Again adding nothing to the discussion, just whataboutism and trying to derail the thread. Do you have counterpoints on how these addons are actually balanced?

    Are you for real ?

    • You main point is : "hey guys, these addons make her better !". Sure, that’s the point of addons you know.
    • "But these addons are stronger than the others !". Sure, one of them is a purple rarity, you know, it’s supposed to be better than the green, yellow and brown rarity.
    • "But it’s not balanced !" Last time we got balance, we got MMR. Was that fun ? DBD is a party game, by bringing absolute balance and competition, you remove all the fun. Some balance is OK, but bringing Nurse to Trapper level is absurd.
    • "But it’s broken". No it’s not. If it was broken, everyone would be playing her and winning, and the reality is the exact opposite. If anything, according to stats, she needs a BUFF.

None of your points counter what I said. My conclusion is that addons on a killer who can by basekit imemdiately close the gap with a survivor, shouldn't be this strong. I didn't talk about other killers, except spirit, who was only an example.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2898159#Comment_2898159

It's an average speed, calculated by dividing the overall distance covered by the time required (also known as normalization). So yes, she can, by blinking twice at max range and holding W during the full process.

She is so strong that nobody is playing her, and the few that are playing her are bad and not winning games. But hey, let’s nerf her because there is a dude that didn’t touch grass for a month got a 30 winstreak on twitch and because I did some maths.

  • I read everything. Doesn’t change the fact that :

    • she is one of the least played killer
    • with the lowest killrate
    • most survivors don’t know how to counter a nurse

Yes these are good addons. A lot of killers have good addons. What’s the next theme ? Blight ? The Artist ? AFK Pig ? Pinhead ? Everyday there is a new complaint about a killer in a heavy survivor sided meta. She takes hundreds of hours for the average player to be decent at.

That's not exactly the full truth here. You also kept saying how survivors needs to be educated on killer tactics and how they aren't toxic (which I get it) but you only argued 1 sided toxicity as if the other side isn't malicious themselves

I said multiple times I don't play enough survivor to speak about the survivor experience. I also said you are free to do so, if you got any toxiticy from killers and how it happened. Feel free to share any screenshot here (don't forget hide names) and what BHVR should do to solve it.

To your second point about chaining tiles together (which I agree with), couldn't you also argue that Overcome and Lithe allow you to do the exact thing, but while playing from full health.

Dead hard does it better because it is on command. It can also eat powers with the invincibility part.

  • image.png

I stoped DBD for a month due to toxicity. I came back today, wanted to try The Artist for the first time :

    • I have yellow perks with her
    • I am playing chill and fair because I just want to understand her power
    • Because I have some experience with killer, I am doing great, zoning people of gen and sniping them when they go for saves
    • A Bill and Nea start to be toxic by clicking, I don't pay attention
    • And that's what I get in the end game chat.

So survivors aren't allowed to try and survive in a dead zone? They're supposed to just not survive and die neglecting the role as a "Survivor"?

Why do you think it's called a "dead zone" ?

  • I think that the majority of survivors, even the most toxic ones would not support cheaters and would report if we had a better report system. Because at the end of day, to keep the pleasure of the victory, we have to play it legit.

  • Yea it’s subtle most of the time. It’s another reason to avoid high MMR as killer.

But dont’ think too much about it. There will always be cheaters in video games, and you will lose to them. It doesn’t mean you are bad because they had wall hacks, speed hacks to compensate their lack of skill.

How is getting clipped by a Huntress hatchet when you turn the corner "fair"? How is having a Blight rush a million miles per hour to cut you off "fair"? Or him moonwalk rushing all the way around shack and doing a 180 turn to hit me? Leave just so he catches back up in 5 seconds then do it again?

I understand that not every situation is suppose to put the survivors on the top. But there's often times that death is just something that happens just because. You're put in situations where no matter where you turn you're dead. DH is undeniably a problem. I won't pretend it isn't. And I never did. But there is a reason why it's used so often. It's a band-aid fix for many lose/lose scenarios that also is too good to pass up. Patching one thing and neglecting the other one that justified the existence of the former doesn't fix anything. When DH gets nerfed I promise you that we will see killer changes not too long after.

    • The Huntress had to throw the hatchet, have a good aim and land a successful hit. She can miss you know, and use all of her hatchets, having to reload and waste time. It takes skill, she deserves to hit you if she is a good aimer. The downside is that she is very slow and doesn’t have time to patrol the gens, especially if it is a huge map.
    • If a Blight knows the rush around the shack, he is already decent. It means the shack is not safe and you should run to safer tiles.

Yes sometimes, they are no safer tiles and you are stuck in a lose/lose scenario because you or someone else already use all your ressources (pallets). That’s fair because you should have convert these ressources into gen repair time. Keep in mind that the killer already wasted a lot of time by chasing someone here and breaking pallets. You should not be able to use dead for distance and create artificial new ressources by connecting loops, maps are not created with dead hard in mind at all.

BHVR take action with things said within their own game, and my friend is proof of that since he's on his 4th (?) account now thanks to being banned for "Chat abuse". BHVR do not take action with things said or done on different platforms, a la Steam.

Also don't be sure Steam would take action; I've reported someone for wishing my family was Jewish so our bloodline would've ended in WW2, all the while they had a literal swastica as their PFP and I daren't repeat the name here less I risk a genuine ban, all for them to have the same name and PFP a month later. Same profile.

OP is not a mental health professional and should not deal with this.

Thats precisely what we are doing, however we cannot play with him in a regular game which sucks. He bought the game to play with us, not with randoms.

Then what you can do is create another steam account, link the game to it and you will have a new DBD profile with a noob MMR.

But honestly, it won’t help him much because that’s my friend did with me and what happened was that he was looping the killer for 5 gens while I was holding m1 on gens and the 2 others Meg / Claudette were hiding in lockers.

I did not learn much. Training in 1vs1 is the best solution.

  • Few ideas :

    • lower your MMR if it’s too high to have fun no matter what
    • do silly challenge : like tunneling to death the obsession ; going for bleeding out only kills (you will have to play perks like knock out…) ; chest protector, ect…these can help lowering your MMR too.
    • play fun builds : my fav perks are plaything and spies from the shadows even tho they are trash
    • lower your expectations : at some point, 2k is a good result with weak killers. If you did 2k with Trapper for exemple at decent MMR, it’s great !
  • @Vampwire said:

I would advocate this if it weren't for the fact that some killers put you in lose/lose scenarios without DH. I think if DH were to get nerfed that would need to be addressed as well. I'm by no means saying that it's balanced or healthy. But many of the good survivors run it expecting these sorts of situations. i.e a ranged killer is going to barely clip you after turning a corner, zoned out by an ability, trying to not get hit through a window 1 second after vaulting. Some may say that these are deserved, but I disagree. The killer will eventually gain enough distance on you that those abilities are unavoidable. And it doesn't take as long as you would think. And zoning is not a playstyle that should be promoted. It eventually becomes less of a skillful play and more "no you can't do x because I can do y". Equally comparable to DH, maybe even stronger as it doesn't require a perk slot.

Balancing every single killer power to account for this would be very hard and would probably take a long time. But if we truly want a "balanced" dbd, or as close as we can get to one, then we need to account for both parties.

That’s how the game is supposed to be played. You are not supposed to connect all loops and stay alive in a dead zone. You should die if you are a dead zone.

I swear you guys are so used to this OP perk that you have lost touch with balance.

    @Marigoria said:

Sure, do the same with noed on the same weekend.

The huge majority of killers would trade noed deleted for dead hard. Noed is not played that much at medium to high MMR. It’s only a noob stomper.

  • So you want to face weak killers ? Nope, ain’t going to happen.

The solution is to go in private lobby and explain to him how to loop and where the gens are for each map. As my friends did to me.

  • I have a lot of friends who are survivor only main and never touched a killer in 3000+h. So, no.

  • @Nos37 said:

When you suggest they just work on the gen in your face, effectively giving up and losing so every one can move on...

Why not do the same, as killer? Why not go AFK in the corner for 2 minutes and let them escape so you could all move on?

Do you see the double standard you suggest?

The killer is doing his objective, not the survivors. Hiding for more than 10min is not doing your objective.

You can report them for holding the game hostage.

FYI, a killer holding the game hostage would be :

    • bodyblocking a survivor in a corner all game

And that’s it. Killers have no other way to prevent the game to be played. In every other situation, survivors have the possibility to work on gens and escape.

  • You really have to use your power and get value to make a difference at some point. If you keep getting looped, you are going to get very few kills, to zero at high mmr.

  • It’s a strat. It’s not bannable at all and if you start playing by the survivor rulebook, you are never going to have fun as killer.

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

The “counter” completely falls apart if just 1 survivor isn’t aware or doesn’t care.

No, she can’t get a 4k, but she shouldn’t even get 1k because she’s standing still. She’s done even less than a facecamping Bubba. She did nothing but bring a single add-on, as is near guaranteed a kill because of that alone.

add.: Actually, it’s theoretically possible to 4k doing this. Exceptionally unlikely, sure, but not impossible.

I understand the standing still argument. But, is it less cheap than face camping with booba insidious, proxy camping with double range nurse, or blight ? I am main nurse, and I have way cheaper strats than this.

    • If 1 survivor is not aware, it’s low MMR. It is sad but nothing can be done here, he has to learn the game. The same way survivors have to learn how to escape a nurse, use windows against booba, ect…
    • if he doesn’t care he is throwing the game. The same way he would be throwing by not doing gens, doing unsafe unhook, ect…

Stating a fact isn't an insult. A killer shouldn't get a kill by being afk. Just because you disagree with this, doesn't mean I main something else, sweetie.

You implied I was "delusional", "dumb", and I had the intelligence of a "2 year old" because I don’t agree with you.

This is the forum of DBD, not your typical end game chat where you are free to be toxic and rude without consequences.

    I did read the thread.

You shouldnt get a kill by being afk. Even a 2 year old is capable of understanding this concept.

Your insults tell me enough about who you really main.

  • We already told you what the counter is. Read the thread. She can’t get 4k playing this way.

If you think the game should be balanced around 0k, 4 escape, then all of what you are saying makes sense.

Red addons should be rare, but they are not.

And there's a big difference between something being strong, and something having no counter.

Lmao excuse-me, red addon pig has no counter. I forgot she is a god tier, game breaking meta killer, the queen of DBD.

Oh wait, she is not. She is trash and only good against baby survivors in low ranks where she grabs them off gens.

I am not pushing for Killer Nerfs. But something like equipping an Add-On and going "afk" in front of a Box should not be a thing. And there is a difference between strong and unhealthy - this is clearly unhealthy, even if it is not strong.

And if the Devs decide to nerf the Add-On because of it, Killers should at least blame those who exploited it.

If she is AFK like you said, all you have to do is 99% the gen, pop them and solve the boxes together.

Maybe someone will not make it, which is OK, it’s a red addon after all, sorry you did not get that 4 man escape. And yes, it’s RNG, but a lot is RNG in this game anyway.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2894101#Comment_2894101

Except when using the Videotape, she does not even have to put a Trap on their Head. All Survivors start with a Trap attached to their head and they have to complete a Gen at some point to actually have a chance for the game to end.

This is just a cheap "strategy". And I hope it will be changed at some point, however, I already expect a lot of Killer players complaining about a Pig-Nerf because of "crying Survivors" if they nerf the Videotape somehow to avoid this "playstyle". Because in the end, those people exploiting it by blocking a Box at the start without any intention to move from it are those who might get a good Pig Add-On nerfed.

It’s a red addon. It’s supposed to be strong and rare.

It’s unreal you keep pushing for killer nerfs, especially on a trash tier killer like Pig meanwhile the devs are thinking about introducing bots to compensate for the lack of killers.

  • You don't have to play this game you know. If it's become too much and unbearable, swap to something else with good vibes like Minecraft.

  • It's her power. She has to put a trap AND someone has to finish a gen AND she has to know it's this box exactly. Sorry but she deserves the kills, they are no free escapes.

  • As survivor :

    I hate :

    • Claudette : they are always extremely selfish, not doing anything useful, being extremely inefficient (hiding in lockers, walking / running on the map like a zombie. They run selfish perks and will unhook you in front of the killer without BT.
    • Mickaela : they will spent the whole trial looking for boons instead of trying to win.

    I like anyone else.

    As killer :

    I hate :

    • Nea : they always try to bully and DC when they get destroy by me on nurse
    • Bunny Feng : another kind of Nea
    • Green pyjama Zarina : another kind of Nea
    • Pyjama Dwight : another kind of Nea
    • Ash or Jonah : always a woman in their 30s or 40s streaming on twich playing them with off meta perks, doing unsafe unhook or simply playing bad and complaining when I don’t give hatch or play "nice".

  • @Bwsted said:

No. The bug is that she's traveling quicker on the shorter distance too, currently. Full charge blinks work correctly. Less than full charge ones don't, as the speed is not being calculated proportionally, she just goes mach speed.

She is supposed to travel quicker on the shorter distance because of proportionality. If she is faster on max distance, she will be on short distance too compared to no addons.

  • I hope the speed stay the same and it is intended because somehow it makes sense to have the same time for a max range.

  • This era is over, move on. You being "og" doesn’t mean you have a better opinion.

  • Nah it's still very rare.

  • S: Deadlock is not S anymore, we have better perks. This perk requires you to lose a gen, which is bad. Everything else is OK, even if I would not have put them in that order (but I am not going to criticize that).

A : Dead Man Switch is S (it's always paired with Pain Resonance). Devour is a bad perk and is D in my opinion (or maybe C for Demo with the addon that reveals auras near portals but that's niche). Even bad survivors will cleanse it at some point, and if they don't they would have lost otherwise because they are bad survivors. Pentimento is bad in my opinion and is C tier at best. Undying is very overated, I would put it in C tier too because one more hex means they will find it too (Ruin alone is better than Ruin + Undying imho, if they cleanse Ruin they will cleanse Undying fast anyways - at some point survivors become very efficient to destroy your totems fast).

B : BBQ is A in my opinion, it is a good info perk overall revealing where they are or if they are close and pairs well with Dead Man Switch (for exemple you can force them off gens when you know which gens are being worked on - it is also very good to find injured survivors). As much as I like Franklin, it's D tier imho : the best use would be to get rid of medkit, but does that really matter in a cercle of healing meta ?

--- For the rest I am not going to comment weak perks, only perks I think belong in a higher rating ---

Starstruck is A tier imho, just because it's good on nurse. It is also a passive counter to bodyblocking.

C : Agitation is at least B tier because it's a passive counter to bodyblocking and pairs well with Pain resonance or Starstruck. Force penitance and Make your choice would be B in my opinion because they are almost good on some killers (Twins for Penitance and Hag / Sadako for Make your choice).

D : Shadowborn has some uses for Nurse and Blight so it would be C for me.

Remove omegablink and double recharge, and increase her fatigue after a miss attack so that there's more counterplay

Might as well introduce her as the 5th survivor who helps you do gens with this kind of nerfs nobody would ever play her.

Without addons, she is very easy to juke and escape. I know I mastered nurse myself, but I have never struggle against a nurse without addons, I can litteraly keep them busy for 5 gens. Basic blinks are slow and if you add the fatigue, she is not even that fast.

With addons she is a threat, but that is how every killer should be.

  • @bestWWneverlose said:

Hey is there any Artist main who would like to help me out or has some tipps how to use her power in certain spots?

Her power is used to shut down loops and force survivors to run into your crows or leave and get m1 anyway. If you use dead man switch with that playstyle that’s very strong.

  • She has a lot of style but is weak against survivors with more than half a brain.

They will genrush you and then all cleanse together, making your power useless. They will milk everyloop and then hide behind pallets / walls to avoid the red puke and stun you / cancel your power.

Also the maps are huge, she has no mobility, the survivors dictate what you can do. If you don’t use Corrupt Intervention, you will lose minimum 1 to 2 gen, even 3 if they are split.

Does than sound fun to you ?

  • You don't have to tunnel or camp as Spirit to win. Any other killer witthout mobility against SWF, you have to sometimes.

  • Nurse is one of the least played killer and has the lowest kill rate. If anything, she needs a buff.

I mean, the totem spawns are RNG, most totems are great, some are bad, this specific one is actually one of the better ones in general as its in a corner that survivors dont look for when searching for totems. You'd have to come from 1 specific angle, in a low traffic area. A bad totem is one that has many angles and is in a high traffic area.

Again, you are just mad that you didnt get the value you wanted from the hex totem, even though you clearly did get quite some value out of it, just not the value you wanted.

I shoud add that this totem was next to the stairs too. So not really a low trafic area.

  • I don’t mind Lerry. Ar least it doesn’t have so many layers like Bahdam.

And if the basement is in the middle, it is not very hard to defend.

  • None, I would only let Jeff go.

  • I would say I am very merciful. If you are saying "no" on the ground and you were not toxic I will pick you up and give you the hatch or let you do all the gen with the rest of the team (if they tried their best and were not toxic either).

  • He said 5 slots with limitations of how strong each perk is. Maybe read past the title. I would prefer 6 slots with :

    • 2 slowdown max
    • 2 info max
    • 2 utility max (franklin, noed…)
  • @Sepex said:
