  • Yeah he could have just leveled Pyramid Head during the 6th anniversary.

I honestly believe maps should be bigger while also increasing movement speed to keep travel time roughly the same while still keeping things far away and covered enough to prevent things like camping generators on opposite sides of the map, or the gates by just standing at the center of the map.

Movement gives room to decision mistakes and oportunity windows, whereas the stillness of camping objectives at direct opposite sides at a glance just keeps devolving into terribly unengaging stalemates. Effective, yes, but not exactly something many people find engaging on either side.

Maps like Haddonfield and Dead Dawg Saloon are terribly prone to have easy to camp gates and gens from the center, and while this is not a problem when survivors are ahead by a lot because it allows an opportunity for a comeback from the killer, it is a terrible design for less than 3 escapes. Popping the last generator with two or less people alive in these situations usually means it's a guaranteed 4k for the killer because hatch is almost a nonexistent mechanic and gates are impossible to open when the other side can just check gate progress by quickly flicking their mouse.

But then again, not many people on these forums would agree with this because they think the map size increase would come in a vaccum and anyone that proposes this is trying to get easy 4 escapes every time which, at least in my case, is far from the truth.

Then how would a chase be balanced if a Killer moved let's say.. 10 % quicker?

  • Probably Myers. He's limping across the map slowly, needs to slow himself down even more to build up his power which at least takes 5 seconds to charge up per Tier.

Has no real anti loop, cuz base Tier 3 vaulting is still to slow at most loop and his longer lunge is negligible.

The only thing he has going for him is the surprise factor of sneaking up with Tier 2 akd popping Tier 3 on a Survivor, but even that is mostly difficult on open maps without Rabbit or M&A.

His area control is weak because he doesn't have traps unlike Trapper. Trapper can at least snowball and shut down an area. Myers cannot and he is the only Killer where his power can run out.

He is really outdated, needs a rebalance on his kit and Add-ons. His Add-ons alone boost him from D Tier to B Tier if not A Tier with Tombstone Piece and some good Perks.

  • I mean, instead of 1 or 2 beer every other day, I drink 3 to 4 on Saturday evenings because Sunday is a free day and I tank those pretty well. They also relax me a bit so might be that Survivors are kinda drunk xD

It just feels like a reward after a hard week.

  • I'd just make it work twice on unhook and increase the stun to 4 seconds.

Has monitor be changed to just give undetectable because it is still shown as reducing your actual TR on the official wiki

No, Myers in Tier 1 is undetectable, so he doesn't have a Terror Radius at base.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/372257/what-is-the-best-build-and-killer-for-jumpscaring-and-how-to-correctly-apply-it

I like to stick to the dbd classics for jumpscares, Scratched Mirror Myers.

Perks: Monitor and Abuse/Play With Your Food/Furtive Chase/[Insert gen slowdown of choice]

Addons: Scratched Mirror/Jewelry or Vanity Mirror(if you want the EW2 buffs)/Jewelry

    Map Offering: The Game

This build keeps your TR suppressed heavily and gives you on demand tracking via your stalk. Furtive will let you juggle your obsession throughout the game so you can always have access to the movement speed increase of PWYF. You'll be at a movement speed disadvantage, but that isn't as big a deal on The Game where you'll be able to get the benefit of corners. Scratched Mirror does severely limit your lunge ability so you can swap the jewelry for the lunge increase addon. Vanity Mirror lets you go to the EW2 which gives you a bit more base movement and lunge support in exchange for less aura reading distance. The aura reading will be cut from 32m to 16m if you swap Scratched to Vanity. Monitor and Abuse will give the benefit of extra FOV when not in chase as well so you'll have a tad bit more visual range to play with.

Monitor was good when he had a 6 meter Terror Radius. Now that he's undetectable, this Perk is practically a wasted Perk Slot.

  • Plague.

Shutting down an entire game mechanic thanks to her power makes her quite boring to me.

Also, her apparent counterplay isn't really counterplay but rahter a lose lose scenario. You either cleanse and give her 60 seconds of Omega Huntress or you don't cleanse and you're permanently exposed and easy to track. Also, the constant coughing is really annoying on some Survivors.

Then there is the solo reason I hate her so much, solo teammates will cleanse cleanse and cleanse left and right, they won't try to stay broken even for a second and will cleanse at the most detremental times possible.

Yeah, that's my little rant on her entire design.

  • My biggest issue with DH is getting adressed, and that being that it works within the first chase (the most important one for Killer to apply pressure).

When there is one hooked, 1 downed and I chase someone else and that person dead hards, I don't really care that much.

  • Remember old Blood Lodge? It's the same but orange.

  • Yeah, let's ignore the amount of muscle memory you need to have in order to actually hit those curves.

  • @KerJuice said:

That would make it a little too strong and meta at high play/SWF’s, defeating one of the purposes for this update.

So, by that definition We'll make it is overpowered then.

  • That would be a nerf.

Resurgence cuts the healing in half, similar to We'll make it, making it an 8 second heal. If Resurgence allowed the unhooker to heal you at 50 %, that'd mean the heal would take 12 seconds. Buffing it to 100 % would be the same amount of healing time. And even then, it'd still be a worse We'll make it because it'll only work for that 1 heal.

  • Because they want to incentivise altruistic healing, which causes natural game slowdown.

A green Medkit healing you solo in 8 to 10 seconds can't really be called "slowdown".

  • There is gonna be a more tactical use out of new PR. Like, getting a down pretty fast means that some gens might not even have more than 25 % progress. So what people will do, they'll keep the Tokens until midgame where it's most important. And having 4 x 25 % regression in midgame is really strong.

And as someone has mentioned, PR + Grim Embrace + No Way Out is gonna be quite a decent combo. Once you've used up all your PR, Grim Embrace now blocks all gens for 40 seconds which is additional slowdown, and after that, the Exit Gates are blocked for 60 seconds. Adding all that together can result in a huge amount of slowdown.

  • @GolbezGarlandGabrant said:

So the brown Bandages addon are removed? Even less bloodweb clutter is great.

I don't think they're removed, they just didn't change. No point in mentioning them if they're not changed.

  • Thanks for the in depth explanation. This surely took a few hours of work.

    Keep it up buttercup.

  • @alicebiscuit said:

Yeah, I guess we shouldn't panic before we know the numbers. It just feels like it came out of nowhere.

    I don't want to become a camping, backrev-main. :(

Even if they nerf it by like 1 or 2 %, why nerf it in the first place?

Billy needs more speed at base, not his best addons nerfed.

  • I know new CoH is gonna be way worse, but I'm gonna run it with Overzealous.

And 2 other Perks, probably still gonna be WoO and Kindred like I currently have.

  • I could see giving him some extra speed on his sprints, but LoPro shouldn't be made basekit.

  • I personally don't have a problem with Nightfall Dredge. He isn't supposed to be a stealth Killer but rather a dreadful presence. You should know that he is here and have that unsetteling feeling.

Dredge outside of Nightfall is quite bad. His tp speed is ultra slow and his cooldown is to long. Increase his tp speed to Demo's and rework his cooldown so it works like Artist's where if you used only 1 Token, it's shorter and if you used 3, it's longer.

    1. Take current Freddy and throw him into the trash can.
    2. Give us 2017/18 Freddy back with some improvements.

You have the worst taste in music ever

Maybe he enjoys having a tinnitus every match.

  • I wouldn't call it coincidence either, they could've just used a Survivor bloodweb as well. But using a certain Killer's bloodweb seems quite specific.

  • Am I like the only person on the planet who enjoys vsing the Knight?

Anyways, all you can really do is hold forward as long as you can and try to stay out of LoS of the Guards once he places them. If you're cornered, try detaching from the loop and try using LoS blockers while doing so. Hard to explain but I usually do that and it works quite well.

  • Weird, I did them all 1st try with no problems whatsoever.

  • The ability to self heal relatively fast is what makes them way to strong.

CoH would be in a way better spot if they made it back to 100 % BUT only for altruistic healing and remove the ability to self heal.

Self Care doesn't fall under that category because you literally take longer to heal yourself than it takes for a teammate to heal you, so there is efficiency lost.

  • Played bots for quite a while, but after said while they become really predictable and its getting really boring, even after the improvements they made.

You can't go for skillshots because they'll automatically dodge which makes range killers pointless against them. Pyramid Head, one of my faves falls into that category. But I'm good enough with him to stand a chance against most teams so I usually queue up if I want to play him.

They're just good for testing Add-ons, new Killers and stuff but other than that... not that useful. But I still love the feature.

It's a crime, not only because it was on a corner, but, in borgo, so one of the biggest map where you have to run for picking that...

    I fell bad for you..

Nah, game was already over when I went there. Just wanted to analyze if I was insane or if that trap was truly in the corner. I had an eye on that trap the entire time but once it was over I had to go there and check for myself.

But once I hit Exposed with Devour, both Totems were done at the same time xD

  • Because as long as CoH and Med Kits exist in their current state, there is no reason to take any other healing Perk.

Tbh, cleansing Totems in these days is such a bad idea, you're just denying others blessing that totem for unlimited teamwide heals.

Unless it gets a full on rework where it only showed injured Survivors Auras within the Boon's range or doesn't allow self heals, it'll always be a bad idea to cleanse Totems.

  • I'm starting to believe that they nerfed Eruption because of Skull Merchant and not because of the complaints.

  • I play since September 2016 and my first main was Billy. To be honest, I didn't know what I was doing back then so I didn't play him that well but he sticked to me until..

October 25th, 2016: Myers release. It was really scary to have a normal human looking guy with no Terror Radius who was just looking at you from a distance. It was eery as heck, now it's not scary at all. But the feeling I've felt when playing against Myers back then was intense. I wanted to be one of those and he became my first ever main I even enjoyed playing, use his power efficiently to some extent. He made me familiar with the Halloween movies I enjoyed for a long time (Ends killed my desire to watch Halloween)

Then I was an all-rounder for a very long time till Pyramid Head was "nerfed". I wasn't playing PH after his release that much, I actually hated him because all people did was press M2 and then cancel with no penalty, actually using his PotD attack was really risky cuz you had a 2.75 second cooldown every time, but after the "nerf" were they gave him a slight penalty to cancelling and reduced his PotD cooldown to 2.25 seconds, I started playing him more and he was one of the first I could play match after match like crazy. I started learning stuff like flicking, M2-tech (which isn't possible anymore). I got really advanced with him.. and bored.

His Add-ons are trash, he has no different playstyles, so at some poing I just stopped playing him. I played alot of Blight after his release but eventually I got bored and felt bad because literally everyone played him at that point.

Instead, I started playing alot of Spirit after she got nerfed, her chase music pumped me up and motivated me, outplaying people with her phase felt actually rewarding, unlike before where she could literally stand still and get hits. Her variety of Add-ons made me happy because I could actually try out different playstyles.

Once Legion got reworked, I thought I'd play them more and I did.. but for not a long time. I got bored quickly. After that I played Wesker a lot when he was released but also not for long. After Wesker I played dbd only partially so I mostly played swf and then went off for 2 or 3 weeks again to do some RL stuff because I was quite addicted to dbd before.

Now I play dbd more regularely again but without the addictive amount I did before, I still prioritize RL (before I'd neglect important stuff in RL which could've ended really bad). Anyways, my go to at the moment is Pyramid Head again. I never really unlearned how to play him, I still get some cool flicks and all in all is now my favourite Killer again.

And in case you've read all of that..

    image.png

  • Good you didn't play in the old days where we had 3 o'clock skill checks. Those were a nightmare.

Those got removed pretty quickly around Myers or Hag release.

  • @Alen_Starkly said:

Trapper needs to be carrying all of his traps by default imo. Good survivors avoid traps easily anyway, and then if you have to go around the whole map and waste time picking traps up, you're doomed. And yeah, this contributes to Trapper being the worst killer in the game right now. The DBD icon himself. It's sad.

Make him carry all of his traps by default, and be able to pick them up. Nerf his basement camping abilites if needed. It shouldn't be that a Trapper wins if he manages to hook someone in the basement, but most likely loses if he doesn't. His success shouldn't revolve around the freakin' basement smh.

Tbh, the first trailer featured Trapper carrying his victims into the basement, so it is kind of his "chillout zone".

But all that is outdated as heck, Trapper needs massive buffs and basement shouldn't exist in the current state of the game.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Part of committing to the Evan lifestyle is accepting that you're spending half a gen to get that trap and place it in a map with almost no grass against Seal Team SWF. Do that for 2 or 3 games, then play Nurse and 4k at 4 gens.

I mean, I'm by no means a Trapper main or anything. I don't even enjoy playing him, I had a daily to kill someone with my own hands, hence why I'm using Rancor, Devour and an Ebony. But after seeing this, I was shocked and felt bad for all the Trapper Mains.

  • @Killing_Time said:

That's crazy given the map is way too big anyways

Right? I think loopwise the map is in a okay'ish spot, but you can't see anything from far away because the map is way to big, it all disappears into the render distance.

And for it's size, the main building is laughably small and irrelevant. It feels like old Blood Lodge, but orange.

I agree. Don’t know any suitable word except for ‚vulnerable‘ though..

    ‚defenseless‘ doesn’t have a nice sound either.

    ‘fragile‘?

    endangerned.

In German it says "Gefährdet", which is the exact translation to "endangered". Not sure why it's called Exposed.

  • I'd still play Pyramid Head.

  • Yeah, doesn't work for me either.

  • Weird, I opened this thread randomly while listening to Dredge chase music.

  • @Phasmamain said:

Was experimenting with different builds for merchant and came across a pretty fun and viable build

The perks are Brutal strength, Fire up, Oppression and Pop (could be replaced with any other gen kick perk). The add-ons are shotgun speakers and geographical readout

Shotgun speakers make the oppression skill checks much harder to hit for more consistent and the geographical readout combines with fire up and brutal to make pallet breaks super fast. If you kick the pallet at the right side you can basically guarantee a hit.

This forces survivors away from drones since they can’t really loop when you break so fast and the info/regression from Pop and oppression should keep gens from going too quickly

With how good Merchant is at holding a 3 gen she gets surprisingly good use from fire up. Obviously this isn’t the most meta build but it’s a fun side option which is still pretty viable and super fun

If Pop went from 20 % current to 20 % total progress, then it would be a good choice yeah.

  • I just want Pyramid Heads PTB chase theme back.

  • I just played against Skull Merchant and my game crashed as well. It doesn't seem to be a regular occurence but just throwing it out there. I play on PC btw.

Edit: Oh yeah, and to add more salt to the wound, I got a matchmaking lock because of that.

  • Pretty weak.

She's an M1 Killer with no anti loop so the best way to play her is by playing the boring playstyle. 3 gen and protect that 3 gen with your drones and stall the game.

Use gen kick Perks along with a bit of chase Perks. I've played 4 matches so far and she doesn't fit my playstyle at all. I usually chase people but for that, she is to weak.

  • Can't remember the last time I used Eruption, ever. And I still win the majority of my matches. I think it's a carry Perk for bad players, just like Noed and old Dead Hard.

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

Ngl, the player that told you it's intentional is delusional. There's absolutely no way that he, or any other killer, should be able to grab at distance.

In case it hasn't been already, make sure to report it to the bug section of the forums.

That's why I find it weird. It is basically the same as the old "Prayer Beads" Spirit and they nerfed it cuz you had no way of telling if she is gonna grab you or not. This is basically the same but without an Add-on on a 115 % Killer.

  • DH (or any Perk) should not be designed in a way where you as a player need to A: Wait it out and or B: Assume someone has it even though they might not have it.

Those 2 things make a Perk way to strong and easily meta and is also a bad design in my opinion. Perks should always have some sort of telling if they are present or not, via icon or anything tbh. But some strong Perks don't have such thing while really weak ones do have them even though they don't need them.

  • I was away for like 2 weeks, not even on the forums and everything changed.

Its smart when you are one of the first 3 and do it to prevent being removed from the game instantly, but yeah spitefully denying the achievement and forcing a stalemate is being a bit vindictive.

What I usually do, I jump in lockers to force a grab and hook and once I'm on death hook I let him Mori me.
