In reality, most high rank players don't view the game like this, they view it on point system and pip system.

Uh, no? I think most high rank players don't actually view the ranking system as anything other than "I played this month". Most high rank players play because they either enjoy the mechanics or are addicted to the grind, mostly both.

Maybe if you're a Tru3 fan you look at the game this way, but I find the idea of playing for pips/rank absurd. It's extremely easy to reach rank 1 past a certain skill threshold, which is lower than most other games' highest ranking skill ceilings. Far lower. If you care only about ranking up you've probably got a screw loose. Rank 1 means nothing in this game for the people who play consistently.

Be careful, thinking that way only proves you just bought the game yesterday. Lol

Okay, you are obviously a very stubborn thick headed person that can't accept when they are incorrect. You can keep thinking the way you do, and keep thinking that 2/2 is fair and balanced. Have a good night dude

Actually I'm asking you to name one instance of something you yourself said happens all the time. Please enlighten me.

OP is complaining that the ranking system is causing them not to have fun.

If you've played Killer against Red Ranks/played Killer in the past 4 months you should know how possible it is to have a miserable game and 4k.

You can't argue with OP that saying they're not having fun is ridiculous because they got a 2k.

The two things are not linked for everyone.

Actually his argument is he wants a fair and balanced game.

And wow I love how even a post about an illogical argument is somehow translated to "this guy never played killer before and I know this because of...reasons.. so burn him!"

    You guys are too much.

Are you for reals right now? The things you say are why I am talking down to you, because you have no idea what you are talking about. It is entirely possible for the outcome I just stated to happen, and it happens quite often to a lot of players. Its mathematically possible because this game isnt just about getting kills. It's about how you do it. I can get 4 kills instantly as Oni and come out with 12k points. Or I can get 4k Kills and come out with 32k.

If you don't want to be treated like a child don't join in on a conversation you can't keep up with or comprehend and expect people to take you seriously when you have no way to validate anything your saying other than your low rank solo queue survivor experiences.

Good. Name one instance. Otherwise you're just making things up to prove a pointless point.

2/2 in a single match is not balance. The balance has always been an AVERAGE of 2/2.

Keep throwing new killers against rank 2a, especially without the random noob joining in on occasion, the "balance" would be completely #########.

Nickeh you can't just take a single game where although he 2Kd, and say "there, that's balanced!". Any semblance of balance will need to be taken from stats over a large number of games.

I never once said the current matchmaking is perfect or even great. I did, however, state that using a photo where the end results of the killer is above a perfect average of all scores is a bad way to express that.

  • @MeatBycicle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1457349#Comment_1457349

I don't want to derail this guys topic, but I do want to address this because people bring it up all the time. In a vacuum you think 2/2 is fair and balanced and it is. You are right.

But this is a 1v4, not a 1v1. Each survivor is an individual and each survivor can perform at drastically different levels of play. You can have 3 survivors Do all the gens, run the killer, do all the unhooking, and you can have 1 Claudette do nothing the entire match but hide and get to escape at the end. Did the Claudette win? It seems that you think getting killed, escaping or getting kills is what you consider a win. In reality, most high rank players don't view the game like this, they view it on point system and pip system.

If in a real game as a killer I get 2 kills, and 2 escape. At the end game screen I get 20k points and each survivor gets 30k+. Fair right? Balanced right? Each of those survivors including the ones that died pipped or double pipped. While I as the killer got 2 kills but how did I get them? 1 hook each? 2 hooked? How long were the chases? I will either at best black pip or at worst depip.

So no, in this game at higher levels 2/2 is NEVER balanced at all, and in actuality is only a good thing for survivors. That's all I'm saying.

Name one match where you received 20k and all survivors received 30k or else it's another gross exaggeration on your part... especially one where 2 escaped and 2 were killed... or even just explain how that's mathematically possible.

I also don't appreciate your childish attempts at acting condescending towards me over calling out an unreasonable argument.

  • @MeatBycicle said:

This is 100% because there are no actual low rank survivors who play the game solo. Any survivor who would be new to the game usually is brought into the game by a friend who is already a higher rank so they queue with them.

What this does is make finding a match as a lower rank killer incredibly long and difficult because it can't find 4 solo rank 20 survivors for you, so after a certain amount of time it just throws you into a group of survivors that have been waiting in queue and it doesn't give a damn what your rank is.

I'd just like to state that clearly this match is unbalanced. Because im not a crazy person who denies the obvious.

  • @MeatBycicle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1457332#Comment_1457332

Okay I realize you don't understand this game in an in-depth level and at higher play. To you're survivor sided view of this, you think all that matters is if the killer gets a kill. I can kill all 4 survivors and actually lose a pip. So then what? Sure I killed all the survivors but I lost rank actually. Is that fair?

I can 2 hook EVERY survivor and all 4 can escape and I can either barely pip or black pip and thats okay?

Yet a survivor can do 1 gen, get 1 unhook, get chased by the killer a bit and more than likely pip even if they die. Based off the way you talk I can tell you don't play at a high level, so you don't understand how hard it is for killers which I doubt you even play yourself. But please keep telling us whats "fair" and "balanced" in your reality.

That was a nice straw man you built of me. I also love how you overestimate how easy it is to pip as survivor and underestimate pipping for killer. Survivor is easier to pip than killer, everyone can agree to that, but not by the degree you just described. Also, we literally agree that it should be easier to pip as killer... so I'm not sure what you're debating at this point.

However, to flat out say that there being 4 survivors and 2 losing with 2 winning is unfair is the only biased thing I've read on this thread.

  • @Orion said:

  • @MeatBycicle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1457322#Comment_1457322

Because what you stated isn't balanced period. It's 100% survivor favored only, if you think a 2 kill 2 escape is balanced. No killer would ever think or say this. Also based off your other posts, yeah, you are a survivor main.

But you are right that the pip system does need to be fixed.

If 2 people dying and 2 escaping is 100% survivor sided then we clearly can't agree on reality here.

  • So instead

So instead of addressing the issue that killer pipping should be reworked, suddenly this is yet another "survivor vs killer " discussion because I pointed out how ridiculous it is to use the word unbalanced on a results screen that couldn't be more balanced?

Yes, I'm the one showing bias when apparently your idea of balance is the killer receiving more than 2 kills and more points than all other players? Okay.

  • @MeatBycicle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1457288#Comment_1457288

Why does it matter? He could have gotten 4k that's not the issue.

His score and kill results are basically a perfect average of all other players. On a post complaining about balance, he literally has the most balanced screenshot he could post.

  • @SweetTerror said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1457288#Comment_1457288

Did you even read my post? I never complained that I couldn't get a 4K, I simply mentioned how mismatched the MMR is.

The result was apparently fair and balanced if it reached 2k and 2 survived, though. If you're going to base anything on rank alone then youre going to have a bad time.

  • You got a 2k and about 20k points, and decided you needed to write a forum post about how terrible that is?

The wait times, I'm right there with you... but the rest is ridiculous.

This. Old Freddy was a walking carpet for survivors to walk all over unless you ran an incredibly specific build that focused on one incredibly specific part of the game and ignored the rest of it (The forever door build)

Also, I repeat this again: Why would you want old Freddy back? He was literally an m1 killer, his only power was to make it so he could interact with survivors... That's terrible (again, outside of forever door).

You stalked your dreaming survivors to know which survivor was working on what and with who, and then planned your attack. His power was way more of a mind game then let's say...spirits.

  • @ Antares2332 said:

solo survivors they already have a lot of information. they can see survivors hooked, hanging and they can know when the killer comes with terror radius

Yeah, that information was good enough back when bbq was the most threatening perk a killer had at their disposal. Not so much now.

But yes, the point remains that swf and solo need to be treated differently on some way.

First off you posted that like 5 times

second off: I specifically mentioned Pig. Other stealth killers laugh at OoO because it's basically free info but Pig's crouch is best used when just outside TR radius because of the movement speed debuff. OoO removes that completely, makes getting ambushes as Pig very hard, especially if they're SWF

1.) Who would have thought a buggy game also has a buggy forum?

2.) Why would a pig intentionally use her power just outside the TR of someone running ooo, why would anyone think that's a good idea? I can definitely get behind it being a nightmare for Trapper, though.

  • @Soapbar said:

    • On a really good runner it makes them impossible to catch since they'll have a bajilion year headstart always
    • Knowing where you are at all times means the Object always knows the optimal thing to do at all times
    • A lot of OoO's use it to taunt the killer from safety
    • And of course, it's completely broken in SWF

You do realize that although the ooo can see you entering stealth, all stealth killers can see the survivor aura while the ooo cant see theirs? Stealth killers are a major counter to ooo, it's actually stupidly powerful for the killer.

Spirit was weak upon her release. Then they tweaked her and she's good. GF was terrible on the ptb but luckily they saw that and adjusted him. GF still isn't old nurse lvl. When I play as him most survivors don't have trouble revealing me. I don't play as spirit cause I suck at phasing.

If you want old school nurse type killers, does that mean survivors should want old school pallet spawns and infinites?

yea you just threw random thought without giving thinking about circumstances

and again you threw "ppl complaint about 60 sec" without any thought but there is 2 types of complaints 1st is from ppl like scott (that dont tunnel) and 2nd is from pure tunnelers that are waiting over someones body with timer

with 1st case chase is better (because they wont follow you around to increase timer) and as killer you have control over timer

2nd case are happy because they can wait over your body for 60 secs with timer (and noone is questioning slugging should stop timer)

and about your 1st quote(i wont call it argument) you assumed killers wont manipulate TR just to remove that timer xd (for freddy it will be always 15 seconds(edit, it will be only 15 sec if you got hit via BT), wait its now 30 but still, btw you didnt noticed that change xd) nemesis exist, wraith, GF ... there is a reason why deep wounds were changed into running from TR

and again when someone is chasing you for 60secs (and because of that youre in TR) does that mean youre not tunneled? answer it! all we're doing here is finding way to make it stronger vs tunnelers and weaker vs killers that dont tunnel (and youre telling me omg it will be stronger than current) <surprised pikachu face> its goal of a rework??

edited: nvm about freddy, freddy would only work with BT hit

No one in their right mind is suggesting to buff DS for any situation. I think this is where the major disconnect between us lies.

And you keep saying ideas im presenting are bad; im not presenting change ideas, im presenting how this rework would exacerbate all the issues people already have with this perk.

but that other guys idea was kinda stupid?

if you ran killer for 1min does that mean hes not tunneling you? (your DS is 1 health state that you would be lacking during that chase)

ofc with TR thing you could argue you can just follow killers TR so you will have perma DS (yea but youre not doing anything during that, youre living afk)

People's complaint with DS is the 60 second window. Pausing it in the TR means you only need to last 30 seconds in a chase to make it stronger than the current version, it also gives you infinite timer once you're downed.

I mean if you're going to be rude, at least be the one out of the two of us actually talking sense. Lol

People's main issue with DS is the 60 second window. Even if you last just 30 seconds in a chase (less because it's paused as the killer comes back to you and you're hit by the terror radius) you've already brought that window back... anything longer and you've made it more powerful than current version. You've also removed the abiility of the killer to slug you and wait out the DS.

    1. DS isn't meant as anti-tunnel perk, has been discussed 100 times. It simply means you won't get another hook stage in at least 60 seconds.
    2. You know you can just lunge at the person doing the gen and down him right?
    3. What prevents the person with DS from running behind you with a flashlight trying to save his mate with DS active for the rest of the match?

    Really?

    "DECISIVE STRIKE Q&A WITH HORVATH | FEBRUARY 22, 2019

Today we did a Q&A session on discord with Stefan Horvath about the upcoming changes on Decisive Strike.

So here are below the answers given by our Game Designer/Stefan Horvath.

QUESTION: WHAT LED TO THE DECISION TO PUT THE TIMER ON DECISIVE STRIKE?

-------------------------Horvath: We decided to put a timer on Decisive Strike as one of the solutions to Decisive Strike being used too often, we tried 2 minutes internally and found that players were able to use DS a long time after being unhooked, where it no longer serves the purpose to protect you from being tunneled/ farmed----------------------"

  • Tinkerer and Discordance on Freddy is just stupidly easy. After that run Ruin and whatever you want.

  • So basically run the killer for a minute or just hide with iron will in his TR and you've essentially buffed it?

yeah, there was a thread for colorblind support for about 1,5 years, and nothing happend.

The first event i played was a summer event with those soda-machine-gens. They had a different aura i could see pretty well, so even the other color auras were already in the game. but noone cared. I cant see blood, scrachmarks or auras, depending on the map. Sucks.

As for your nerve damage, i use a keyboard-macro to just tap one button to survive (unless some lagspike, which have happened).

Either get a programmable keyboard, or use a macro-recorder software, something like autohotkey? Might help easily.

I really appreciate the help! Unfortunately I play on controller as it's my right arm/hand, which is my dominant arm. So moving a mouse is bad, and trying to switch hands where my left hand is doing the mouse work is just laughable. I'll look into some options, see if I can get something similar to work on controller (tried making the struggle button left bumper on the controller but that seems to only register half the time, go figure).

And as much as some people hate on Last Of Us 2, let's hope it sets a new standard in accessibility in gaming moving forward.

Playing Survivor, getting hooked and watching a member of your team Self caring with Sloppy Butcher or crounching around with Urban Evasion is truly a terrible feeling for me, mine was just a selfish wish :)

I love bond, but seeing how useless other people in solo are pisses me off to the point I have to stop running it, then I forgot why I stopped and run it again, then the frustration. Rinse and repeat.
