So you just continue to misunderstand how the strategy works, refuse to watch any video showcasing how it works, and then claim I’m the one being stubborn. Got it.
I know how the strategy works. I used it myself for many and many hours. It's not impossible to counter, but you refuse to listen. Try it yourself and you will see, survivors will still find a way to do the gens. They will bait your crows, put you on a long cooldown, loop you forever, or do gens that are underground or above. And girl, if you don't have Corrupt, you will start the trial at 3gens, not 5. Good luck winning that.
Her antiloop is not that strong, if you hold W and go from pallets to pallets you can run her for a LONG time while preserving pallets, because as soon as she summons a crow SHE IS SLOW AF, all you have to do is flee to another pallet, and worse case scenario you get swarmed.

Again, you need to watch the video I posted.
I won't watch your video. I could make any killer look OP on a video. They are counters, you refuse to listen to them. Half the maps have verticality and she can't do anything about it.

Zoning you in a dead zone with crows?
Nothing else to go? Are you understanding now...? Or should I explain more.
You are supposed to run at another pallet. With her cooldown, it's a waste of time for her.

Again, watch a video of a killer doing it. You stay off a gen during the carry (which is already slowing down your progress), and wait for the first crow to fly by. You get on the gen, a few seconds later another crow. You work through it, a third crow and now the gen is blocked for the rest of the duration and all you’ve gotten done on it so far is the time between the first and third crow at most. Meanwhile a survivor is at least stage two or worse dead on hook.
So she has to use all her crows on 1 gen far away that is going to be blocked and not regress, meanwhile the others can rescue and do others gens.
She is not Bubba you know, face camping won't work against good survivors, you can rescue at any moment with BT. And if you do it before DMS end, she won't get another DMS and now you can genrush as much as you want.

Artist is fine with the sole exception of Dead Man’s Switch and her ability to force survivors off gens at unlimited range. If she gets a nerf it would probably be to limit the range she can damage a survivor to reduce the effectiveness of that combo. (They could probably limit her crow damage range to 30 meters and she’d still be just as powerful as normal outside of that Dead Man’s Switch combo.)
Flight Path crow is 7.5m, she is will not inflict any damage past this, except if you are already swarmed (and it takes few seconds to remove the swarm).
I mean...do you guys really understand how her power works before asking for nerfs ?
-
@WesCravenFan said:
Okay. I'll bite.
What IS the counterplay to Artist?
You know, aside from just running in a straight line and hoping she decides you are not worth the time investment?
As soon as she summons the bird, hold W to another pallet. You will have enough distance to make it and you did not waste the pallet.
Also yes, the bird hitbox is awful it’s very easy to bait.
The Artist is strong because survivors are bad, same thing with Pinhead. Try to do this 50 winstreak yourself and come back to tell us how you did.

Playing Vommy Mommy to have fun and I get this.

Killer with range ability and zone control should be 110. Quite obvious
But we better nerf COH for the 4th time
Her "range ability" doesn't injure past short distance. What is her "zone control" exactly ?
-
Good survivors won’t tap the gen. The regression from PR is slow, it’s not worth having the gen being poped.
-
I am so sorry for what happened, solo survivor can be hard. Sometimes you will get potatoes in your team, when it happens I just try my best…
-
You cannot combine Pain Resonance and Pop because you need a non damaged gen to pop it

I love getting druged by a Clown it's so fun

Which is what validation compensated for, but it doesn't anymore in my experience.
No, validation is not meant to compensate lag on the survivor side.

The situation where a hit survivor skips the falling animation and slides on the floor. It was typical of failed DHs pre-validation era.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2904526#Comment_2904526
I'm not in denial of anything. If your experience is different, feel free to share. It's a discussion forum. Resorting to strawman arguments doesn't advance the conversation.
That’s lag.

I don't, but as I pointed out that was probably a very odd occurrence and maybe not worth too much attention. I included it but I was unsure if it was relevant.
Otoh, the sliding on the floor is very common.
What do you mean by "sliding on the floor" exactly ?
-
DH validation has been already heavily shadownerfed. I'm not talking about the visual and audio feedback. I'm talking about actual hit registration. Survivors are back to sliding on the floor when being hit. I've personally downed one person visibly mid-animation, which should've not happened on my screen (it was probably still a very odd occurrence)Do you have any proof of that ? Recorded gameplay ?
For these reasons, considering I feel we're essentially in the same situation as pre-validation, I don't foresee any further changes to the perk itself. You are in denial.

Deadlock requires you to lose a gen, it’s bad.

You think Artist is better than Spirit???
Yes. The Artist has antiloop and can secure downs, with DMS she can block all gens and secure kills. Her power is in her own hands and cannot be countered by survivors (except Dead Hard but it's the same for all killers).

All of them unless they have tools that help them 4k literally every single game e.g. Nurse and Blight.
Not really TheGannMan.
I would say :
- S tier : the killer can use his power in chases instead of being looped the traditional way, reducing the time to get downs. The killer power is not in the survivors hands. The killer also has mobility to patrol gens.
- A tier : the killer can use his power in chases, instead of being looped the traditional way, reducing the time to get downs. The killer power is not in the survivors hands. The killer has no mobility (that’s why they are not S tier).
- B : the killer can use his power in chases, but his power can be 100% countered by survivors, in the end the chase can last as long as a traditional loop, or even longer. The killer can have some form of mobility.
- C tier : the killer power is very weak, the survivors have to make huge mistakes for the killer ton get value. The killer has no mobility.
Spirit is now B tier. Her power can be 100% countered by good survivors, considering how much info she gives for free, and she still have some mobility.
Who is in A tier above her ? I would say The Artist, Pyramidhead for exemple.

Ok
And why do you think you're at high MMR?
Because you camp and tunnel for the 3K/4K?
If I have to, yea. You know you are high MMR when :
- You have to play meta perks otherwise you will get gen rush. I am talking about all gens done in 4-5min max.
- There is no way to play hexes, they will all be removed in less than 30s.
- All survivors have meta perks. Everyone, no exception has dead hard. The rest should be one of these perks : BT, DS, UB, IW, CoH, sometimes WoO
- BNP, or offerings are not rare.
- All the survivors know how to loop perfectly. They will always lead you to strong tiles and milk each pallet to the last drop. They will use dead hard to connect loops if they have to.
- You can’t bait out dead hard. When you are close to a survivor, you don’t ask "Dead Hard ?" but "Auto dead hard ?”
- Because you encounter a lot of cheaters. A lot of VAC ban in the lobby, subtle cheats you notice when you have enough experience.
- Despite all of this, you still manage to get consistent wins.
-

Whatever, no matter what we do it’s a lose lose. People think she’s trash now and so no one except for me and like 6 other people actually play her, so that’s just depressing. If we buff her in this way we will for certain go back to the good ole “nerf Spirit” threads that I’ve gotten sick of. No matter what, there’s just division in the community based off her position.
She is not trash, she is just average now. Any average killer can do well in good hands, I just don’t want to hear the S-tier bs anymore.
She used to be fun, not because she was strong, but because you could do silly stuff like grab people off gens, get back to a hook fast without them knowing, or stand still. Also you could play her without addons and do well, which attracted a lot of new players.

Once again people make mistakes.
MMR is not the answer so stop using it as a reason.
Your MMR is the reason you don’t understand why dead hard is a problem. You are playing at a level where survivors have no idea how to use this perk.
And that is the whole problem of this discussion. If you are not in high MMR, you don’t know what you are talking about.
-
Don’t listen to that nonsense ! Hope you live a long and healthy life.

Wouldn't be used as SWF would downvote the killer.
There would be no way to "downvote". Either you give the bonus BP, or you don’t. Not giving it would not change anything about the outcome of the match or the amount of BP earned by the killer / survivors.
-
A lot of cheaters these days, not a good idea to use hexes.
I would stick with Pain Resonance / DMS + another regression if you need more (Pop / Corrupt / No way out + Noed).
-
Cheating epidemic.
-
You guys are really pessimistic…as survivor I think I would probably endorse about 80% of my killers. Because most of the time, they are not meta, they try until the end even when it’s looking bad for them from the beginning, or they get treated poorly by the other survivors and I just want a way to say thank you that have an impact, not just words.
As killer I think I would endorse at least one survivor. Most of the time it would be these 2 last survivors that go for unhook, being altruistic instead of hiding for the hatch. Even if I am matched against a toxic team, most of the time there is at least one survivor that is playing with good vibes that I can thank for.

My whole post was a response to "just manipulate sound".
Also survivors who had no iron will were affected by Stridor, it made them even easier to hear, it made doing the little crouch technique worthless.
And no, I don't consider spirit unfair anymore - because I actually have something to work with. They have a sound cue (Me being injured) and I have a sound cue (Phasing). Whoever wins, wins.
Again nice of you to pass judgement on my gameplay without even having seen it, much appreciated. Shame I wasn't asking for your opinion on how I spend my time with the game.
You forgot to mention that you know exactly WHERE Spirit is when she is phasing you can see it (dust) and hear it around you. Meanwhile, if you are healthy, she has no idea where you are, and if you are injured with iron will, she still has no idea.
I am more of a survivor main these days, but let’s be honest and cut the cr*p : she is weak.
If I want speed I will play Blight, I don’t need a killer with a power that makes me blind and deaf while giving them a ton of info.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
I don't think rewarding should be decided by either party. You'd basically have people saying "You get no reward blah blah blah" as a new form of being a jerk.
On the contrary, the major point of this system would be to have killers and survivors sharing good vibes and rewarding each others, instead of staying stuck in a defeat / toxic mindset "us vs them".
I am positive that getting 0k 4 escape as killer but getting endorsed by the whole team, granting you +100% BP is a better experience than getting the same result without any other reward. At least you know they had fun and they thank you for that.
Of course it won’t erase all the toxicity…
-
Because she is overrated. She is easy to counter, bring Iron Will or camp pallets and stun her. Or simply walk.

- No one can see MMR, so how can I show exclusively “high mmr” matches
- I never said I was unbelievably good, my point was the exact opposite, I’m average and can still succeed with Nurse.
- I can record games, but it has nothing to do with my point. I’m an average player and can win games just playing my normal style, in match made public games, so anyone can do so as well. You don’t NEED all the best add ons, perks, perfect reactions and timing, since she ignores most of the survivors defenses against a killer. Range add ons remove THE biggest counter to poor blinks, which is distance.
- Continue to be a salty troll
Can you have consistent wins with the range addons or not ?
First you say she is easy to pick up, you did it under 5 hours. Then you say you are only average with her, not that good...I mean, do you really understand this killer ? Because, it seems you have a lot to learn.

You forgot cheaters at high MMR

Thats being extremely hyperbolic. I have maybe a 50 hours on her, and can have success vs most players. She isn’t that hard to learn, it took me maybe 5 hours to get a handle on her, and I’m very average mechanically. Pretty much everything you said isn’t true, she doesn’t take a god gamer to play her, just a basic understanding of her and the game’s mechanics, and ok execution.
Show us gameplay footage of you getting a huge winstreak with nurse at high MMR.
-
The best perks are not on licenced killers.

Let's see:
- Killer is deciding to slug you.
- You down in boon area or near them.
- Killer is not hearing boon's voice.
- Killer is deciding to do not snuff boon.
And yey you have value from this perk.
Looks so situational and bad to me.
You need a SWF sabo squad to make it work, but it’s very strong. You have to snuff it or that girl is going to get up. You can’t hook because sabo. And if you snuff it, someone is going to pick her up anyways. Also the boon is going to get relit.
-
They don’t want :
- players to have a competitive mindset (but let’s be honest, not showing the MMR doesn’t prevent that at at all).
- to show the flaws of the matchmaking (it would be obvious how wrong it is if we could see someone high MMR against someone low MMR)
- to show the lack of balance between killers
- that long term players realize they are still bad at this game after all this time.
- to increase the hacking/cheating epidemic
-
@TruEternity said:
I’m no Nurse main by any stretch, but I do have a bit of experience on her and I agree. The value you can get from the range add ons is overtuned and I’m not sure why they kept it in her rework. I do appreciate the work put in to get some raw numbers to back up the claims.
It’s late and I’m tired but I will say if anyone’s counterpoint is Nurse is hard to play, or her stats are bad, or there are more broken things in the game I think you missed the point. The unanimously agreed best killer should not have an add on that removes the one consistent counter to her power, it is bad for the game.
The best killer on the game…at very high MMR…for a tiny minority of players…that have thousand of hours on her….having perfect muscle memory…making NO MISTAKES…using both range addons…using the best perks too…on a good map…against survivors that make 0 effort to break line of sight and counter her.

You'd be surprised. Last Saturday out of 7 solo queue games, 3 were blights, 2 were nurses. ALL of them had either corrupt/pop, PR/Pop, PR/DMS.
I can't physically understand how this is fun for them - having short games with people giving up immediately (me for starters because I honestly can't be bothered). But if they want to play like that, there's nothing we can do about it. When I play nurse though, I really hate using strong stuff and my go-to perk is Surge so I can just avoid kicking gens and get free blood points. Honestly I would hate seeing it removed from my options
However, I agree with what @Brokenbones said in his comment (I read it after replying to you)
In general, I'd be ok with the change if they buffed Surge to not count for M1s only. Just don't take it away from me
On the contrary, we play PR/DMS to avoid having short games. See this very far gen you know 2 survivors are trying to repair asap, with PR/DMS you can block it and make it explode. With any other gen regression, you may not have the time to defend it.
Also, my favorite part of DBD is chasing, and kicking a gen for pop or defending my ruin is annoying. With PR/DMS I don’t have much to do, it’s a passive.
-
The problem with this playstyle is that games can be very very long…
I got to a point where I would get 8 hooks at 4-5 gens, and then slug them all. After that, you have to pick them up, let them heal, and do the gens. Sometimes they would DC before, or hide in lockers afraid to be killed.
The good thing is that you get a lot of +rep lol.
-
She is very strong with Dead man switch and Pain resonance. You can block all gens after a hook for 45s. It takes 60s to go next hook stage so they have only 15s to prevent it if you decide to tunnel / camp (if you have a mori, that person is dead). It’s very very strong. Add BBQ for the points and info (which gen to shot at) and Corrupt for the early game and you got a solid antiloop, antigenrush, tunneling killer.
-
As a killer main I started getting suspicious after I got at least 300-400 hours on my account. The main cheats I notice are :
- auto dead hard, especially on m1 killers it’s very obvious. Against my Nurse or Blight I will give you the benefit of the doubt, but against my Artist, there is no way you can be that lucky when you evade so many m1 after I tried to "bait it out" multiple times.
- running speed cheats.
- vanishing / teleportation cheats. When an injured survivor completely disappear in a dead zone leaving no blood, no marks, no sound / crying (and he doesn’t have iron will). These are the most frustrating.
-

When did we start using data ta mark balance. If that’s the case then pinhead is the best killer in the game
And that’s why he got nerfed by the devs.
-
It’s funny because Starstruck is only good against low to mid MMR survivors. At high MMR, it would be throwing to play this perk : survivors are going to split and hide immediately. Also, it is played with Agitation and Infectious Fright most of the time, so you are basically playing with only 1 perk left when it’s countered.
But let’s go, let’s nerf Nurse so she can’t play Starstruck (snowball build) or Noed (end game build) leaving us no choice to tunnel with a regression build at high MMR. I don’t really mind.
-
@Lemonwolf said:
That is most likely the most theoretical "please nerf Nurse" thread i have ever seen.
All these numbers and stuff.......its way too theoretical.
It doesnt factor in the human equation on both sides.
People dont play like machines or perfect AI bots.
But i am sure this thread among others will be at some point the nail in the coffin for Nurse.
If enough people complain about her BHVR will nerf her.
I can already see how this might turn out. Best case scenario for Nurse after the nerf?
Imagine playing her with matchbox and the addon that makes her a 115% M1 killer for 60 seconds.
This could be the future Nurse with best addons.
And even then people would still complain. She can teleport through things, so unfair........
I don't think she will be nerfed again, simply because she has bad stats. She is a very niche killer right now. OP can argue as much as he wants, and describe her bad stats as "dumb comments", it's the reality.
Nobody cares that in theory, you have this insane speed and you should not miss any blink, because in reality, nurses do miss, even with these "broken" addons and survivors do escape. We are not bots, we don't have wall hacks or enchanced sound. We do a lot of mistakes, and sometimes lose way too much distance or even the whole chase because of the fatigue and slow movement.
You don't balance a game around how bots making no mistakes would play the game in a perfect world. Remember they nerfed Pig and Pinhead because of stats.

After 2 hours you are still low MMR, against baby survivors. Do at least 50 4k and then come back.
