There was a time where every survivor ran selfcare, DS, and SB.
CoH? Not an issue for me.

Same company.

It's current year!

i would say that it's pretty easy to justify DCing against someone who is abusing a pretty huge bug
Which they stated wasn't being abused and other killers were also being played.

Stand still and point at hook.
I make sure those types bleed out under that hook.

Are you saying this is one big BHVR experiment?

You realize that actually proves the point even more right? Lol. She was launched 1 year after the game released yet is still on pace to easily surpass all of the day-one characters AND still taking the spotlight away from other characters that have gone untouched for hundreds of days at a time (confirmed)
Its 2023 and only a week ago they JUST conceded the fact that they were neglecting characters and that they’ll be implementing a new cosmetic strategy. Feng treatment was 100% ridiculous and that’s why they caved to the feedback
Cosmetics were mostly DLCs and event codes for years. BHVR didn't go strong into cosmtics until much later.

Sorry that you were fooled into believing Starstruct is this way because of Nurse.

I mean, all of them either are bad or need an entire build around them.
Overzealous makes you waste more time than the benefit it gives you
Hyperfocus needs another perk and preferably high rarity itens and add-ons to be worth it
Quick gambit is a killer perk if not in a 2 floor map and not playing against Nurse
And new one is Deja Vu but worst. "Oh but both survivors get the boost and last 15 more seconds", well doesn't mater because Deja vu helps break 3 gens and gives the boost for free
Friendly Competition: Whenever you finish Repairing a Generator with at least one other Survivor, this Perk activates. You and other Survivors who finished Repairing the Generator with you get 5% increased Repair progress speed for 45/60/75 seconds. Survivors can only have one instance of this Perk's ability active at once.
How is this Deja Vu?
-
Friendly Competition and Prove Thyself.
Sure, buff the gen rush but nerf the gen regression. Never change BHVR.

We should revert the change and back to relying on the progress bar.

I've noticed, unlike the old forums, clicking on one notification doesn't clear the others. You have to click on each one. Also have you checked your profile comments (that still a thing?)? Maybe someone left you a message there.

Unless it's to give a teammate a chance at hatch, it's a selfish act and I dislike it from both sides. The absolute worse being those that throw a tantrum if rescued in time.

I think some people have a misunderstanding what hug tech is and will be disappointed if/when it's "fixed".

Have you tried moving away from the loop?

Why PWYF is a requirement.

The Entity knows what you want and feeds off your suffering. When you're about to give up, it gives you your desire to implant false hope that the next web will be better too.

Don't believe the animation time is getting changed just the cooldown. As for abuse, you aleady have a survivor tailing you with a flashlight, why not reset pallets too?

This is not the exhaustive list of perk changes, there will be more in other patches. This one we felt it important to address what was happening with Eruption.
Any Means Necessary though? Couldn't that wait until the Mid-Chapter?

That’s why I said realistically, not at all. I know it takes those things into account but realistically it’s not separate mmr’s. I do not want them starting at zero. Maybe 25-50% of normal would be better and I would call that “actual” separate mmr’s. It’s currently giving you a very high blend of your killers at base.
To say prestige like that does indicate skill or time spent “at all” is just objectively untrue. You can say it’s not a good indicator of skill but it does indicate a lot of time and time does have “some” correlation with skill.
This is just like saying mmr doesn’t indicate skill. It may not be very good at indicating skill, but it does indicate “some” level of skill. “At all” or “nothing” is quite finite words.
People grow at different rates and few just play casually over 6 years.

Unfortunately it’s because we realistically don’t have separate killer mmr’s even though that’s how it was originally hyped up when we were told it was coming. Even on a killer you’ve never played you’ll still get thrown barely below your mains mmr. It’s so close that it’s essentially your mains mmr, especially feels like that way when you’ve barely played that killer. Wish we had actual separate mmr for killers, especially since that how was the whole reason we were prevented from switching killers in lobby anymore. Pretty sure most players felt duped on this one. I think it was talked about in one of the livestreams.
We do have separate mmr scores for each killer. But yes the starting score is based on the average mmr of your other played killers. I know what you mean here, you want a killer never played to start at the baseline. Unfortunately that has negative consequences for new players during new chapters. Plus it was tried during early MMR tests which didn't turn out well.
One thing to note, while your MMR is based of other killers at the start. Your score drastically changes based on you first few matches. So while you can start at the top, a few losses would plunge you to mid faster than normal.
-
Bad night?
-
I've seen P100 play like beginners. Prestige that high just means they dump all there BP in one character.
-
Think of all those brown addons you'll never use and feel better.
-
When a survivor is hit they lose colision with the killer. If a survivor runs up or behind the killer for the pallet save. The killer can hit the survivor to move freely outside the pallet's hitbox. The killer has to be barely in the pallet to begin with.
-
Hags? Really? 😮
-
Have the feeling you're over commiting to loops. If the Knight stands at the window and goes into their power, run out the door. The power action is televised and takes time. The patch drawing takes time. The guard spawning takes time and even if it spots you it goes through a battle cry animation. Really, you should be halfway down the hallway.

I did. Nothing you mentioned in it said anything about the offerings they brought, or perks they used. And you didnt have a match record to check if they may have scouted out hatch locations with the exploit I mentioned while you were killing the other 2.
Aside from your guesses, based on rough estimates, you don't have any hard evidence to suggest cheating.
They have the recording of the 2nd match which was mentioned in this thread.

I'm sure you're scenario happens, the question is how frequently. DC penalties didn't happen because of people with emergencies. They happened because people abused it.
Why do you get punished for a legit disconnect? Because the world is full of whiney children.
As an example. Where I work, if you are an hourly employee and have to leave for any reason, you get a point on your attendance record. For a short time their was a policy that if you left and brought back a doctor note the point would be removed.
What ended up happening was a handful of people would download fake doctor notes from the internet and gamed the system.
So what happened? Instead of dealing with the small group of people that were doing it, the policy got changed and now if you have a doctor appointment you get the point anyway.
Addition, if they truly DC because of an emergency the penalty should expire by the time they return. If the penalty is too long, they should evaluate why their life is full of emergencies.

For a former proponent, I'm surprised this version is what causes you to say it's a problem.

It's been broken since 6.5.0. Basically it just randomly does the wrong thing: lights up when it shouldn't, doesn't light up when it should, turns off when it shouldn't, doesn't turn off when it should. It's unpredictably broken as to be completely useless as you can't trust the information it gives you.
At times it shouldn't, does the Entity still speak little nothings in your ear?

What would you consider giving alternatives, because I was under the impression the new killer meta was like that, but I suppose you are right that if you run something into the ground something else will take it's place. Though I don't really like the alternatives to slowdown the devs added as they kind of got really old really fast.
Also I just feel like perks like dead hard and eruption are both just not really well-designed perks in general..
There have been some examples of poor perk design. DS, MoM, and Dead Hard. Out of these three only one survived its changes because its the only one that's still useful.
DS, stun is too short.
MoM, just bad design
DH, no more distance but require timing to be effective.
To remove DH you would have to make it useless. To reduce its use, you have to provide perks that actually do something.
Now that something should not be brain dead push button = win. But something that requires timing and narrow use.
As for killer perks, they already suffered this burried into the groung problem. Most on release. I was going through perks the other day to do a Freddy daily. I had a hard time finding any decent perks outside slowdown and auras. Variety is the spice of life and killers perks are all salt.

Ok. Let me give you two scenarios.
Scenario A: You spawn in head to a gen and are found by the killer within 30-40 seconds. Short chase, you are hooked. After about 45 seconds your team saves you but the killer immediately tunnels you and slaps you right back on the hook. Same thing happens again and you are out of the game.
Scenario B: You spawn in head to a gen and are found by the killer within 30-40 seconds. Chase, hooked, blah blah blah, but this time the killer goes for someone else when you are unhooked. You get away, heal, get a rescue, maybe get a gen. Killer eventually finds you again, chases, hooks. Again you are saved and the killer leaves you be for now. You get a gen, do some healing, etc. Killer finds you a third time, chases and hooks you and you are now out of the game.
Which scenario do you think most people will find more fun?
Let me put on my rose color glasses and read it again.

My one complaint with the perk is that the meta change didn't solve its overuse for a month, it was barely used, but now it's back to being overly used, which I just find so boring. I have the same feeling going against eruption 5th game in a row, and the meta is still really stale.
If you run it into the ground something else will take its place. Then you will be bored of that perk. Sometimes you have to give alternatives instead of always looking to bring something down.

Yes, we want survivors to die. You have method A and method B. Method A is more fun for most on both sides, but is less effective, method B is less fun but more effective. Let's make it so the more fun method is also the more effective method.
Effective for one side will always be less fun for the other.
-
They don't want to chase you again?
-
In this context.
Killers don't want hook buffs. They want survivors to die.
