  • How do I get teammates like yours??

In the past 50 matches, I've escaped 6 times (4 of those were through hatch), and 12 matches had at least 1 DC.

For me, it depends on the killer. Were they tunnely/campy at five gens or did they spread out hooks? If they were tunnely/campy, I’ll let you die on hook if I don’t think you’d get away if unhooked. If they weren’t tunnely/campy, I’d rescue you, even knowing they have a good chance to mori you. They played nice, we basically lost at that point, let them have their mori.

Them let me die and YOU take the mori

at 1 gen left - it does literally nothing. 1s animation for 1s DS? What is the purpose? Give more chances/time to flash/sabo save? I don't think that's good idea. At 2 gens it's the exact same thing, it just doesn't look that way (1s running time is not even enough to vault window when you are literally dropped on top of it - you will get M1'd immediately).

    Just make it 5s again

The devs need to code it better then.

The point is that you should get a 6 second head start if tunneled at 5 gens, but only a 1 second head start at the end of the match. That time needs to start when you're able to move, not when you're dropped.

  • Yes. Hooking someone and then hooking someone else means you're not tunneling.

Entitled survivors... "The killer didn't hook each survivor once and stick their nose in the corner of the map for 40 seconds after each hook... They're TunNEliNg!!!"

  • I've been asking for this for a while.

    Good luck.

  • There's still an archive challenge that tasks you with healing yourself with Circle of Healing.

Are we supposed to slap on CoH, Self Care, Botany Knowledge, and Desparate Measures and tough it out?

  • @pseudechis said:

Maybe you or your team are just not very good at the game?

Dying 30 times in a row no amount of survivor buffs/killer nerfs will save you with a streak like that.

After that many deaths your MMR should have down adjusted enough to get some pretty easy killers, its coupled with inexperienced team mates which can make it tricky to get a coherent team going which is the great failing of MMR as it is.

But still 30 deaths in a row phew wow you gotta try and escape more.

I have a feeling that our matchmaking rating has a hidden floor, based on playtime / player devotion level, preventing "experienced" players from tanking their rating for easier matches / to troll.

  • Hope survivors get to pick themselves up / game auto-finishes when all 4 incapped.

Just had a match where the killer did everything in their power to milk the match along for nearly an hour even though they "won" 10 minutes in.

  • It's like standing outside the bowling alley with pickets, protesting, because the owners removed the gutter guards from their bowling lanes and now you have to learn to bowl instead of relying on cructhes...

  • Why don't they just whitelist the Autohaven maps then? Let the newly reowrked maps repeat, not all of them...

  • I hope "most efficient tactic available" becomes "many efficient tactics avilable" 🙏

  • Another alternative is Overzealous, Circle of Healing, and Inner Healing.

Bless CoH, get the gen speed boost and heal altruistically.

If your team starts dying off or cannot/does not heal altruistically, then start cleansing totems for the Overzealous and Inner Healing.

  • Or slap on Resurgence and We'll Make it and pray that your teammates do the same (and the killer doesn't have Sloppy)

  • I've been in this situation many times before.

I've asked for a perk that has a trade-off. Survivors cannot read my aura at all, but I get some kind of buff (or perk, duh) in exchange. Another solution is not showing other survivors auras to each other when in the dying state if there are only 2 remaining survivors. The standing survivor can see the dying survivor and can choose to pick them up or wait. But, perks like Empathy, Bond, and Aftercare still exist.

For now, just give the killer the 4k. If you try to hide and "waste the killer's and the dying survivor's time" then they will happily team up against you, even if waiting is the safest and smartest play for you to make. If you give up right away then the slugged survivor won't be given the chance to grief you and be rewarded for it. (Seeing a troll get rewarded is far worse than simply dying, imo.)

  • It depends.

If survivors remain dedicated to using Dead Hard, then they will be desparately going for unhooks, which means you're less likely to get the unhook yourself and get any We'll Make it Value. You'll be less inclined to use it, meaning only those with Dead Hard will consider running it for synergy.

If survivors just drop Dead Hard for another exhaustion perk, then yes, We'll Make It will have room to shine.

  • In the mean time, the devs can stop Hex: Blood Favor from revealing itself on the first basic attack if it's not near a pallet. Reveal it if they're hit within 8 meters of a pallet? 12 meters?

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/368619/i-have-never-seen-such-a-bad-perk-in-my-entire-playthrough-of-dead-by-daylight

You want the worst perk in the entire game?

    CORRECTIVE ACTION

Not only it has an extremely minor, barely noticeable effect. Not only it is the definition of a very situational perk.

On top of that is TOKEN BASED.

    my god

It gets worse. (Not sure if they fixed this yet.)

If you're near a gen but not working on it at the time another survivor fails a skill check, the perk will still consume a token, but the explosion happens anyway.

  • Yes, longer.

Currently, I have 30 seconds to get the down or the haste is gone. Then I have to either drop the chase to go reset the drone, or leave the gen and commit to the chase at a slow speed and no power.

That, or buff the movespeed % from claw traps on survivors. 30 seconds is not enough to do anything (the very reason Ghostface mark duration was buffed to 60 seconds).

  • Skull Merchant sucks.

I still got ran for 4 gens while chasing 1 survivor. I would drop a drone at gens being worked on as I chased so I had 3% haste pretty often throughout the chase, even getting 5% haste for 30s.

    IT DID ABOSLUTELY NOTHING.

I feel like I've been robbed of my power and got nothing for it.

NO chase power. Back to 3-gen...

  • Another alternative is buffing Hubris, making it last for twice as long if the pallet stun makes you drop a survivor.

That, or make Hubris break the pallet (you still drop the survivor).

  • Judging by the latest chapters, I'm sure the devs are grasping at straws for new perk ideas.

This one's straight forward, not OP, and a big quality of life.

  • Then they would have to rename the perk Foreground player

  • 15 second linger effect?

  • "It is a token perk because it's only condition is doing something that you would already do in the first place." @Batusalen

    ----

    Glad you brought this up.

Save the Best for Last is a token system that gets tokens from something the killer already does in the first place.

That means that the devs should either remove the starting penalty from Autodidact, or they should make the successful hit recovery slower than the baseline until the killer has a couple tokens of STBFL.

  • If Thompson House, with 1 starircase leading up, has a hook up top then Ormond, with 3 staircases, should as well

  • The buffs I want don't affect her condemn hit & run playstyle, but I have to wait because 1 person knows how to bypass half the game's mechanics to nope people out of the game.

  • 1 second to run into the zone, 1 to 2 seconds to hack it, 30 seconds of battery...

    3% haste for 33 seconds

Throw down a drone at a loop and the survivor leaves 1 second after the zone activates...

5% haste for 1 second, and then back to 3%

    Fun

Is it worth dropping chase to reset your drones for another 30 seconds of boost?

    Doubt

Basekit Unbreakable and the Finisher Mori were never meant to be implemented yet. The PTB was a test to see if people liked it and from what I could see the majority of feedback was negative. Someone abusing it wasn't the reason it wasn't added, it wasn't added because it never was supposed to be implemented yet.

It's probably still coming, just not for awhile because it's a massive shift in how the game plays that they can't just add it in suddenly. And they probably won't do anything to address slugging for the 4k until then because there is no point in adding a fix that is just going to become obsolete when FInisher Moris are added.

Thank you for the explanation. That's a very fair point.

And OPs suggestion of a Blood Warden only prolongs the game even further. Now what?

I did not agree to the OP's idea in this thread.

If someone wants to use the argument "stop being stubborn and just push them out the gate," I'm going to point out the stubbornness of survivors in the same scenario.

  • Didn't the devs say they would be making some cosmetics seasonal, to reduce store clutter and to make the outfits more special when they do come around?

  • "Being prevented from exiting a trial just because some stranger enjoys repeatedly clicking a button doesn't seem fair to me personally." @Nazzzak

I'm glad we agree. It doesn't seem fair that the killer can't simply move on to the next match; they're stuck in the trial for 2 minutes unless they go push some stranger out the exit because that stranger enjoys repeatedly clicking a button.

  • @Nazzzak said:

It's literally just someone sitting behind a screen repeatedly clicking a button. It's not that deep.

The exit threshold is literally pixels away. It's not that far.

  • Or what if the HUD showed an icon/portrait of the killer next to the survivor being chased.

SWF get to call that out. Solo can't.

  • They will just butt dance outside the exit gate area and run through it to safety if/when you show up. Nothing changes.

Just like the Endgame Countdown. It was supposed to stop survivors from taking the game hostage, but nothing says they have to finish the last gen.

  • (Sarcasm) They were both shadow-buffed and shadow-nerfed.

The gens take less charges to repair if you're playing killer, and they take more charges to repair if you're playing survivor solo.

    Yes. I did.

Again, it is faster to not tolerate the circle jerk than it is to go to each exit and walk in the center of it.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3373958#Comment_3373958

I'm happy for you over literal hours of your life not being wasted by survivor mains.

You obviously did not read my comment.

Someone was criticizing your DC and your stubbornness and said "Disconnecting during the EGC is so goofy. 😂 JUST. PUSH. THEM. OUT."

I was saying that the survivors are also being stubborn, "Butt dancing in the exit is so goofy. 😂JUST. WALK. OUT."

I want a concede option too, but I'm not sticking around for this friendly fire nonsense.

Hatch is an escape. That's a personal win. So if that gate blocking example I gave didn't give MMR you'd be okay with that being added? That's basically what you're implying.

Go ahead, list the freebies killers get. I'll wait.

Keep waiting. The devs don't seem to mind.

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3373901#Comment_3373901

    Lol what?

Okay so first of all the hatch is in their favor because if you got to that point you already lost the game in the fist place. It's supposed to be in their favor because you technically already lost, the games just being nice and still giving you a freebie second chance. You shouldn't be asking why the hatch is in their favor, you should be asking why you get a hatch mechanic period. You lost. This would be like losing a soccer game and then complaining that you got a participation trophy when in reality you should be lucky you got anything period when you lost and were supposed to get nothing.

Second on the point of the gate, no, that's not correct. It's more of a 50/50 on whether you get the close gate spawns or the far gate spawns. I'd even go as far as to argue it's realistically more of a 60/40 for survivor as it usually even favors them more often if played correctly. Also, same as the hatch point, it should be in the killers favor, you lost.

Survivor should be grateful they get either of these mechanics as they are multiple freebie second chances after losing for no reason.

Should we even get into the 4% yolo off hook chance for a third freebie chance for no reason?

The equivalent of this for killer would be like if he got destroyed and the survivors were going to 4 man escape but right as the fourth guys about to run out he gets an RNG chance of the gate blocking him from escaping and he has to try for the other gate. Does that sound stupid? It does to me. That's basically what survivors are getting. A free second chance for the other side after they lost.

Hatch is not a win. Get out of here with "the game gives survivors a freebie."

Killers get 10,000 freebies a day everytime 4 random solos queue up.

  • When I asked this, Peanits said it's because some killers would like the choice to snuff the boon without breaking the totem so that survivors waste time re-blessing it.

That makes sense... But the execution doesn't. Why does it need to use a perk slot??

If survivors can walk up to a totem and have TWO prompts (1 to Cleanse & 1 to Bless), then why can't the killer just have two prompts when they walk up to a boon (1 to Break & 1 to Snuff)??

It could have, and should have, been made basekit. What perk(s) do survivors need to equip to cleanse hex totems, or to disable drones?

  • @Technature said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3373934#Comment_3373934

It's faster to DC than it is to walk to each gate and check the butt dancers.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3373936#Comment_3373936

I don't care about the fact that I lost. It's when the other side wants to jerk over it and rub your face in their work that it becomes ridiculous and stupid. And the fact that it is every ######### day is unbearable.

Be a humble winner. Just ######### leave.

Also now have a 24 hour ban because I don't want to tolerate people wanking over their wins.

Why are you people like this and defending this ######### behavior.

Not sure why you're quoting me. Did you even read my comment (in relation to the comment I quoted)?

Disconnecting during the EGC is so goofy. 😂 JUST. PUSH. THEM. OUT.

It is seriously as easy as that. If you’re so easily triggered by them indulging in their victory over you, then don’t play PVP games.

Butt dancing in the exit is so goofy. 😂JUST. WALK. OUT.

It is seriously as easy as that. If you're so stubborn about gloating only when you're in a position where you cannot possibly lose, then take a screen shot and spend those 2 minutes posting it on Twitter instead.

  • I'm thankful that we can hold the sprint button to deny being picked up and held hostage in a game where the killer and survivor(s) team up to make my life miserable. The killer wants to pick me up to stop me from bleedng out? I'll just repair a gen in their face. They can't stop me from doing one or the other.

Also thankful for the 6 pages of common charms! I don't use any of them, but I'm sure they look nice in-game...

Oh, and I'm loving the HUD changes showing who's being chased <3

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3373314#Comment_3373314

It’s literally the only reason they slug at the end. No hatch, no slug. It’s pretty logical.

The hatch race, and the exit gate gamble afterwards, are BOTH in the killer's favor anyway.

The killer doesn't have to stay out of sight, hide their scratch marks and pools of blood. Many killers have incredible mobility, and some can even teleport across the map and backtrack if they hear it while traveling.

Remove the hatch? Sure. But then disable all killer powers and boost the 110% movespeed killers to 115%.

If the randomness of the hatch is to be removed, then so should the difference in killer powers (some can EASILY guard exit gates with their powers). It can't be one-sided.

  • I was thinking Clown, imho

  • @Gandor said:

I don't think it's necessary. STBFL already has counterplay - it's obsession. And sure this favors SWF on comms more (because they can call out STBFL), but it this can be countered even as solo player. All that is needed is to send obsession to bodyblock hooks (even if killer will be able to hook regardless) or take hits in any other way.

The perk is very strong, but it needs a lot of work to have it working. I think it's fine the way it is (hook camping included)

I'm all for STBFL staying as it is.

Sucks that the counter to this perk is to have the 1 survivor with Reassurance also bring a perk to increase their chance to be the Obsession; 1 survivor to heal the Obsession up and send them back in to the hook; and another survivor slowly whittling gens in the background while Reassurance buys them time. All to counter 1 perk. 🤷‍♂️

    RIP, solo q

  • The next in line is the anniversary killer.

When was the last anniversary dud?

  • @Blueberry said:

So are you suggesting we fix the slug for the 4k by removing hatch?

No, I'm pointing out that the devs don't mind people's time being wasted (slugging), but claim they don't want people's time being wasted (waiting for a decent match).

If anything, let the slugged survivor concede and move on, and let a survivor bot crawl on the ground.

  • @Green_Sliche said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/368251/killer-wastes-players-time-good-matchmaking-waste-players-time-bad

People complained that wait times were too big so the requirements were adjusted to favor speed over quality. Can't have a quick and fair match at the same time anymore.

I've seen so many people complain that slug times were too long, and I agree with them.

What happened to the basekit unbreakable?

Better question: which side abused it to prevent it from being implemented in the base game? (Usually what happens)

  • @Batusalen said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3373065#Comment_3373065

Funny, that is what I think everytime I use an Hex perk.

But no, it is obvious that you want an useful perk to be an overpowered perk. And the best part is that you want to do it so you can counter not one, but two killer perks.

I guess that killer perks don't need to be PERKS and give killers an advantage if survivors can't completely nullify them, eh?

Autodidact is not a hex or boon perk. It is a killer perk.

  • @Batusalen said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3373000#Comment_3373000

It is a token perk because it's only condition is doing something that you would already do in the first place, and that something is as easy as just good skill checks. Imagine if it didn't depend on RNGesus blessing you. And by the way, 3 of them means a free +20% of current progress to the healing, it's not even added speed.

And you want to not only remove the penalty for being basically a free healing perk with a light dependency in RNG, but not add any kind of condition or difficulty to it to balance... yeah, what about no?

Funny enough, CoH is a direct counter to Coulrophobia as it add the 50% of healing speed that Coulrophobia removes, and if the killer is not running that build (Coulrophobia has 1.63% usage according to nightlight.gg) both CoH and Autodidact are a huge advantage. Also, Coulrophobia has the condition of the survivor having to be inside the terror radius for it to be effective, which is a more demanding one that just doing good skill check.

Sorry, but the only thing you want is to unbalance a pretty powerful high risk, high reward perk.

Sorry, but I want a perk to be a PERK, not a BURDEN.

1 … 12 13 14 15 16 … 61
