i did NOT post this as a comment , it was it's own discussion and somehow it's shown up as a comment?
i am confuseth
Merged, maybe?
-
That title, I was about to say..
-
My guess is it’d probably be overkill.
-
Spirit. Yeah her gameplay is the most hated, but lore-wise, she did not deserve what happened to her. At all.
Trapper would probably give the best hugs, imo
-
Some people don’t wanna play games to improve.
I know I don’t, lmao. At least not with DBD. It’s whatever at this point, considering it’s state on console.
-
Lovely.
-
Of all the things you could’ve thought of..
This had to be the one, huh
-
Ain’t that some #########
-
I guess everyone has a different experience.
Almost everyone on my team are potatoes. Like me. 😄 Except the Killer is actually decent, lol.
-
You’re an odd one.
But anyways, sounds like jealousy.
-
Good stuff, now hopefully you take a break from this game.
I could never do something like this in any game, especially DBD. Don’t have the patience. 🤣
-
I buy them because I want them; I’m thinking of myself, not other people as it won’t affect them in any way.
I think the only way to get BHVR to notice is if people stopped playing their game entirely.
But, most people aren’t going to do that either.
-
Coming from you, I feel like this is satire.
-
A big part, I’m sure.
I’m bi, but I only wear the flag on characters I have headcanons for being LGBT+ or deeply supportive of it.
-
I used to despise all three. Heavily.
As of now: Camping and slugging, while slightly annoying, aren’t an issue for me. I just play on my phone and move on once the match is over. (Except when I gotta struggle of course).
Tunneling however, requires my full attention and thus, I find most annoying. Tunneling is only fun if I can actually loop the player chasing me, otherwise it’s.. ugh.
-
Jake: I honestly don’t know/forgot. Playing as him just felt natural, but I did love the scarf.
Yui: The cosmetics and her muscles 😌

Ace players are the most chaotic beings in existence.
They'll either bust out 6 gens, rescue 5 Survivors, open three exit gates, while looping you into retirement, or die instantly at the start of the game.
Omg this
Ace mains are legitimately scary.
-
- Not too much and not rarely either
- I’m usually the first one down
- Almost never, unless I just so happen to see the lit totem. If the game goes so well for us, that all we have to worry about is NOED, then I don’t mind dying
-
Indeed.

Survivors refusing to do their objective and purposely making it impossible for the killer to finish their objective don't try to survive, they hold the game hostage. If you touch the gens, then no, you aren't going to be banned. But when you don't touch gens AND you make it impossible for the killer to find you, you hold the game hostage. The killer can get out of the game only if they find you, and if you make it impossible for them to do so, then they are literallyally stuck in a game that neither them or you will finish.
Thank you.
-
If it isn’t taking the game hostage, then it has to fall under Griefing and/or Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Refusing to participate in gameplay.
That’s just my guess.
On the other hand, they could just be bad at the game, like Rank 20 or something.
-
- Love your username
- That is reportable, under Griefing/Working with the Killer

I started playing Claudette more once she got the curly fro.
Afro and glasses, she’s rockin’ my style. 😌
-
Oh my goodness, thank you
-
Most of my friends just call him Hellraiser, so I’m sticking with that lol
-
Why did I click on this thread, thinking you’re talking about some kind of charm or mask for Huntress?
😓😖
-
Reading this thread, I think I see where you’re getting at. You just wasn’t as.. clear the first time? Correct me if I’m wrong.
Nonetheless: The game states, “Kill all Survivors, blah blah”, but never really states to do it a certain way other than the classic. It never explicitly says “camp/tunnel to win” and even the game’s mechanics are against it.
However,
I wouldn’t say it’s false information, as the game also doesn’t state that you shouldn’t do it. As you mentioned, camping/tunneling are still viable strategies.
As long as they’re strategies that lead to killing survivors, there should be no fuss. Most people who excessively camp/tunnel/slug don’t care about emblems, performance and all that anyway.
They play to kill and kill only, which is probably what they mean when they say “It’s my objective to kill”. Not go for style points.

Apparently so... I don't get the stuttering. I only get stutters when I play against Nemesis (it's at its worst and that's how I know it's Nemmy before I actually see him), dead hard which I or any other console players I'm sure you know can't use anymore, unhooking whether it's me or my teammates or with Sloppy Butcher. Sometimes just random but it's so rare for it to randomly stutter. It's usually one of the 4 causes listed.
The exact same thing goes on with my PS4 when it comes to lagging. It’s only Nemesis, Deadhard, and sometimes unhooking will cause lag.
When I switched to PS4 Pro (Due to cleaning my main console and giving it a break), I constantly crashed.
-
What is this?
I like this. 🍿
I’m gonna read your past posts to catch up.
-
Jake finally having his own tome, his cute figurine charm, and other charms unique to him. I’ve been waiting so long for this.
Although, once I complete the rift, I’m taking a long, much needed break from DBD.
-
Something about efficiency.
You’ll need Prove Thyself to get the most of it.
-
They’re bad, because it seems you pay too much attention to their platform, then somehow correlate it with certain negative behaviors.
Maybe matchmaking kept pairing you with terrible teammates.
Maybe you’re just remembering the bad matches and not so much the good ones. It’s easy to do that.
Either way, your statement is not a healthy mindset. Anyone thinking like that typically goes from “(platform) players are bad” to “everyone is bad except me”.

The aura reveals are when you tier up in madness, not when you scream.
Just got done with a custom match.
Seems like I was wrong either way. There’s no aura reveal at all. With Doctor and his base power, at least.
-
Calm Spirit does exactly what it’s intended to do: stopping you from screaming.
However, it doesn’t protect you from aura reveals from Doctor, no matter the add-on. A friend and I tested this in custom matches.
Although, I’ll point out that the test was a few months ago. Whether or not it was glitch, remains unknown.
I’ll test it again to be sure.
-
Two things:
- Issues in the game that’ll make it completely unplayable. And I mean, completely.
- Losing all of my progress by any means.
-
Laughing at misfortunes, including my own. The funniest are when they’re completely out of anyone’s control.
I also love making sure my characters are well-dressed, and/or aesthetically pleasing before the trial. Something about showing off cool outfits are fun to me.
Lastly, I stopped taking this game seriously for.. serious reasons, lol. When there’s too many gameplay errors, bugs, and frame-rate issues going on for so long, you’d eventually just stop taking DBD seriously.
-
City Map. 😌
-
I don’t find any Killers boring either.
However.. Oni, Pyramidhead, Demo, Plague, and Trickster brings a smile to my face. ☺️
To me, their powers are all engaging.

I'm glad you and others have requested this, as it means this "suggestion" is doing at least something right, and can only be improved upon by community feedback. I thank you and others like you, who appreciate my efforts to make this list as unbiased as possible, but as some in the community have also pointed out, No one has the right to go around telling people how to play the game and not expect some backlash.
I never intended for it to come across that way (as some kind of "imagined authority" trying to force others to play in any certain way), and only want to help new players get into the groove of things by informing them that a lot of what they do is completely fine... up to a point, and while there are a lot of freedoms to this game, there are also some limits. Rule 9 for example is new due to suggestions from the community, and I hope I worded it right. While it doesn't outright tell new players that they don't have the rights/freedom to be a toxic player, it does inform them that there's only "so much" toxic behavior that the community will put up with.
I'm not trying to be a fascist with these "made up rules" or try to control peoples behavior in the game, I'm just making a few open minded suggestions that I can only hope people will keep in mind when they play, as I believe having these in mind makes the game a better experience for everyone.
Overall, I created this list just wanting everyone to have fun, keep in mind that the other players fun matters too, and while everyone is free to play this game in any way they see fit, a little fellow courtesy and good sportsmanship is heavily appreciated.
That being said, Unfortunately I don't think this will get pinned, because the devs don't want to commend/acknowledge this either formally or informally, and I can't really blame them for that. While this list may receive community support from people like you, the devs will always see it for what it is: a list of "made up rules" that no one is obligated to follow. Showing their support for it/pinning it might be misconstrued as making it the "official" ruleset, and I/nobody wants that.
Thank you again for your kind words and encouragement! I will keep striving to make improvements on this list, and hope that others will both agree with it, as well as keep it in mind when they play.
If there is anything that feels wrong or biased about it, Please inform me, so I can continue making improvements.
I understand where you’re coming from, I don’t expect anyone to follow them either. Everyone can have their own playstyle, as long as they’re not breaking DBD’s official rules. You didn’t come across as demanding at all, at least to me.
I revere this post, because it’s close to the mindset I have now about about DBD. I apply most of these statements to myself only. For me, it’s good to show kindness and respect, but I don’t expect the same treatment regardless of what I do. I know I can’t control everything.
Once that got out of the way, I started having fun in DBD. Even if I failed or succeeded. I simply believe that if some people had this mindset, then they can have fun too. Obviously it’s not for everyone, but I think it’s worth a shot.
-
Can we have this pinned? Some people who aren’t new to this game still don’t get most of the things stated here. (Myself included).
A reminder is always nice.

Jake and Yui look good...they didn't need a change, but Sheriff Jake is a shmexy man indeed.
I just think changing characters like David, Kate, and Feng for the worse isn't fair. They didn't need it either and look worse now.
It's not even Nostalgia either because I think most of the faces look good to fineish. It's ok to not like the faces and it's ok to like them. Being dismissive of the issue is frustrating, because those same people will always defend the game even when console was and still can be unplayable.
I can’t really emphasize with you on that, but I do feel sympathy. If my mains were changed for the worst, I’d probably throw a fit as well.
Can only hope that whoever designed them will listen to feedback.
-
I main Jake and Yui. Both of them looked great before and they still look great now.
That’s all that really matters to me. Although, I do miss Jake’s old model sometimes.
-
Nowadays, it’s Spirit. And if I do see her, the player is usually low ranked.
-
At it again, I see.
Maybe I’m the one taking this too seriously.
-
He’s pansexual. 😎
Seriously though, I think they’re just talking about his past and heritage, lol. Jake also comes from a rich family, talks to himself, loves nature instead of technology and such. He’s not exactly considered normal.
-
There are different, alternate universe versions of every Killer and Survivor in DBD, therefore almost any ship is canon.
(I heard from someone that this is actually true, but I’ve yet to find anything on it)
