I think he's kind of like Nurse, in that once you master him it's ggs. You can tell who is using the auto aim and who isn't, and when you get those Singularities who absolutely stomp without using auto aim then you see what I mean.
-
Have you ever played survivor with a bot team mate? They do the weirdest stuff sometimes, like just walk in circles. I always thought maybe they were just mimicking your average DBD player, but I think it's just the limitations of AI.
-
My theory was always that the rework was going to happen at the same time as Project T's release, since the game was set in the Backwater Swamp. They're probably just trying to find the best time to release it amongst everything else. Or it may have needed editing since Project T's cancellation.
-
I had a team mate try the new one tonight and the only consistent value was when the killer would carry someone to hook lol because obviously more often than not survivors disturbed birds before the killer had a chance to. On its own it's not worth it, these perks are just bad

I am surprised to hear how often this happens to some people. In my killer matches I don't get survivors that give up very often at all. In my last 20 matches or so I had it happen once. Sometimes it does happen at higher frequency no doubt, but definitely not almost every game.
Most of the time I just play the game out normally though to be done with it, farming is super boring to me.
Nice to see I'm not alone. It doesn't happen often in my games either

Have just seen a load of stuff about this on twitter. Looks very abusable and once a big creater makes a video on this, get ready for hex builds all over the place! Will probably get changed pretty quickly if it becomes a big problem.
I have no doubt content creators are scrambling over each other trying to be the first to post it lol

I would imagine this actually opens up more viable maps for Myers instead of 99% of them feeling like they need to bring Lerys to stand a chance
-
They said back in 6.1 update that they would be eliminating all bp rewards from perks. Took awhile to get to some of them but that day has come

That's not nearly as fun as continuing to play the match normally imo. Anytime a killer turns friendly I usually DC if its super early. I just like to play the game normally. No personality here lol.
I don't do farming either, not my thing, but Ill never say no to a good exit gate slug race or shooting gallery. I feel like it humanises everyone and reminds me that it's just a game at the end of the day

What? I'm not familiar with this. Please explain it so I can visualize it.
Okay I'll try lol picture the Huntress facing the open exit gate. One survivor is running from left to right inside the gate to behind the pillars, while another is running from right to left just inside to behind the wall. They just go back and forth. So it's like a shooting gallery where the target goes back and forth for the shooter to hit, except in DBD it's a Huntress aiming her hatchets and trying to hit and down you both as you go back and forth.
-
As long as they keep changing the events up I'm happy with them to continue. I didn't enjoy the first iteration of Lights Out at all but the second was a bit better. Likewise with 2v8, the first iteration wasn't all that enjoyable for me but the second one felt better. They seem to be listening to feedback so I'm okay with seeing more iterations in future and see how they change them.
And if I don't enjoy future versions then I can simply do what I've done in the past and not play it. 2-3 weeks without DBD isn't gonna kill me.

But if you're hunty and you farm with the survivors, they could run sideways across the inside of the exit gate area to make a shooting gallery for you!
Oh, and also, my 'go next policy' depends on how I'm feeling. I'll usually slug the fool trying to go next without disconnecting. If they self-sacrifice on hook, I'll take it easy at least for a while. Maybe go on a hunt for novelties around the map. That's how I found a bag with Laurie's name on it! Then if they do an extra gen or two, I'll think about picking the match up there; sometimes I'll farm instead.
I love doing this with Huntresses in the exit gate (only if they're clearly into it). Even better when another survivor joins in.

Probably because if they introduce strong perks then they get accused of making the game more pay to win. I swear people in this game are impossible to please. It was a due nerf, and there are plenty of strong perks out there. Shoulder the burden was being abused by SWF's, mostly streamers, to have way more chases with a killer while running a runner build. That wasn't the intention and it got nerfed because of it. Really sad to see people get this dramatic over balancing.
How does increasing Exposed from 20s to 40s change things for swfs?
-
Ask in a few weeks once people have learned to both play as and against her. You'll get a more accurate answer then
-
She talks in lobby so I guess so
-
Am very grateful to the Taurie doing her adept. Was on my third game today going on my third game of being tunnelled and she used this perk on me, which was nice. That's enough DBD for me today though lol

They're fixed 😊 thanks BHVR

Wow, so yeah. I mean a streamer I mentioned it to did kind of make a good point… I don't 100% agree, but I think I see BHVR probably though as he does… When we have 4 Invocation perks in the future, it will get very broken (pun not intended) since the effects are permanent changes to the trial, not able to be cleansed/snuffed like Hexes/Boons.
"When we have 4 Invocation perks"
Watch your mouth 🤨
-
I think this is a great compromise. I imagine killers will use one when they suspect they're facing a 4man and survivors will use them when they're not in the mood for an undetectable killer on Midwich lol the latter is why I will use it

Maybe worse
Stand still for 100 seconds without taking any action and then gain 3% generator repair speed for 20 seconds.
1% for each of the idle Crows you obtain

Good ideas, I support all this. The grind is way too difficult for new players

Also seems to be a new trend of "Slap Broken for 60 second to rest of match" on any survivor perc that could have some use.
My prediction for 2025 survivor perk:
"Heal a survivor, unlock a chest, and invade a small island nation to hide your aura for 60 seconds. You will be Broken for the rest of the match."
-
I've said for awhile that alot of newer survivor perks are just killer perks in disguise lol there's a reason the top survivor perks consist mostly of older perks. Once upon a time we actually got perks to help, not hinder
-
It is what it is, but yes, I don't think many will run it now. The nerf guarantees it won't be seen in solo queue. Babysitter comes with no downsides and yet you rarely see it. People aren't sticking their neck out that far for randoms lol the knee-jerk reactions to new survivor perks happens like clockwork and it's disappointing the devs rarely take a "wait and see" approach the way they do to almost all killer perks

I was hating it tbh but I realised that it has been VERY nice to have not seen a single Trickster, Twins, Knight, SM or Chucky since they aren't in this mode. It makes me kind of dread going back to normal mode for that reason alone, even though 2v8 definitely has its own frustrating aspects I still find it less irritating than versing the killers I despise.
On the flipside though, it's all Wraiths 😬
-
I made a habit of playing whatever role needed someone most, and ended up playing Escapist most followed by Guide. So definitely Medic and then Scout were the most popular
-
I wonder if it's that it's had less marketing, or that with the constant events and happenings over the past several months we're just oversaturated with DBD and so it just feels like they haven't marketed it as much?

Does it? I am not sure.
Yup, it does. It ends when the new chapter is released so shouldn't be an issue 😁

My favourite build at the moment is
Resurgence (healing), Empathy (info), Lightweight (chase), and Fast Track (gens)

I know it sounds terrible to say this, but I knew it was a free weekend before anyone told me just solely based on all the failed skill checks I started seeing in the 2vs8 trials. At the MMR I'm currently at, you seldom see failed skill checks. It's like seeing a unicorn out in the wild. And the entire time, up until now, I was not seeing them. And I feel for those newer players because, sure enough, that failed skill check would bring one or two killers over to down them. At least when I was learning the ropes, I was not getting two teamed by a huntress and a wraith lol.
Yup I've noticed the missed skill checks too lol they don't hang around though haha they bolt and leave me to deal with whoever comes
-
If I'm going for an unhook and see someone else heading for it then I jump back on my gen. It's just a consequence of no comms among the team, but common sense should apply too. If I see others following me like in your situation, I just veer off to a gen and let them take it. I tend to get a number of unhooks in the beginning because I immediately head to the opposite side of the map to start a gen there, so the first downs are usually around me lol so hopefully people stick to their gens instead of running across map

Even if players were okay with having multiple bots as survivors, I've heard (anecdotally, to be fair) that anything more than 2 bots really messes with performance. The bots are resource-intensive and the servers can't handle more than a couple in a match.
Again, that's anecdotal, so it's not necessarily true, but BHVR has said the reason Nemesis only gets to have 2 zombies is in part because anything more hurts performance. And Nemesis zombies have garbage AI. The survivor bots do a bit more than get stuck in corners and stare at rocks.
I had a 2v8 game where, despite still having several team mates in game, I did the last TWO gens on my lonesome while most of the team were doing who knows what. I went down and got caged, and watched them all tbagging the killers in the exit gate with clearly no intention of coming back for me. One lone survivor peeled away and came all the way across the map to unhook me... and it was the darn BOT. Shocked the heck out of me. She then proceeded to jump into the nearby hatch after uncaging me but beggars can't be choosers I guess lol my assumption is that the presence of the killer/s near the exit gate may have caused her to turn away and her next objective was to come grab me but still, I'd rather they be programmed to be more altruistic in endgame since they obviously won't care if they get sacrificed lol
We know games with DCs don't count in the stats so may as well turn the bots escape priority down a notch
-
I thought they would've been back by now. I really don't like the cosmetic without the stockings, it just looks incomplete.
-
Yup. I've stopped playing 2v8 because of the ridiculous hits the last few days. It wasn't like this last week.

I'm surprised how many people here say that MMR doesn't work. It really does it's job as intended, but it's paired in the matching algorithm with a factor that also prioritizes matchmaking speed.
I wonder if it would be feasible to make a matchmaking update that lets players have a slider in the settings menu that increases or decreases the weight of MMR vs matchmaking speed in the matchmaking algorithm.
If I had to program this myself, I'd probably assign each player an MMR score and an associated available MMR pairing range (i.e. outside that range, you can't be paired with them), then put them into a matchmaking pool queue with a timer that periodically updates their matchmaking MMR range. The longer the wait, the more their MMR range broadens. Likewise, upon creation of a lobby, the lobby gets an average MMR score and an MMR range which similarly broadens with time, perhaps averaging out the MMR pairing ranges of players already in the lobby. Then, each lobby pings the player queue pool, running through all possible matches and checking whether their MMR range overlaps with the lobby MMR range. If they overlap, join lobby.
I'm sure it's more nuanced than this in order to make additional balancing considerations, but here you can imagine the problem: if the MMR weight is too high, players could wait ages to have their MMR pairing range overlap with a lobby. If the MMR weight is too low, stupid matches will occur. No sugarcoating that, stupid things will happen. But I could see allowing players to make small adjustments to their MMR weight by allowing a slider in the settings menu to adjust the MMR weight in a small range.
I don't think it's that it doesn't work, it's that however they've programed it to work is making the experience worse in alot of cases.
From a survivor main who doesn't understand programming or any of that sort of stuff, it feels different nowadays than it did when it first was introduced.
Back then, I felt like my team mates were on a similar experience level to me. Nowadays, it feels like they take the killers MMR and match two people at the same or slightly higher level, as well as two people at a lower level for easy pickings. If the killer finds the latter players first then it's ggs. If they find a better player first then usually they can carry the game enough to give the team a chance. Expecting people to carry their team mates isn't fair imo.
Whether that is what is happening obviously i don't know, but it's simply what it *feels* like comparing now to back then. And I've seen others feeling the same way, like complaints about team mates I feel is at an all time high because we've all noticed this mis-match happening too frequently.
-
Lol who on earth told him he was the "23rd best survivor in the world?" So random.
Anyway, I imagine most players who hit 10k hours have probably at least already started drifting away from the game so the pool of players at that level would be quite small. So they simply get thrown in with the rest of us.
-
I don't think map offerings are that big an issue, but wouldn't care if they removed them
-
At least you got a response to your report lol I've gone to the effort a few times of recording/uploading survivors teaming up with killers to troll and reporting them. I don't get a reply and no action has ever been taken. Some stuff may be "against the rules" but not enough for the devs to care so honestly, unless it's a hacker then I wouldn't waste time reporting anything.
-
I'm looking forward to it. I enjoy original chapters and seeing what the devs come up with. Exception being SM lol but Houndmaster looks unique enough that I'm intrigued
-
I used to feel this way back when I first started playing. He felt really strong to me as a new player. A good Wraith is still very strong but your average Wraith is fine imo. I play him sometimes too and recommend him for new players as a good killer to start with because he is pretty simple to learn. He's one of the more common killers I've faced and most people play him the same way, so he can be quite predictable.

It's not much different to 1v4 lol first few gens pop fast and then nothing. But it's embarrassing seeing like 6+ survivors and I'm the only one trying to get a gen done (usually while on death hook too). Then when I'm caged I see one or two slow entering or exiting lockers lmao

I play whatever class is lacking and sometimes when I'm Scout I'll see the upright pallet auras and get confused thinking I'm playing Escapist 😅

My guess - swf who didn't like Trickster, then solo Vittorio was likely hoping you'd take pity on him and target the bots. Hence the reason he DC'd when you downed him.

I saw someone write somewhere that the more time you spend in the Entity's realm or the more times you get sacrificed, the more blue you turn. But that's probably nonsense because Vittorio isn't very blue colored...

I think a few bots wouldn't hurt per match. It would speed up queues thats for sure. Even if it was 2 or 3 bots at most. It would help a lot in queue times. Is it the perfect solution? No, but it would be good.
I think it would put a lot of people off (I know I wouldn't play with bots). 2-3 bots would push out quickly to 4-5 bots when alot of survivors just go back to 1v4. Also someone mentioned not letting survivors know who is a bot but if you've ever played with them you know lol especially once all the gens pop and they immediately open the exit and leave you to die. If they were gonna add bots then offer full bot lobbies, don't just saddle real survivors with them.

yeah but they’re probably only gonna put like 3 or 4 outfits in the store. Not all unfortunately.
Since we've been getting a couple in the store every now and then without fanfare, I'd hope that it making it on a roadmap means we'll see a bit more.
