So, as a fellow very anxious introverted female, my only suggestion is just bite the bullet and do it. With anxiety, our minds are our worst enemy. It's always full of "what if" scenarios. What if I lose? Well that's part of the game design - we are all supposed to lose games. What if they messing around with flashlights? Well I can just bring Lightborn. What if they're tbagging? Well I can't control what other people do. What if they're abusive in chat? Well I can just not read chat post-game. Address your fears head on and reason them out. You'll realize soon enough that your mind has a tendency to overreact and make things seem bigger than they actually are.
-
I assumed that's what we were getting tonight, per the Nov roadmap
-
Mine is the opposite at the moment - 50% for 2v8 and 150% for 1v4. I'm in Western Australia, which i believe is on the SEA server.

I’ve seen it as low as 50% for 2v8 surv. I tried queuing up for killer then, and it still took 13 minutes. No idea why BHVR is being stingy with the BP incentive.
Yeah it's currently 50% survivor on 2v8 for me. 150% for survivor on 1v4 though so that's what I've been playing
-
In my experience my games tend to flip flop - survivors win, then killers win, survivors win, killers, etc etc. Play a couple more games and see how you go (if you can stand the wait time for killer, I definitely can't)

Because nothing says "waste a bunch of time off gens" like instant 50% health bar abilities, plus the regular heal speed boost.
Not sure if you've played Medic, but there's a cooldown on the 50% instant heal. You have the ability to see injured survivors, I'm assuming because the point of the role is to traverse the map and keep people healed. So yeah, the role's abilities are designed to keep you off gens.
-
OR do the opposite and just incentivise whatever killers are lacking. Have another subsection in the game that gives additional bp or something for playing Trapper or whatever. Dunno how much it'll help but the prospect of a shorter wait time might help.

Can you do chests at the wrong time? Absolutely. - Does that mean people should never do chests? No. Does that mean opening chests always works against survs? Also no.
Can chests come in clutch? Absolutely. - Does that mean every chest has to be opened? No. Does that mean opening a chest is always a good idea? Also no.
It's nuanced. Making a blanket statement one way or the other just doesn't do the mechanic justice.
On the anecdotal evidence: The TBs I've found in various matches made the difference between us getting a gen- and losing anywhere between 5 and 10 hookstages to one crucial gen (usually the last - and sometimes that meant an 8E turning into a less-than-3-E).This. I'm still making my way through the Tomes and currently on a 'Cleanse 15 totems' challenge. Am I cleansing a totem every game? Heck no. Am I cleansing one if we're clearly winning and the team doesn't need my behind parked on a gen? Yes. There's definitely a wrong time for these things, but I can gauge the right time too.

Lol, killers are now solo q in 2v8 lmao!
Ngl, I was thinking this to myself earlier when I saw someone complain about having a useless killer team mate lol they're getting the solo queue experience sadly

You have a class that gives 5% per survivor bonus to gen progression.
4x guide survivors repair a gen. +5% per nearby survivor is a +15% each for the next gen they touch. All four jump on the next gen a it's 60% complete off the bat. Not to bring up the 8% repair speed bonus they can get.
They need to be hooked first to unlock that. And need 5 people around them for a 4 sided gen, and 7 people for a 3 sided gen. I've watched streamers try pull it off and just throw games. This isn't happening in your average game, and if it is then where are the killers when the whole team is surrounding a gen?
The issue I've noticed in my games is the tag teaming between killers who clearly aren't a duo in communication. I had a Spirit and Deathslinger completely annihilating the team when separate (multiple cages at 8 gens left), then for some reason they decided to team up, stagnated, and we got a 6 out.

I understand for newer players bloodpoints are all the rage, but they don't excite me, I hate completing bloodwebs. i frequently max out and lose BPs because I hate completing webs.
I enjoy playing survivor when I have a shot at escaping, so I don't really need anymore incentive to play, but maybe shards, one per match or something might entice people to play. We need to think outside the box, seeing that 250% and 400% didn't solve the issue last time. Shards might though.
Shards would be amazing but I doubt they'd do it. I stopped bringing items when Weave Attunement came out and now bp doesn't excite me much as I have no reason to spend it, but I still think it would help. Most of the playerbase love bp.

Im starting a new log for today. just incase BHVR doesn't belive us, I will record the queue and upload it to youtube. but Its probably going to make for one of the most boring videos on the internet.
BHVR have all the info, they can see everything. Including the average wait time of a lobby
-
6/8 😅 the last two stumped me because it's 7am and I'm too tired to think
-
I remember you saying the same thing during the last 2v8 lol did you end up going back to 1v4 after it?

I love going against Billy. I haven't had any issues going against Billy in 2v8. He still has the same counters that make him easy to evade in 1v4 if you know what you're doing. Use windows and try to force him to curve around obstacles. If he happens to be a god-level Billy who can curve around anything, tip your cap to him and move on. Fortunately, Billy players with that level of skill are pretty rare. Most of the time they'll bump into something with their saw a few times and then give up on the chase. He's only strong against survivors who don't know how to properly counter him.
Same. I think he's fine in 2v8, not to mention there's an abundance of tiles and pallets on these larger maps that complicate things for him. I don't think it's an issue at all
-
Medic and Scout are the most popular in my teams. Today I was playing whatever class was lacking and I pretty much played Guide or Escapist every game.

This exploit also takes 5 people for the 4 person gens, 7 for the 3 player ones to be instant. It is doable but past the 2-3 4 player ones its not going to happen a lot.
I think this is the exploit i saw Hens trying to pull off with a team, and even they struggled and threw multiple games trying to get it to work. Your average team isn't pulling this off lol

This is not what people wanted, they wanted basic 2 Killers 8 Survivors. Nobody wants it to be this "even".
And no, I don't buy the whole "But I don't care about balance in the party mode" statement some people have. I care about a fun game. 20 minute waits for an 8 minute game because Guide is overtuned and gens are too quick is not fun. I can blink and escape as Survivor in this mode. It's just not as fun as the first iteration.
"And no, I don't buy the whole "But I don't care about balance in the party mode" statement some people have"
It's kinda funny because survivors were told the same thing here ("game modes don't need to be balanced") during the first iteration. I'm even seeing complaints about this iteration from someone who repeatedly held that sentiment here on the forum in July. That's possibly why you're seeing it, people are just repeating what they were told.
-
I don't think it was so survivor would be more interesting lol people have their main favourite killers and they wanted the opportunity to play them in 2v8 as opposed to the previous small selection
-
I haven't experienced this at all. Only when there's 3 left do i tend to see slugging as they don't want hatch to spawn
-
There's something so satisfying about repairing pallets. I'm addicted to Scout and don't want to play any other class
-
"They are so many, it doesn’t make much difference if 2, 3, 4 or 5 escape, it is just a bunch of survivors"
This gave me a laugh because it's so accurate

Well, I've played a couple more games, mostly as survivor because I got tired of waiting over 20 minutes to play killer, and I got some interesting results:
Only a single match had a "balanced" outcome. 4k and 4e, that is. All of the others were stomps. Either the killers got all 8 or at least 7 survivors, or they didn't get more than 2.
Mine haven't been stomps, but they've been back and forth too. Killer win, then survivor win, then killer win, etc etc. Three games with 4e and 4k.
-
Last 2v8 it was seemingly a Huntress every game. I think I've seen more Nurses though this time around
-
Just had a funny game against a Blight and Huntress. Clearly they were not duo'ing, as the Huntress kept trying to help the Blight and double tap the survivor but Blight was NOT having it. At one point when he downed me and she'd been trying to help he started smacking her 🤣

in 2vs8 event
killer : 10-15minutes wait 0%
surv : 5 seconds wait 150%
surv 1000% is a reasonable bonus, but in reality it's only 150%.
There is a CAP, right? My survivor bonus is 250% and killer is 50%. You'd think if killer were at 0% they could give you 300% survivor

That's because its OP as survivor now, to be fair. However, survivors now get the chance to save teammates which is really nice
I personally haven't seen a save yet but the event is still early. My game results have been 50/50 so far.
-
Feels better as survivor this time around
-
I've only played 6 (survivor) games but it's been 50/50. 3 games killers won and 3 games survivors won.
Edit - 7th and 8th games were both a draw (4k, 4e). 9th was survivor win. 10th killer win, 11th survivor win.

I read somewhere a few years ago that the average age for gamers (at least people who when surveyed listed gaming as one of their primary hobbies) was 31, and that number was likely to go up.
Years and years ago it wasn't as "acceptable" for adults to game, but as times have changed and games gotten more diverse and nuanced, that has changed considerably.
Plus, as others have mentioned, gaming actually helps the brain as we age. I know I have no intention of ever stopping.
I remember both my dad and my stepdad being into gaming when I was a kid. I even went with my stepdad early morning when they released the steering wheel for Gran Turismo on the PS1 and watching him race against all the other adults to get one 🤣 adults have always played video games, I wonder if the older generation just liked to deny it out of embarrassment while we (millennials and gen z) embrace it

You think there was MMR in the last version? It didn't seem to be activated to me because I got some pretty new Killers and Survivors in a lot of my games. I was even able to max out my boldness points in a few trials by looping the Killers (this almost never happens in my regular games).
Towards the end of the event the mode started to feel a lot sweatier though. It stopped being so fun after the strategy of double teaming Survivors emerged and there was nothing you could really do against that.
Cant say for certain obviously, but since they did release kill rate stats for it I assumed they had SBMM running. It probably didn't have a huge impact though when I think about it, considering playing with a friend can put you in a higher or lower bracket than you should be anyway.
-
Are we getting a tome with this version btw? That would help me look forward to it alot more
-
I'm pretty neutral since I didn't particularly enjoy the first iteration. I'm still going to try this version of course but will see
-
There's probably a good chance they've completely dropped SBMM this time around because of the queue times. They'll also give crazy good bp incentives imo to play 2v8. I'm going to give it a shot like I did last time. I wasn't a big fan of it but we'll see this time. I have a backlog of other games I need to get through if I don't enjoy myself.
-
No such thing as too old for games (I'm in my thirties fwiw)
-
No, he doesn't need a nerf. But yes, he has a very low skill floor.
-
Survivors are unlikely to hang around and watch the entire game once sacrificed as they want to go to the next match.. So expecting to hear from any one other than the last survivor in chat (unless they're a swf) is probably pointless.
-
I'm guessing because of aura clutter. There are alot of lockers on maps, they'd block the auras of other things (like windows and pallets if someone is using WoO). I enjoy locker perks at times but I would really hate if they showed an aura tbh.

It does kinda seem like the balance of players has been consistent a lot lately…
I have noticed that the survivor queue is at 150% first thing in the morning, but otherwise it's bounced around from 0-50% most of the time for survivor.
Yeah I generally play in the morning once I get the kids off to school, and during the event I was getting 150-200% survivor during that time, fast queues too. The rest of the time it's about 25-50%
-
It's my most frustrating challenge too. As you said, it's not often you manage to last until the last gen has popped and it's even less often that you'll beat someone to the exit gate

yet again im not trying to be mean about this its just me being my usual weird self
It's actually voila, not viola 😅
-
I'll let most go if I understand why they're doing it. If the game is clearly over, I'll let them go. If they've done the hard work and no one else is doing anything then I'll let them go (yesterday I had a team mate run the killer for awhile at the start of the game, to the point where I got a gen done on my own. The other 2 survivors didn't touch a single thing. Not a gen or totem or anything. So yeah, I let the chased survivor let go on hook). If they get downed really quickly though and start to let go then nah, I'll unhook them lol I'll even take aggro for them if the killer comes back. You had a bad start, that's okay.
-
I'm glad they're adding to the Realms. I'd been hoping for another Ormond map for awhile. It really does look good.
-
Xeno would run a chicken farm
-
Perhaps she's either actually not as bad as she tries to be, hence her hesitation, or it's the entity messing with her because of her perceived weakness.
-
I feel like the current game balancing and SBMM system is making things worse. I think alot of killers are increasing in MMR faster than their actual skill can keep up with (hence why we see so many killers believing they're in high MMR and facing 4man swfs every single game), and survivors, during long losing streaks, are dropping into lower brackets (hence the frequent complaints about novice team mates).
-
It's almost like hooking is a primary aspect of the game and therefore the survivors ability to fight back against killers in the game is centred around that..
Regardless, play as you like. Just with the awareness that the devs main priority is the health and longevity of the game. If they feel slugging is having a detrimental affect on that then they'll address it. It's as simple as that.
-
I personally haven't noticed streamers playing in any particular way. There's a few with a decent audience that I regularly get matched with and my games with or against them are fine. I feel like the ones who play purely for content (ie trying to get a particular clip or outcome) are a very small minority. Most just play normally.
