Most dishonest argument I've ever seen.

    Considering

    • The Trickster has to hit more than 1 knife to injure a Survivor.
    • The knife gauge can decay over time.
    • He still has to reload.
    • His Main Event can power up at bad times.
    • It still decays, even if he does not use it.

Maybe try to be more honest?

I wasn't trying to be honest. It was sarcasm.

So no more DC-ing for hatch when slugged then? I wonder if the bot will take over from the "downed" position or if they re-spawn elsewhere.

The bot should take over and be in the dying state.

But! What happens next after the bot recovers?

Does the bot relentlessly crawl toward the last remaining survivor, giving the killer free tracking?

If there are only 2 remaining survivors, the bot should be programmed to stay and wait, or crawl to the nearest pallet and wait, not give away the last survivor's location.

  • @Blinckx said:

I think it's fair and a great addition to the game that bot can replace survivors who's dc but how this is going to happen ?

THe bot replace the suvrivor in the same situation ? let's say the survivor dc while on hook, the bot will be on the hook ? and if someone dc during the mori animation, the bot will be killed with the mori or not ?

Yes, and it would be fair.

The other 3 survivors would still be in the same boat whether the killer moris a player or a bot.

The bot-fill is supposed to help in situations where a survivor disconnects on their first down or because they were chased first. The bot takes the hook or the chase while the others can continue rescuing and repairing as normal instead of the 3v1 if there were no bot.

  • @pigslittlepet said:

Think about this. In every single way he is a weaker version of huntress. Why would we nerf someone who is just a sub form of another killer?

Trickster has more ammo than Huntress and has to stop and reload less often, making him a strong hook camper.

So Trickster is not actually weaker in every single way. They are two different killers.

I don't know, I've had pretty reasonable success by just targeting and prioritising those generators myself.

Granted, I've not gone against a killer who went out of their way to defend a 3-gen from the start, but Deja Vu isn't for that kind of 3-gen scenario anyways.

I've also had pretty reasonable success just doing the gens myself.

...assuming reasonable success means getting caught running to the highlighted gens at the start of the match, or other survivors kiting the killer past the gen because it's near the middle of the map or strong loop.

The perk's fine... otherwise I wouldn't be here on the forums posting about it.

You said to just walk away from the area in which a hooked survivor is right beside an important gen. That is actively playing stupid. That is not an acceptable argument.

I did not say walk away.

I said GUARD IT from a spot that will fill the meter up the slowest.

  • @Mushmallow said:

"Just play stupid and walk away from a critical area to defend" is not the argument you think it is.

Who are you quoting? I didn't say that.

  • @Mushmallow said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3434939#Comment_3434939

Or the actual answer is it doesn’t matter if it fills up at a snail’s pace. As long as a survivor is there at all, you are actively punishing the killer for not just letting survivors get a free unhook. It filling up at all is unacceptable.

    Not actively punishing.

The survivor isn't escaping the hook every single second that you stand in the zone. It's not the "Hook Proximity" penalty that's used in the Emblem scoring.

You are punished when the meter fills up.

  • @Blinckx said:

What BHVR doesn't realize is that in many maps, practically all, there are situations like this where the hook is near a generator.

If I use that hook with a survivor, and maybe 1 or 2 generators are missing to be completed, it's not "face camp" if I stay in that area but it's tactic, stay close to a target and an important area. Why should I ever walk away? It's ridiculous

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/T09YN9W7J7ZF/immagine-2023-05-22-213518.jpg

Then guard that gen from outside the zone, or on the outermost part you can reach...

  • If you're so scared of the meter filling up even just a smidge then I don't know what to tell you. Stay out of the 16 meters? Go all the way around it?

    You're not gonna get perma-banned if the meter reaches 50%... 75%... 99%

It has to reach 100% for them to self unhook, and that means the other survivor would have to successfully loop you around the hook for 1 to 2 minutes for it to fill up at the slower rate (unless you were hardcore face-camping before the other survivor showed up). Even then, the hooked survivor will only get 1 chance to self unhook instead of twice, if at all.

And, honestly, if they can loop you for that long in such a small area, they all deserve to escape. 🤷‍♂️

  • @TeemoSurfer said:

16 meters is fine that's the very edge of usual proxy camping I just hope that zone does not get bigger. Issue I see is survivors s running through that zone to escape you.

If the survivor is in that zone, the killer is allowed in that zone. The meter fills up significantly slower if there are any survivors in the zone.

  • Basekit anti-genrush?

Gen-rushing is the equivalent of the killer tunneling, and the new mechanic coming for survivors is anti-camp, not anti-tunnel.

Killers already have anti-gen-camping (not basekit though): Nowhere to Hide

  • Quite the conondrum.

There is a Polls section in the forum, but if you create a new poll and post it in Polls, no one will see it.

If you want people to see and vote, you're stuck here in General Discussions making a manual poll and manually tallying the comments 🤷‍♂️

    ----

I'm going to predict 1. It will be perfect. Only hard campers will be punished with a self-unhook in about a minute.

BUT, survivors will still be unhappy with what comes after the camping and the self-unhooking: the tunneling and going right back on the hook anyway; especially with certain killers.

Even if survivors complain, tunneling is unrelated to the anti-camp mechanic; the changes will go live; killers will realize they had nothing to fear and changes nothing for them; and survivors will realize that it doesn't matter if killer wants them dead and is adamant about it (but at least they can squeeze in 1 or 2 more chases after self-unhooking)

  • This also applies to Mount Ormond Resort. If they have Boil Over, run upstairs into one of the back corner rooms, you're not hooking without dropping, which means Boil Over kicks in.

    OR

Make Boil Over an exhaustion perk and wiggling free causes exhaustion (only if you have Boil Over equipped, not basekit), so that it can't deny a hook back-to-back-to-back...

  • Killer had Franklin's... Everyone dead at 4 gens.

Great challenge. Survivor's don't have to throw for 20 matches in a row to get it done.

Easy enough that 30% of the survivors in my matches aren't also working on this same challenge.

For the next few weeks playing killer, I have no reason to unequip Lightborn.

  • and of top of it all I have to dodge lobbies if I see other survivors bringing flashlights. It means the killer is much more likely to bring Lightborn, Franklin's, or spend the extra 10 seconds checking nearby before picking up.

I've been wanting a robotic killer for a long time so that I can turn my mind off and hunt, chase, and hook survivors like a bot.

I was hoping for a terminator, but we're getting Chappie.

  • My big gripe about Grim Embrace is what happens when you hook the Obsession last?

You see their aura on the hook... Then what?

You can't patrol gens; they're blocked; the survivors aren't there.

It's just 40 seconds of "camp the Obsession..."

  • Play With Your Food is a hex perk? And how does it synergize with Hex: Pentimento?

    Do you mean Hex: Plaything?

  • The killers at my mmr dodge the lobby if I bring a flashlight, so I need to equip Residual Manifest to get a flashlight from a chest in game. Then I have to run Empathy to know where to be when the injured survivor goes down. Then I have to bring Iron Will in case I'm injured and don't want the killer to easily hear me nearby. Then Background Player for the archive.

I've failed multiple times to get the blind.

Then I get a macth with Nancy. We both work the gen and I take off when I see Ada get injured. I wait for Ada to go down, but just as she does, Nancy shows up, runs in, the killer sees her, Nancy kites the killer right past me, and I'm stuck tanking the hit and go down soon after.

After the match, I saw that Nancy didn't even have Background Player, nor did she have Empathy (which meant she followed me to the chase).

Oh, and after Nancy and Ada unhooked me, they bodyblocked me under the hook so I couldn't move until the killer came back.

  • What if each survivor could only contribute 50% of a gen's total progress to each gen without a gear/part?

A normal gear/part, found somewhere in the map, lets them work an additional 50%, allowing them to 100% solo a gen. A brand new gear/part, found in the basement, lets them work an additional 100%, allowing them to solo 2 gens before having to find a new gear. (This would give survivors reason to go to the basement and give perks like Territorial Imperative more value. And this would make the Brand New Part addon for the toolbox function like the Brand New Part/Gear in the trial, saving that survivor a trip to the basement.)

    • The survivor can either look for the gear first and then hop on a gen, or get the gen to 50% and then come back with the gear later.
    • Two survivors could team up on the same gen to combine both their 50% into 100%.
    • Multiple survivors could each solo their own gen to 50% and then swap/rotate to finish someone else's gen.
    • The survivor can ignore gears completely and just run around adding 50% to every gen and letting someone else finish the rest.

Either way, this would stop 3 gens from popping at once after the first chase ends (or before it ends, in some cases).

I mean sure it's a bit inconvenient but doesn't it take just 10-20 seconds to leave again?

    10 to 20 seconds??

    😆🤣😂😁😝🤭🤢🤮

I wish. I'm playing on Xbox One. Try 40-80 seconds. TWICE, since I get pulled back into the game and have to "load" twice.

  • No, everything plays out normally and it's fine. The killer sacrificed me and I'm done looking at the tally screen and am ready to move on...

But the game's not. Part-way through loading back into the survivor lobby, I'm taken back into the tally screen and told that I've been disconnected from the host.

    @SpiritsHusk

  • Still happening.

I died. I get taken to the tally screen. I press Y to continue. I'm on a load screen...

Then I'm back on the tally screen. The game's saying I've been disconnected from host. I dismiss the message and press Y to continue, again!

    It's annoying...

Imagine you left work, your boss calls you back to the office so you turn around and go back, and then when you get there he tells you your shift is over and you can go home. TF??

I have - lots of times. I know it sucks. I also know that there is a huge difference between the killer being within range to grab someone and being 16 meters away from the hook looking for survivors that they know are coming for the rescue. I play killer enough to know that there are often legitimate and necessary reasons to stay close to the hook and it’s not to facecamp just to be a d###. But you and others who are making these types of dismissive comments seem to think that there is never a legitimate reason for a killer to be near the hook and it’s always because the killer just wants to ruin someone’s game.

I’m totally fine seeing how this plays out but I’m also not going to be dismissive about legitimate concerns from killer players.

They tried something like this a while ago and didn't implement it because survivors abused it. I'm sure that's why they're taking it into consideration this time around.

It's just all these posts popping up acting like killers are going to get perma-banned if they ever step within 16 meters of a hooked survivor again.

The only legitimate concern is this mechanic not affecting the king of face-camping if he can chew through endurance and put you right back on the hook, regardless of who is unhooking.

  • @MrPeanutbutter said:

Stuff like this exists because map design issues continue to be ignored. I don’t blame survivors at all for taking advantage. This is on the devs to fix broken maps

    Agreed.

I even replied to the survivors in that match saying that if the devs are okay with survivors equipping two perks, bringing a map offering, and easily winning, then GG's

Typical dismissive comment from someone who doesn’t care at all about the experience of killer players. Go try playing killer sometime

    Ironic.

The WHOLE REASON they're adding this mechanic is because there are killers who don't care at all about the experience of survivor players. Try getting face-camped sometime.

  • BBQ + Lethal or Bitter Murmur + Lethal should not last long enough to consume 2 tokens of Distortion.

  • I wonder if the killer has to manually control the biopod to aim and shoot survivors. If so, a portion of console players just won't enjoy playing this killer.

  • Hope that they remove the self-unhook at the same time they add the unhook denial.

If I can't leave the game that's fine, but at least let me stop others from unhooking me in front of the killer.

  • Stop acting like if you step one foot closer than what's shown in the last pic that the survivor on the hook immediately unhooks themself, the exit gates magically open, they teleport to the gate, and their t-bagging sets your machine on fire.

    Go patrol gens.

  • SWF will know.

Also, solo survivors could just dodge lobbies if they see a survivor playing as him, to avoid the confusion altogether.

9 times out of 10, the killer will drop chase with them to target me, even if I'm healthy and the survivor they're chasing is injured. Yet, they won't EVER drop chase with me even if others try to bodyblock for me.

I'm NOT going to let the killer see me if I can help it.

Just keep track of where gens have popped and take the killer there so the others can work on gens in peace.

    ---- Edit

This was the match I just finished playing a few minutes ago. Feng injured? I'm healthy? Killer drops Feng and chases me. I run back into Feng, twice, on accident, and the killer sticks on me.

  • Sure, as long as the perk injures the survivor, applies Broken status, and can only be used one per match.

There are some breakable walls that killers would never want to break, as they would open up better pathing for survivors to loop/evade with.

  • @Hexan said:

I would say ceep it audible too the killer, Because I can see way more use of that in time

I only see it being used to BM, antagonize, or annoy the killer.

I just want to point in the killer's direction, not give away my location to headphone killers.

  • The devs should add sounds to the survivor emotes. It would be like clicking your flashlight to get another survivor's attention.

Press the Beckon emote once for the gesture, but press it twice to also make the survivor go "Psst!"

Same for Pointing. Once for the emote only, twice to make your character go "Shhh."

    ----

These are easy to implement across all survivor characters since the sounds are not affected by race or gender.

Just don't make it audible to the killer, and put in a cooldown for the audio to prevent annoying spam.

  • Speaking on behalf of Scott Jund, are we? (unless he got the idea from his chat to begin with)

I agree it would be a nice "game mode" to have (to the detriment of solo q).

  • No, it was a few hours ago. My first time playing Nurse in months and I get "gg lmao" in the post chat.

  • I haven't seen one in over a year, except when I play as him.

I would play him more if his injured sound wasn't the same 10 second loop.

  • I've just started playing Nurse again since her new terror radius / chase music was changed. The chase music has sounds of survivor footsteps in it and it's very disorienting.

  • After the 6 recent matches against Pinhead, give me Blight or Nurse

  • Wow. I just had this happen.

I thought the killer quit. When I got to the score screen, it said I was disconnected.

Thankfully, I didn't get a queue ban for it.

  • Then their stream was unclear...

They only showed this image breifly, with parts of it blacked out, and they even made some comment like "you may see that there are some survivor-only chapters and that's because we're bringing in two licensed killers this year."

Either I misheard or they misspoke. Either way, that was the impression I got.

  • More developer streams?

    At what cost?

We're only getting three new killers this year instead of 4.

(Hope it means the killers are Wesker-tier fun/balanced.)

  • Man, all the face-camping Bubbas are coming out in droves to make sure the devs don't ruin their "fun"

If you don't like being punished for doing nothing but staring at the survivor you managed to hook and that's your only idea of fun... Go play Civilization.

  • Speaking of addendums...

If the killer's inside the penalty radius for more than 10 seconds, the perk Deadlock should deactivate (will not trigger when a gen finishes) until they have left the radius for more than 10 seconds.

Face-campers like to use this perk to buy them time to face-camp and still get 1 or 2 more kills after the 1st.

  • @DBD78 said:

Proxy camping should still be fine though?

What about standing on the second floor on Gideon not close to stairs but the hooked survivor being just below you? A survivor could take you close to hooks on purpose without you "facecamping"..they have to treat this very carefully. I think it can backfire.

They should stop everything from affecting multiple floors. Penalties, boons, drones, terror radii (maybe reduce the terror radius by 75% - 50% if on another floor from the survivor).

Beast of prey is OK imo just because of the extra hunting BP score event

Yes I know you're all going to argue against this "because it has no impact on actual gameplay" but this is just MY opinion

Beast of Prey's Bloodpoint bonus for the Hunting category doesn't work like old BBQ & Chili. The bonus points aren't added after the match, based on how many you earned during the match. No. Instead, it just helps you reach the 10k category cap (during the match) sooner.

I don't know about you, but Hunting is one of the easiest categories for me to fill up.

Beast of Prey needs more, as do all of Huntress' perks.
