Or... we can change the perk to where it has an equal impact to both sides. For example, Shadowborn has an equal impact on both sides, Brutal Strength, Predator, Enduring, and etc... etc... etc...Well_Placed_HexTotem said:
Exactly it’s like people don’t understand how balance works. How exactly do you balance a perk to be viable versus SWF endgame yet still make it not OP against single players? You can’t, because that doesn’t make any sense. SWF is too strong in this game.Tucking_Friggered said:@Nickenzie said:

I understand the argument you are making but I disagree with it entirely. NOED works quite well versus SWF. Nothing is 100% but without it you have no threat at all end game versus a coordinated team. At this junction, solo survivor is screwed. There is no perk design that can be created that will be strong enough for a group yet harmless versus a solo survivor. Instead of tippy toeing around that issue the community needs to come to grips with how broken SWF is. But since people are not brokers of truth or fair play and do not care SWF remains and so does the perk strength.
@Vietfox I know something we can agree on, SWF takes the perk down instantly, yes? Why not change it to where it won't get destroyed by SWF but at the same time, still keeping most of its strength.
This rework would solve everything about NOED, it will make perk viable for both groups of survivors. No One Escapes Death:

Scenario A: You start cleansing totems but since you aren't participating in generator repairs, your team starts to struggle and eventually get sacrificed. You just helped the killer by directing your pressure to totems and not generators. This would be the 2 versus 3 scenario because you ACTUALLY helped the killer.
Scenario B: Same as before but this time, your survivor team is 3-man SWF and you're the solo in the team. They start pumping out generators like no tomorrow and now, you're on a timer to cleanse all 5 dull totems before they power the final generator. This would be scenario 1 versus 1 versus 3 because you aren't helping the killer and the SWF aren't helping you.
Scenario C: Let's assume you're using Small Game and you start hitting totems. You're doing so good until you struggle to find the last dull totem, but you won't give up. Eventually the exit gates were powered on and you're scared out of your mind. Suddenly in the HUD, you see a survivor get injured instead of being downed. Now, you understand everything... A random survivor cleansed a dull totem which caused you to waste your time finding the non-existent 5th totem. This would be a 1 versus 1 versus 3 scenario because the randoms screwed up your mental counter while the killer was abusing that.
Working as intended. Sometimes you do everything right and your team causes you to lose. You outlined things that can happen in a game not a reason NOED is unfair.

I'm starting to think NOED is fine, but I really don't like how the perk destroys solo survivors while SWF can take it down in a breeze. This needs to be changed, make NOED equally as strong for both groups of survivors. The only way to do that would be to make it so the NOED totem doesnt even spawn until it activates. Instead of choosing a random one, it would basically have to just appear once the last gen is finished. That way it would be impossible for comms teams to clear them all in an organized fashion, and it would put them on (more) even footing with solo survivors. Of course even then, they would be able to organize searching in different sections of the map, so it would STILL favor them vs solo.
I dunno, it could work, but I feel like an easier way to do this is by getting every survivor to cleanse at least a single totem. If they don't, then we can increase the punishment since anyone can just cleanse a single totem.
For example, if you cleansed a totem, your safe from NOED but everyone else isn't unit they cleansed one. If they don't cleanse one at the end of the game, they will have their aura revealed for a certain amount of time while being permanently exposed.

@The_Crusader
I'd to explain my opinion on NoED and tell you its flaws as well as how to rework the perk.
The problem with NoED is that whenever the killer is using the perk (or isn't sometimes), you as a solo survivor will have to cleanse 5 dull totems. The moment you start doing that, the game has now turned into either a 1 versus 1 versus 3 or a 2 versus 3 scenario.
Done, NOED now has equal impact on SWF and solo Q survivors without being ridiculous to counter.

If for example after every match it returns a certain function but is unable to do so, then it knows something went wrong. (Similar to how unreal engine knows it crashed when it gives you a crash log)
It's possible that such a thing also successfully works when you unplug the power. But if you have problems with electricity, then that might mean no DBD when it turns back on.:P
Good, because sometimes the game actually screws up.

Playing in the green ranks and it's literally carrying every single killer there. Guess this is the easy way to balance the game. Killers are struggling? oh well just give them a perk to make up for it.
Now before people cry "ClEaNsE tHe ToTUmZ", how about the devs actually make that viable for single player by giving some notification of when dull totems are destroyed? or after doing 4 am I meant to run around the map searching every nook and cranny just to be sure?
God I hate this game sometimes. NOED and DS, 2 perks that change the entire outcome of the match. Great game design right there.
Maps are excellent at finding totems. -
I don't see the big with adding this to the game to be honest. People will always make something up because it hurts his or her side, ya know? However, I can see survivors rushing parts on at least 5 generators and then start popping all 5 generators once they have all their parts in less than a minute. This actually doesn't sound bad because to previously get those parts, you'd have wasted a good 10 minutes to do something like that! Furthermore, it does counter Ruin but at the expense of your time so I'm completely on board with this!AlwaysInAGoodShape said:blah blah I know what I’m talking about thanks

I didn't report, usually lag switchers will abuse their power more than once. In this scenario, even through you only seen a fraction of the gameplay, this only happened once. Therefore, I concluded that this was just a spike due to packet loss but if this would have happened to me more than once. I would've reported just to be on the safe side of things.Peanits said:That is almost definitely just a 'lag spike' (the connection was broken for a second there and a couple of packets were dropped). We'll take a look into it, we can tell if it's just lag or not.

Is it possible it was a graphical glitch, too? It looks like even though he looked to be going to the side, he was actually moving forward. With lag switches, you're like flying through the ceiling and stuff. xD

I think this was just bad ping to be honest because lag switchers tend to use their P2P connection powers more than once in a game. I understand your concern but ToTH is known for its flawed mechanics. I did a touch and run strategy where you touch a Hex totem then you quickly hide just to see the killer searching for me. Eventually the killer lost interest and left the area to find more survivors. I touched it again, and the same process happened again until the killer gave up and said, "You can have it!" Basically.vampire_toothy said:I think this idea is neat but as stated before, Huntress Lullaby for the most part is fine as it is currently plus you could abuse this new version of the perk with thrill of the hunt while playing spirit as it's basically free prayer beads after a certain point. I feel like a better and a more understandable version will to have the hatch spawn a obviously placed lock on it. The lock will remain on the hatch until there's only one survivor remaining in the trial or until someone removes it with a key.
Step 1:
-Using a key on the hatch will immediately remove the lock while granting all survivors the ability to open the hatch by hand.
Step 2:
-Takes a few seconds for the survivor to open the hatch by hand and probably be long enough so that the survivor can't open the hatch directly in front of the killer.
Once opened, you're forced to jump in and the hatch will close after you escape. -
Nice shot, they shouldn't be able to recover from that blow! :chuffed:fcc2014 said:@Vietfox said:

The speed can be used to get an easy hit or give you more map pressure if you're not in a chase. In other words, this perk is really good but you're sacrificing generators to compensate for its insane value.Poweas said:@Nickenzie said:

Adrenaline is fine in my opinion because most of the time, the heal and speed boost will be wasted unless you're playing SWF or have great timing. However NOED is a completely different story. It destroys solo Q survivors while being almost useless to SWF since everyone cleanses totems (with communication to keep track). This needs to change so that NOED is threatening to both sides, not just solo Q survivors.
How would this fit NOED?
No one Escapes Death:
Progress infuriates you beyond belief which calls upon your potential. Whenever a generator is completed, receive a 5%/10%/15% haste effect until you perform a successful offensive action. Every generator completed gives you a 4% attack cool down decrease. Speed bonuses from No one Escapes Death doesn't stack if multiple generators are completed simultaneously.Oh that's smart. Combined with STBFL (which btw I've been using on Hag and Wraith and dominating straight out with it) it'd make a 60% decreased cooldown when all gens are done. That's awesome.
Imagine a 130% movement speed Wraith with a 60% cool down! After you M1 a survivor, you go back down to 115% but keep the 60% cool down so there's some crazy stuff you can do! -

What's stopping me from hiding in a locker until I'm the final survivor? The hatch should be earned in a different way than just being the last survivor in my opinion.White_Owl said:As a killer your survival depends on other three guys that might be literally braindead? No.
NOED rewards you if you fail as killer, the hatch compensates for having a bad team.
I don't hide in lockers btw, just saying that the hatch is a hindrance to both sides. I had times where I would run a killer just to see my teammate sitting at the hatch, not doing generators. Luckily i-frames from my deliverance carried me to a pallet and I pointed out the survivor. -

I find it odd how they all claim they dodge SWF but still have a major issue with it - almost like they just want the fun removed.
If you think SWF is hard, and you start buffing around that, you make the game impossible for solo players, well done, you've further ruined the game because some bad killers on the forum can't handle SWF.
At any point are you going to post something that isn't pointless rhetoric? The posts you are making are remedial. You can boil it down to "leave SWF broken and OP because i'd like to convince you that if you buff killers to deal with them you leave solo survivors hosed, while at the same time I hope that you aren't intelligent enough to know nerfing the living hell out of SWF will solve the issue and have none of the drawbacks."
Some of the best killers in this community know and state SWF is broken and you, an unknown in comparison, speak as if you breeze through SWF like it's nothing. It's all hot air. Nobody cares about potato groups it's about the best of the best getting a free ride because the game is exploitable with VoIP and they know how to do it to the Nth degree.
and almost everyone on this forum is a massive nobody but you expect us all to listen to them? If it looks like bias, swims like bias, and sounds like bias, then it probably is bias.
"You're a nobody Senzu, so everything you say doesn't mean anything, however all these nobody killers should be listened to because idk they agree with me".
That's right Senzu, you are an unknown and no one listens to your rhetoric particularly when it is so painfully obtuse and contrary to things fundamentally understood by the community. Even the devs have acknowledged the issues, they just don't care.
As for those nobody killers? Yeah, no. They are large streamers with cult followings that bring many players to the game and act as a constant source of entertainment for people interested in DbD. There are many days where watching one of them sparks my interest in playing and I'm certainly not alone.
What huge streamers are here talking about game issues? lmfao
You have tru3 &... who? lmao they certainly aren't here, are they.
Why would they be? The devs don't pay attention to this forum any more than they did the Steam forums. Reddit and private messages are where it's at. They also have better things to do than go over issues already talked about endlessly with unknown and intellectually dishonest people like yourself.
I love how upset you guys get by this forum.
Little bit of info for you, you're also a huge nobody. I have a different opinion to you, that's cool it's a free world. I'm sorry I don't struggle at every mechanic at this game like you do. I love playing against SWF, I never dodge lobbies and I don't cry about SWF.
I'm still super curious about this list of large streamers with cult followings that share the same "delete swf" ideology you have.
That's not called being dishonest it's called having a different opinion, surely someone with the huge intellectual capacity that someone such as yourself holds should understand that.
The main issue with this game is DS/Map Layouts. SWF is easy, stop crying and get better at the game.
I don't take you seriously my man. Hearing git gud from someone like you is akin to the survivor I kill telling me how bad I am after I removed them from the game. I can't stop them from saying it, but its self evident.
You guys are so cute, have a lovely day

You're not even a good troll. When I read delete SWF I knew I was talking to a low information poster willing to give just enough attention to have a reason to post but not attuned enough to understand the conversation in its entirety.
Right so anyway if you're going to continue this conversation - can I have all the evidence you must have of these large cult following streamers that want something done about SWF?
As far as I can tell the majority of them deal with SWF pretty well.
See how easy you are? Let me show you how you dismiss and ignore someone permanently.
You really think too highly of yourself it's honestly the cutest. a nobody telling a nobody that no one listens to nobodys while telling that nobody they should listen to them.
I have to agree with Senzu, SWF is exaggerated by a lot of killers to be honest. I only lose 1 in every 10 SWF games and that is no where near OP. -

Another thing, what's up with the 2 toolboxes/Flashlight/Med-Kits = SWF stereotype? It's like we have to follow their imaginary rules just to play a game of survivor, God bless this is ridiculous. Yet ironically, whenever they use certain add-ons it's okay??? Why can't we use our items???
I rarely ever bring items. I got so use to the early days on console where you got dodged for prestige clothing and items i never wore my stuff or brought things. I have stacks and stacks of stuff for that reason. I don't get made when 5 matches in a row a killer uses a mori, or infinite tier 3 myers, or iridescent axe heads. You bought it play that #########. Ok you killed me i will just play another round. I've been beat before, i'm sure i will again i don't care. It is a game.

Oh yes, let's assume every survivor is a try hard and every SWF is the depip squad. You get a gold star for assuming the absolute worst about every survivor.NathanExplosion said:@Nickenzie said:
You're not entitled to a win anyways and besides, why not take a challenge for once? It's how you improve and when you go against survivors that you know won't pose not even a challenge to you, then why even play killer at that point? Sure, if you want a relaxing game that's understandable, but why play killer if that relaxing game will never happen because your idea of a relaxed game is when survivors don't use certain items, perks, add-ons, and skins? You minus well play survivor at that point and quit wasting the time of survivors who actually wanna play a game, ya know?

@Giddawid
Team Deathmatch
-Both SWF and solos can join but SWF can no longer join the old game mode [5 generators and a single killer].
-Add cross platform capability to compensate for the split player's base.
-There will be free voice communication in this game mode for the solos wanna participate.
-Perks will be adjusted/buffed to compensate for the communication in the game.
This game mode is a 5 versus 5 game where one person on each team is voted as the killer for that team. There will be 10 generators and 10 totems with 5 of each kind belonging to their corresponding team. Your team's killer is supposed to go after the other team's survivors and vice versa. Killers cannot interact with other killers to keep things simple! Whoever earns the most bloodpoints and emblem quality will be victorious.

Exaggerating the issue won't help prove your point even more since you're talking about EVERYONE being sweaty in their games. Not everyone is like that and if you are, then you probably aren't enjoying the game to its fullest, ya know? Furthermore, how would you like it if survivors could see what you're running and dodged you because you're playing Pig? Everyone thinks DCing over the player's selected killer is bad, we all can agree there but it's ironic when you do the same thing over the player's selected item choice.NathanExplosion said:@Nickenzie said:

There are way enought of them for it to be a problem.
I'm also gonna add that there is no need of "SWF try-hard SWAT teams" for SWF to already be a problem.
In regard of the importance of informations and how efficiently they can be communicated, balance wise.

Sorry, I actually want to PLAY the game, not have it end in 5 minutes. And you know why killers get to see survivor loadout? Because killer is supposed to be in the POWER ROLE. You know, because it's an asymmetrical horror game? Even though the balance is a joke, that is the intention. If you don't like being dodged, don't load in with 2 toolboxes, an insta heal and a purple flashlight.

Same thought here!
@Detective_Jonathan Everyone is entitled to use whatever perk they want for any random reason. They bought the game and they get what they paid for so it's only fair, ya know?
Ok so when i see you i'll run iri head on huntress.
Fair game!
Edit: Survivor is too easy so make sure you use a Ebony mori and iridescent hatchets. I love to a challenge, especially when it's the same thing over and over again. -

The destruction of this Hex call upon the Entity to block all remaining totems for 60/90/120 secondsSo the survivors would have to wait 120 seconds until they would be able to destroy Devour Hope? And there is nothing they could do against it?

I agree with you, I wouldn't mind to get rid of the ToTH counter but I made this perk in mind with my ToTH rework. If the developers added both reworks into the game then the ToTH "counter" needs to stay (even through my Small Game rework won't counter my ToTH rework). However, if the developers only add my Small Game rework into the game then the ToTH counter needs to go. About the auras, I'm okay with Open Handed increasing the range to 16 meters because the survivor sacrificed two perk slots to find every totem.AlwaysInAGoodShape said:I really like the direction you're taking the perk into!
I recently had a game against the hag inside of Lery's and I can tell you: Small Game DID NOT help me find the totems! Instead I kept peeking every corner after it went off just to walk into a trap, and let alone the frequent sounds that come off of the current Small Game!
I'd say keep the max range 12 meters + remove the ToTh anti-debuff (I'm just really happy if the spam sound is gone!) and there's something to think about:
Aura reading gets affected by Open Handed. Since the number (8/12) here is very sensitive, Open Handed builds may cause an unintended strong effect. If you consider this to be balanced then there's no issue here. However if you consider it unbalanced, then a simple trick of turning the "aura reading" into a sort of floating silent visual notification located at the totem spot when within range could prevent such an interaction. (:

I don't really like this idea for a few reasons.AlwaysInAGoodShape said:The destruction of this Hex call upon the Entity to block all remaining totems for 60/90/120 seconds
I had a random thought about this part:
What if it didn't block Hex totems, but for X/X/X amount of seconds after ToTH being destroyed, it will make all other active Hex totems persist, even while being destroyed during this duration?
If we had the Entity block the totems so any survivor could not cleanse it then you're getting the same effect as you previously stated BUT better. Not only do they have to wait but now they have to come back later to finish the job which will waste more time. However, if this is too strong, we could decrease the time to something less overwhelming. -
Whenever there is a hatch standoff, I'll either smack the survivor in the butt or kill myself by jumping into the hatch. I don't have time for a flawed mechanic, it's better to move on in my opinion.fcc2014 said:@drunky26 said:
If 2 gens are done and 3 survivors are dead, hatch is open for the last survivor. It's kinda unfair because if the killer killed others while only 2 gens got done, he deserves the 4th kill.
You don't "deserve" a 4k. You got 3 and move on. If you to the ranks with better players you will be lucky to get 3k.
