I don't know about Ayrun anymore, but Ussylis only plays at rank 1 and he's MY main source of tech knowledge. Him and Otz are the ones I watch since I don't have the time to watch streamers.
If they are pulling these tricks off in high ranks i'm surprised. It's laughable when I see survivors do it. I get so confused because I literally can turn all the way around with the flick of my wrist.
I just hit the survivor under the hook when they do hook tech.

Freddy Krueger, The Nightmare. He is literally a Dream Demon. Never ending, eternal, and never merciful.
-
I'm not too scared, i'm sure someone will find way to track Elo in no time. That's how it is when games start their MMR systems.
Not to mention that I will less likely think the game is punishing me when I get 2 kills, because I won't be able to see it anyways. Honestly that was the worst part of the current system. Even if you play well, and the games you do pull out on top of SWF's or good survivors. Then the game black pips you like as if you didn't do anything rewarding.
-
Clear Reagent, and the other Reagents are just as bad. I don't even understand why this is a thing. Who does it help? Both seem equally good and bad if you add or take away fog.

Nobody should be complaining about the yellow mori lol. Mainly ebony that needs to go or be significantly nerfed in some way. I don't think keys are the Mori's counter part anyways. Insta heals were.
Huh I never heard them compared to insta heals when insta heals was a thing, but that's dumb. Insta-heals never needed a requirement. Unlike Key's which is - well for the hatch to spawn at 4 generators left.
I wouldn't change anything about them. I don't use them personally, but so long as Key's exist mori's should too. Also you have to hook the person first, good players would only ever get hooked once in a game anyways.
-
You know what. Adam Francis, this dude went to school, and was always reading books. I'm sure he knows a lot about surviving.
-
Not hearing generators through 1 wall is still a thing, and that is the most annoying imo
-
Yes new Mori's. I saw a post on reddit of the Hag drawing a trap on the ground, then lunge attacking the survivor - "YEET"ing them into the air, and then coming up from the trap into the survivor again. I want to see that in game.
Camping is a legitimate strategy in the game, mentioned by the Dev's.
Give all Killer's the ability to taunt survivors, even better, give them laughs or shouts. Myer's get's a moonwalk animation.

I agree that is why I'm thinking (x) hooks (x) destroyed
example
lets say 10 spawn not including basement.
now lets say only 2 can be sabotage permanently so now the killer has 8 left to work with.
They could also award killers more BP depending on the amount of remaining hooks when they hook a survivor.
Idk Just a thought.
That may sound fun for survivor, and it would definitely make me run sabotaging builds more often, but that sounds like a nightmare for Killers. The whole reason the amount of hooks increased was because survivors were sabotaging all the hooks in large areas around the map making hooking survivors impossible.
However they lessened the amount of hooks on Lery's and the result isn't too terrible so far, I am not against reducing hooks. I would say reduce the amount of pallets too.
-
Hook Tech, and Window Tech. Youtubers should post awareness messages that these tricks were used against low ranked Killers.
Even if you hide under a person on the hook, you're still going to get hit, and the killer is still gonna take the hook exchange.
If you try to walk through the killer through a window, they are just going to 180/360 and hit you because they have a mouse sensitivity over 50.
-
Not even for a second. Unless they are planning to make it something as basic as if you get 2 hooks you rank up, or if you escape you rank up. Then there are too many game variables that effect the course of the game to make a reliable mmr system. That's not including the excessive amount of RNG in this game. Like what if the last survivor takes the hatch - an auto win mechanic that takes no skill to use. What is a Killer facecamps bubba each and every match, confirming 2 or more kills?
-
I've ran into smart players, and swf who would all loop back to the same corner of the map, and before I knew it there were no Hooks left nearby for me to get the last 2 survivors. It's a neat trick.
I also sometimes spawn on Red Forest, or Ormond, and there is always just 1 hook in the distance for me to hook someone when they run to a corner.
So there is strategy that can be had for it, but it's very difficult right now. They don't want to reduce the hooks and make hooking impossible, when that directly effects the progression of the game.
-
I suck. When I put struggle to my mouse wheel. I just died x'D - i'm just going to keep tapping the 'f' key.
-
They already require a hook to use in the first place, and the Yellow Mori only works on the last survivor remaining in the trial. They don't need a nerf, unless they plan to remove the hatch, or nerf Key's.
-
It could be bugged, then I would make a bug report;
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bug-reports
Otherwise to complete it you have to actually Flashlight Stun the killer twice. If the Killer avoids being blinded then it doesn't count as a "blind".

You're making a big deal over nothing, people already told you to just close hatch...I'm not personally against your idea, just brainstorming some counterpoints others might have.
I didn't even make the big deal out of it. The whole thread started with a single line. I got my point across, someone can say one line that isn't in Survivor's favor and then everything breaks loose.

Fun fact: hook tech does not exist. The thing at fault for the "hook tech" is the feature explained above. It just locks on the hooked body, because its closer.
(I have no proof, but try it out yourself, your killer tries to hit the hooked survivior even if there is no one else nearby)
Ooo this one grinds my gears. Like can they at least add a priority to the auto-attack for the survivors saving a hooked target.
-
They should make a new map with a new objective. Like you have to find Key's around a mansion to unlock the doors to the outside. I think that would be pretty cool, and add some freshness to the game.
-
@Peanits I think this thread is actually what's bad in this game. The gross amount of entitlement survivors now have because the game has been made far too easy for them.
I would like to further my idea, of removing the hatch, and just starting EGC at the last survivor to avoid a survivor taking the game hostage by hiding.

In other words, survivors that are amazing should still be sacrificed immediately, because all killers are entitled to 4Ks no matter how bad they are.
Hypocrisy at its finest.
What is amazing about not being able to loop, run, hide, or complete any objectives all match?
Oh wait. I get it. As survivor getting 1 skill check, and not being the last one on hook is exactly all you need to be "the best" at this game for survivor.

apparently its easier just to nerf him instead of easily learning to beat him
I'm not kidding getting rank 1 survivor is easy, and I was surprised at every nerf in the recent months. Nurse, Spirit, Freddy, were all easily countered. Now it's just even more child's play.
Now people are talking about Billy, before any Killer like Hag, Myer's, Ghostface, or Doctor. Puh-leez.

I tend to bait forced m1s, or simply not take the hit and force down the pallet in the loop by getting bloodlust or revving and curving and at less safe pallets I'll take m1s if it is a faster option.
Here's the trick for Billy. Which I'm sure some have done to you. You force him to have to use m1 to hit you around a loop, keeping the pallet up as long as possible. Then when you finally drop the pallet. You can stay there and keep looping till he actually m1's you. Then with the speed burst and probably dead hard, you can reach the next loop no problem by the time billy recovers from the hit and tries to charge his chainsaw.
I mean that's what I do. If can get through at least 2 loop locations against any Killer than I did more than what's expected of me as a survivor, that's much longer than a 20 second chase.
Again it's all about the skill of both the survivor and the killer. Just survivors have many tools that make them immune against any killer.
EDIT: That scenario was also me thinking with Rotten Fields in mind. Obviously smaller maps, and maps with more corners/obstacles it becomes immensely easier to loop Billy and turn him into an m1 killer.
-
I don't play any shooters. I've tried Overwatch because it was a class based shooter (and I've enjoyed TF2), but then it started to feel too much like COD as well so I've stopped playing.
I grew up a heavy Resident Evil fan, so I gravitated toward Dead by Daylight as a result from that.

Depends on his skill and the map.
You can force him to m1 in almost all loops. It's not only the killer's job to know about maps, and loops. It's also the survivors. Survivors know not to be out in the open too long against a billy, and adjust to counter him.
That's skill from both sides, and from most the billy's I've faced he's very easy to counter when you force him to loop. Even on a map like Rotten Fields.

Lmao
One who is stuck at 115% movement speed vs one who can zoom across the map as frequently as he wants at 230% speed
One who has to waste time stalking survivors and delaying the chase to be granted instadowns for a very short duration vs someone who has unlimited instadowns from the very start of the trial
How can they both be the most balanced when they aren’t even in the same league

I mean, if I were you I'd be upset with Billy. Fortunately, a decent survivor can force a Billy to M1 at a loop. If you get caught out in the open and get chainsawed, you're just not a good survivor.
Clicky sounds like the kind of survivor that holds down W the whole chase, and then gets mad that their team didn't take the hit for them.

Agree i answered that the only horror this game have is jumpscare from stealth killers( not wraith), the psychological fear should be more worked on the oni and the demogorgon footstep really mess up your mind at the beggining but know that fear passed and they need this kind of fear but like full match you know.
Right now we have a bunch of possibilities to bully killers, and they are not treathening enough to give a real fear like a horror game should do.
This is probably it's biggest problem. I liked the new lery's map because the darker assets makes it harder to see killer's and with Lery's being indoors it's hard to see the killer around every corner.
As far as balance go, they gave survivors too many immunity's that playing as survivor is too relaxing. So many times I am saying to friends in chat "Don't worry I have DS", or "Don't worry I got BT anyways", and when i'm running from a Killer I am thinking to myself "Haha, he can't touch me. I still have Dead Hard up". Then other times I just wait for him to hit me, because even that isn't scary when I know that I'm going to take off like Usain Bolt when it does.

Killers are not entitled to 4Ks each game.
They are if they did the work to deserve them. Survivors are not entitled to a win just for surviving to the last, they should actually have to complete an objective to get out.

This thread is pinned now.. I'm scared of why, and what that could mean for killers in later patches...

That's precisely why I don't want voice comms built in. There would be a lot of pressure to balance around comms then. If you don't want complete strangers screaming at you for minutes the stuff during the game that they'd otherwise write in endgame chat which you can simply close, or don't want to listen to terribly embarrassing role-playing attempts, you'd be at an even bigger disadvantage as a solo player than you are now.
Not to mention that here in Europe, there are many different languages spoken, and if I'd be paired with a 3SWF from - for example - Russia then the chance that they'd talk English just for me is probably as close to zero as it could be.
But at that point it's in the players lap, and not the developers. If you choose not to use the tools given to you, that's your problem not theirs. However right now, solo players have a terrible time because Killers have to play assuming they may be against a SWF each match, and utterly decimate solo teams. Then Solo's get mad because they don't get their free wins.
Then the only people enjoying the game is SWF's, and they don't care because they will just switch games with their friends anyways if things don't go their way.

Well hopefully hatch kills/escapes won't carry too much weight with new mmr lol.
I wonder what my opinion is gonna be like with the new MMR. I would probably enjoy getting 2 kills more, because I assume i'm ranking up from it.
Honestly that is how the ranking system should be for killer, as simple as "Did he get 2 kills? Yes? then a pip" "Did he get 3 kills? Yes? Then double pip". Because confirmed by the dev's using tactics like camping, tunneling, and Mori's is completely viable.
Survivor is a bit harder, because if you just let everyone pip with a free win mechanic that can get broken very quickly. Then again already it's too easy to rank as survivor.

Idk, I play Legion specifically because I know it annoys people.
Legion hits you
You mend
Try to start doing a gen
Here comes legion again to hit you

You still technically win whether or not the last survivor gets out, so hatch shouldn't be too much of a bother. The entity feeds off hope and that just doesn't exist when the gates spawn close together.
I shouldn't lose a double pip for it. Like the number one, and pretty much only problem is that it punishes the killer. Sure you "won the game", but it doesn't feel like you won, when you are a tick short of a double pip because the last survivor got a free mechanic.
It's like you're playing poker, and you can bet half your chips to force the last guy at the table to go all in, and then when you do the dealer looks through the deck, hands him a clean full house - hits you over the head with a baseball bat, and then gives the rest of your chips to that other player.
-
Exactly! The game would be 100x easier to balance when Solo players have the same tools as SWF's.
-

You forget that survivors aren't required to work together, and usually only do so for some personal benefit.
Oh no, I don't forget. It's pretty dumb, but at the same time you don't give any player Free Win mechanics.
The original purpose - if you remember - of the hatch. Is that is was implemented into the game to stop Survivors from taking the game hostage when thing's don't go their way.
Which it's common sense to know that if one player is doing something wrong, you don't remedy that problem by giving them a free win, but that's what happened.
Honestly when it comes down to the last survivor, EGC should just start. Doesn't activate the doors, or anything. It just starts. Then if the survivor can finish the last gen(s), then have the hatch open, or make them have to power the gates. Otherwise the entity takes them after the timer to avoid survivors from hiding.

Sadly the devs response to SWF comms is : "we can't control who uses what program (discord) outside of the game"... so it's not our problem.
They only ever TALK about dealing with SWF to placate us, they never ever follow through with anything about SWF.
Wait is that really their response? Does that mean I am allowed to make and maintain a bot for farming BP, or Iri?
Can I get a Dev to confirm this?

The devs say that self care is the most used by a large margin, and isn't even close to ruin still.(ruin was 44% overall)
I can understand that, I don't even use DS because it isn't reliable in most cases. Just this one situation, not only did the perk not be used for it's intended purpose (let's be real it never is after the first month of playing), but it gave the last survivor a free win because of it.
I am just more baffled that a survivor has the ability to win when a not a single generator is done. Like honestly I feel like i'm going to find a way to abuse this. You know just like completely sabotage my whole team, and then take the hatch.
-
I see what you doing there
-
Report them for: The use of third party software to gain a personal advantage.
Maybe after enough reports, the dev's will finally start to get an idea of just how much of a problem SWF is causing the game entirely. You wanna talk about "what's skewing statistics". This is one way to screw statistics.

It's honestly why I get so annoyed when killers complain the devs are survivor sided. If you look at where the game started to where it is now. It's clear they have made a ton of progress balancing the game. Which is not to say it has happened as fast as we'd have liked. Or that there isn't still progress that needs to be made. But they have come along way.
During a time that Mori's didn't require a hook, and half the crutch perks were not even there. You're statement isn't really that strong.

I remember when I would see a survivor kobe off a hook, so then I just go "######### son, okay there's the door, you go champ". Which taking it away so I couldn't do that anymore didn't bother me. The No struggle points though, damn why. I don't care if I have to stand there and taunt you till die as killer. Take all the time you need to struggle on that hook.
