I use Overcharge and Surveillance only on Doctor. It helps to stop gens a little bit. But I wouldn't use Overcharge on any other Killer. Surveillance is still good on a few Killers

@CallMeSpidey I love it as well, I am glad that it forces you to take hits for other survivors and not be rewarded for playing bad now, I will run the perk now because of the change
Yeah. The perk was literally like old DS just not that broken. You get rewarded for playing #########.

I haven't used enduring in awhile and learned to play without it, all I can say is this will mostly effect spirit fury builds as DS was nerfed.
R.I.P. Spirit Fury + Enduring Combo.
People don't have ears and don't listen when the devs say something in the stream, no wonder, the only thing people can do is salty'ing and crying around.
Enduring won't affect other stuns anymore but it will increase the recovery speed from pallet stuns more, so it'll buff Spirit Fury/Enduring combo. Idk where you came with "nerf"

I don't really care about Survivors cause they are same but I play Meg most of the time.
Killers:
Hag, Legion, Nurse
-
It should be when the last Survivor is alive while the Killer closes the hatch the gates should take 10 - 12 seconds instead of 20. And to prevent taking the hostage as Killer, I see a few people slugging the last Survivor till the timer runs out just to show their small D.
The last Survivor should have the option to end the timer and sacrifice himself immidiately to prevent this slugging

Press the second ability button to activate shadowborn
While Shadowborn is active you,
- move 30 % faster
- your field of view is increased by 10/12.5/15 degrees
- cannot attack
Press the second ability button again to deactivate the perk
- You will be fatiqued for 1.5 seconds after deactivating the perk

Remove Shadowborn and make Unrelenting his teachable instead. It literally has his weapon in the icon.
Unrelenting is also useless. I made a potential change to that one also:
- Your lunge attack speed is increased by 20/25/30 %
- Recovery from missed attacks is decreased by 30 %
So it's just an added mechanic to existing crap, which would make the perk better
-
I had this kind of idea:
- While out of a chase, your movement speed is increased by 20 %
- Your field of view is increased by 10/12.5/15 degrees
-
I use Distortion. I don't waste my time running to lockers to prevent BBQ and I can keep working on a gen without the Killer seeing me. So basically 1 Token gave me one gen for free, which is huge.
-
My first rework idea was:
When standing still for 10/8/6 seconds, your Terror Radius will be reduced to 0 for the next 25 seconds.
Can only be triggered every 60 seconds
-
Nurse needs a complete addon rework anyway.
She doesn't have pink addons and most addons mess up your muscle memory.
Additional blink addons and omega blinks are very strong. Using one range addon is okay or the yellow and brown one but omega blink is just unfair.
-
I'd rather get 500 k BP for reaching Lvl 100 than Auric Cells because I don't have a problem getting steam cards for Auric Cells.
-
I'd just punish players which dc with an 1 hour ingame ban so you can't play for the next hour.
People who dc because they have guests or something won't suffer from that since they won't be there for an hour anyway so that'd be a solution for the "Leave match" option. Idk what to do about the internet plug dc or if the devs can tell if someone plugged their internet.
-
Good idea but I doubt they will implement something like this in the near future. Skill checks and holding M1 becomes boring after a while, so minigames would be a good thing and those side effects.
-
I'd normally say Spirit. But with the recent sound bugs she has when phasing it takes out the mindgame potential. Also, chase music is ######### right now and footsteps are too quiet again.
Hag is way more tactical and is my 2nd Killer in fun potential.
-
Guys, I'll get you in mood. Show some leg. You like?

@NuclearBurrito said:
Which is why we don't want that. I just want to do proper mindgaming which REQUIRES unreliable information. Looping does not provide unreliable information since I know for sure where the Survivor is as the Killer (using scratchmarks and/or vision) and the Survivor knows where the Killer is (using 3rd person and/or red stain)
Therefor Mindgames cannot meaningfully occur most of the time while looping. Yes there are exceptions like a few loops in maps like Larry's as well as the entirety of the Spirit (who I main btw). But in general most loops occur in places where the Killer and Survivor have vision of each other.
Thus you aren't having any mindgames. Just routing.
Routing is also an adjustable thing and that's why I don't mind looping at all. As Killer I can adjust my movement and rooting (it's not that adjustable like mindgames but still is) and that's why I don't mind any loops which are fair. Unfair loops are a different story.
The only thing I get triggered is when I get punished for something I did well on.

"Everybody says that hitboxes are broken."
Im not trying to be mean with what Im gonna say but...
Most people who complain about hitboxes dont know how they actually work, if they did they would just use that information to ######### up the hit detection, something very easy to do which Im not gonna explain how to do It because it's stupidly unfair.
These people who complain about it tend to think that windows and pallets are save spots when that's not the case, if you get stucked in an animation your hitbox does as well and there's a little delay in which the hitbox follows your actual character model, that means that even if your feet has already touched the ground your hitbox might still be vaulting the window. It's not a hitbox issue, it's a mix between lag, animations and actual punishment if you try to go for a slow vault or you mess up a pallet drop (because those last 2 things actually make your hitbox stay attached to the window/pallet for a longer time).
Anyway, just wanted to say that hitboxes are completely fine, the problem is either actual punishment (slow vaults or mistime a pallet drop) or lag. There is no autoaim or anything like that anymore so there's no reason to complain.
Also, you might ear that Freddy's lunge is the strongest or something like that... it's not true, his lunge is the same as any other killer, his hitbox is as well, It looks bigger because his weapon is smaller but It's the exact same as the other killers.
We can only tell once when Dedicated Servers come out in it's final form, because this one in the ptb is pure madness. It has to be lag, delayed animations or something but that has to be somehow fixable to make it more realistic and fair.

without pallet and at 110? there would be no mindgame. every killer would be like legion.
Excactly. And that'd be no fun for either side. 105 % also, it wouldn't be fun at all even if Survivor's can't run away from you via pallets or something.

Thanks for the backup. I'm glad I'm not just being a total whiney #########, but I see exactly where you're coming from too. I would like a response on this one day, but I doubt I'll see one.
I've been around since early 2017 and at this point I'm just considering finding another game to main. Behaviour are changing, and I'm really sick of it.
I don't know. I've been in this game almost since release and my will is to strong. I couldn't just leave this game. I love it even if the devs make stupid decisions sometimes. But they're also just humans and in my opinion they made many things better rather than worse in the last year. Many people also like complaining about stuff which is ptb. Most of the time, things aren't going live all the way it's in the ptb. Legion needed that change but a few things were to much.
But I am always ready to backup and agree with others.

be funny if killers were same speed as survivor but with no pallets. it might make players learn to hug walls better. maybe this could be for grey and yellow rank playmode?
nah it shouldn't be same speed, but imagine chasing a Survivor with no pallets or jungle gyms, 110 or 105 %. That'd still make some Killers op but it would make Killer boring as #########

I've never understood how the auto aim thing works. The only time I can tell something is happening is when I suddenly feel my camera jerk. But the weird thing is this only happens when I MISS. Not connect.
That's what I mean. When I see something should miss and it hits then I get triggered, even as Killer. It's just not fair. And it that case, hitboxes need to be adjusted, but that's already pretty confirmed to be an issue by the devs.

I'm starting to get sick of this company giving us things and taking them away after they've emptied our wallets.
First they gut Freddy, then they gut Legion, now they're just completely changing cosmetics after everyone has bought them. I know it's an incredibly minor thing and it seems silly to get upset about but it's essentially theft at this point.
But I can understand. Paying money for something that came out like A and then they change it to B. It has almost no effect for people who don't care. But for some people it gets annoying. I mean, they change Freddy now to C after the release and nerf but I just want to play a Killer which is fair and not #########. Legion needed tweaks and I doubt he'll make it like this to the live version, they have to change something because some parts are pretty unfair and literally nerfed.

You know how hitbox works, right?
it's a cone that may be a little bigger than the actual weapon. So if the game registers that the survivor hitbox has touched that cone your camera will move right to them so that It doesnt look like you'r hitting the air, even tho you are actually hitting that survivor.
That doesnt happen only with Billy, it happens with all killers, it's more obvious with Billy's chainsaw because you cant move around as good with It so that camera change is way more noticeable.
And still, seems not fair to me if the hitbox is big enough to make it seem that the weapon is sucked onto the Survivor like a magnet even if the Survivor dodged it pretty well. Everybody says that hitboxes are broken and hopefully they'll get fixed when the dedicated servers are out.
Hitboxes seem to be an hard issue and especially if the ping isn't that good it's even harder to judge.

@GrootDude said:
@MrDardon I’m not the best at explaining it and Peanits could probably explain it better.
Yeah, got it. But that doesn't change the fact that my Chainsaw acts like a magnet when chainsawing someone. The same feeling I also get as Survivor, it looks like the Killer is wiffing his Chainsaw but then it gets sucked onto me lol

Regardless, I don't know why BHVR think it's acceptable to change something people paid money for AFTER the fact, it's already been out for over half a year. If you wanted to give Dwight a handlebar mustache then by all means do it, but why alter an already existing cosmetic to do so?
I don't even know how this one looked like before. But yeah, I agree. Why changing a skin to something after it got released.
You can't imagine how mad I was when they made Dwearder back to it's ######### look which is now. He had a smooth bald head and then they reverted it again for some reason.

No, I literally mean: Running to a Survivor, reviving the Chainsaw while hugging their back, turning my camera, releasing the Chainsaw hit while they turn again and my camera instantly turns to them and hits them by it's own

Autoaim doesnt exist anymore.
If you want to test the chainsaw's hitbox by yourself you can do it in a KYF match.
Go to Coldwind Farm, get on the combine and make a survivor stay on the hay as close to the window as they can and try to hit them with the chainsaw and with the M1 attack from beneath them. You'll see that you can hit him with your M1 attack but you cant with your chainsaw.
So, what could it be when my Chainsaw flicks to a Survivor on it's own without doing it by myself? Autoaim I guess *sarcasm intensifies*

Survivors need to relax and accept you're going to die sometimes and escape sometimes.
No killers in their current state need nerfed, none. If anything a few could do with a polishing/buffing up.
Im solo survivor main, i want challenged not an escort out the exit doors by weak ass killers.
It's not that any brainhealthy player (and I say brainhealthy because there are people who literally want Killers to be unplayable) would like Killer to be unfun or unfair. I don't want easy escapes either. I just want to be rewarded for doing well rather than punished. And one thing is being hit by a Chainsaw which shouldn't have hit thanks to auto aim/hitboxes

It may look like his chainsaw hitbox is bigger because of the animation delay but it's actually smaller than his M1 hitbox and anyone who disagrees is either lying or havent tested it.
When I chainsaw a Survivor it usually turns my camera with my Chainsaw onto the Survivor, so idk if that's some sort of stupid unfair auto aim or an actual bigger hitbox.

Hmm. Gay opinion here.
Jake > David > Dwight > Jeff (less beard cosmetic required, his normal one is too much) > Quinton (they could of did his face better) > Adam > Ace > Ash > Tapp > Bill
A few could be switched around like Jake/David and Quinton/Adam. I'm terrible at choices.
When Killer, I'm more likely to spare the top guys on my list than anyone else. And being at the mercy of some of the male killers can be fun if they're more goofball/playful. Frank, Myers, Trapper, and Joey aren't too bad to wiggle around their feet and be carried on their shoulders by. Didn't even get mad at a Frank moonwalking on me slugged for awhile or the Myers who wanted a pet slug to follow him around.
So you get turned on when chased by Legion or Myers.
Interesting fetish but okay
-
I had this same thought. The Chainsaw hitbox is bigger for whatever reason. I made a thread about how to make the Chainsaw Killers more balanced and fun but I only got disagreements on this thread so I gave up even if I found the change very, very creative, logic and balanced.
If they do anything to Billy they should just make the hitbox smaller, like I said, I don't really know why it's bigger than the actual hitbox

@NuclearBurrito said:
@MrDardon for reference my current stance is:
A: Looping as a dominant strategy needs to go
B: Pallets and Windows ect NEED to exist since they are what make alternative strategy's plausible. Thus they need to stay
C: Thus some alternative method to nerfing loops is needed.
I have not settled on a way to do that and it would be great if we could brainstorm together.
Some potential ideas are:
Stamina system for survivors.
Hitbox and bloodlust buffs for Killers.
Total map overhaul
None of these are "silver bullets" or anything. I personally think that Stamina has the most potential but would be hard enough to implement that coming up with something else would be much better.
Stamina with the already nerfed Exhaustion would be to much. Hitboxes are broken at the moment anyways, so they need to fix those first and then try to do something with that. Alot of these stuff could be altered when Dedicated Servers go live.
Loops consist of pallets most of the time. I never saw a Survivor looping me or another Killer around a rock to gain time, they usually loop circles where there is a pallet. Where would you place pallets if there would be an adjustment to a strategy which also doesn't sound very logic. Removing pallet loops would make every pallet safe and we'll get only maps like The Game where you are forced to drop and break a pallet. No mindgames or anything involved.
My opinion would be: Make every pallet loop like a jungle gym with walls where you can not see a Survivor trough, *cough* farm maps. Different sorts of jungle gyms would be nice to see variation and it would also make it more difficult to play those loops right as Killer or Survivor.
The only loops which are busted are the farm loops with a car in the middle (no mindgame, ridicolous loop and can be an infinite if the Killer doesn't break the pallet), cow loops are unbalanced and every loop around the Thomson House is busted. In some sort I agree, but not with the "Looping needs to go" part. The devs need to adjust certain pallet loops on certain maps. And also increase the distance in which safe pallets can spawn together, because The Game has the most stupid pallet spots in my opinion

@Orion said:

No, not really. The problem isn't looping per se, it's why looping works in the first place. Looping works primarily due to three things: different hitboxes, different accelerations, different speed reductions while turning.
Survivors are smaller than killers, accelerate more quickly than killers (relative to their top speed), and can turn on a dime without losing much speed.
Killers are bigger, accelerate more slowly (relative to their top speed), and slow down considerably when turning.
You wouldn't need to tweak that many loops if you just got rid of these three things.
Usually when I play Killer I loops exactly how a Survivor's optimal loop looks like. Pushing myself as near as possible to a wall or obstacle but watching out that I don't get stuck (of course needs movement practice for that), most people I verse as Survivor just run and don't try to close the gap as much as possible. I barely let space between me and a wall so I can shorten loops even more. I don't look straight, I look slightly sideways so I don't have to turn that much when turning and it gives me a lot of advantages.
-

Nobody mentioned wanting to remove pallets, so I don't know why you're bringing that up.
Since the thread was about "Looping needs to go" and pallets being potential loops I recognized this as "pallets need to go" and if pallets go, Killers need to be slower which is like I said, more boring than anything else.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/445434#Comment_445434
I didn't say anything about how difficult it is to counter looping. I just think it's boring being on a hamster wheel. I play both sides.
It might be boring. You could still adjust those loops to be able to mindgame on them. But removing pallets would force the devs to make Killers slower which would be even more boring than running in circles.
-
I like the fact that I have a roof above my head, food, water and work where I earn my money.

Looping does not involve mindgames. Can't mindgame if all you're doing is running in circles.
Stealth is also not just "hiding". You need to juke, break LoS, plan ahead, do a bunch of crap.
I don't have a problem with looping when playing Killer. I know how to anti loop and how to force pallets down earlier. And I bet every Killer can confirm that running in circles is more fun than just running around and finding no one.
And also, actual loops where there are no LoS blockers aren't that hard loops either. It's usually a pallet which is gone in a few seconds.
-
@Andreyu44 said:
Of course, if we could balance the game around this change, that would be wonderful.
Looping is cancer to deal with, but its the best option the survivors have to...survive.
It's one of two options:
Loop aka chase or Stealth
stealth won't work all the time but with the right build and playstyle it can do more damage to the Killer than looping. Looping/pallets shouldn't go but be adjusted a bit. There are many busted loops on many maps, safe pallets. I won't mention the Coldwind Farm loops because they're getting adjusted with the mid chapter patch
-
Looping is just the fact that you love chases, mindgame and outplay your opponent.
Stealthing is the fact that you love... stealth I guess, you enjoy hiding and not being found. I love chasing and mindgame but I still find it satisfying when I can stealth around someone.
