Well till now everything is fine.... How long will peace last? I bet a day xd

Knowing these forums, I give it a few hours.

  • Well, this is a question that will totally resolve peacefully.

Both sides of this game can be incredibly entitled, that's just truth. We've seen plenty of the worst cases on this forum. I've seen it all.

Ruin basekit, DS (like old DS) Basekit, ban SWF, Mad Grit being a crutch perk...

I second the demo pet motion. We need this in the game. Literally stop the development of the RE chapter right now to patch this in.

    Resident Evil is temporary.

    Demo is eternal.

  • Hag needs to be deleted.

I mean not really but I hate her so much I can't even explain

  • Wraith.

    - The ringing of The Wraith's bells now instantly kills survivors.

    Demo.

    - Survivors can now pet the Demogorgon.

    The only buffs we need

  • Yeah, that seems accurate.

If we got Scooby Doo legendary skins, I'd never ask for anything again.

    Shaggy main for life.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

Would be nice but I doubt it.

Though I'm not even sure if it's a hit box thing or something else because I've clearly seen the survivor react to getting hit (their grunt scream and throwing their hands up) only for them to not get sick by it...

Did The Entity start giving out vaccines?

Very responsible of the Entity, giving out vaccines in these trying times.

  • Easy.

    Step 1. Choose Ghostface.

Step 2. Equip the from Crouching Movement Speed add-ons.

Step 3. PWYF, STBFL, Devour Hope, and NOED.

    Step 4. Crouch. Never uncrouch.

Congratulations, you are now Smolface the Speed Demon. You can replace all perks except PWYF if you so choose.

    Because it’s still random.

Shroud of Binding helps improve the chances in the off chance a killer chooses to use Shroud of Separation.

I mean, I suppose, but I can't even remember the last time somebody setup seriously used a Shroud of Seperation.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I just used to moderate a forum and know how irritating it was when some buffoon would bring up a subject that had already been discussed prior, especially if that subject was pretty firmly established as "NO", lol.

It's a shame what that guy did. He made a tight little horror movie. Good atmosphere, good monster design. But what he did behind the scenes on one of his previous films was, in my opinion, completely unforgivable. I don't blame BHVR for taking the stance that they did. The company I moderated for was THQ, who did the yearly WWE wrestling games, and when Chris Benoit slaughtered his family the topic of his possible inclusion in future games was a topic of contention for years, even though the answer seemed, to most of us, painfully obvious. Still, I enjoyed hearing both sides. Was he one of the greatest wrestlers in the history of the sport? Absolutely. Did he also kill his wife and child? Yep.

I think that just happens in every forum to be fair. I can't count how many Springtrap threads I've seen.

Gotcha. Thank you for that background.

I agree, it does seem to me like dodging hatches is often a breeze, I barely even try, but then other times it's like "well that building sure came around the corner pretty fast".

You're welcome. I have no idea what to think about Sluzzy, so I just don't take the topics too seriously.

Yeah, that's Huntress. I can't tell you how many times I have seen the Hatchet hit me from meters away, and other times literally see the Hatchet go through me.

I didn't know that the devs even weighed in on the issue. I guess I should have searched longer. It's an understandable viewpoint. I myself saw the film before knowing ANYTHING about it, other than the film's setup: A creature comes around every 23 months to feed for 23 days (or something to that effect). I was looking to catch a film for my 23rd birthday, which happens to take place on September 23. I thought "there is no way NOT to see this movie".

I walked away thinking that it was a lot of fun. It wasn't until afterward that I learned who Victor Salva was. For that reason I can separate the art from the artist but yes, it is a stretch. Generally speaking I don't believe that convicted child molesters should be allowed to have careers, at least not those that are what they were up to when they committed their crimes in the first place.

Shame that the situation is what it is, but I understand the position 100 percent. Again, I hadn't seen the character mentioned anywhere in my travels through the fog so I thought that maybe he simply hadn't been addressed. Guess I'm a little late on that one. :)

I believe it was brought up a decent amount of time ago, in which they responded they had no interest in making a Jeepers Creepers chapter because of the director's crimes. And I'm in the same boat as you- I saw the film way before I knew of what he had done, and I liked the film decently enough. I thought the Creeper was scary, I liked the Premise (even though it was very Pennywise) I do like the Creeper, but it's just... Tough, you know? At the end of the day, even though it has its issues, I'd rather keep DbD far away from it.

And you don't really have to apologize for bringing up old topics. It happens all the time- Hell, I've done it a few times. Mostly on accident, but it still happens. If you haven't discussed it before, it's perfectly fine to make a topic about (imo).

  • Personally? No thank you. While the original creator no longer receives any sort of money from this licence (as far as I am aware) I personally wouldn't want this game tainted by something he created. I can get separating the artist from art, but from a convicted child molester? That's stretching it, in my opinion.

BHVR has already also said they will never make a Jeepers Creepers chapter, and I doubt they would change their mind with this particular issue.

I'm relatively new here still so maybe someone can educate me: Why is Sluzzy considered a troll and everything he or she says "bait"? I'm not saying it's not. I'm also not saying it is. I'm just saying that in the few months that I've been here I've noticed a more or less consistent pattern of topics and areas of concern, with nothing that strikes me as outrageously trollish, like "Spirit is the easiest killer in the game, you guys are all just terrible" or "I can't wait for the new RE DLC, I guarantee you that it will be Marguerite Baker, Ada Wong, and Sherry Birkin". Can someone tell me why this user has a reputation as a baiter? I'd just like to be educated.

On the second issue, I can only express surprise that so many people (way more than Sluzzy) have expressed concern about the size of Huntress' hatchets. I've seen their collision boxes referred to as the size of refrigerators, dumpsters, and even Buicks, lol. Maybe it's luck, maybe it's one of my few hidden skills in this game, but I don't understand where all of this is coming from. This is a video of me playing the game within my first few weeks of owning it, back in late March, and I'm able to get away from those things even though they're basically flying so close they're giving Dwight a shave. I'm nor bragging - I plenty suck at some things in this game - but is what's in this video especially unusual or something? Did I just get crazy lucky here?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyyKIQrWjTc

Because they've made a lot of very outrageous and overgeneralized topics. A lot. All complaining about killers and calling BHVR Killer Mains, refusing to see anything good for survivors, seeing everything as bad for survivors. The Slozzmeister has some good points every now and then, like Tinkerer being ridiculous, but it's buried underneath so much horseshit that it's hard to find.

And, if the DbD stats are anything to believe, Sluzzo is a hardcore nurse main with over 10 000 successful blink hits, and if this person is the same one as the one on steam, they also like to tunnel and face camp, and kill themselves on first hook against anything they find remotely unfun. There's even video evidence of this-- OhTofu uploaded a video playing as a stealth version of Hillbilly. He downed someone named Sluzzy with a cross-map Billy snipe, and that person immediately killed themselves on first hook. With all the evidence piled up, it's extremely hard to take Sluzzy seriously. They aren't worth talking to since they don't talk or discuss, they just repeat their opinion like a baby and refuse to listen to anything anyone else says. They're an enigma.

And as far as Huntresses hitboxes go, they're... Wonky. They're definitely big, and Huntress get;s undeserved Hatchet hits all the time, but I've also seen them hit Survivors, with blood-splatter and everything, and the Survivor not take damage. Dedicated Servers screwed her up.

Are we supposed to take him seriously I thought we were just here for memes

No, and I normally don't, but I do actually feel like Survivor could use a few QoL buffs.

Other than that, there is literally no point in talking to Sluzzy. They are either here for attention, or they're so entitled and don't want any actual discussion, they just want to shout their opinion and not listen to anything the other side may say.

Then again, that's how most of this forum is, Sluzzy is just one of the worst ones on this damn site.

  • While once again, I can't take you seriously because you overgeneralize and overblow everything to fit either your agenda or because you just want attention, I am all for Survivor's getting some sort of buffs.

  • This... Would break the game.

2x Enduring, 2x Brutal Strength? Pallets just don't exist.

4x Resilience, 36% father all actions when injured.

Or 2x Resilience, 2x Spine Chill? Oof.

It'd be fun, but the least balanced thing ever brought to the game.

Its cool to have the real content cheaper but it makes 0 sense. Ya know if we really tried hard though we could have both pretty cheap.

What do you mean it makes zero sense? The actual content is cheap because the optional cosmetics are expensive. And no, unfortunately, we could not. BHVR is a company. They need to make money somehow. If they stopped making as much money as they did on cosmetics, something would have to change. Either the price of chapters themselves would he brought up, or original chapters would have to stop being offered with shards.

BHVR is by no means a perfect company, or Dev team, but in comparison to other games and devs (Looking at you, Hi-Rez) they are pretty damn good in terms of monetization.

  • I am a Wraith main (for now, Demo might steal that title away). I love Wraith, clearly.

He is not top 5. Wraith is very good at getting early hits and playing unsafe pallets, but other killers can do what he does but better. Blight, Nurse, Oni? Spirit? Better map mobility. Even Billy, rest his poor heart, has better mobility. And a good portion of the cast has better chase potential. He suffers from a lack of map pressure, and as long as a survivor is competent, Wraith cannot do a thing about pre-dropping unsafe pallets and long loops.

  • BHVR literally has a Discord for SWF with voice channels.

Why would they ever ban people for playing the game with their friends, most often with a software they literally embrace and offer officially to their players!?

  • Continuous killer nerfs?

You mean like the Wraith buffs we just recently got, the Demo buffs, the decisive and OoO nerfs, the hugely buffed Leatherface...

    Yeah, continuous nerfs.

Both sides get constantly buffed and nerfs.

This game is multiplayer, people have a right to play with their friends, and not only are SWF's rarer then 'every game', but not every one is some sweaty powerhouse.

Can SWF have an advantage? Yes. Does that mean we should ban all SWF? No.

Killers have an advantage over Solo Queue. Should we ban killers that go sweaty against Solo Queue?

No. I get they need to make money but im not tempted to buy any of them because of how much it costs and the value of it.

I mean, clearly people buy the skins. It works. I don't buy skins either. I am 100% okay with optional, purely cosmetic content being expensive if it means I can get six characters, 18 perks, and three new powers for under 15 bucks.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

They cost too much auric cells. Shouldnt cost more money than the character it self. That's like charging more for the toppings of a pizza than the pizza itself. I'm okay with the IS prices though

Genuine question, would you rather it be the other way around? If they lessened the price of cosmetics, the price of the chapters would go up. That is basic economics.

BHVR, at the end of the day, is a company and they need to make money. They could easily charge actual content for 15 dollars, but instead they make cosmetics expensive and actual gameplay changing content for cheap. They even have regular sales.

  • I mean, yeah, sure. I'd rather completely optional skins be expensive compared to the DLC's, which in comparison to other games, is dirt cheap. BHVR can keep the DLC's relatively cheap because their main source of income is cosmetics. I'd prefer it that way, frankly. Then again, that's just my opinion.

Shards are also ludicrously expensive and should be reworked, but I sincerely doing it.

  • Still complaining about DS, huh?

Well, at least Feng didn't do any totems.

Or gens, or heal herself, or unhook anybody.

  • I mean, sure, maybe? But it's not like other popular perks need any brain-power to use.

Sloppy Butcher is one of my favorite perks, but it's just as 'brainless' as BT, if not even more. Both sides have plenty of perks like this.

    Sprint Burst, NOED, Pop, DH.

  • I thought you meant survivor moonwalking, darn.

I wouldn't say it's try harding. What would they rather you do? Hold W, try no mindgames? That's ten times more boring imo.

  • Self-Care isn't inherently bad. It's just how people use it that make it bad.

Running to the corner of the map to brute force your way through a Sloppy Butcher heal? That is bad.

I would not say it was a massive buff, but it certainly benefits the Killer more.

If someone wants to suicide, it takes longer, meaning that a Killer has way more time to get to the Hatch. Meanwhile, a Survivor gets nothing from saving someone who wanted to suicide, because they most likely will not continue playing the game. The last Survivor I saved before they were able to suicide just went afk at the Hook - and this is the better outcome, I have also seen Survivors sandbagging the people who saved them.

That's fair. I may have reacted a little harshly, just not in the best mindset today.

  • @valvarez4 said:

Agree, this change was a massive buff to killer. Killers now have a lot of secs to find the hatch

You wanna ######### on hook? Wait for two skillchecks! Wow!

What a massive buff to killer!!!!!11!11!

Well, I would love to get more Freddy lore, he is my all-time favourite character after all. And to be honest, I really enjoyed the remake, except for one small detail: they did not make Freddy innocent, as originally planned.

As for what he is, well, that was always the idea. Wes Craven had to change it last second because of a high profile investigation which was happening at the time. However, I think they should have made Freddy an innocent man, motivated by revenge instead of lust. A better twist, in my opinion.

I would've found the "He was an innocent man" twist much more gratifying. It would've been an interesting twist on Freddy Kreuger's character,

  • Am I the only one who has never seen Starstruck a single time?

  • @GeneralV said:

Freddy. Give me that sweet ANOES content!

Unfortunately, the Freddy we have is not the good version. If I'm being honest, considering what he is in the remake... I don't think I'd want any kind of lore about him.

That is completely just me, though.

  • I would love to see some Oni lore soon. Oni (imo) is the best killer by far in terms of aeshetics. I also enjoy his lore quite a bit. Other than that, Deathslinger hopefully soon. His lore is also very good. And Blight.

For Survivors? I'd like to see some Jake lore, definitely.

Dead Hard is probably the most complained about Survivor Perk. I don't really care about it myself, but people definitely "still" complain about DH.

Imagine a T3 Mikey just yeeting himself at you across Killer Shack.

  • Hit boxes are (mostly) fine, the hits look wonky for a variety of reasons. The prime one is latency.

  • Definitely not Self-Care.

    :,)

sounds like you didnt get the joke

also on the stats they talked about

I proved it to be wrong/meaningless

and ofcourse you can never trust stats but if they talk stats i talk stats

they also said only survs complain on this discussion is kind of proof against that statement

Both sides complain, plenty. And no, I didn't get the "joke" because there is literally no way to tell when someone is being sarcastic on the Internet. Especially this forum.

And the only issue I have is you bringing in the kill stats, because even if as a joke, bringing them up and using them as a basis for your proof makes you gigantic hypocrite. Especially when the stats are both over a year old at this point, and taken by somebody else. Which again, you said to never trust. So which is it? Trust stats, or don't?

This game is neither killer nor survivor sided, it's far too reliant on RNG and other factors, like the terrible matchmaking.

Didn't you say earlier that you should never trust stats you didn't take yourself?

At least try to hide your hypocrisy.

  • Nah, seems balanced.

  • Because BHVR, the company, probably won't allow it. A balance chapter wouldn't make any money.

You do realize it's not up to the Dev's what their schedule is, right? That's just basic business. They have a higher-up that dictates what they do. The Devs are employees. They have their own schedules to follow.

  • Silent Hill is a PlayStation exclusive, and it still got a PTB.

As a former console player, I completely get it, but I don't think it's a good idea to expect BHVR to abandon the PTB for any reason.

  • It was a tough year, there's no denying that. I feel like a lot of people are forgetting about the global pandemic which certainly had at least some sort of impact on BHVR's quality.

But yeah. Tough, tough year. Some good things, but a lot of bad too.

  • Well, with a series as long going and far-reaching as Resident Evil, it's expected. Hell, I think there are like, what, over 20 Resident Evil games? The numbered of course and all the spin-offs? People choose their favorite, and when people choose their favorites they stick adamantly to that choice.

Nah, I think human Survivors should be the only Survivors we get. It would make sense for non-human Killers at some Point (like Alien(s) or Androids), but I cannot really imagine a non-human Survivor.

Also, if we start with non-human Survivors, we only attract Furrys who want some Catgirls or Foxes in the game. <_< The internet is full of those people.

What sweet hell have you brought upon this land.

At topic, I doubt it quite a bit. At least so far, Dead By Daylight is wholly centered on Earth. I'm not saying it HAS to be, (while I really doubt we'll ever get a Aliens chapter, since Disney now owns the property) but it makes sense for the survivors to be human. Lore wise, the Entity feeds off emotion (it wouldn't really get anything off an Android), and from a gameplay point of view it's easier to attach yourself to a human Survivor. Maybe a Cyborg eventually, but I doubt anything beyond that.

  • Somebody had a bad game. I do agree somewhat, they're a killer designed around slugging. Or, BHVR somehow just didn't see their slugging and camping capabilities.

Your complaint about 1v4 doesn't make any sense though. It's not suddenly 2v4, one of them is incapacitated while the other is being controlled.

1 … 26 27 28 29 30 … 57
