idk I'm a killer main so trying to think of the survivors side.

because myers doesn't loss progress like ghostface, don't tell me you plan to make myers loss his power gauge like legion do 😂 (Just a joke)

  • @Rin_is_my_waifu said:

Shhhh don't tell this in public. Survivors still think it is a trash perk

RIP Myers, never get out of Tier 1😂

  • Survivor: Spine Chill (Later with its buff, I will never get grabbed and jumpscared again)

Killer: BBQ (Sweet delicious extra bloodpoint)

  • I wonder why people aren't reading this post.. I think this is a great idea to buff his stealth

    This statement is fundamentally wrong.

    Let me tell you why.

1.) It isn't a free win with Nurse. I don't know how many times I can type this but if you play Nurse they don't just fall on the ground and you get hooks. You have to use her skillfully and read, position, and time your swings + blinks right or you are going to miss and going to extend the chase.

2.) She is literally the only killer I can play where 2 gens aren't done in the first minute of the game. Why? Well simply put she's actually a threat and she can actually get to the gens faster than it takes to walk across the map. Both of these things are going to suffer with the change.

So yeah. I'm not going to try and play this game when every single match ends up being the same toxic genrush because that's what the gameplay has (de)evolved into.

I think you should master her again with the nerf, and kill every single survivors in your path. After that, let's see if people still cry for further nerf ^^

  • @derperson said:

Yeah, sometimes people can be dumb about ghostface. But, if they get more than 27 meters from you, they're going to be too far to benefit from stalking them. Unless you store it or have an add on, the exposed status effect wears off after 45 seconds. Due to run speeds, killers only gain .6 m/s or 27 meters over the course of 45 seconds.

    wow.. that's useful information

He has the ability to remove his terror radius and red stain at will while maintaining his speed. He can pull off gen grabs all game, better than Myers in Tier 1 on account he is still fast and he is much shorter, thus harder to see coming. His skill can help in chases too, you will see how much even good survivors rely on the red stain to deal high walled loops.

Stalking is definitely worth trying, but you will have a much better time if you just use it when the conditions are perfect than trying hard to make them so.

Actually aren't they making the red stain non-penetrating the walls if i remembered correctly?

Both are good, Freddy's got the rework and people are learning Ghostface is actually better WITHOUT stalking/marking people.

i planned on stalking people if i buy him, because if you play like that, he is just a better wraith

  • Myers is the weakest killer in the game if he stays in T1 (without add-ons of course). You can occasionally grab people off gen, but with this change, that's almost impossible

So..T1 Myers need to stalk with 105% to even tier up.. with this nerf, you will be wasting too much time to tier up just to become a M1 killer with smaller terror radius.

You know the early game the survivors is the strongest, right? So by the time you tier up, 2 or 3 gens are done because "you didn't apply enough pressure"

Edit: i'm talking about survivors that bring spine chill and premonition. I always see people bring spine chill here just to counter spirit

i agree on buffing solo to swf level too but there is a lot of killers against this so this will never happen and i am still sad that they did not put kindred as a normal thing and not a perk and if this hurt camping killers then they should just remove the killer aura reading from kindred

Lol.. if it can never happen, then this game will forever be dominated by SWF, and the solo players will be very miserable

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/787887#Comment_787887

yes but if you think about it the devs also removed the annoying things for killers too like old decisive strike, double pallets, pallet vacuum, made the maps bright too see survivors easier, infinites, and also buffed useless perks like dying light yes i know dying light is bad alone but it is very strong with thiccphobia, in my opinion the only bad thing for killers now is depip squad like swf but you rarely meet them and if they nerf gen speed it will hurt solo more solo now is very bad like bad teammates everywhere and getting rid of pallet looping is impossible just like camping and tunneling

I agree on this, but they just have to buff solo to SWF level, and buff killers to that level too

I think there is no other way to balance the game because you cannot bring down or nerf SWF without nerfing solo too

wasnt her cooldown recharge starting waaay to early in PTB because of a bug?

The people were testing the bugged version and hated it, not the "intended" even worse thing.

yes, the recharge starts the moment you swing your weapon after blink in PTB. So when the fatigue stops, both blinks are almost recharged. That's why people say it plays the same as before

  • @justarandy said:

The funny part: there were only 2 types of addons which needed a change and it was range and additional blinks.

agree, I don't know why they go all out to change all those add-ons and "slightly" basekit nerf

  • @anarchy753 said:

Because other add ons provide beneficial effects as well.

If you can't play around a tiny cooldown, like most people were already able to successfully on the PTB, you can spend your add on slots to play Nurse essentially without a cooldown.

In doing so you're opting out of increased range, faster charging, lower fatigue, or the many strange effects on her new add ons JUST to be without a 2 second cooldown.

The major difference is that now you can't be without a cooldown AS WELL AS having huge range, or faster charging, etc.

but most of those add-ons have their drawbacks too (like both ultra rares), so I think even the basekit is not change, those add-ons will still be fine, not op like current live version

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/787764#Comment_787764

well I remember someone on the forums said that one of the devs said if the killer is NOT fun for the survivors then it is a problem but a forum member said this it may not be true

Really? Then what about the other way around? If something of survivors that is not fun for the killer, is it a problem? After all, we all are humans, so there are definitely things that are not fun for the killers

  • @[Deleted User] said:

survivors can't pallet loop her for 5 gens this why they complain...but if you ask about my opinion this is the most perfect nerf for her why? well if you nerf her blink range she become like the new legion slow and not fun nerf her to 1 blink then it is rip nurse nerf her blink speed it would be the same as blink range so this is the best nerf for her probably...

Or simply don't change her basekit, it is pointless if you can just use add-ons to have her back.

If she can destroy absolutely any SWF team currently without add-ons, then her problem has not changed, except you need to use add-ons

If you really want to nerf her, don't use recharge mechanics. No one likes it. Nerf her blink distance a bit is good if they buff her movement speed to compensate. That way, you can still play the same as before, and don't punish new player so much

  • @Omans said:

If I don't use addons as any other killer I don't expect to be able to consistently beat the best survivors. But this is what nurses are asking for. It's absolutely absurd. They want to maintain their perch atop their one-killer tier, all without the need to use something all other killers are expected to use at high ranks. Save your "basekit nurse" games for the potatoes where nurse will still reign supreme. And for facing the best players? Now you'll actually have to use your addons too, like other killers. And yet nurse will still be either the top killer or tied with spirit. Boo-hoo. And someone said she will be B-tier now. Ha..

If I get a bad map I don't whine that my killer should be stronger, I look at the real issue - map size and distances between gens on those maps. Yet nurse players in these threads mention big corn maps and lerys as if these maps warrant nurse being the way she is. Again, absurd. If I, a huntress main, whined about lerys, how silly would it look? It is an awful huntress map, but does that mean huntress needs more power? No. Fix the actual issue - the maps.

SWF too strong? Their most powerful tool (Insta heals) was nerfed (could still use more nerfs in my opinion). A nurse will still have the advantage against SWF teams on a neutral map. What more do you nurses want? It truly is absurd the entitlement in these threads of nurses who overestimate their own skill, wanting to beat the best survivors (which through the statistics released by the devs is only 1 in 20 games of full 4-man SWF teams, and by simple logic it is obvious the number of no-fun get out no matter what as fast as possible teams is much lower).

As old nurse if you ever lost to those teams it was because you didn't play well, or the map was bad. Old nurse was too overtuned, and the faster you accept it the better.

Great, another add-ons dependent killer. We don't want to consistently beat those SWF, we only want to have a fair game, even without add-ons.

From what you said, you're saying that those SWF should beat and destroy any killers without add-ons consistently. If thats the case, should survivors that don't bring any items should get destroyed by killers? (Currently, SWF can beat any killers even without items, sometimes even make the game one-sided for survivors)

Also, what's the point of nerfing her basekit if you can just use add-ons to have similar old basekit nurse?

I wonder who said "Killers shouldn't require add-ons to do well" in this forum

  • At this point, i'm not sure if they did read our PTB feedbacks or not... (for example, nurse rework feedback)

I wouldn't be surprise if they release PTB nurse without any change..

  • We need fake generators, fake survivors, fake pallets, fake windows, fake doctors that can chase survivors...

  • @TragicSolitude said:

I really don't think console Nurse can take this change to her base kit.

I think, if she needed a nerf, they should've just increased her fatigue time and/or reduced her blink range by a couple meters. Adding a recharge mechanic is not fun. And whatever sound cue they use to indicate that her blinks have recharged is going to get really annoying when you hear it constantly all match.

A nerf I can understand. Adding a new, not fun mechanic to an already complex killer? I just don't get it.

Because devs love recharge mechanics.. every killer since spirit has a recharge, included reworked killers

Soon every killer has to recharge their power

Don't listen to them, freddy is a fun killer to play, and is fun to face against. People who complain about him, just want the old freddy back where he was the worst killer in the game.

Then i guess i'll buy it on next sales (which i think is on next week)

  • I start to see more and more of these kind of threads about how unfun freddy is.. i was planning to buy that DLC, but now, i don't know anymore.. should i buy it or buy others?

  • I usually don't use add-ons unless i want to play scratch mirror myers :) Also, i play all the killers i own, not just top tiers

But you're right, i almost never seen content creator play without add-ons.. i really like to see how they perform without using add-ons..

  • That's why i don't run slowdown perks on any killers, because no one likes to hold m1 longer

PS: part of the reason is i don't own those perks.. (ruin, pop)

  • I play any killers i have with no add-ons.. kind of want to see if i can get to rank 1 or not

Ps: so far i only reach rank 8 once..

  • What if you don't use any slowdown perks? Because i do, and i never rank up past rank 8

  • I think if you want to get all 60 serum, you need to complete the rift.. which is difficult and unrealistic lol

  • Undetectable killers is detected by survivors with spine chill.. nice

  • I use whispers to find survivors as soon as possible

  • @Peanits said:

It would be a little backwards to have that, to be fair. The biggest thing for a killer is building up pressure early on. You'd ideally like to be as strong as possible as soon as possible. Getting stronger with each hook/kill is neat on paper, but in practice, it just means that you're weak when you need to down people the fastest and way stronger than you need to be when there's only one or two survivors left. At that point, the ball is already in your court. You don't need to be crazy strong when there's only two people left, it'd be overkill. Having someone dead on its own skews things in your favour massively; that's one less person that can do gens or go for a save.

There are some perks that work that way, though, if that's what you're after. Devour Hope, Dying Light, Huntress Lullaby, Thanataphobia, etc.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/768227#Comment_768227

That's a very interesting perspective, but no, that's not the case. There's actually an excess of killers right now, so that theory is already right out the window. Killer queue times on average tend to be longer than survivor queue times (outside of Japan) at the moment. Beyond that, I'm not exactly sure what you mean by base kit nerfs for survivors. Survivors don't have powers that you can change, only perks. Most of the survivor perks have been nerfed significantly over the years, and even the basics such as vaulting have been toned down dramatically. Even the level design has shifted to more unsafe pallets.

I could grab you some old footage to show you how much things have changed, if you like, but choosing to ignore anything that doesn't support your point doesn't strengthen your case.

So is there any plan for Tier 1 Myers? It's too painful to get out of Tier 1 just to become a normal M1 killer with smaller terror radius.

You need to waste so much time stalking survivors at the beginning, which is the time when survivors are strongest. By the time you get out of Tier 1, 1-2 gens are done if survivors know what they are doing

  • @TheBean said:

@OmegaXII No they are disconnecting because of things they are finding that ruin their gaming experience. It just isn't one aspect of the game with Nurse that causes them to disconnect.

These kind of ppl disconnects when facing any killers that are strong (Like billy, spirit), even those who play well with weaker killers

Isn't it unhealthy that they only face killers that can be bullied?

  • @TheBean said:

This is a funny post for a few reasons...

That poster shows the exact reason why she needed to be nerf'ed. It is funny to show how powerful she was, then what she will become, then complain about how she's losing her competitiveness. So you just showed how overpowered she was and that the Devs want to bring her movement more inline with the other killers.

    --

I don't care about tournaments... Using that as an argument aswell is bullshit, since, IMO, a big portion of the community don't / can't participate in them.

People will still have tourneys, they just change the rules to suit. So... using that as an argument for not making changes to the game is BS.

    --

I get it though.... If you enjoyed playing a character in a game allot, then the developers change it... That can be frustrating. Some people can't roll with the punches and feel they need to "stand up" to this injustice... rather than just accepting it as a "for the greater good" for the game.

    --

Maybe understanding the reasoning for the increase in disconnects might get people to accept there must be changes to the game.

What do you think is going to happen once disconnecters start getting "punished" when the reasoning for them disconnecting isn't getting addressed?

Once the disconnecting punishments come in, there will be a drop in the player base, but at least they might be able to cushion the fall a bit by removing some of the crap that is causing players to disconnect in the first place.

    --

Who really cares about GOD Nurse players having to relearn their Nurse play, or stay GODs with them, cause they will still be good with the Nurse anyways... You know they can actually branch out and play other killers instead aswell.

    Funny. Giggles!

People disconnects because of 5 blinks and omega blinks, not base nurse. Base nurse is fair for both side

I applaud you for checking it, I just assuming it was right from the copy pasta, but the point still stands of her maximum potential or skill ceiling being lowered. Not as much as I originally thought however, it’s still there.

So is DbD really trying to remove the competitive viability of killers? At least no addons no perks no items, competitive play.

I think they balance the game with add-ons in mind (Means add-ons dependent)

Because people think that if a killer can do well with no add-ons, that killer is op because with add-ons he is more than op. And so they ask for nerfs (In this case, nurse)

  • when I play killer, the first gen is fixed before I even get there in first minute..

    pErfEcTlY bAlaNce

  • I think it's a bug that takes the longest time for devs to acknowledge it and fix it

  • @Mochan said:

Well it's an extension of how killers never die. Survivors can retain their item and add on if they live, but most the time they don't and just die.

Hence why killers can only use an add on once, period. And it's gone after.

I don't think it needs adjusting, even with DCs in the equation. Killers get way, way more blood points per game. So it's not that imbalanced.

Dev is trying to buff survivor's blood point gain... so that's not a valid reason anymore

also, survivors can always grab things out from chests, even pink keys, unlike killers always need to use the add-ons

for me I think 3k or 4k games should reward the killer by not consuming their add-ons.

  • I got called a noob killer when I 4k as plague.. So you get insult no matter what you do.. just say gg and turn off the chat

  • so that means basically you loss your second blink every time you blink to travel the map, which is a net loss too

  • @OmegaXII said:

i think what people didn't realize that it's her map control take a huge hit. Instead of blinking right away, you forced to spend 3.5 sec walking instead of blinking. so you basically trade the blinking speed with walking speed in that 3.5 sec

Also, this is not something you can get good. you can't possibly increase your map control just by playing like a god, like M1 killers, you still move 115% regardless your experience

So, this nerf is a limit, not a good nerf.

  • i think what people didn't realize that it's her map control take a huge hit. Instead of blinking right away, you forced to spend 3.5 sec walking instead of blinking. so you basically trade the blinking speed with walking speed in that 3.5 sec
