Oh wait, I thought that as long as it was slected that you were contributing to the community goal after the personal goal is met?
That does appear to be the case. It seems to add to mine after every game. Currently 40/2.

I play usually from 10am to midday (I play alot more during events lol) and my games are mostly fine
-
They definitely need to make it so you don't need to select the challenge to make it count.

normally you can tell what the killer bring survivors I think are random.
Yeah that was my understanding too

Whereabouts in Oz are you? I'm in Western Australia and we often connect to the SEA server anyway from here. So it hasn't been out of the ordinary for me. Perhaps some slight ping issues but not too bad

you can tell who bought which offering in the in game menu
I think they changed that recently, it's now random apparently
-
I have the Feng and GF from last anniversary but never used them outside of the event so I'll probably skip this year's ones
-
Oh I'd love this. Just practising loops and familiarising myself with tiles would be awesome

I swear these perks on both sides are just getting to be too much.
My only fear of this game ever dying is it being oversaturated and collapsing under the weight of all the perks.
Cote mentioned in an interview recently they can't test all combos before release as there are so many perks.
And they are just going to keep adding 3 per character.
We need a quality of life update and skip a chapter or two even.
I can completely understand this from the devs perspective. But I feel like when there is a synergy that's detrimental to the game they leave it too long, and that's the problem. Like the gen kick meta was left for way too long and, imo, the game hasn't been the same since then. It honestly changed the way the game is played and the expectations players have, particularly for those players who started playing in that time. They entered during an anomaly, not realising that that was not how the game was intended to be played (per the devs own words). Yet it was left for like 9 months, presumably because the devs didn't have the time and resources, and the bandwidth probably, to make adjustments.
But so many players use that era as a sort of baseline for what the game should be like. Gen regression builds weren't the norm before then, for example - you'd see maybe 1, max 2, in a build among other perks. The gen kick era spawned the whole "4 regression perks are necessary" argument, because (again IMO) people view that era as the norm and expect or want the same results.

Highest I got in one prestige was on Cheryl (got 44). But it's still not bad considering if I play well I can get another prestige out of 4-5 cobblers. So it's still a positive overall.

I think your thinking about someone else lol but I might not play on weekends as well cause right now… this is ridiculous lol
Yeah I thought so, there's someone else with a Ghostface profile pic and their username starts with B that's in Australia lol but yeah, events can bring the worst out
Having said that, I've had 2 good games today - a Chucky who 2 hooked before killing, and a Wraith who tried to let everyone go (I refused and made him take a kill lol). So there's some good folks.
-
Honestly, I've barely noticed the negatives because I'm swimming in bp. It seems to make all the difference, even in terrible games lol I've had a couple tunnelling killers (not me but i felt bad for the survivor missing out on bp), and a couple team mates teaming with the killer. Those have probably been the worst games.
-
Bottom floor is strong for survivors but top floor is weak. There are tiles on the top floor that simply removing one pallet creates a deadzone. I had a game on there once where 5 gens spawned on the top floor and only 2 on the bottom and it was hell.
-
If I haven't mistaken you with someone else, you're in Australia yeah? I am too and usually avoid playing on weekends because I find it's all over the place in terms of matchmaking. Being an anniversary it would be even worse.
-
While it's certainly unfun, it's not toxic. Wish people would stop throwing that word around. When I get an escape daily I tend to rush gens. Doesn't mean I'm being toxic. And there's literally a gen challenge in the anniversary tome.
-
Xbox posted this a couple hours ago, so safe to say it's coming very soon
-
Dunno if it helps but Xbox posted this a couple hours ago... hopefully that means you guys get the update soon!
-
On one hand, you need an ebony Mori in play to be able to take advantage of this. So it probably won't come into play often, which is a positive.
But then if there is one in play, does this encourage face camping to encourage the survivor to unhook themselves via anti-camp?

It's almost like everyone predicted this would happen. Objectively, why did Chaos Shuffle work? Because neither side could choose their perks. You had to work with what you got. It didn't work simply because it was an alternate queue to the standard one, it was the random perks that made it work.
Casual and Competitive are, and always will be, two very different audiences with very different ideas of fun.
Chaos Shuffle provided the true Casual vs Competitive distinction. Competitive players were less inclined to play it because they couldnt use perks that, in their perception, would give a competitive advantage. It was more likely to be enjoyed by casuals.
-
Yeah those of us who have played solo queue long term know that there's no correlation between Distortion and useless team mates. Majority of useless team mates I get aren't running Distortion. I find it's mostly killer mains trying to tell us solo survivors that we should want Distortion nerfed to punish the people who use it, but reality is that a Distortion nerf only benefits killers. And they know that. Like, please don't spit on me and tell me it's raining lol thanks. I don't use Distortion but it's a great option to have in the survivor arsenal when it feels like every chapter release gives killers more and more ways to find survivors. Sometimes you're just sick of being found first with Lethal Pursuer for the third game in a row.
-
I haven't had anyone attempt a flashlight or pallet save on me yet but I can't see why they couldn't when the killer is doing the initial pick up. No one is bringing items now anyway I've noticed because of Franklin's + WA. I havent bought an item since the update and I'm seeing max 1-2 items in lobby now. So there's not much sabo'ing or flashlight saving on people's minds anyway
-
Having it recharge in chase defeats the purpose and honestly seems like a way for killers to keep getting value from their aura perks without worrying about them being countered: cant find the survivor with your aura perks, that's okay, they'll have to come to you sooner or later. So you can use your aura perks to find those without Distortion, then either way wait until all tokens are gone to find the Distortion user/s or else just wait for them to throw themselves in front of you.
I don't use Distortion and ultimately don't care if they want to rework it, but this whole 'recharge in chase because it's unfair to your team mates' argument just comes off as kind of manipulative. The person who benefits most from this is the killer. If my team mate needs Distortion to stay in the game then so be it. If they're useless then they'd be useless with or without that perk.

Thank you for providing a fun game and amazing community for us all to come together to celebrate, complain, and commiserate. Thank you for listening (even if there's some folks I wish you wouldn't listen to so much 🤣) and showing that you do care about providing the best experience possible for us all, despite knowing you can't please everyone all the time. Thank you for all the freebies and events/modifiers and frequent updates that you no doubt put your heart, time, and energy into.
And a special thank you to Kenneth from Support for coming through for me during that Alchemy Lab banner run around I received
Happy anniversary 🎉
-
Literally all I've had today is an ever revolving cycle of Doctor, Legion, and Knight, and I've only escaped twice - once through exit gate and once through hatch. They've managed to do absolutely fine.
-
I do sympathise, since I love the anniversary events. But I also get it, because if everyone has been hooked without a chance to get to do anything (and looking at their bloodpoints, they haven't had a chance to do much of anything) then from their perspective the game is probably over. If they stayed then they'd just be there to give you bp while they walk away with little for their time.
-
Maybe you're just in a higher MMR bracket than you should be, considering 4man swfs are a minority so you're likely not facing them every round like you think you are. Rather than ask for the game to be made easier for you so you can compete at a level you probably shouldn't be at, maybe just cop some losses and hope you drop down in MMR enough that you get some opponents more on your level.
-
I have a few survivors I still need to P3 (Jane, Ash, and Yoichi) so I'm working on those. Then just whoever I feel like levelling up some more I guess.

You're playing the wrong mode go back to the menu screen and click the event
No, it was the right one. There were masquerade pallets and survivor was 150% bloodpoint bonus, which I don't think is possible in regular mode. And one time I did get healed but Exposed. I couldn't see any pedestals but I can now after restarting.

if you see them behind objects they shimmer blue through the object.
Yeah haven't found a single one. I'm pretty sure it's bugged for some of us. I havent been getting any effects from others finding them either. Literally nothing happening
I've restarted the game, I'll see if that helps
-
3 games and haven't found a single one. I've wasted so much time running the map. Aside from the bp this is turning out to being no different than regular mode
-
I agree. I can't find any!

It has gotta be exhausting for you guys to sort through hundreds of these bait us vs them threads. I wish we could all take a chill pill and enjoy the game lmao
Seriously though! This playerbase, I swear...
-
Otz is just grabbing onto a hot topic perk (especially now because of Weave Attunement) for view$. Nothing new. This perk was considered mediocre until killers suddenly found themselves with a litany of aura reading perks and of course now it's problematic.

Happy 8th anniversary 💖 looking forward to playing the event in the morning

Thank you! 🙏🏾 Appreciate you guys for helping with my small brain today 🤣
No worries haha this game occupies way too much of my brain so always happy to help 🤣
-
I believe these 4 were the new ones. Someone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong 😊

I think most were badges

I noticed today that of all the streamers I follow (quite alot lol) only the two Fog Whisperers I follow and one or two others were streaming DBD. The rest were playing Killer Klowns, TCM, Valorant, or something scary like Mortuary Assistant or Phasmophobia. I'm assuming they figured people wouldn't be tuning into their streams if they played DBD because they didnt have drops. That or maybe they were disappointed to left out so purposely played something else. But yeah, I wasn't used to seeing so much variety.

@sbravodelrey said:
really:( like even if we turn off cross play and both are on PS5, wouldn’t it match us in the same game possibly?
That's possible. But queue times are notoriously long with cross play off so even if you guys do get a lobby together you might be waiting awhile for a match.
-
Every single survivor game I've played over the last few days has been 3-4k, usually by 3 gens. My only exit gate escape was given to me by a Vecna after i rolled a 20 and got the Eye. He obviously wanted to help me get the achievement (thank you kind stranger). Otherwise I've had a couple hatch escapes. The anniversary event is my favourite time of the year, I've literally been counting down to it, but I hope this isn't an indication of how games will be over the next couple weeks.
-
I actually agree. I like to give the benefit of the doubt and actually experience things myself before making a judgement call. The concept is fine but 12m is actually a very large radius.
-
Make sure everything is still linked. Mine constantly unlinks

I got some pretty decent value out of Resurgence, Overzealous and Iron Will when I had these perks in the Chaos Shuffle modifier. Iron Will value really depends on the Survivor you use, though. I was playing as Cheryl at the time and she's almost completely silent with Iron Will equipped.
Yeah I was fortunate enough to be playing as Cheryl when Chaos Shuffle gave me No Mither and I ended up escaping that game. I had zero issues, just crouched in a bush (Toba's Landing) near whatever gen I was working on and she was silent
-
I got it just playing my games normally but did prioritise gens and totems. The emblem does emphasise actions your team mates take while you are in chase, so if it was an afk killer then perhaps that's where you didn't get enough points.
-
I use Alert alot. I use Overzealous and Fast Track on the odd occasion.
-
What's disappointing is that they're only earnable by watching the DBD official Twitch or Fog Whisperers Twitch, as per their social media post. So not any DBD streamer. And Into The Rainbow starts 1am my time 😑 I'll be asleep so I can't even earn through that
-
The effect follows you I'm pretty sure. So even if they walk away, if you join them on a gen straight after they will get the benefit. That might be why they don't bother to stick around.

They've tried this numerous times to give the 'secondary objective' that people (killers) are clamoring for.
But that alternative can't be beneficial to survivors, we tried that with boons.
It can't involve interacting with the killer, apparently, because bu+ftp, BP+FB, and now sabo.
The only thing that hasn't been complained about in this regard is the invocation, which, even after being buffed, is still a killer perk.
At this point, 'secondary objective' is just code for 'they need more gens'.
Spot on. When killer mains say "secondary objective", they mean something that puts survivors at a disadvantage by wasting their time for little or no value. The devs are, thankfully, smart enough to know that won't work and they need to incentivise survivors to spend their precious seconds elsewhere by dangling the prospect of reward or value for their efforts. That's how survivors will spend less time on their primary objective.
-
From my survivor games - Pain Res is still in pretty much every game. Pop has decreased slightly and Surge has increased slightly. Also seeing a fair bit of Plaything + Pentimento.

Okay this made me laugh
