This isn't about that, this is about survivors trying to misrepresent their loadouts in the lobby because they know the killer might use counter-play perks against them. Don't try to deflect.

So the alternative is not let anyone change out a load out, thus rendering franklin's the biggest what if perk imaginable? Make it so survivors can't change 30 secs in. Gives the killer plenty of time to adjust without rendering franklin's useless.

Yes it is hard to play against survivors who want to survive and win at all costs, thats true. Thats why SWF they is hard to beat as killer, because they play to win.

The game doesnt challenge survivors AT ALL, if 4 randoms only wanted to win and not have fun, theyde win every match just zooming to gens nonstop.

The game doesnt even challenge you enough to want to do better as survivor, because doing better is boring. How this isn't understood is baffling to a degree.

You said yourself you hardly if ever play survivor and are honestly trying to explain to a survivor main who also plays about 1 killer match for every 3 survivor matches how easy solo survivor is?

Like what are you saying, that if four random survivors who can't communicate were to simply communicate with eachother then it would be easy for them?

Which is why they aren't asking for them to be unlocked. They just want equal treatment across the board.

Thats as silly as asking for survivors to be able to hook people and killers to be able to do gens. Because that's equal treatment.

  • @Respectfulnancymain said:

are you serously complaining about something that helps you?

You do realize this is being implemented to make matches easier for you when you play killers you don't usually use?

At this point people will start complaining that survivors can do gens but they can't.

But the killer can't react to it. By last-second-switching with 6 seconds left the killer can't react and throw on something like lightborn. You're basically having your cake and eating it too.

I think you're getting mixed up. I'm not referring to killers last-second-switching to throw off that stupid cheat survivors have been using, but survivors switching in the lobby at six seconds left from something like a default meg or dwight to a P3 Legacy with a flashlight or key.

    https://youtu.be/CINU304uZYw?t=40

Example of what I'm talking about. If we're going to lock the killer, the survivor player's well, survivor, and item should be locked at like 30 seconds in the lobby (Changing perks, addons, and cosmetics is fine)

That's the problem. The only real counter-play for the killer is to just bring lightborn and franklin's every damn game in anticipation of a last-second-switch, and since survivors might be trying to last-second switch to Blendette or Legacy we might as well initiate the Ebony Mori's For Everyone protocol. YOU GET MORI'D! AND YOU GET MORI'D! EVERYONE GETS MORI'D!

I get amazed when someone sees a flashlight was brought in, downs someone in the open, doesn't sweep the area or even attempt to looks towards a wall, then is shocked they were flashlighted.

Also, the whole purpose of a flashlight is to blind the killer, I'm not sure how someone being blinded is some big uproar. And no, I am not talking about 4 man swf flashlight teams.

Also, I'm not sure posting a vid of someone getting a 4k (or 4k equivalent) really helps your case.

Survivors arent really against the clock at all because killers have ZERO ramp up time for anything that isnt totally counterable as a hex perk by comparison to survivor. Maybe if the game actually got harder as gens progressed thatd be true, but it actually gets easier because killer now has to pressure gens constantly if only 1 or 2 are left.

Yes eventually surv's run out of hook lifes and pallets, but it only takes 3 mins to do all the gens. If every survivor holds the killer off for 30 seconds, they all win assuming the killer doesn't camp/tunnel.

Unless they get basically insta-downed nonstop, its over. Its not even fun to play survivor its so easy. It attracts the worst players who dont even want to challenge themselves.

I would enjoy survivor if it were far harder than it is. It would actually FEEL like ive accomplished something, like surviving was DIFFICULT. BUT ITS SO EASY thats its BORING as hell and expected if you make only a few mistakes.

clearly you're not playing much survivor matches. Killer is hard, survivor is hard. The only thing not hard is swf.

Its the same for killer i like to level up other killer during the time im searching for a game. But lobby locking the survivor will remove the possibility to bring multiple item at the last second. Lets say i try legion and i dont have franklin or lightborn on him and i see a lobby full of item i can just dodge that lobby and find another lobby and the survivor that were there dont lose the priority they had for a game. Now i see you have zero item and you swich last second and i dont have the time to dogde then i will quit during the loading screen like that i dont get the dc penality and my queue are still fast but the survivor who were in this lobby just lost the priority they had for a game and they need to reset the queue time that not healthy for the game

Or you could play the game and let matchmaking try to do it's thing? Imagine survivors complaining about not being able to dodge moris.

The ones who do dodge do so by DC'ing, and people hate them for it... same idea here.

    so, the developers just
     announced the new rank system
    and how it will work,
I'm here to give my opinion,
and why I think there are
    several flaws in this new
    system.
    why does every killer have
    a proper rank system? let's
     take an example: I play
     with strong killers like
     spirit and freddy and
    let's say that I also
    play with some bad killers
     like pig and clow, I
    obviously win a lot of
     games with strong killers,
     because there is not much
     skill to play with them,
    what makes they annoying
     killers to play against,
     (remember that), while
     with weak killers and
    sometimes fun I don’t win
    much, all this mixed will
    transform the games of
    "" "superior skill and
    better players" "" full
     of boring games with
    spirit, freddy, nurses,
     and hardly find cool
    killers to face like
     hustress, hillbily and etc
    ,you also can say goodbye
     to average killers and
     weak killers because a
    lot of people lose with
     them, that is: matches
    with the best players will
     be filled with strong
    killers, and if you on
    the other hand, even
     novice players who do not
     know how to play will
    fall with lesser tier
     killers but will still
     lose games because they
     get matches with players
who know how to play well
     but who have lost often
    because they use weak
    killers, and when the game
    interprets that they are
    "bad" and matches that
    person to others of the
    same level, so bad players
    are paired with good
    players because the player
    uses bad killers.
    another problem, is how the
     system will detect that
     the survivor is really
     good?
if any rank 20 meg drops
all the pallets on the map and has a 2-minute chase while the other teammates have a 20-second chase because they don’t have resources on the map, I don’t know if the system will work like that but it really looks like it will, because it is almost impossible to create a bot that really knows how to detect a good survivor, so I think this system would only work if it depended on how many matches you win.
    and also the excess?
    mementos? swf members who
    only make a generator ?,
     users of keys ?, killers
    who use iredecent addons?
    killers with lagged
    internet? I still think
    there are thousands of
    things to improve on the
    ranking system and I don't
    think this new system will
work, do you agree with me?

No, I don't agree. Not with your theory or your method of posting.

I'm fine with killer lock as long as they lock survivors too. Really everyone's load out should lock when they search for a match, once lobby is full it should immediately load into a match. No more last minute changes for anyone.

Oh look, a man of reason.

But still, even without that. The fact that killer gets to see items at all before the match is already a positive for them.

    To be fair:

One ruins a game in progress.

The other is mildly inconvenient sense lobbies with a dodged killer have priority to get a new one.

They're both doing the same exact thing. The only difference is the survivor who DC'ed had no information about who the killer was or what he was running, so obviously they weren't able to dodge beforehand.

Imagine getting consistently surprised by optimal SWF squads and getting screwed over because you weren't paying attention and happened to pick a killer hard-countered by swf.

Imagine having low viability killers in this game.

Imagine playing killer at rank 1.

Obviously you've never had a problem with this because you're some kind of god gamer who can 4k every game with Clown, right?

Rank doesn't matter so much that this next matchmaking system doesn't even count rank towards anything.

Good lord. I’m 95% of the time on the side of killers, but there are a bunch of whining killers about this. Being paired against lower skilled (game knowledge, perks, items, moment etc) and still finding a reason to whine is beyond belief. Give up killer and play handheld survivor.

Apparently the fact that maps and flashlights even exist is enough to drive some people mad.

Is your reading comprehension low or something?

Of course I get ######### annoyed when someone DCs, it throws the whole game. Also, I'm not even talking about DCs I'm talking about lobby dodging 👏 pay 👏 attention.

Also also, if want to 'git gud', in this new MMR system, I should throw on OP add-ons or bring an ebony Mori, right? How the ######### do you determine skill in this game with an algorithm when there are literally a million ways to get ######### over?

I thought the irony in someone hating DC's but supporting lobby dodging was great until you just raged out there and missed every point entirely after asking if I could read... that definitely is a better form of irony.

  • The matchmaking is ideally self correcting. If it errors and gives you a sweaty 4 man you can't handle then the next game will automatically give you less experienced players.

In a perfect world eventually you'll be facing less experienced 4 mans and more experienced solo survivors.

  • I GOT IT. Survivors can't switch out items and even their add ons are displayed... but killler add ons are thus displayed too. Fair and balanced, right?

Even though I haven't tried it it doesn't invalidate the concern. I'm not saying the game is ruined I'm not screaming bloody murder I'm just saying this may not be the QOL improvement everyone thinks it is. But we'll see. That's an expression of concern.

Also your replies to others on this thread are very dismissive and insulting so I'm not going to reply again say what you will. I made my point I'll waste no more time on you or it.

    K. My bad for calling out bad arguments based on zero experience with the next matchmaking.

I still play wraith or hag when theres a bunch of flashlights 🤷‍♂️

For Fred or Trapper you can still switch out your perks for hex third seal.

This is just a strange thought process for me as ive never switched out my killers based on what i see in lobby. Ill switch perks out sometimes but thats usually pretty rare too.

I know, right? Imagine someone being so unsure of their skills that they let the four survivors decide their killer choice for them.

sigh, I'm not whining I'm saying I had the option to choose the kind of game I felt like partaking in without being panalised with extended queue by dropping out of lobby to change killers. So this change seems like more of an annoyance than an improvement.

I'm not whining I'm expressing my concerns with this change, giving the more rigid design. Think before you post it helps a lot.

You're "expressing concern" with extreme hypotheticals and complaining about something you haven't even tried out yet, no?

  • @wisdomwielder said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1462647#Comment_1462647

3 flashlights and you happen to be playing Hag or Wraith.

Obvious SWF and you're playing Trapper or Freddy (high chance of OoO)

There are literally dozens of reasons why I would want to change killers based on what I see in the lobby. I appreciate the individual MMR ratings for each killer, but this is going to create ton of lobby dodging as well.

Are you the same type of person who cries when someone DC's?

It's a self correcting system. If you get a horrible game it'll give you better odds next time.

  • @pseudechis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1462681#Comment_1462681

Oh so now we have sanctioned lobby dodging. great. This keeps getting better and better.

If you're going to whine about what items are being brought, you can do whatever you please. Sure.

Also, when have 4 maps ever been used in a single match. I love these hypotheticals.

  • @Majora said:

this is not worth it, if the dev's are gonna lock us into a killer now in lobby. Going against a bunch of flashlights with hag is not fun.

Besides, most killers all share the fundemental basics of the game. So i really don't think this system is necesarry at all. I think this system will make most average killers experience even worse.

And lets not even bring up how people can cheat and see the killer in the lobby bringing items to counter them. I have seen them all switch to flashlights when i go hag

So your nurse and trapper skill level is exactly the same? Please stop being rediculous.

  • @pseudechis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1462654#Comment_1462654

I don't see how this helps killers. I queue as trapper I see maps, I think maybe I don't want everyone knowing where my traps are all game I'll switch out to someone else. Nope. Great.

Its not the end of the world but seriously it's disheartening when they reduce functional choice.

Then leave the lobby. The point is to give you survivors based on your skill with an individual killer. Idc who you are, your trapper vs spirit skill level will never be the same.

  • Imagine people complaining for ages for different matchmaking and then instantly complaining about new matchmaking before they've even tried it.

  • @Athanar90 said:

What if you're going up against a flashlight squad and the killer you picked doesn't have Lightborn or Franklin's?

What if survivor items weren't shown at all in the lobby?

Keeping survivors locked doesn't do anything because survivors are just skins, killers are actual different playstyles.

But you also said you haven't run any Doc with good build except mobile, implying you didn't go against decent Doc on anything else

I said I haven't encountered a doctor build that felt unfair, and I havent.

  • Because their main player base is steam so when they run into the inevitable 100 issues they'll run into, they'd rather not piss us off even more.

  • Who said anything about calm spirit? If he blasts your position either run away or hide in a new one..

And even impossible skill checks build is fine. I was referring to dbd mobile where his skill checks are impossible without any add-ons.

  • I solo run OoO and you won't believe how many people get mad at me for "cheating" by telling others (the whole 0 other people I'm playing with) his location... this even happened with a wraith. Like dude, OoO against you is a major buff for you.

  • His static blast goes through walls, the floor/ceiling is just another wall.

Also, why do so many people think Doctor is OP? I've yet to go against any doctor build that felt unfair...except In mobile. His snap out of it skillchecks on mobile fly a mile a minute and are just simply broke.

  • Until killers and solo surivors (even 2 man swf) acknowledge that swf is ruining the game's balance for everybody else, nothing will be fixed. Buffing killers only hurts solo players, nerfing survivors only hurts solo players.

Hey, OP wanted something similar, when we have a perk for it. That's like people asking for a totem counter, when we have Small Game and Detectives Hunch. Or Killers talking about flashlight blinds, when we have Lightborne. Heck, DS is often a waste when I add it into my build. It's there as a backup, just in case it does happen.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1459600#Comment_1459600

O well then. Hold out for two minutes on hook so your team can hammer out gens. Or don't, and move on. You idea is pretty abusable. Survivors simply follow a killer to hook, then hover around, punishing the killer. How is that fair? Or when all gens are powered, and those same survivors have 99% the gates. Then it just becomes a hostage situation.

You know Borrowed Time is a decent counter to faceamping. Run DS as well, just in case. Or give up on hook and move on to another game.

No but that perk is absolutely useless. A lot of perks are. A perk existing with the idea to counter something isn't the same as actually countering it.

I don’t think anything needs to be done. You have killers who choose to play super sweaty. The natural balance to that is a coordinated swf.

also, not every swf play like Seal trained gamers. Most are just casuals having fun. Devs have already said they would never remove/limit what perks someone wants to use.

You don't need to play like a coordinated military effort to still in casual chat give away info that alert, bond, empathy, and kindred all give....for free.

  • There are three "player groups" as of right now. Solo and possibly casual 2 man swf, 3-4 man sweaty swf, and killer.

As devs continue to balance the game mostly with sweaty swf in mind, killers and solo survivors will forever be given a raw deal unless that's changed. Nerfing all survivors just hurts solo survivors and buffing all survivors to make solo a better experience just hurts killers.

My idea is and has always been to limit the amount of perks each swf member has, depending on how many are in the group.

  • @Rivyn said:

We have a perk for that.

    Camaraderie:

Life has taught you the importance of friendship which has given you strength.

While you are on the Hook in the Struggle Phase, Camaraderie activates.

If another Survivor is within 16 metres of your Hook while Camaraderie is activated, the Struggle Phase timer is paused for 26/30/34 seconds

Comaraderie wastes a perk slot and accomplishes less than that person just doing a gen. Lol

  • 4 man SWF is a plague on killers and solo survivors. Hell, even 2 man groups is okay because they're not straight up triangulating the killers position the way 4 man swf does.

Also, the devs seem to try to balance survivors with swf in mind only. Completely neutering all semblance of fair solo play for survvors.

  • @Tactless_Ninja said:

Same perk pool for all players in an SWF group would be a reasonable change imo. No more stacking 4x4 second chance perks with coordination.

I personally would also go as far as limiting the amount of same item type. We all hate the combinations of 4 styptics/syringes, 4 BNPs, 4 sabo boxes, 2 BNPs with a map and a key etc.

Simple solo buff would be showing other survivor's perks and equipped items at the lobby. And each solo survivor could have one-time-use glass bead in each match that lasts one minute. Although that would make totems even more weak but devs should make them better hidden anyway.

What's funny is that they already show perks and items on mobile.

  • Then 1 perk for 2-3 and 2 perks for 4. I mean they already get a free alert, bond, kindred, empathy anyway.

  • Imagine being mad that someone didn't DC...

OP isn't arguing. They're simply saying, for anyone that cares that:

I'm too damn apprehensive to hop into a match because most likely I'm going to be matched with people far outside my skill level. Not to mention sweaty swf can turn an otherwise fun match into a miserable one.

Also this is what they said, not "[I want] a fair and balanced game".

I just want a fair and balanced matchmaking system

As for the 'burn the non-Killer player' statement, what are you even talking about?

Me saying that you should be able to understand that winning =/= fun?

Sorry I was more referencing this other person on the hate train, that was unfair to include it in my comment to you.
