I'm a solo queue survivor, and have always been. If there's 2 of us left and multiple gens to go then the game is over and I just sit at a gen until the killer finds me. The downside of course is that killers also waste my time in alot of these scenarios too, and will often slug me and then run off to find the hidden last person. So even though I did the "right" thing, I still get punished. So I can 100% understand why some people in that situation feel their best option is try and outlast the other survivor. But OP said it had been 20 mins. I'd rather spend a few minutes bleeding out than 20 minutes hiding. That's crazy excessive.

    Jinxed myself 🤣

  • MMR discussions are pointless. I notice they're usually by folk who assume they are high MMR, at which point I just discount whatever they're about to say. I mean, I'll take them at their word for discussions sake but I don't take them seriously. If there's one thing I'll agree with a content creator on, it's that ego is one of the biggest problems with this playerbase.

What else are they supposed to do if there are 4 gens left? There is no come back mechanic for survivors in the game, so the most optimal strategy for each survivor would be to wait for their teammate to die and then take the hatch/gates. They were playing the most optimal strategies each for the given situation, but I understand this kind of thing might be difficult to understand if you never play soloQ survivor.

  • You thinking Matheiu Cote personally decided to put through flashlight changes after that game is exactly why they'll never do as you ask. It's easy to make up scenarios in your head even if it's not reality.

  • Good call. They waste your time, you waste theirs.

I almost never see Sabo. Once again, an overraction of the Forum.

I only saw a failed Sabo-Attempt against me and a successful when playing Survivor (even tho the Survivor doing Sabo could have just saved me with a Pallet).

But I guess I am the exception and you all go against Sabo-Squads 24/7.

That's my experience too. Lost a game because of a failed sabo attempt by a team mate. It basically snowballed after that.

  • Check basement and the small double story shack. That's usually where they hide on that map if memory serves me right.

  • Yeah there's a number of complaints about this happening. Definitely not just you

  • I'm not bringing items lately and haven't seen many killers with these perks equipped post-game. The couple of times I have seen it in play is when the whole lobby has items. When there's less than 4 items it doesn't seem to have as much play, for obvious reasons I guess. To add, I've noticed team mates dropping medkits at the start of the game and going back to them when they need it. I've also noticed an increase in team mates bringing Strength in Shadows and Plunderers. I guess the latter have also noticed if they don't bring items at the start then the killer probably won't bring the perks.

  • It can be easy to get turned around on maps and forget where you've hooked someone. If the killer hasn't found someone before the hooked survivor gets unhooked, then they have a point of reference where two survivors are.

@Nazzzak I haven’t even heard back from support and it’s been 3 days. Very unimpressed with how all of this has been handled.

Yeah I'm completely unimpressed with my experience too, don't worry. I buy auric cells every week but have decided I'm not spending a single cent on this game until I get a proper response from someone. I'm pretty stubborn too..

  • Maths isn't my thing but would it work better with something like Deadline?

  • In the lead up to rank reset it tends to get a bit sweaty, that's normal.

  • It's a bad map for everyone. It's rare that I have had a game on there where someone hasn't lost a hook state downstairs because people can't get to them on time. When you use the portals it's alot easier but I feel like a lot of casual players haven't clued in yet on the portals because they're not using them to go between floors…

hens had some people walk him through the process on his other channel

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUjVAejJN4c

(edit cause smh the wrong link got in)

Ngl, this looks so boring lol the only issue I can see is the people who accidentally stumble into this and get bled out just because they weren't aware. That would suck.

  • Do you get upset when they buff killers? I mean, as a survivor main maybe I don't like spending money on this game to repeatedly watch my escape rate drop as more and more killers get buffed. But they do. If you'll happily accept the buffs that BHVR dole out but not any nerfs then your concerns are only around your own competitive advantage and not actual balancing issues that are necessary for the game to thrive.

  • It's a game, it's not that deep. I think you're taking things a bit too personally. People memeing around don't usually care if they die. I actually think they expect to. So sounds like a win win for everyone.

  • What did they do that was bullying? Sounds like they were trying to protect each other? These player rulebooks are getting confusing

If you have not received the code, and you are sure you are signed up in time, and have ticked all the right boxes (that's important), then please contact our Player Support who will check eligibility for you and grant a code if you should have received one.

What can I do if I've done all that and Support have confirmed I'm on the mailing list but still won't give me a code? I've just been told they're investigating and it could take them awhile

  • I use Alert and Empathy alot and it comes in handy on the new map for this reason - I'll know to stay on my gen because the killer is on the top or bottom floor

  • There were people who thought he was OP? Most people seemed to agree he was strong against inexperienced players (as they generally don't look behind them and as such can't shake off weakness as well or dodge the power), but average against experienced players. I havent seen anyone change their mind on that.

Those are "stats" provided by BHVR in an attempt to calm down the community and prove that the game is balanced. Not a single evidence of those 43% escape rate has been provided since. In my killer games I wipe the floor with soloQ survivors and can only hope for 2 kills against SWFs, producing a few gallons of sweat in the process, but usually it's just 1k, and it correlates with experience of other killer players. Wherever they pulled that 43% escape rate from, it's nowhere near what can be observed in praxis, so until someone actually gathers stats with evidence instead of just drawing pictures with numbers, it's pointless to talk about "stats", especially about those provided by BHVR.

How do you know you're playing against a swf though? Have you considered that once you sweep the floor with enough players (and I doubt it's just solo, you can't see if they're solo afterall) you rise higher in MMR and therefore start to face more difficult opponents which makes it harder to win? That is, after all, how the game is designed. It's not designed for you to 4k every single game, and you will get harder opponents the more you win. Now you want BHVR to nerf your stronger opponents so you can compete at a level you're not up to? That doesn't make sense

And you refuse to accept BHVRs stats, yet expect your own experience to hold more weight despite just assuming you are facing swfs?

Sorry that you are having trouble hopefully they send you the code! I told them that I had not received the banner and my email tied to the newsletter they sent a code to me

I'll see tonight. I was going to leave it but after seeing others getting codes just by hitting up Support, I politely replied to their last message just letting them know I was disappointed by my experience with them. I made sure to mention that I'm seeing other players claim they're getting codes from Support and if they can please clarify for me exactly why I apparently don't qualify for one.

  • @Clinton said:

They finally got back to me this afternoon and gave me a code for the banner. I honestly can't believe it.. I simply stated that I did not receive the alchemy lab banner and have been subscribed to the newsletter for quite a few years. They went over my account and email and apparently everything checked out

I really hope you guys get your banner and your complaints resolved.. If you have any questions just ask I want to try and get you guys your banners too!

They confirmed to me that my email was on the mailing list yet still wouldn't send me a code

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

I have now contacted support, and they have gotten back to me and sent me a code through there!

I also included my player profile ID and my relevant email adresses in my ticket. I dunno if that helped at all, but I have now gotten it!

Are you serious?? I've spent 3 days and several back and forth emails with them only to get nothing but they'll investigate and it could take awhile.

I've spent so much money in this game and they can't even send me a free banner

I'll add that they even confirmed that one of my email addresses was on the mailing list, yet still wouldn't sent me a code. And funnily enough, the email they said wasn't on the list is the one I've been getting dbd emails sent to for the past few months (I even screenshotted proof). This honestly feels like a bit of a slap in the face.

  • After several back and forth emails with Support, this is the final response I got. I agree, just give a universal code at this point lol I actually feel bad that they're apparently having to investigate a free banner on my behalf and it could take awhile

Oh god I haven't got an email yet but if that's how they are gonna handle things I won't bother. Your email system is totally bugged but lets interrogate the person who didn't get an email due to a bug

Don't get me wrong, they've been perfectly professional, but yeah it's been a bit more of a time investment than I feel it's needed to be for both myself and the Support person. If I wasn't so keen on collecting banners I'd just give up lol I'm still waiting on their reply to my last email so hopefully that's it

  • Depends who you get I guess. My past experiences with Support have been quick and easy, no issues.

Thank you very much friend! Ill try to contact them. I want that banner 🔥🐽🔥

Let me know how you go. The Support person I've managed to get really doesn't seem to want to give me the banner lol

  • I sent Support a message a few days ago and have back and forth'd a few replies with the support person, and I'm honestly kind of disappointed in how hard it's proving to be able to obtain a free banner... I thought I'd just message Support once and they'd be like 'oh sorry, here you go' but they really don't seem to want to give it to me lol it's not my fault I didn't get the email

  • Not yet. I've faced several and they've all 4k'd

  • Yeah I saw this earlier in a group. Unfortunately I don't have Twitter so I'll miss out

I want either lights out or chaos shuffle to always be available.

Mathieu Cote said in an interview that most people dropped Lights Out pretty fast, to his surprise, and went back to normal mode. So I doubt we'll get that back. Chaos Shuffle i have no doubt will be back again.

  • Not a fan, but the experience is a lot better since they updated his bottle effect. It always gave me a headache.

  • "sometimes it’s bad for killer because you can get lost and stuck and have no idea where to go"

Except this is the same for survivors as well. We are all getting lost down there. No one knows the layout. Also I died in the basement down there because no one could get to me in time from the top floor. I also went to second hook in another game because, again, my team mates couldn't find their way to me fast enough. I've had another team mate go to second hook in a different game as well. So no, I don't think it's survivor sided at all. I think it's a difficult map for everyone to navigate.

  • Try resetting your controller. One of mine was doing similar yet my hubby had no issues with it on Fortnight funnily enough. Resetting it worked (for now)

  • Funnily enough, I've actually never paid attention to the achievements lol every time one pops up I'm like oh sweet, but I've never looked at them or tried to achieve them. I probably should. It'd give me something else to do

  • I actually do agree it's quite strong. I remember the outroar to Wire Tap giving aura reads at loops but that's easily countered by kicking the gen and is on a timer too. It still got nerfed with a longer activation requirement.

If you get hit with Franklin's then assume this perk is in play too and first chance you get cop the Obliviousness and take that item to a corner. Or take a perk that gives you the item you want or what you want to achieve - killers won't bring Franklin's or WA if none of the survivors have items in hand.

  • I love when weird stuff happens and killer and survivor are united in their confusion

Otz is considering leave the fog whispers because of this, we are just people consuming the game and we dont live on a mistic space where everything is lovely and beautiful and BHVR loves all of us. Again, every industry and corporation make this everywhere, everytime. If people will boycott every company made that, people will be live in the vaccum

Otz has said a few of his friends lost their jobs, which is why he is upset. I think it's perfectly normal to feel upset on behalf of your friends.

Killers get nerfed no matter what: See also the unnecessary Pop, PainRes, Deadlock and Grim Embrace nerfs which BHVR gave extremely poor reasons to justify it.

Those are perk nerfs. I'm talking basekit killer nerfs. They increased killrates through basekit survivor nerfs two years ago, so if they had to decrease them it'd be via survivor buffs or killer nerfs.

I can confirm Peanits is “safe”, as he puts it himself.

Rizzo is a moderator. I believe they are volunteers, and as such wouldn’t have been at risk in the same way other people are. Might be wrong there, though.

Cheers for that. I wasn't 100% sure on the mods either. Glad Peanits is safe.

People have no idea how much money goes into managing a business, especially one that hosts a live service game with a lot of players. They also don't take into consideration the consequence of not doing layoffs like this and how it could be much worse in the long run. I highly doubt this is something they wanted to do. Its more reasonable to assume its something they needed to do rather than wanted to. I think its more wrong to assume companies should be obligated to employee someone forever than it is to let them go. A job is no more an entitlement than the existence of the company offering it.

No one is saying any of that. Ill bet you wouldn't feel good if you were let go from your job and a bunch of people online were brushing it off, especially the very people you worked your behind off to please every day. It's called having empathy. Mandy has confirmed she is still employed, thankfully, but what about Peanits or Rizzo? We have no idea if they've come out unscathed and as valued members of the community I doubt they'd like to see "oh well, it happens, you're not entitled to your job" remarks. They'd understand more than any of us exactly why this has happened, they don't need it repeated ad nauseam.

  • I don't mind carrying team mates sometimes, because there's definitely games that I feel I shouldn't be in where team mates have to carry me. So I can't complain too much about that. But the game should recognize and make it worth your while. Like an XP bonus or something. We already get emblem points for the length of time we remain in a trial, so surely it can't be hard to detect if someone spent most of that time in chase. Any team mate of mine who runs the killer all game will always get unhooked and helped to escape, even if I have to sacrifice myself.

  • Can't be that bad a nerf, I'm still going against Pain Res and Pop every game today. 7 games today and the killer has 4k'd in 6. I've seen bugger all toolboxes or gen progression perks outside of Deja Vu. Also, killers who want to tunnel will do so and those who have never had to likely won't start. So I doubt there's much difference on that front. Pretty much every update we see "now that you've done (insert change), we are gonna do (insert threat)" and I never see it in my games. They carry on same as always.

  • I've only had it once :( I want to explore it some more

  • Yeah it definitely got overnerfed. I think Off The Record is probably the superior choice for injured noise suppression now.

I don't understand how BHVR said that this doesn't affect the development of Dead By Daylight, but a lot of DBD devs on X are saying they've been laid off. Mainly community devs but i've also seen one game designer be laid off.

    https://x.com/DEATHDORKS/status/1798053537768992786

"So, expect things to slow down. It's... going to be hard to try to maintain the same amount of work we were doing before this happened."

This is from the community manager we've seen in the past few livestreams. (Not been laid off)

I'm a little concerned for the future of the game. Which is a shame because the anniversary stream made me feel the opposite.

I panicked for a second seeing you link to Dork. I'm glad she's staying with us, she must be protected at all costs.

This is very sad news, and I'm sorry to all the devs who have been told they no longer have a place on the team. I appreciate all the love and hardwork they've put into DBD for our enjoyment. They've helped build the game to what it is today and the powers that be should be thanking them, not letting them go.

  • I have no doubt it'll be a regular thing every now and then. It seemed to be really popular. I loved it and even got to the point where sometimes I'd have completed a gen before realising I hadn't even looked at what perks I got lol I feel like it was good for natural skill growth

  • I suspect the swamp update was held until last because of their upcoming Project T game, which is set in the Backwater swamp. It'll probably look the same in both games so they'll release the update when Project T releases. That's my theory anyway. But re Blight, it's possible of course.
