No. Perk was recently changed to a state where most players don't mind it anymore. You will find outliers still complaining but you see that with anything and everything DBD.

The bots are back! 😱

How did you get injured? Padded Jaws are meant to restrain, not to wound.

If they fix point 1, hopefully that removes point 2 as an issue.

From Old Freddy times but still relatable.

Based on what I've seen..
If it's original, I expect the vampire/vlad the impaler chapter.
If it's licensed, I expect FNAF.
I do think it being an original chapter is most likely though.
Instead of hooks survivors are put on pikes.

"And what did that do for us in a positive sense? Sure, the 1st time you reach it you feel like you accomplished something. But after it was a formality."
That's actually not an equal comparison as before rank 1 was the end, but you would not realistically be able to reach the MMR cap so you would not have that same experience of "reaching rank 1 and done".
"Because the rank didn't mean anything. It was how you played and many rank 1s played poorly."
To say it didn't mean "anything" is objectively false. Skewed? Yes. Nothing? No.
Just because many people at old rank 1 played poorly didn't change the fact that on average they played much better than lower ranks. Saying it didn't mean anything is a gross exaggeration.
"The two extremes will look different. A better example would be mid‐MMR and high MMR. Whatever that truly means."
Well first even if that was an extreme example difference, that is still you admitting that it does mean "something". So to say it means nothing you even agree is wrong.
Let's even take your example of mid mmr to high mmr. You think those will look the same? Anyone that plays in the higher mmr brackets can tell you they will not on average look the same. Can you get bad players in high just like mid? Sure, does that disprove the point? No, it doesn't. That would be like saying I know people who smoked their whole lives but were unaffected by cancer, that doesn't disprove that on average smoking is a leading cause of lung cancer.
There's always exceptions to generalities, but exceptions don't disprove the generalities.
A new player is worse than a vet. Yeah, you made your point.
Sounds to me you are looking for a goal. A finish line of sorts. Something that validates your investment in the game. Problem is, the MMR score is poor measuring stick. Best it can do for you is validate you're not a new player.

"Only real difference between the old rank based and new "skill" based is that one doesn't reset."
And that one we could actually see what our own "ranking" was, which is the entire point of what we're talking about.
"Are we trying to say DBD is equivalent to LoL? Would you say Plat in League is the same as High MMR in DBD? I doupt they are comparable because High MMR doesn't mean skillful."
Literally just comparable in having a rank system in which you can see your own rank, don't try to stretch "comparable" past the point I'm making. I wouldn't say "plat" is equivalent to high MMR in DBD as you're missing my entire point, the point is not whether you think the game is good at measuring balance with the MMR system, the point is that you can see where you're at, if you're improving and who your better killers are.
You are getting stuck in the conversation of whether MMR actually measures skill and that's not the conversation we're even having or is it relevant to the point I'm making. I agree MMR is very, very, very flawed in measuring skill but just like the old system we had, which was also very flawed, it still had "some" measure of skill as on average an old rank 1 would still play better than a lower rank player even if you did get lots of bad rank 1 players. On average it did show something.
"It doesn't matter what your MMR is because there are unskillful ways in achieving it. Camp the basement for 4k or 12 hook. In the end they are the same. Unless the score actually reflects skill, there is no point in knowing it."
You're confusing a system as showing literally "nothing" because it is very flawed. A system can be very, very flawed at showing skill and still simultaneously be representative of "some" skill. Even though we both agree MMR is bad at representing skill are you seriously going to tell me that you think a low mmr game and a high mmr game are "ON AVERAGE" going to look the same? Let's be real here.
And that one we could actually see what our own "ranking" was, which is the entire point of what we're talking about.

The last one showed you other peoples rank, seeing only your own MMR does not do that, completely different.
The equivalent to this would be like playing League except you can never see what grade you were in (bronze, silver, gold ect) which just sounds completely silly, you'd just be guessing "well I think I'm plat" rofl. Except in League not only do you see your own, but they even show others as well, not an issue their at all. Most games do that as well. However here I'm not even asking for that, just to see your own.
Only real difference between the old rank based and new "skill" based is that one doesn't reset.

The game has every flaw of using a competitive matchmaker whilst providing none of the benefits.
No rankings, no Killer specific rankings and nothing to compare yourself to.
However, we do get sweaty games and a split between people who want to play competitively and people who don't.
Prior Rank Based matchmaking was visible and we saw what came of that. Players would make it to Rank 1 and grow big egos. Then you had those that intentionally kept low ranks to bully the casuals and make YT montages.
The current system does have some of the same aspects, but without visual confirmation it cuts back on the narcissism. Nobody takes a person saying "High MMR" seriously.
I don't see the current system as a competitive one. It's more of a way to separate new and experienced players. A true competitive system would punished the skilled, at least in this game. If you ever rushed to rank 1 after a reset (rank based) you should know what that entails.

I have literally nothing to play for in a game that uses a competitive ranking system.
Yes, I'd play differently. Yes, I'd ask other people, I'd like to know how bad the matchmaker actually is.
Sounds like a personal issue, which is fine, I'm not faulting you on that. But my question centered on the "its hurting more than helping" aspect. Which to me is "not knowing is hurting the game than helping".
-
@Pulsar said:
Not seeing MMR is hurting more than helping at the moment.
How so? Would you play differently knowing your mmr was 1400 vs 1900? If you could see it, would you ask others to provide it?

It doesn’t matter how many buffs you give killer they will never be as strong as nurse.
How would you even buff them to make them strong while still keeping there identity? Twins are getting reworked next but sadly they might get the Freddy, Doctor treatment where they get completely redone.
And people are already saying knight needs a rework
Don't have strong tiles spawn next to each other would be a good start.

I've seen it with The Killer. You get the latency icon with the knife, and you can feel The Killer's lag, yet nothing is done. Every hit prevails. My fave is using Lithe, Dance With Me, and Quick & Quiet versus The Mastermind. You successfully use Lithe, have your three CDs, and then he uses Bound, and you're snapped back into the other side of the vault while Exhausted.
Yeah, I'm alluding to something sinister

From the video I watched, Adrenaline takes priority before the Terminus debuff. So you will heal a health state and get the speed boost, yes.
Not sure if its a legit bug but it didn't use to work this way prior to this patch.
Is that health state to full or off the ground to injured?
-
You've mistaken the process.
Solo is boosted to SWF and Nurse/Blight are lowered to Pig.
-
Don't expect the knight grab to be fixed until the next chapter.
Twins, maybe this year.
Terminus, does it still heal them to full? I've seen it give the speed boost but figured that was normal.

I have a hard time believing not many are iri 1 when in the last week I see way more players goofing off and playing meme builds because they're not playing for pips than I do builds geared toward winning/pipping. Last week feels more relaxed than rush for grade 1.
Did you know you can pip all the way up to gold without killing a single survivor? Think of your mmr being so low that you can coast your way to iri 1 on the backs of noob survivors.

It only subtracts like 25% from a gen. Why would they killswitch an entire status effect for that?
I dunno, because it isn't working correctly and is being abused by players to make unintended interactions?
You're equating 5s to 22s. Don't you find that to be disingenuous?
If the effect was the same as the last time it was bugged it would be killswitched.

If we just get rid of the Dead Hard for distance it will be balanced.

But that only matters if one gives a toot about MMR. Not everyone does. I don't.
You care if it gets too low that survivors are worse than bots or too high its like playing comp every match.

It is obvious when DC penalty is off, even when it only applies to a single platform. That is why I think removing negative pips would be fine. We already have the time close to grade reset when the most players are at Iri 1 and don't need to worry about pips. There is no obvious increase in hook suicides like there is DCs when DC penalty is off.
Not many are at grade 1 close to reset besides the ones that play everyday. I'd say the rush to grade 1 for most starts a week before reset.

you stated that games were easy because mmr decreases over time, to which I gave an example of a nurse at the beginning, but a nurse is like a red scarf for a bull for a survivor, so I changed to another wraith example that I also haven’t played for a long time, but at the same time I did not come across weak survivors
you stated that games were easy because mmr decreases over time,
You mistake me for another Nurse profile.
-
Here's the vicious cycle. The more you spare the new survivors the lower your MMR goes. The lower the MMR the more beginners you face.
At some point you will have to climb a mountain of noob corpes to reach experienced survivors again. It's best to play with them a little, let them "best" you at some loops, and sacrifice them to the spider. It's better for you and them in the long run.

I rarely play as a nurse, why don't weak players play against me then?
Are you saying other killers only get weak survivors? Only Nurse is capable of reaching the soft MMR cap?
-
basically the survivors died for extremely stupid reasons like when the gate was opened instead of escaping in three, the other two survivors went to the basement against the plague and of course died, but at that moment I already went out the gate
There's something in the survivor's mindset that prevents them from just leaving. If we can figure it out and cure it, we can save a lot of lives.

I absolutely agree, depipping needs to be removed.
For all who argue about that. Just imagine killers don't have to play sweaty every game. Reduced tunneling. Reduced camping.
It's a win-win for both sides.
That won't happen. Anyone that says they play sweaty in fear of depipping is lying to you. Put them at grade 1 against the most annoying SWFs and watch them sweat beads.

People kill themselves on first hook when they figure they're not going to get much BP and will lose a pip anyway in that match so may as well move onto next match faster in hopes it is better. Removing negative pips wouldn't make it go through the roof, if that was the case we'd see an increase in hook suicides closer to rank reset when most people have already made it to Iri 1 and don't have to worry about negative pips.
People DC when there's a penalty too. Doesn't mean there aren't those who don't because of it. It's very obvious when the penalty is off.
