I'm guessing you don't play survivor much do you?

Tunneling is the most efficient path to killing all 4 survivors. The faster one survivor dies the faster they all die. Logicc
Against a good survivor he will just loop you for 5 gens with the ridiculous number of pallets and windows on most maps. Any good killer knows this, that's why they don't do long chases.

Dead Hard is just so universal and doesn't care about maps, unlike Balanced or Lithe and is activated when the survivor chooses unlike Sprint Burst.
Decisive Strike is used to stop tunnelling (or it is by me anyway) because spme killers dont care that survivors are people too.
Unbreakable is for slugging because they've been slugged for running DS.
Prove Thyself doesn't do much at all.
Most of the Survivor meta perks are just universally applicable.
NoED is just infuriating because there is zero warning. The only other Exposure effect that isn't given to you instantly is Devour Hope. THAT is the main problem that I have.
Dead Hard if used by a good survivor doesn't need it for it to be a "universal" exhaust perk. They use it for the short immunity to ignore punishment.
Decisive Strike if used by a good survivor doesn't need it to "counter tunneling". They use it for a 60 second immunity to ignore punishment.
The perks a majorly flawed for what they are intended to be used for. DS alone I don't understand why there even needs to be a perk to counter tunneling, when tunneling is a quick way to lose as Killer.

Yes more killers have become more toxic recently. Yes they have started to use NOED, Mori's, and Camping more. If you think they behaved this bad before the recent patches, then you are either blind, or ignorant. I'll just toss it up your were too entitled of a survivor to notice the Killer playing in a way that gave you some form of Mercy. I know I have started to play more Toxic as killer since the Ruin nerf, as when Ruin worked it allowed me to play less stressful, and give survivors more of a fun game.
After the change, now I just don't care about the survivors fun, and will use any means to get my 4k, and pip at the same time. It's funny to see the survivors get upset when you get the upper hand and start farming off the last 2 survivors till 1 dc's or they simply give up and suicide.
-
Is there any plans to nerf Surveillance? That was my Ruin replacement.

Hex: The Third Seal
Went against a Hag running this, and it was brutal. Straight up couldn't save anyone, because you can't see anything. Everyone just died on first/second hook because we couldn't find them.

Self-Care is far and away the most commonly used Survivor perk. Dead Hard is common, but it does not appear to be in an unhealthy position.
But at least remove the immunity part of dead hard. I don't understand why that is even an effect you added to Dead Hard. All it get's used for is to get away with performing bad plays.

The console war only exists if you're a child or an idiot.
Lerys looks great but like everything else in this game, it's about as optimized as windows vista.
I'll take your aggressive response, as love and admiration.

Troll thread, not just "because of ruin nerf" actually most people have moved on from that, and admitted that the dev's and balancing team was right when they said "There are better ways to apply map pressure". Which there is. Surprisingly I changed my builds from using Ruin to Surveillance and have still been getting a Silver and higher in Gatekeeper, and overall my experience playing killer has become better.
The threads are mostly about map balance, swf, and not getting rewarded for playing well in other areas. Then there are threads about Gen Speeds, but the dev's and a portion of the community already understand that gen speed isn't the issue, the map sizes are.
-
I'm not sure if all Killers should get a buff to be where he is at right now, or Doctor needs a nerf.
It just doesn't feel fair that a new player to doctor can get a 3-4k against red ranks with just 1 perk Monitor and Abuse

Watch TrU3Ta1ent. Not only is he one of the greatest DBD players on twitch, but he is incredibly educational with his streaming, and youtube videos. He is also very good at both Survivor and Killer. Everyone tries to hate on him, but I look at it this way - he speaks the truth, he speaks from observations you can clearly see in his videos and streams, and at the same time he isn't sitting there and openly mocking large portions of the community
(looking at you Tofu).https://www.twitch.tv/tru3ta1ent
https://www.youtube.com/user/TrU3Ta1ent
I also suggest Cahla as well, though she doesn't really do "tutorials" for killers per say, but she is fairly good at both Killer and Survivor, again is also an incredibly positive community for the community, and if you're having some bad games - her personality is a great pick me up to get back into the game again. I had a match against her once when I was playing "Friendly Freddy", it was THE funnest match I ever had since I started to play this game.
https://www.twitch.tv/cahlaflour
Umbra is good at killer, she is also trying to convince everyone to use Shadowborn until DBD decides to add a FOV slider for killers.
Before anyone comes at me about Tru3Ta1ent, just gonna put it out there - every single one of his "observations" of what was gonna happen to both the game, and community is exactly what did happen. So keep your hate at the door.

I could care less about the xbox ps4 war thing
Watched the video in your thing, come to think of it. We should add an area to the profile to show what platform people mainly use to play dbd - that shows next to or on the same bar their username appears in forum posts.
yes I have already seen you mentioned playing on xboxI think that would greatly help when dev's are reading feedback on the forums.
inb4 Peanits tells me to stop @ing him all the time, but dude out of all the community manager's you are my favorite <3 -
Lol PS4 players don't have that problem. (Yes that was intended for the whole PlayStation VS Xbox war)
Be me on my amazing gaming computer. Wow Lery's looks sick af, keep up the great work BHVR!

I take back all my thoughts on the rework for Doctor being a nerf. In no way, at all, was this a nerf. I couldn't play doctor before, and never really put in the time to learn how. Kept him at level 1, only used him for the easy "Shock 4 ppl lul" daily. Well just used him since the rework to get the Doctor Archive. Whoa and behold. Here I am with new Doctor in hand. Saw other people play him. Well let's see how this works.
I proceeded to potato stomp 3 redranks, and a level 6 purple rank all with meta perks, with a level 1 doctor w/ Monitor and Abuse.
I ######### you ######### not.
Now i'm not saying he's OP, i'm not saying to nerf him.
but no seriously that is broken af - nerf soon -
I was having a really bad time, and the only good time was when I was playing survivor, especially when I played survivor with Friends. We have started a new trend: Anytime we get onto the Lery's map, if any of us brought in Med-Kits we would bring them to Moo Moo as get well gifts, and if we found any Med-Kits on the map, we brought them to Moo Moo as get well gifts.
Otherwise I have been having lots of fun playing NOED Blood Warden, Ebony Mori - Clown. Suddenly the constant toxicity and hate you get from players becomes comedic when you are intentionally ruining the game for them.
That's a note to all killers. The game becomes more fun when you run broken builds, and don't care about what those broken builds will do to your score. The hate becomes funny as all survivors start to look like this guy as you read the end game chat:

"despite not having any programming knowledge"... So what you're saying is you are talking out of your [BAD WORD], and have admitted to having no idea what you're talking about?? Cool, thanks for clearing that up.
I work in programming and balancing video games, does that count?
-
I know BHVR won't hire me for balancing, because of my blunt comedic taste on delivering information.
-
It doesn't only follow what rank you have, I imagine it follows other factors. Like current "winning" streak, and what character. Because I can play 10 matches as my P3 Feng, win every time. Then each match I am facing a rank 2 Killer. Then the moment I switch to my P3 Steve, 2 matches later i'm against a rank 8-12 killer again. If I play a new survivor, after a few matches suddenly i'm against green-yellow rank killers.
I feel like what character you have selected when you enter que, partially determines the players you are gonna face, or be on a team with - based on recent matches.
-
I just spent the day proving that Hex: Perks are late game, and that Clown is balanced IF built right.
Clown w/ Exposed Add on, More Bottles Add on
Remember Me, Blood Warden, NOED, and Insidious
With an Ebony Mori.
Trust me this build is a sure-fire way to prove that not only is Clown balanced, but Hex: Perks are entirely for the late game.
-
To be entirely fair. I bet we would miss a lot more if it wasn't around - compared to how often it makes us miss attacks.
-
They probably are dcing because it's how survivors were telling Dev's what was wrong in the first place. They look at the statistic and go "Why did this person DC? Oh this is why, best balance that and make it more fun for the Survivor".
Killers were seeing that, and now they are replicating it. Game starts, they lose 2 gens before getting across the map. They DC and tell the survivors "Enjoy the que time", and then immediatly jump back into another game where they might do better - or DC again, because the que time for killer right now is instant.
-
Is it really free weekend? Oh boi. Nvm putting this away - INSIDIOUS EBONY MORI NOED BLOOD WARDEN CLOWN LETS GO

What I think is amazing is that on the first game you had 20k bloodpoints in addons and offerings and didnt make back your investment.
2nd one you made just under 1.5k more than you spent.
Granted you could have played without the eboni but still, all those bloodpoints spent for literally no gain. (You actually average out to almost 0)
Obviously killers getting too many bloodpoints is op and unfair.
I'm gonna answer this one honestly - I don't normally use strong add-on's, neither do I normally use different add-ons then the ones I focus for in the bloodweb. Which when leveling blood webs for killers I play, I have to switch between 2-3 different add on combinations because the bloodweb simply is too expensive/rng doesn't give the add ons I want.
Because of this I get a large stalk up on the add-on's I don't normally use. In this case is Ebony Mori's, Fingers, and various tonic buffs.
Likewise with survivor. I don't use Items at all with Survivor (because you really don't need them), and I get an abundance of the same items/add ons.
This is actually a common theme for many players in higher ranks, to start gathering large collections for both Survivors and Killers.
-
Completed my Archive though, so now I am putting my Insidious Mori Camping Clown with Noed and Blood Warden, back onto the shelf for another day.
This thread proves Clown = OP please nerf.
-
Oh I just got a bunch of people who were really mad. Called me some racial slur's - idk why. Here's what happened:
Kate get's unhooked. Kate goes in locker. I insidious camp in front of locker for Decisive Strike. (As any good killer would do). Then when the doors open. I open the locker. Kate DC'd, but luckily enough I had NOED to hit the Claud that was tea bagging next to me the whole time. Down her. Activate Blood Warden. Hook the Quinton. Then Claud get's saved. Nancy and Claud escape, and Quinton sui on hook.
Only killed 2 that time. Still de-pip'd though. However since Survivors are starting to escape. That must mean I'm getting matched against better players so the game knows I am definitely getting better at Killer. I'll post an animated gif of the end game chat if I find a way to turn the clip I took into a gif.

Spine chill and self-care really aren’t that bad, of course playing injured is more efficient but at least this way I’m not wasting multiple peoples time.
Well it clearly didn't help them here. So I have to give this one to you.
They should BUFF Spine Chill, and Self Care.
Give Spine Chill the ability to see the Killer's aura, through the whole match. At 10,000m.
Give Self Care - instant heal. The same one they took from med-kits.

3 ebony mori kills while insidious-camping resulting in emblem penalty and 1 DC = you obviously "won" BUT those were cheesy kills which is why the ranking system won't let you pip that way for your own safety as good survivors will destroy "cheesy strategies" any day of the week.
As for some survivors/their perks that you listed as sweaty:
- the person with Object of Obsession was obviously meme-ing. His first perk was No Mither. Might as well call it the "kill me - I'm over here - and injured" meme build.
- self care helps the killer more than it helps survivors. Many killer wins are the result of people self caring in a corner instead of working on gens while injured.
- and spine chill is just a beginner perk that's only useful against stealth killers and maybe Spirit to a small degree.
Really? Would the "good survivors" really best my "cheesy strategy"? Because i'm seeing 3 red ranks, and a rank 6 in those screenshots.

I took your advice, you were absolutely right.
Once I stopped one hitting them, and instead 2 hitting them in less than 10 seconds (they we're really bad at looping. Like it's like as if they couldn't even see where they were going). I got at least silver in that emblem you were talking about.
Also finally a game with a red rank that I can commend.
Now that I am no longer de-piping, I should be in red rank in no time.

Oh wait! I can play Clown for the "Bronze Age" Archive!

I am not trolling I legit don't like BBQ and Chili.
I don't think the other perks on killer are that bad and are balanced.
Have you ever tried sitting on the opposite side of the generator from the Killer?
OR
Perhaps opening a locker?
OR
Perhaps going one way for 8 seconds, then another way?
OR
Entered the killer's terror radius, then leave?
OR
Bring Sole Survivor?
It's really easy to counter, keep practicing. I know you can do it.
-
I tried it a few times, it's a bad combo. Will reveal maybe 2-3 generators at the start. Most often only 2 before the totem get's destroyed.
However I have been replacing Ruin with Surveillance on all my builds, and it's been working nicely.

This is an obvious troll thread.

Actually 2 were on hook, 1 was a Mori, 1 was a DC. I'm an honest killer.
Okay, i'm lying. I would of mori'd them if they got off hook like the Meg with ooo did. But they decided to sui on hook instead.

I just moried four survivors with Legion and got a black pip, I think maybe the dc is what made you depip. How many gens did they finish? Because these guys only got two before I killed them all.
I didn't really keep count, one or two. It is because of the DC I depip'd, it made my sac points too low, that I didn't get the safety pip. The player knew that. It's a big problem in the game right now that Survivors are dcing to force killers to de-pip @Peanits

I don't know this is what it says on Steam. I think I did a good job at Catching, Torturing, and Killing the survivors. I even ensured that I threw the rest of my bottles on their dying corpse as I watched the entity take the ones that sui'd on hook.

I don't think dbd will have ever anything have to fear until another game comes out that a) has multiple killers in it (which also grow in time in their numbers) and b) takes the "horror" part a bit more seriously.
And I am not a dbd fanboy. It is just... How long can you play 1 game if never something new comes into it?
I have seen great games and mods dieing, just because of this.
That said, I don't think it would be bad if dbd would have a little competition. Maybe they starting then to wake up and doing the right things.
Capcom, Resident Evil is coming out with their own asymmetrical game. It's going to be a very tough competitor for a team as small as BHVR to face. I'm also not just talking about one triple 'A' game developer, but i'm sure we will see even more not long after.
I even hear that Friday the 13th have been making recent updates to contest Dead by Daylight, but that's just speculation and stuff I hear on the forums.
So it's clear BHVR does have a competition to worry about losing players to.
-
Even if they don't actually leave, these kinds of threads are clear signs that people are walking on the line of wanting to leave. It's an addicting game, and we can't really hold the players accountable for that. These threads are just as important for discussion as others.
-
It feels like almost every game. Anytime the match seems to shift who's gonna win someone dc's.
They are working on a DC penalty, but the first testing period of the Disconnect penalty came with a lot of really bad bugs, so I imagine they still have a lot of work to do on it.
Like I've heard people were getting banned because someone in their match dc'd during the trial period. The idea that everyone gets a dc timer when one person dc's during the loading screen is a pretty hefty bug on it's own.
-
NOED has never worked for me, I don't know what everyone's problem is with it. Like most matches I have tried to use NOED, and even the NOED/BW combo. That it would just get cleansed as soon as the last gen is up, or not at all. If it does ever last after that, then survivors just escape before I could get a down or a hook. Then if I even do get a hook, the timer on blood warden is gone by the time I finish chasing 1 or 2 survivors, just ending up in hook exchanges till then.
The reason being you don't have 1-2 perks all game to even get the hooks you need in the game to get sacrifices in the end game. You could alway's bring a Mori, but like. At what point are you wasting too much resources to try and make something extremely weak work? Against optimal survivors that have half ass skill at the game just blows a little extra air from their nostrils when they realize it's NOED or Bloodwarden.
I have the same experience as Survivor. If I don't see a Hex: Totem all game, I just cleanse any totem I see, and if the last gen is powered. I 99 the door if I have to save someone, or open it and leave. If there is NOED I just go to the places I know totems spawn, cleanse the damn thing and play as normal.
Complaining about something as weak as a Hex perk is pretty weak.

I've been getting Wretched Shop a lot lately. As Survivor and Killer. When I play survivor my matchmaking get's skewed because I play with someone who is still in Yellow ranks. Last night we got the map Wretched Shop, and - I kid you not. The god loop of the two windows on both sides of the garage, with the basement, and 2 doors spawned. A generator spawned barely just outside one window, and another spawned off to the corner behind it. Both well within distance of entering the god loop. As for the other gen's, there was one in the shop, obviously, and the others were all close enough to take a hit and your in the garage.
Playing with someone else, the Killer was fairly new to the game, and I proceeded to have full immunity that whole game just abusing the god loop in the center of the map. It was pretty disgusting. Yes the killer was low rank, but there was also 0 counter play to that. Even if the other gens were not one hit from the Garage, that's still 3 gens with full immunity from chases without some kind of perk or killer that deny's looping.
