They chose to ignore feedback about how terrible updated Haddonfield is, so not sure why people are surprised
-
Didn't even get a single email sigh
-
I think the only thing that speaks to the devs on this front are the stats. If he's underperforming then he'll likely get some buffs, and if he's overperforming then some nerfs.
-
Yeah the DLC exclusive cosmetics don't come with the characters you buy in game with auric cells.

How about rather than buffing solo queue, SWFs get nerfed instead.
That would just drop the killrates and lead to killer nerfs
-
I'm a solo survivor, been playing for about 3.5 years now. I do think it's in a rough spot, and it honestly feels like the devs go back and forth between appeasing swfs and killers and we kind of get left behind. But I don't think we need buffs, just some sort of love and quality of life improvements.
I think the best place to start would be SBMM because I do think that is the crux of the problem. 9 out of 10 times I feel like it's my team mates who have ruined the game for me with ridiculously bad decision making. I don't want perfect team mates because that's impossible and I make mistakes too. But it honestly never felt this bad a couple years ago.
I do still enjoy the game obviously or else I'd have left by now. But it sucks feeling overlooked.
-
It's hard hey. I love the idea of getting 2 survivors for the price of 1 and being able to mix n match. Making one a Legendary would suck because they're more expensive, and if they made the male separate they'd have to create additional perks too. But on the flip side, it doesn't make much sense giving an elf a human frame. I guess the devs felt it was the best compromise? I'm not overly bothered by it, I'll still play Aestri
-
I haven't used it and have no plans to, but at face value I'd say it went from trash to good. I still think being Broken for the rest of the game is a huge downside. If the Broken status was on a timer then I'd say it would be decent. But having played so nuch Chaos Shuffle and seeing killers make a beeline for the No Mither players, I don't think it's worth putting a target on my back. Especially if you play solo queue and get team mates who are allergic to gens and just hiding, I'd be putting myself at a disadvantage for no reason
-
I hate the wait too but it's necessary
-
Just a reminder that the perk/meta overhauls started in update 6.1 with survivor perks being nerfed into the ground because killers were complaining about facing the same perks every game. I'm not sure why so many are still surprised when the same occurs to them.
-
I don't think they can ever balance maps for the entire killer roster. Spread out gens are hard for M1 killers, while close gens are too easy for high mobility killers. Too much clutter is bad for ranged killers, while necessary for stealth killers. Take advantage of map offerings like scratched mirror Myers players do.
-
Walking Dead is my guess too. Hopefully Rick and Michonne, though Darryl is a real possibility too
-
I think around 10 min is fine, up to 15 min max. As someone else mentioned, for survivors who want to *win* shorter matches are in their favour. The game starts strong for survivors - unused items in chests, all pallets up and available, several gens for the killer to waste time patrolling, etc. As the game progresses it steadily gets stronger for the killer as pallets are dropped/broken and deadzones are formed, there are less gens for the killer to patrol and less survivors likely to be on a gen (you've presumably got one in chase, perhaps one on a hook, one going for the unhook and heal, etc etc, so gens naturally slow down as pressure is applied), medkits used up so more survivors are now injured, loud, easier to down.
So yeah, you'd absolutely find people who are not keen on longer games.
-
I'm a big SH fan too and really looking forward to it. BHVR seem to be on good terms with Konami so I can't see why not. An Angela skin would be great and I can see an Eddie one too.
-
I will, for Bardic Inspiration. I want to spread musical cheer.

Yeah they need to be changed again. Or at least do something. The 10-second gen nerf didn't do a thing because it got more than counteracted by nerfing ALL gen defence. Add in survivors getting more efficient, because they have to or else they'll be trapped in MMR hell (garbage teammates vs decent killer), and you've got drastically increased, not decreased, overall gen speed. On top of nerfing killers, on top of a gen regression limit, on top of leaving in broken loops, on top of... You get the point. I don't know how people are complaining about slow gens at this point, and aren't blaming their teammates but blame "killah OP!" They're so easy to finish within minutes. And gen defence doesn't even help anymore, except against mid or lower teams. They're useless vs the top because you're likely to get no more than 4 hooks before all gens are done, and even less if you're really spreading your hooks. But the point is gen time vs chase time is too fast, dude. It doesn't take a genius to do the math.
How didn't the 10s nerf do anything? We got a dev update 2 months after that nerf to show BHVR were successful at obtaining the 60% killrate they were aiming for with that update. They literally showed us it was successful.
-
Yeah I've noticed this too. I've just accepted my experience will be inferior to those on PC. I can hug most obstacles just fine but when watching PC players they can usually get an extra loop more out of a tile or object than I can.

well, Susie got confirmed to be attracted to women in the comics I think.
Also there are licensed characters that are LGBTQ+, Sadako, Chatterer, I guess the Crypt TV legendary chars
Yes, I'd forgotten about the comics, thanks!

Yeah, vast majority of my matches have been chill. I didn't have to glue myself to a gen and try make sure I finished it before it gets hit by Pain Res or Pop and I have to do it all over again. I didn't really escape any more than usual, I assume because the lack of Exhaustion and endurance perks probably cut chases down enough to even it all out.
-
Yeah definitely. I'm confident it will come back though thanks to its popularity.

I enjoyed the last round, looking forward to seeing the results this time 😁

I don't understand why people think killer needs to be buffed anyway. Killers already dominate pub matches. We're also in the middle of an epidemic where people are giving up in every other match. Is buffing killers REALLY the way to go considering the current state of the game?
Yeah I dont get it either. As a solo survivor most of my games are a wash, yet despite spending way too much time on this forum I'm not here constantly wanting survivor buffs or killer nerfs. I accept that I'm an average player. Yet I see the same familiar usernames consistently calling to make the game harder for survivors just because they (rightfully) got beat out by a better player, or just had a bad game in general (it happens, especially with how easy matchmaking is to bypass). People need to accept their own limitations instead of consistently making them everyone else's problem. Sorry for the rant, just kind of over it.

Dwight and Wraith
-
That looks so cute.
-
It's very rare that I'll have someone DC in my games, even against SM. Every time penalties have been taken off in the past though there is a definite uptick in people freely DCing, so I personally think penalties should stay.

otz said this will be an S-tier perk.
I remember when Tru3 had his viewers up in arms over Blood Rush of all perks. I love watching content creators stream but I definitely take alot of what they say with a healthy dose of skeptism lol most of the time I'm pretty sure they do it just to make a clickbait video
-
Probably 7 or 8 games out of 10, all the gens don't even get done in my games. Increase them further and I may as well not even play tbh.
-
Someone got your passwords and got you banned from DBD? What did they do?
-
Happy pride month! I guess that would be David? Is he the only one confirmed? I'll be playing him more this month anyway
-
Yeah I only played Gabriel yesterday because of that hoody lol

Most killers have a terror radius of about 32m. Unless you are standing around being useless to your team, you're likely to hear them coming before you spot them with this perk. The only benefit lies in knowing where they are coming from, though by the time you've stood still long enough they'd be close enough that you probably would have benefited from running early anyway. Other perks, like Alert and Fogwise, are better in that regard anyway imo

I mean when he is bleeding you out anyway he might as well troll around a bit... I don't see that different than just standing there doing nothing until you bleed out.
My killer didn't have Knock Out and wasn't slugging the whole game. Once the other two survivors had died on hook, me and the Dwight for some reason got treated like that when he could have just hooked us. Most killers I've gone against with Knock Out will still come back and try hook once they've downed everyone. Slugging doesn't always mean their intent is to bleed you out.
-
Slugging with Knock Out actually doesn't bother me. Because it tells me straight up what their strategy is (slugging) and I can try adjust my gameplay. It's harder in solo admittedly, but if the rest of my team are getting gen progress or are in good in chase, I don't mind being the designated pick up person until I go down. To me it's no different to a survivor bringing a sabo build or BGP/FB to focus on hook denial for instance. Some people go into a game with a plan of attack and you just gotta adapt. I had an Unknown earlier who slugged a Dwight and I and then proceeded to just hump our bodies until we bled out. That's not strategy, that's just trolling. Intent matters.

Let's assume the best case scenario, you're using both perks, killer isn't in chase, is rotating somewhere and you let go of the gen for 4 seconds to find out and call it out to the SWF buddies.
You have a 40 meter radius around you for aura reads, most killers have a 32 meter terror radius. You get 8 meters of advance warning that the killer is coming to your generator (they're not in chase so they will be patrolling gens). People without the perks can deduct the same information based purely on the terror radius.
What you do get admittedly is the direction the killer is approaching from since you see their aura and not just hear the terror radius. Unfortunately you could already get that info through callouts from teammates that were in chase with the killer last. If you really like the more precise information of the aura read, you can just run Fogwise, 1 perk slot, you're pretty likely to get a skill check while the killer is doing their rotation between chases, and it's map wide, no range requirements.
It is, ultimately, just an info perk that cannot be used in chase. Fogwise is simply a better perk all around as it doesn't kick you off your objective and isn't range dependent. We don't see it widely used because the killer's location is already mostly revealed through comms and callouts (if the SWF can even do callouts, this perk doesn't show your teammates the aura you see so the SWF still has to know how to callout). Just like Fogwise or Alert, it will be a comfort perk for solitary usage to occasionally read the killer's location, but worse since you're forced off of objectives.Re the direction the killer is coming, Alert is superior imo to Fogwise. When killers are doing gen rotations they'll usually stop to kick them, which is when Alert kicks in for 6 seconds. You see which direction the killer is going in after theyve kicked, so you'll know long before this perk or the terror radius even kicks in that the killer is coming to your gen. It's also map wide.

@The_Krapper said:
The being still requirement will make this perk not very good , you can't use it in chase, it doesn't show silent killers, the only real upside is you do nothing for it to activate, this perk may come in good for solo simply because if someone is running the killer near you you'll know if they're coming your direction, but then you could've ran bond and known that anyway without stopping what you were doing, I think it's gonna be another throw away survivor perk that people attempt to try and make good unsuccessfully,
I run Empathy and a big upside is knowing where the killer is based on where the injured person is running lol it'll definitely be another throwaway. This is the standard knee-jerk reaction I've come to expect in every chapter though. A game where every second matters and I'm to believe my team mates will spend theirs standing still lol best time it'll come in handy is at the start of the game when you're loading in and have no choice but to stand still
-
It always did that though. Why have they put it in the change section... unless they've changed the timer maybe.
-
Requires you to be useless to use though. I'll stick with Alert if i want to know where the killer is. Not worth being one man down for something I can see with my own eyes and when I can hear the terror radius.

Yet a great deal of players were begging for a different game, but any game that offered something different never lasted. There was definitely some really good contenders, yet they just disappeared
A different game doesn't mean people won't find issues or become bored etc etc. Plus there are different reasons why each failed - depending on who you ask of course. F13 for example got caught up in legal woes and died, and the developers have just released Killer Klowns from Outer Space adapting the same formula of F13. The Evil Dead playerbase pretty much unanimously agree the devs abandoned the game with no planned updates. Home Sweet Home was pretty unanimously agreed upon to be a very one sided beat up. VHS was a failure thanks to the devs mistakes - there's plenty of videos online that go into it, Dowsey has a particularly good one that sums it up well.
TCM is arguably the best contender to date but it has had a massive drop in players and I would say it's mostly a monotony factor. Having played TCM myself and spent some time in the community, I'll say it's playerbase has this weird expectation of TCM offering something new and different, while simultaneously comparing it to DBD when questioning what it's doing wrong. I'd argue that it's necessary to use voice chat in TCM if you're 100% focused on winning, yet most of their playerbase don't seem to use it (which I get, but that's the primary tool the game has given them). Instead it's a constant 'them vs us', even worse than I see among the DBD community.
I also think the constant cries of "this game is finally gonna kill DBD!" everytime a new asymm game is released doesn't help. A playerbase united on mutual hatred of another game rather than the merits of the new game doesn't bode well.
-
I think you answered that question for yourself: "Once it got Halloween as a chapter, there was no stopping them". Being the basis from which anything can be brought in and adapted makes it appeal to a wide range of fan bases. Most of the other similar games are kind of restricted and it can get old. Last week I had a day where my games were literally Wesker, Wraith, Wesker, Wraith, etc, and it got old fast. I think games need to be able to keep you mentally engaged. The frequent updates help and DBD is in a position to constantly bring new content with few limitations.

Wheres the strawman? Not to mention none of yall even argued my actual point you just started defending Vecna to the core and ignored the actual point of the post. And im not ignoring it I'm just saying theres no horror theme to Vecna which there isn't. If hes horror does that mean when I play Skyrim and play as a necromancer Im playing a horror game now?
Lol no, a necromancer in a game does not automatically make it a horror game. But you can adapt necromancy into a horror medium and it fit just fine - Evil Dead for example.

Vecna isnt even fantasy horror hes a wizard who casts funny spells lol. And what genre of horror is rainbow six siege again I forgot
He was a necromancer and is an undead wizard. So yeah, I'd argue he falls under fantasy horror. And R6 was a cosmetic collab. If we hold cosmetics up as an example then this game has never been horror because we've had non-horror related cosmetics since the game began. We get Christmas cosmetics lol
-
Since when are they shifting away from horror? There are different forms of horror, and I'm assuming you're referring to Vecna/DnD? There are comedic horrors, and fantasy horrors (there is a horror hitting cinemas soon based on fairies) and all different kinds of genres within horror. Slashers, jumpscares, gore, dark comedies... anything can be adapted to horror.

If you haven't played in a number of years then yeah, you will likely struggle abit until you find your footing

You can do both but the pick up one has to be timed correctly as to where the other way doesn't but it's extremely easy to avoid unless you do it in situations where they round a corner to hook someone and it just explodes in their face, anyone who sees and hears a flashbang drop while carrying a survivor will almost always avoid it unless they just dont know better from inexperience , but OP is referring to BP and flashbang being bugged to allow clipping inside the body I believe
Thanks! I've yet to have an opportunity to reach the killer when they're just picking up (I don't use BP) but I've never been able to pull it off while they're carrying so was thinking it wasn't possible

Slim pickins for posts these days. This new consultation thingy changes quite literally nothing so imo there's no need for me to feel strongly opinionated.
right now there's not much to say about it.
It's not new, it's apparently been around for years. Dowsey said he used to be a consultant. People wondering who has been a part of it and what, exactly, it's influence has been on the game isn't surprising. At least imo.
-
How do you even get a Flashbang save? I miss every time I try. Can you do it when they're carrying survivors or just when they pick up? I'm my own counter to fb saves at this point lol
-
It can be new user unfriendly. I feel like there should be a tab in the killer menu next to each killer with a brief tutorial. It doesn't have to be a video or gameplay, but even just photos with a run down on what to do. I think people forget how overwhelming it can be for survivors just starting out - there's currently over 30 killers to learn to play against.
As for people being nasty, unfortunately that's an internet wide issue. People feel brave when sitting behind a screen in the safety of their home. I'd avoid endgame chat and keep your profile private. Twitter... is a cesspool tbh. This forum though I find is fine, but maybe I'm bias lol

It is most definitely a PC thing. I would love to see a console survivor capable of pulling this maneuver off.
There's a streamer I watch who plays on PC with a controller and she can do the spins. Not as perfectly as PC players obviously, but when she pulls it off its close enough!

Kinda tosses Fog Whisperers' under the bus, many of them were under the impression the feedback secion in their section of the discord was being looked at and listened to. Especially people like Otz who has put countless hours of his time (along with others) into trying to make the game a healthier spot, even to the detriment of his health at times. What's the point of having these sections when clearly they're being ignored in favour of these consultants? What is the key factor determining your decision making on character profiling? The factors listed are very vague and from what i'm seeing this is a cop out to avoid employing full time staff on a good wage to contribute more meaningfully. There are plenty of qualified people out there who fit these areas listed, and yet they've been hidden from the community instead of being more open as you where in the past, when the game originally was developed.
On the flipside, Otz has spoken before about how much he hates that he gets the blame for perk nerfs like Scavenger and STBFL. I actually think the people who have put their hands up and said they are a consultant will come to regret it. I think it's great we know about the program but I think Hens, Tofu, Lilith, and anyone else who has said they're a part of it will eventually wish they hadn't.
-
I guess they haven't included the FWs for the reason that you said:
"They have been put in an unenviable position to appear partly responsible for terribly thought-out changes like the Twins rework and trying to be a good public face for BHVR"
The devs clearing the air around these consults is good for FWs because it takes public pressure away from them. At the same time, this consultation program appears to be a paid position and, like with any job, lots of people simply aren't qualified for the position. I'll clarify that i do understand their grievances - having devs reach out to you and invite you to be part of a small group of people they trust to represent the company would feel amazing. To find out there's an even more exclusive group that are more than just a pretty face for the company would be disheartening. So I get it. But I can see why they kept the FWs separate.
