Maybe this will open your eyes, I am a rank 1 killer with 5k hours and his 110 doesn't bother me at all. It is the PTB and he will get reworked.

What matters is he is fun to play as, which is more important than a killer being good or bad because a killer can get a full rework. We have seen this with legion, Freddy, and bubba.

I don’t need to open my eyes. Bhvr track record with ptb is there for everyone to see. Re-examine who’s eyes are wide shut atm.

if you don’t want people speaking truth to white knights, don’t put dumb ass click bait titles.

You didn't read my post, not about gameplay... Again everyone knows the killer sucks

I read your post. Simply don’t care about his aesthetics. I care about the devs playing against each other during initial testing and thinking that this killer is soooooo powerful he should be 110.

if that doesn’t disturb the Comunity nothing will. killer dlc drive this game and if this is what we are to expect..... yikes.

  • @Sand said:

Now obviously the title baits you in on actual gameplay but I think the trickster opens new avenues for what future killers can be. The trickster is a very non scary killer that plays more like an action game which means he opens up the game to new killers we would never think of seeing. Killers like John wick who has to kill survivors to see his dog again would be just as intimidating as the trickster and are now possible. Now if this is positive or negative will be seen later, but I do like all the potential avenues for cross overs the new killer presents. We could even get marvel assassins like elektra showing up in the game (which would somehow be more intimidating than the trickster).

Opens up a new avenue for killer? Rofl.

this is the devs attempt to get the Comunity to accept a 110 killer that has a dog$#!% power.

    again, he is 110!!

if this is the way you want killers to be in the future...... have fun with bots because killers above rank 19 know this killer is garbage.

(You know a killer is bad when even if you made him 115, he’d still be weak)

  • Enjoy your 45 minute lobbies in the alternate universe where this ridiculous idea is implemented.

That said, as a console killer you can still deal with it.... It's just about as much an educated guess as figuring out which end of the pallet spirit will end up on

i understand this. Have been playing killer since ps4 release and don’t have too much issue because I play with 100% sensitivity and am use to the movements so it’s easy to make educated “guesses” as to where survivors are moving to without seeing them. The point was answering OP question. A lot of console killers I see clearly don’t play with 100%.

  • On PS4 original the frames and turn rate simply can’t keep up with a survivor that is on the killer turning quickly.

it’s not a case of killer “falling” for anything, but a total lack of a target to visually track.

  • its a natural result of nerfing the ruin/undying combo. Killers aren’t rewarded as much for taking multiple chases as there are only two “ruin” totems.

this was pointed out as a likely result many times in these forums prior to the nerf to undying.

  • @glitchboi said:

The aura reveal on lit totems made Thrill of the Hunt a useless perk, or at least made it INCREDIBLY inferior to Undying. Ruin is meant to be a perk for the early-game, it was never meant to be used throughout the entire game. Undying basically made it so that you had to cleanse like 4 Ruins, which was ridiculous.

I think Ruin Undying is still a great combo and still works well.

Except the devs stated themselves that current ruin was designed as an endgame perk. Try again?

  • Or maybe if someone has their feelings hurt they could ...... they could...... toggle the chat off themselves? 🧐🤔

Yeah no. The Ruin/Undying nerf is just the latest excuse. If you want to play scummy, then God bless, but don't pretend it has anything to do with a nerf that honestly didn't harm it that much.

You are welcome to your ideas to OP question as I am to mine. Enjoy laying on the floor

From what I could see through Kindred, the other two survivors were working on gens in the distance. I was the only one nearby for the save and the killer did not leave the hook at all. I had to rush in with BT to prevent my teamie from hitting stage 2. Why do you ask?

Because generally speaking, survivors cause a lot of what is called tunneling and camping by very bad play. Due to the imbalance that exists with points/time in getting a safe unhook, survivors in solo q 95% of the time stop everything and hump the hook. Anyone who plays killer knows this.

I asked because it seems like 2 of your teammates understood that the person on the hook has a large amount of time that they can hang there. They probably understood that getting gens done instead of humping the hook was far more beneficial than grabbing immediately for no reason. It’s a good thing you had them on your team to do gens

  • @Gylfie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1950435#Comment_1950435

Just played another game, my teammate got tunneled out at four gens remaining while I saved him with BT and tried everything I could to take aggro. But sure, I'm the problem.

While this was happening, how many gens were getting done? How many survivors were crouched waiting to get that hook save?

    I suspect we already know.

My issue is there's so many killers doing this. It's making the game experince even worst. 3 in a row and there's more to come. I mean because the killer wants to win so badly u deny one person their ability to play. U have someone de pip or drank for the sake of your rank or your pip. My issue is a lot of people are doing it. Its very very affective. Is this gona be every killers strategy??? I can only imagine

This is a direct result of the whining about and subsequent nerfing of undying. The ruin/undying meta allowed killers to roam the map more and go for multiple hooks. Now killer do not have that luxury and will do the absolute next best thing. Slug at 5 gens and tunnel a player out.

this was easily predictable (as I did when the nerf was announced) and it will only get worse lol.

    careful what you wish for

  • So the issue with trying to “gauge” out the match is waiting slightly too long. It’s quite difficult to go easy at the start and then try to play the catch up game on killer. It’s a very ridiculous thing to try and whine about.

let’s flip the script..... you as a survivor should let the killer get your first hook state for free right at the start of the match so you will lessen up on gens. Sound fair? Of course not because then you as the survivor have to play the catch up game because you are down hook states with no gens.

just stop whining and play the game. As a matter of fact, go play killer and try to play all fair. Let’s see how that goes.

  • this will sound bad but it isn’t aimed at the players..... I really really hope dbd devs break the game even more. I sincerely hope that their upcoming fixes for their fixes renders this dumpster fire unplayable.

i do not wish the demise of this game. On the contrary, the only thing these incompetent, leaderless devs listen to is declining sales and declining player count. So I want them to continue doing the most expedient things possible and breaking their game to cause the aforementioned things they actually care about.

please devs, keep living by the bhvr creed “if you are going to do something, do it half assed.” It is beginning to catch up with you.

Yes because targeting a player and ruining their fun on a game with a ######### load of waiting times isn’t a bad thing...

    This is a pvp game

  • @Hex_Llama said:

OhTofu had an idea to change Hex perks that I think would solve this issue -- basically, make it so killers can only run one hex per match, but the hex starts out super strong and survivors have to weaken it gradually by destroying all five totems (or else they can choose to leave it up and take the risk). When I play survivor, I think hunting for totems is a fun alternative objective, but a lot of the time I don't do it for time efficiency. If it was the only way to disable a super strong hex effect, I'd do it more often.

In the absence of that solution, i think the next best thing would be some other kind of scavenger hunt -- something that forces people to move around and try to gather something or activate something besides gens.

We had this already.... hex undying. Survivors still wouldn’t cleanse totems so the devs did.

  • I’m sorry, but all this feels like is that bhvr took something good (old HUD), gave us something severely lacking (the current monstrosity), and are now offering the same monstrosity toned down a bit as some sort of compromise. This isn’t really fixing the issue. It’s merely moving the issue around.

there are so many nice Comunity generated ideas for a good, concise HUD, but bhvr just can’t get past this nonsense. If folks accept mediocrity, they will give it to them by the truck load.

  • Bhvr, the positioning is very important and I’m glad you got that from the negative feedback. Unfortunately, moving around a very badly designed HUD doesn’t make the very badly designed HUD any less bad.

you really need to start with the actual design first, then move that around.

the foundation of this HUD design is busted.

  • @Ryuzaki said:

This is a slight improvement but why do they have to insist on the vertical stacked placement of the character portraits? It still takes up most of the left portion of the screen.

I agree. This is marginally better. They simply will not go back to something that is simple and conveys the info players need in a small space.

  • @Gibberish said:

It's a little underpowered if anything. Not trash, but not good either. If it didnt give bonus bloodpoints it's usage rate would be way, way, way less than it currently is.

Without the bp, I’d run thrilling over it immediately.

  • @RocketPenguin said:

YEssss dude get rid of more skill expression from survivors thats definetly makes the game better...

I got an even better idea how about we limit the maximum turnrate of a killers camera? Its make the game more realistic and we can stop huntress players from putting flickshots into their complilations on youtube. :D

The turn rate is already limited on console lol. That isn’t even taking into account that the frames literally cannot keep up with the spin.

  • @AsherFrost said:

Imagine not wanting to immediately undo the last 6 months of working on a project just because people on the forum are whining. How dare they not immediately cave to y'all who think so little of their time?

If that is the product of 6 months of hard work, they need to reevaluate the folks who are doing said work. It shows in the resulting product.

  • This is just a case of “wag the dog.” They don’t care one bit about our feedback. They had the exact same feedback during and after the ptb. They ignored that feedback like they always do and like they will do again.

I don’t have the numbers so this is purely conjecture, but I’d imagine rift/cosmetic sales plunged. Combine that with how much of a pile of manure the hit boxes are, they are scared to lose players.

this has absolutely nothing to do with their desire to all of a sudden care about player feedback. It’s pure self preservation for folks whose collars may be getting a bit warm because they have provided zero quality control at that company.

  • As an aside, a lot of very bad saves lead to “tunnel”. It can be overzealous teammates humping the hook for save points while the killers terror radius is still there or the super immersed savers that rescue and go hide. I’d suggest gluing kindred to your loadout. Also, try running windows for a while so you can learn pallet spawns and avoid dead zones.

and honestly, give some arguments as to why the new HUD is better then the old HUD.

If you read the discussion he started yesterday, you’d understand. It’s as if he’s desperately trying to become a fog whisperer or something. I’ve never seen someone try so hard to catch the attention of the devs through sheer flattery. There’s absolutely no shame in his game.

You tried this whole “ungrateful” thing in your post. It was panned there as it will be here. The game was not given to us, we paid for it. No matter how many times you try this line of thought, it won’t make any more sense than the last time to tried it.

How did they not listen to the community? I keep seeing people say this, but I don't see where the community complained. just 9 or 10 people on the forums, which is not representative of the tens of thousands of players.

There are countless polls and posts regarding the UI.

on steam alone dbd has shed 10,000 players in the last 24 hours.

it seems like people just stick their head in the sand regarding bad dev decisions.

An opinion over this UI is A: It looks good and B: It looks bad

just because a vast amount of players choose B which you disagree with doesn't mean we are idiots. Also opinions over this will usually take this form in one way or another which is "is it good?"

In features yes this is an improvement but that is where it ends as this UI just looks bad. It doesn't matter if you disagree with this or not that's your opinion but opinion A is far outnumbered by opinion B.

Keep going with that. Meanwhile in steam alone the game lost 10,000 players in the last 24 hours.

You are definitely right about the resistant to change - also, we've had this HUD for over 4 years, so of course we've got used to it and people usually have a knee jerk, emotional reaction to change. I do think there are some very valid points made and I hope that when the PTB goes live, that people will give the new HUD a chance and test it properly and see where/if there are any major issues.

You make a good point about other overlays working with it.

Wow this has aged horribly. It was so funny to see the chosen few shill for the HUD during and directly after the ptb. It was like the vast vast majority of players were all morons who couldn’t differentiate between good change and bad change. nice job. The game is in a wonderful state atm because it’s filled with sycophants who work there and think exactly like your comments.

keep thinking your player base are all idiots who can’t have an original opinion.

  • @Klakky said:

all those white knights from previous polls telling everyone how dumb they were to think that the forums are a good indication of the overall player sentiment seem to be quiet now. It’s amazing how this happens time after time. These people empower the devs to keep doing things like this.

I really hope this game takes a massive numbers hit (enough to get the bosses in bhvr to take their head out of their posterior and manage the employees) for the over all health of the game. The status quo lately for these devs is atrocious. It feels like people designing things don’t even play video games (HUD).

I personally feel this is the devs simply giving up on their promise to fix console frame rates. Survivors could take advantage of console killer frames by getting close and 360. The frames simply could not track the survivor. so as opposed to fixing frames, they are just bandaiding things.

Dude, I'm 48 and my first system was freaking Pong. I have also had at least 2 major stroke events. Guess what? I have had ZERO issues with the new HUD.

Now I'm a firm believer in everyone has a right to their opinions and preferences. That said, I couldn't give be even half a woodland squat about the thoughts of most of the entitled, whiney, bullying chronic self-flagellators in this community and more specifically on these forums. Not because I disagree because I LOVE me some civilized and lively discourse. The people flooding the forums with posts that amount to a toy store temper tantrum and jumping on anyone showing even a modicum of positivity towards the changes barely deserve their voices to be heard any more than the caricature laden rich boy bad guys from practically any 80s teen comedy did, let alone to impact changes in a community that is far larger than their minuscule excuses for comprehensive capabilities can work out WITH instructions.

But sure, go ahead and play the "Im older and wiser" card like your opinions are somehow more correct. Well, that must mean MINE is even better than yours, right? No? Then either quite complaining (like our and older generations claim Millenials and Gen Zs do) and grow up and play the game or shut up and leave without making a scene. Because people who act like this won't be and shouldn't be missed.

For someone who doesn’t care, you sure seem to care.

Yeah It might of ticked people off that they didn’t listen or bother to make changes regarding the negative UI feedback but they’re still trying. I mean, look, they nerfed DS and Object, something people have been screaming for 4 years to get fixed. Yeah it shouldn’t have took 4 years but it’s here. Maybe they just wanted to use this new UI hud. It’s THEIR game at the end of the day. We’re just the ones that decide to play it or not.

This is exactly why the devs do the shot they do.

you are taking something about balance (perks) and trying to lump it in with the parts of the game that make it functional. (UI) they are two entirely different things. Every pvp game will have adjustments done to “even the playing field” , but those adjustments don’t have any effect on the actual playing of the game. Each side will like/dislike nerfs/buffs. UI is universal to every player.

to answer your question, yes I’ll leave this game due to this HUD. It makes playing the game a chore. After around 3000 hours this WILL cause me to stop the game. It will like cause others also.

moral of the story: don’t change things in your game that makes the actual playing of it unfun.

    Happy?!

So by telling the devs the things that are quite bad with this new UI we are being ungrateful? I fail to see the connection between pointing out very obvious issues with what the decided to do and some level of gratitude we are supposed to show them for that.

this just sounds like white knighting on an entirely new level. Somehow trying to blame the gamers out there for very bad decisions of the devs.

I mean, it is kind-of cool to finally get a say in something. Us console players don't have a PTB therefore the PC players are usually the ones that have more control. Though I will say, nobody asked for a new UI & I have no idea why they decided to change something that didn't need to be changed.

Saldly you have fallen into the trap. We aren’t getting any say into anything lol. The horrible UI is in the game now. That’s all they cared about. To remove it means clearing the move with all the platforms.

  • Look at how cluttered your update to the updated UI is. All that info use to be in one easily discernible spot.

the switch platform with it's small screen is probably why they did this. i'm dreading playing the game because one match gave me eye strain on a 32 inch monitor just to know what gen or survivor was doing what.

Folks with large TVs might as well give up on using this mess. It’s so distracting

  • Here’s an even scummier thing I feel they have done to console......

so they wanted to change animations so that they looked better or some nonsense....

I actually believe it is for a much lazier reason. I’m pretty sure they are giving up on fixing console frame rate. I say this because the animation change was a direct nerf to 360. Why does that matter? Console frames can’t follow 360 on killer. It why you see a lot of console killers whiff it. It’s not because they are bad, it’s because survivors were literally not on the screen.

maybe I’m wrong. Doubt it lol

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1336169#Comment_1336169

Maybe, just maybe, what’s being played is called a ‘game’. A game is meant to be fun for everyone. Not for some scumbag to take the easy option because they’re too bad to get proper kills or more than 4 downs and hooks. You’re clearly a tunneller and you’re trying to justify it. It’s a disgrace and it involves no skill whatsoever.

Tunnellers and facecampers are just people that abuse the fact that survivors need to get saves to progress in the game, and without this, they can’t. So the easy option is to camp and wait for someone to come for them (as they have to) because they’re not skilled enough to leave the person to be unhooked and chase someone else whilst being confident they can re-down that person again. Hence my point that survivors are punished for facecampers and tunnellers, which is wrong.

ANYONE can facecamp and ANYONE can tunnel. Jump on dbd mobile and watch every single killer facecamp. Do you know why? Because they’re new to the game and they’re bad so it’s the only way they can secure at least 1 kill. That’s a fact on a new game and you can see for yourself. There is no skill involved in this whatsoever.

Also, as far as your comment goes about ‘their job is to kill you’... I think that’s blazingly obvious, but the aim of the game is to earn pips and bloodpoints, which comes easier by more downs and hooks on top of chase time. It’s really not that difficult to work it out.

It’s a pvp game bro. What other pvp game do you play where your opponents are supposed to worry about your fun? Please for the love of god tell us. This line of thinking baffles me.
