i dont mind them, and i typically farm when im killer, unless i have a challenge to do. but as survivor they are a nice break, though i've only had like 3 matches like that.
-
well, although it doesnt sound like things have been changed, its still possible numbers were tweaked. they just generalized in the trailer, so its possible Trail Of Torment's cooldown got reduced, which wouldnt make it great but it would be better i guess. but, knowing how this game goes i wouldnt be surprised if things werent changed.

I'm not sure I understand this correctly.
Does he simply teleport to the animatronic's location, like Freddy teleports to generators, and then gain the corresponding effects?
If that is the case, I feel like having only six animatronics by default might not be quite enough. There already are seven different generators, and when some of the animatronics end up spawning at a gate or a hook instead, and one is guaranteed to spawn in the basement, it might not let him properly pressure the map.
Since his power acts purely as a mobility tool, he's got nothing to help him in chases; he's just an M1 killer. Because of that I think there should be at least 8 animatronics by default, so he can move around the map more freely.
Fair enough. Like i said at the start dont get too hung up on the numbers, theyre mainly just there so im not just saying "some" and "a few" all the time.
But yes he teleports then gains the effect based on which animatronic is in that spot he teleported to.

I had an idea that Springtrap's power could somehow be tied to Phantom animatronics from FNAF 3. Their purpose was to hinder the player and allow Springtrap to get closer to the office.
I think the easiest way to explain the idea would be that it would be really similar to Hag's traps - when a survivor steps into the radius, they are triggered and a Phantom animatronic pops out. The survivor screams, revealing their location, and is then inflicted with a status effect, which differs depending on what Phantom was used.
It's very similar to Hag & Freddy, but it is something to start building off of.
Regarding a FNAF survivor... There doesn't have to be one. It could be a paragraph, like Leatherface, Ghostface and Ash.
i actually got really bored yesterday and decided to think on what i think Springtrap would be like and i came up with a very similar idea. an eerily similar idea
anyway i posted it here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/159525/springtrap-concept

it seems like the perk as is is only useful against newer players who have no idea why a gen is suddenly glowing yellow. but this perk definitely needs to be changed. i feel like at higher ranks all this does is actually help the survivors. the gen turns yellow, they know not to be over there for fifteen or so seconds, then once you're out of undetectable, as long as they have decent memory they now know where a gen that was being worked on is. great. you're welcome survivors.
-
survivor... it was against old school Freddy... i didnt last long at all
-
i wouldnt mind seeing FNAF come to DBD, i just dont really know how well it would go though. Spring Trap is definitely the bed choice for the killer, but i have no idea what his power could be that would fit both the mechanics of DBD and the feeling of FNAF.
as for survivor... unless Scott Cawthon would be willing to show what one of his characters looks like, fully, i dont think theres any options. from what i can recall, every normal person has either just been mentioned by name, seen in the shadows, or just shown in an 8 bit minigame/cutscene. but i could be wrong on that.
the only thing i can really see working for sure is a map. we even have layouts thanks to how the FNAF games work.

Which goes to show that ranks mean nothing in this game. I know the ranks reset every month, but if you don't play for awhile then you get reset all the way back to level 20 despite the fact that you are not a level 20 killer/survivor.
Personally I'm glad that they're implementing a matchmaking system that looks into skills. Sadly this is something that should have happened years ago.
oh absolutely. i was a bit rusty for sure when i came back but theres certain skills and strategies that dont leave you in this game. a rank 20 could be someone brand new or someone like me who has a level 50 pig using all tier 3 perks and purple add ons. i really hope the new system actually works decently. i always felt looking at rank and character level would work better.

Yeah that's what I'm experiencing right now.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/UEA5CRSG3HLA/img-20200607-210602-2.jpg
yeah its really bizarre. i didn't play this game for a few months and i was taken all the way back to rank 20, and while in rank 20-16 it was fine. but after that i started getting greens and purples and a couple red ranks.

Maybe, just maybe, what’s being played is called a ‘game’. A game is meant to be fun for everyone. Not for some scumbag to take the easy option because they’re too bad to get proper kills or more than 4 downs and hooks. You’re clearly a tunneller and you’re trying to justify it. It’s a disgrace and it involves no skill whatsoever.
Tunnellers and facecampers are just people that abuse the fact that survivors need to get saves to progress in the game, and without this, they can’t. So the easy option is to camp and wait for someone to come for them (as they have to) because they’re not skilled enough to leave the person to be unhooked and chase someone else whilst being confident they can re-down that person again. Hence my point that survivors are punished for facecampers and tunnellers, which is wrong.
ANYONE can facecamp and ANYONE can tunnel. Jump on dbd mobile and watch every single killer facecamp. Do you know why? Because they’re new to the game and they’re bad so it’s the only way they can secure at least 1 kill. That’s a fact on a new game and you can see for yourself. There is no skill involved in this whatsoever.
Also, as far as your comment goes about ‘their job is to kill you’... I think that’s blazingly obvious, but the aim of the game is to earn pips and bloodpoints, which comes easier by more downs and hooks on top of chase time. It’s really not that difficult to work it out.
if you want a multiplayer game where everyone's goal is to make sure everyone else has fun, unfortunately DBD is a pretty bad option. i get it, games are meant to be fun, but sometimes a portion of the player base doesn't see it that way.
also survivors dont NEED to save anyone. they can just as easily ignore you and do gens to get out of there. they may not pip but then they can move on to the next game and maybe get a better more fun game then. and same with the person who got camped and tunneled.
and you're right, anyone can camp or tunnel, its quite easy. thats why survivors, especially at lower ranks, need to just work on those gens as quickly as they can, and hopefully the killer will learn that maybe camping isnt such an effective strategy. but when survivors go in to save each other despite the killer being just meters away, the killer instead learns camping is effective.
and lastly, yes pips and bloodpoints are goals of the game, but one thing i've learned on these forums is no one can agree what a "win" is. pipping, double pipping, high blood points, 2 kills, 3 kills, 4 kills, they escape, two people escape, the whole team escapes. people have tons of different ways they interpret a win in this game. and maybe for some of those campers and tunnelers, getting that one kill is all they feel they need.
-
as far as im aware only xbox gamepass people get sales on auric cells
-
i prefer to just mess around as killer, and thats easier to do with newer survivors. plus i just hope to give someone a good first few memories of the game. for survivor, i guess its more in the low green ranks. im just not good enough to be higher, and though i dont mind losing, losing multiple games in a row is just stressful and annoying. and when i say lose, i dont mean me dying. i mean 3 or all 4 of us dying.

The PTB. I doubt they will change the amount of rewards the challenges will get. The PTB has been accurate so far.
Rather than changing challenge rewards, I'd prefer if they gave more options for XP gain. Specifically, provide XP bonus to the dailies (helps casuals out) while providing emblem XP bonus a higher value rather than a whole whopping single XP per emblem point (so the better you do in a match, the more bonus XP you get).
It still baffles me that you get SIGNIFICANTLY more XP for just existing than you do for actually playing well. I really hope they boost the emblem XP in the future.

Oh Damn, this is happening to you aswell?? I really thought I was the only one with this issue. Did this accured to you since the last update?
it happened before then but it seems worse since the update. i am on console, i dunno if that matters at all.

i love getting hit and my game freezing for a good half second.

What about "Earn X Bloodpoints"? Why are the additional points for WGLF and e.g. Escape Cake do not count?
I think that's stupid that only in-game bloodpoints count and no post-game bonus, because if I got 60k BP that match then I earned 60k and not 20k!?
But at least perks like Prove Thyself and so on help you get BP faster.
yeah i hate that too. i went with my classic farming killer build, used Survivor pudding, got 80,000 bloodpoints... only rewarded like 20,000 something.

The hell ? Thats a survivor challenge
no, the crow one is an either side challenge.
-
i mean... you didnt have to do that. its gonna be a while before level 2 comes out, so you can take some time with these challenges. so far i havent really had to do anything toxic.
-
its so sad how dull it feels. Totally Accurate Battle Simulator put more effort into their halloween stuff, and its by a smaller team, and its a comedic game. a horror game of this size should be able to do a lot more. make it look exciting at least.
-
one that i found, the one where you need great skillchecks while using This Is Not Happening, any great skill checks count. using Stake Out helps A LOT if you're not great at, well, greats.
-
i feel like they forgot about the Switch entirely.

To make it even worse, the stupid looking pumpkin gens give LESS blood points than an escape cake. With 2-3 you would be better using a green offering for points
Really? Guess thats why no ones using the offerings...

LOL Im at 500+hours
it bugged and its still carrying over
How recent was this? Is it effecting the rift at all?
-
i was at least hoping for killer hooks to glow or... something. i thought gens were going to be covered in blight. but there is not blight, just pumpkins... boy the event sure did wither this year didnt it?

yeah im.... sure he......... did.... his.................................................................. best.

yeah its not great. sounds like the actor just wanted it over with and went through it as fast as possible.
-
im not really a fan of it. i was excited but... the event really just doesnt mean anything. i was ok with it being bloodpoint only thing, though i understand most people's disappointment with it, but i was expecting a bit more than just... pumpkins. i barely even notice a special hook vs a normal hook when just walking by.
and no one else seems to really care either. ive played plenty of matches yesterday and today and only like 3 people even used event offerings. and, though not every game, im still getting some games that have people saboing the event hooks, once only the event hooks... so, yeah its really just... normal DBD. aside from challenges but thats a whole different topic.
-
i like the idea of charms but so far theres not really any i want that bad. the pumpkin one and the technician perk one are all i really want.
-
@justarandy said:
The bbq event was just visually a much better event and that wasn't even the main event for DbD.
its sad how true that is. gens were so bright and colorful, the hooks had the cool burning metal rack... this event is just "oh look theres a pumpkin"
-
but campings just sooooo... boring.
-
i think BHVR needs to just do away with master challenges. make it so level 4 just has you do a lot more over multiple games. like instead of the nearly impossible repair 4 gens in one game, have it be like repair a total of 8 gens.
-
i expected this to be about the battlepass or the challenge difficulty or gen speeds or something. nope, just the ugly silhouettes. i mean... they look awful, yes, but its nowhere near top priority, even for the community.
-
gosh what a roller coaster of emotions.
-
@coppersly said:
Not only that but any event gen done regardless of if you worked on it or not gives you points too.
After 3 years I'm kind of sad the best they can do is make high elo less fun.
wait what? you dont even have to work on an event gen to get the points? i feel like im understanding this wrong because that makes zero sense to me.
-
i want to agree but... theres only so many mistakes that can be forgiven in a row before you start to get upset. in the time ive been with this game, it feels like the game has improved, but the devs havent. they are still messing things up every update. im not going to attack them, but i am putting my foot down and saying that this is not acceptable.
-
im just gonna use them. for all we know fixing the rift will take weeks. and they dont really effect the rift at all, its just extra bloodpoints.
-
the "special" gens are so disappointing. three jack o lanterns, thats it.
-
im so baffled.
-
its blocked off for me too. i havent gotten any progress yet but yeah, i cant access the archives at all
-
just dressing up and hanging out around the house.
-
devs, thank you. i know it must have been rather stressful. not only was making the update and event a long and stressful journey, but for it to seemingly fall apart just a few days before launch had to be as crushing for you as it was for the community, heck, even more so. trying to work on it, as well as take the criticism from the community at the same time had to be stressful, and i want to thank the employees that stuck it out and did their best to find the problems and fix them. thank you all, i look forward to playing this event with my friends.
also thank you for getting over your OCD and pushing the update out on a Wednesday and not waiting until next week Tuesday 😛

It must be hidden extremely well then i searched all of the privacy settings 10x over and couldn't find that or a way to deny party invitations.
Hopefully next year when next gen launches Microsoft makes their settings easier to find.
yeah hopefully. if you do want to get there though, go to your Settings, Account, Privacy and online safety, Xbox live privacy, View details & customize, Communication & multiplayer, and then just change all the settings that say everybody to friends only... yeah, its a real pain to figure it out on your own :/

That doesn't exist on Xbox sadly
Only ps4/steam. On Xbox you have to block case by case
not true. its a pain to get there but you can do it. this game is the whole reason i figured out how to navigate to the settings.

You messed up the title! It should be "beating the disconnected horse"
Anyway yes, DC's on either side tend to be annoying. This is why i cant wait for the husk thing.

Well if you hate flies and other insects then technically the house spiders are paying rent in their own way :>
exactly. nothing more annoying than trying to listen for survivors, then a stupid fly buzzes by your ear. long as the spider doesnt bother me, it can stay as long as it wants.
-
people.
seriously though, Spiders, and that's really all that "terrifies" me. and it only does if its a big one, or if i saw it then it went out of sight. if its like a common house spider that lives in a web in the corner of a room, doesn't really bother me.
-
throw the hatchet in their direction and pray
-
matchmaking also tries to find players that are up to 6 ranks either above or below your rank. so, all is well here.
