I wish default they'd separate these. By time players realize they can change the button layout they don't want to because they're used to it being same one.
This is the situation I'm in. I know I can change it but it's gonna mess me up for a bit because I'm so used to it. I usually just wave people towards me and away from pallet, they seem to understand

The Program IS good. And it benefits the Devs and also the players. Because there are some solid people in the program (from what we know).
What might be problematic is making it public, since it might draw negative attention to people who are in it. Sure, everyone can decide for themselves if they want to be open about it, but I have already seen some communities from Streamers questioning why some people are in the program and why their favorite streamer is not in the program.
I suspect they felt they didn't have a choice making it public, since there's been alot of pressure lately (notably from content creators) to use them as consults. I guess this was them saying they do in fact have consults.

We can only hope that some of the consultants have pushed back on the idea. This is the first change for the game since I started playing last year that I can't get behind at all. Unless BHVR have feedback from the wider player base that shows most players hate them or something, it seems like an unwelcome out of the blue change to me.
I think it's good that a program like this exists, though. I just hope they have a broad range of voices from all skill levels and they're not only gathering input from streamers and content creators. They tend to be very skilled players and quite often don't see the game in the same way that the rest of us do. They can have totally different play styles to a large portion of the player base (for example, totally abandoning stealth which is still a very viable strategy for a lot of players).
Yeah same, it's the one feature I'm not looking forward to.
It looks like this program has been around for awhile anyway, so I'm hopeful they've gathered a variety of voices in that time. Chances are good since the player base can't seem to decide if the devs are killer or survivor sided on a regular basis 😂 hopefully it's the same on the skilled side of the aisle. As a pretty average player, I'll never be able to compete at high levels and don't aspire to. But I'd like to continue enjoying the game as much as the more skilled folk do.
It's also just occurred to me that this program is likely the source of leaks over the years, which is disappointing. Imagine being given an opportunity like that and breaking trust.

I haven't seen an update. Mine went through okay, where are yours stuck at?

From my experience, people don't have a reason to give up
"Oh i don't liek this killer, im gonna go suicide and go next"
It happens like 90% of the match i play with skull merchant, but it also happens with weak ass killers like nemesis
I got people giving up on legion…
Too many crybabies nowadays
I'm talking about my own experience. It's what I see in my games.
-
9 times out of 10 I just let them go. The only time I'll unhook is if they've messed around the whole game and then tried to opt out. Sorry dude, you can suffer with the rest of us 🤣 but most people let go because the game is either a loss and they just wanna move on, or they're being tunnelled or camped or something. I'm not gonna force them to stay. It's a game at the end of the day. I've forgotten about them by the time my next game rolls around.
-
I do wish the consultants had told them to dump the Finisher Mori though 🫣
-
I'd consider gen rushers to be people who come equipped with full gen progression builds and toolboxes. If their intent is literally to smash out gens as fast as possible, then they're a gen rusher. I rarely see these folks though. I agree that it's just another strategy.

I think making all this public was a really bad move on the devs part. I watched spookyloopz VOD about him leaving the FW program and I agree with him. Making this public only makes the Fog Whisper program look like the lesser of the two and as someone else said on this thread, you know have ppl asking the question "Why is X in this? Why isn't Y in this program? Where is my favorite content creator?" etc. Im glad they have ppl who actually play the game to test things but making this public was a dumb move imo. No one really needs to know who is or isnt on this team. Like I didnt need to know Hens was on a playtesting team, that doesn't change anything imo.
It kind of makes sense now, with some recent Fog Whisperers leaving and popular streamers quitting the game. I wonder if they found out about the program and felt left out?
I don't mind such a program existing, but I just hope the people involved are a mix of killer and survivor players, are unbiased, and are putting the playerbase ahead of their own monetary (ie content) desires.

In my experience, farming isn't like it used to be. I remember when I started playing, bringing BPS had the good possibility of a farming match. But it's changed since then. I'm personally not a fan of farming but I'll admit I do miss then sometimes lol
-
I doubt people will say it was never a horror game, because clearly it is. But there's also different types of horror. A fantasy horror chapter fits fine, imo.
-
I believe it's a you waste my time, I'll waste yours thing (at least some of the time)
-
My games have been fine. There's the odd exception but overall everyone's been quite chill. I have noticed more proxy camping than I usually see, but the killers go for the unhooker. I think alot of people rely on info perks to find survivors, so they may have trouble tracking the old fashioned way and that's why proxy camping is popular. Not a judgement btw, purely an observation.
-
Wait is this for real?? I always go fold some clothes or something when I get left to bleed out... now I'm gonna be punished for something outside of my control? BHVR?

Try your best? It's what all of us have to do in matches against difficult opponents

As a Pig Main, I am confused how a survivor would even do what you suggest, especially at the frequency for you to make a post here about it. Is there any way you can record your matches and show us exactly what you mean next time it happens? Cause… really, I am genuinely confused how survivors can even do this on a map like Dead Dog Saloon especially.
This. OP, could you record what you mean? I've heard of survivors stalling with like the Badham maps but Dead Dawg? That's news to me

- I've learned that I'm a "decent" player even without perks. I thought without my "comfort perks" I would have difficult games, but (fortunately) that wasn't the case. In fact, when I have "useful" perks in "chaos shuffle" I feel almost unbeatable🤣
- Specifically on perks, I learned that "Overcome" and "Remember me" are very underrated perks. These two perks have some """flaws""" and would both need some adjustments, but when they work well they are very strong
Overcome has been my Exhaustion perk of choice since it first came out. I still see people call it bad and don't know why. It comes in clutch so often
-
Can't say I've noticed I'm escaping more personally, but I have noticed an increased in games ending in a draw. I'm seeing more 2ks than 3 or 4ks. But the killers in said games also haven't been playing aggressively. I've seen some people say they're seeing lots of tunnelling and camping. In my games though, I haven't seen tunnelling but have seen an increase in proxy camping whereby the killer then goes after the unhooker. There'd be more 3 and 4ks if they went after the unhooked but they dont seem to care about that. It's almost like most killers I'm seeing are just playing casually and don't care to chase the 4k. There have been exceptions of course but just in general.

I can already imagine one of his perks.
'Elixir' - a special concoction that upon drinking will allow you to recover from the dying state to full health and increases gen repair speed by 8/9/10% for the next 60 seconds
-
I played against 2 yesterday. One played normally (and got a 4k), and no one DCd or let go on hook. The second one though played really unpleasantly, and I had two team mates DC. Eventually it was me and a bot and I got left slugged so the killer could find the bot. Players who punish those who actually opted to stick around and try suck tbh. I think the issue with her is that because she's so easy to play (her drones do all the work) she can attract trolls and just unpleasant people in general. There are normal SMs scattered in there but the bad apples still sour the bunch.
-
Definitely check cross play isn't off. That is way too long. I'm on ps5 and wait max 30 seconds.
-
The difference is the unknown perks. If they had a ranked and casual mode, then the meta build sweats would cross into casual just to steamroll. This is obvious by the way self-identified sweaty "high MMR" players constantly complain about their likewise sweaty opponents. They love the idea of being in higher ranks, but they hate going against people in higher ranks. They wouldn't stay in their lane. Those competitive folk are less likely to queue up for Chaos Shuffle because they can't guarantee they'll get the perks they feel they need to remain in top ranks.

I don't understand why it needs to go away at all. There are obviously enough players for multiple game modes. I would literally never play normal mode again if it became permanent. Not having to go against high tier killers with four slowdowns every match is the most fun i've had in a long time. Nearly every game I have is actually competitive and it feels great. It really shows how hard perks carry a lot of people.
Same. I'll be in Chaos mode forever if it sticks around. It's literally breathed new life into the game for me. People have been asking for ranked vs unranked mode for so long, and I've honestly been against it because I know what this playerbase is like and plenty of competitive players with meta perks would play unranked just for the chance to steamroll casual players. This mode is probably the closest we can get to separating competitive and casual play without people ruining it.

I still am not over that post 🤣😂🤣😂
Nope! I count myself lucky that I haven't had to pay the high price of reviving a team mate for an entire health state 😂 who would want that?

Except MacMillan where it has 11 rooms and 4 Yellow paths. Other 3 maps have 10 rooms and 2 Yellow paths. I think this is the standard of maps, while MacMillan being the beginner friendly.
I listed other 3 maps and they have a general rules applied to them:
- 18-20 paths total (3 ways path count as 1 path)
- 2 paths are Yellow, the others are between 5-7 paths
- 4 breakable walls
- Main room that connect to 5-6 other rooms.
How I decide to make paths is first to setup the map layout and decide how hard or easy to move between each area or rooms (as I did with Lery that you can see the Lobby is harder to move through than the bottom side. Or Coldwind has Backyard as a deathzone) I still play around with colors before making final decision.
I just finish drawing these and not play them yet. But Im sure these map would work.

Its DBD board game, fun to play with friends. Currently they have Basic game (7 survivors, 6 killers, 2 maps), Collector game (+10 survivors, +10 killers, +2 maps), and in this summer they will release Malicious game (+4 survivor, +3 killers, +2 maps).
Playing these alot, I found out keep playing the same maps making it boring. So I decided to create more map for us to play. And I would like to share them with others.

I have the Collector one! Have preordered the expansion too

These are really nicely done. I'm ashamed to say I haven't even opened my game 😬

Pipping is really just ticking off a check list. I like to refer to the wiki on how to get emblem points and pip adequately. It does get harder the closer you get to iri 1, and most people tend to stick to the rule of 2 - attempt to do 2 gens, 2 unhooks, 2 heals, 2 totems, 2 chases. Obviously you don't need that much to pip, but it's just a mental goal to give yourself. If you get at least some of that done then you should pip just fine.
Wiki:

It definitely does work. I used Distortion when doing the Escape 2 Trials tome challenge and while FTTE still made me exposed, it hid my aura. The screaming aspect doesn't get hidden by Distortion.
-
They probably got hit on hook or humped on the ground by a previous killer and took it out on you. At least, that's the sort of answer I get when I wonder why a killer humped me on the ground or hit me on hook - obviously the killer took their frustration at previous survivors out on me. The truth is that online gaming attracts all kinds of people, including those who feel quite inadequate in real life. Mocking from behind the safety of a screen is the closest they'll get to feeling any sort of power over others that they will face zero consequences for. At least that's my theory.

With only two small adjustments I would love to see this be a permanent game mode.
- Limit addons, items, and offerings to green rarity and below.
- Remove certain broken perks to be randomly given from the pool of perks available such as No Mither. If a perk is just kind of bad or "does nothing" then that is fine. But if there is a perk that will completely screw the player over then it should be removed. Honestly, No Mither is the only perk that comes to mind but I would leave this open to additional perks should they be added to the game or whatever.
I, personally, don't mind No Mither. I think all perks being available is part of the charm. It's okay to laugh at your horrible luck once in awhile and try adapt and make the best of it.
-
I'm personally loving it and struggling to go back to regular DBD. I played three regular games this morning and it was the same perks over and over. What appeals to me is the variety of perks and how it forces people to change up their way of playing, instead of simply letting perks play for them. I've never used Object of Obsession, for example, and got it in an earlier game. It was quite the experience lol in a good way. It was like playing tag with the killer. Vast majority of my games have been fine. Yesterday was terrible with repeated camping, tunnelling, etc, but I think that was more to do with the Bloodfeast ending and everyone trying to get as much bp as possible. Today was fine.

I hear you lol it was the first normal games I'd played since the modifier came out. I definitely went crawling back haha
-
Agreed. It's so nice having perk variety for once. BHVR have been buffing and nerfing meta perks to try and create variety and here we have the perfect solution.
-
I'd be fine with this. They've definitely been very generous with fragments during the last few weeks. Usually I don't finish the Rift until a couple weeks (sometimes even just a week) out from close, but I'll be finishing this one soon. I don't think every Rift will be like this though, but it would be nice if maybe during times where we get bonus fragments we have the ability to exchange for shards or bp
-
It likely was the no hooks thing. Hook states are also another precious team resource, so giving up one (or both) of yours can sometimes be the best option in ensuring you keep team mates alive long enough to get all gens done. The people who should be hiding when the killer comes are those on death hook. The ones who haven't been hooked at all, or only once, should take the chase in that scenario and let the death hook survivors chip away at gens. But ultimately, sending nasty messages isn't acceptable and is poor sportsmanship. A simple "hey, just for future reference (insert handy advice)" would have been better from the Feng. I wouldn't stress on it, just delete the message and move on.
-
I played 3 games in normal mode and it was so boring in comparison. Everyone had the same perks every game. The fun of the modifier is in not knowing what everyone has and just adapting and developing game sense as best you can.

yeah idk. it's one thing to say "i don't like when people give up" but it's another to go on to berate these individuals and act like they scorned you just by going next.
like i can't imagine caring about this so much, i consider myself neutral on it, if someone doesn't want to play, unfortunately i just cannot force them to play, but giving up still kinda sucks for the match. i never will understand these people who act like you just insulted their beloved mother in front of them. "how dare you!!!" 🤣
Yeah I'm the same. A few years ago I was the opposite - crying that letting go on hook was unfair etc. I think I've become a bit jaded over time with this game. I never see people DC or let go because theyve spotted the killer and dont like them, not even with SM anymore. Almost all of the time it's if they're being camped or tunnelled. If the killer wants someone out the game asap then I'm not sure why they're so upset when the person decides to give them what they want. Think of your team mates? The same team mates who won't take protection hits, won't attempt to take aggro, won't hook trade, won't touch gens, refuse to do anything injured... those team mates? I'm indifferent at this point in time

Game 9: two team mates dead at 4 gens. Nurse slugged me so she could find last survivor
Game 10: camped and tunnelled. No team mate attempted to take a hit or aggro
This is why people give up on hook. I'm done for the day 🤣 got bugger all bp for my wasted time

Today I learned that apparently just leaving a match is entitlement. 🤣
Some folks feel they're entitled to your time
-
I predict next anniversary will be Jason. We need a Camp Crystal Lake map.
-
I do agree. On a basic level, dodging enables you to pick your opponents in a way survivors cannot. If a killer wants to steam roll a team of baby survivors they have the means to do so, yet if one or more of those survivors decides to leave the match because they're vastly outskilled then they're the bad guy?
-
The better team should always win, that's how it should go. The issue here is SBMM. Though tbh you didn't do too badly at all, so I don't think it was too far off personally. Everyone has the odd game where they go against someone vastly outside their skill range. These sound like the exception as opposed to the norm for you? Nerfing survivors on the whole because of the odd bad game - in a game that is designed for you to lose occasionally - seems like overkill personally.
