Honestly... kinda want it to happen just so Matpat can try to connect the Fnaf lore with Dbd lore...
Would be a fun video. 🤣
I really don't get the reaction people have against Fnaf or the xenomorph. It's like when a new character gets in smash, but "oh no, it's from FE again".
I just don't get it.
knowing how the fnaf games are and how Scott thinks, im sure he'd have the dbd devs put a lore clue somewhere in the map. i can see it now
"if you turn on the generator in the main party room and the parts and service room exactly 6 minutes into the match, a special door will open up that leads downstairs. this is the ONLY way to reach this room and when you get in there, its none other than good ol William Afton himself, sitting there in the freshly locked Spring Bonnie suit"
i watch too much game theory. and fnaf stuff.

But what if a survivor genuinely wants to play the game normally. But now they can't because of the killer. Now the killer can play how they want but I see this like when the killer is farming but some survivors just want to play normally
thats just how things go in a multiplayer game sometime. the other day i ran into two Bills who hung out in the basement lockers, and after i put a trap on their heads and hooked them, they got saved and went right back in the lockers and waited for my traps to kill them. what if i wanted a normal match? what about the other two survivors? its just how things go sometimes.
-
this is pretty much how i've always played. hook everyone once to get my bbq stacks then just chase, down, let them wiggle, find someone else, maybe mess around and do silly stuff. it is indeed quite fun.
-
im not deaf or hard of hearing, but i play killer without sound all the time. i tend to like listening to videos or podcasts while i play games, and trying to listen to that and dbd stuff just stresses me out too much cause i have trouble focusing on either, so i just dont play with the sound when im playing killer. and it tends to vary a bit but i can do decently. i got a perfect game a few days ago without sound. 4 kills, 32k score. it was hard at first but after learning when and where the survivors were trying to hide, not hearing wasnt a problem. just got to look around more, and more carefully.
-
two main fears that i'd genuinely classify as phobias of mine
the fear of being forgotten. this is one thats haunted me for years, and still does at times. used to be way worse at dealing with it though. i used to text my friends or partner every ten minutes to make sure they didn't forget about me. i know, i was probably very very annoying. i got better with it though. i got myself to wait between texts more. an hour, a couple hours, ect ect. now basically as long as i hear from them that day, or they've told me why i wont be hearing from them, i'm fine. it still gets to me sometimes though.
and second is the fear of ghosts. now, im the kind of person who believes that anything could be possible, but without significant evidence then i dont have any reason to believe its real. and this goes the same for ghosts, spirits, poltergeists, yadda yadda yadda. i believe its possible they exist, but i dont believe that they do at the moment.... but watching videos of supposed ghost activities scare the absolute crap out of me. i don't know why they get to me so bad. sometimes i cant sleep for a day or two after watching one. and yet i still sometimes watch one out of curiosity.

This post is EXACTLY why the devs are extremely cautious about taking too much stock from SOME of the community’s suggestions.
Clown IS Underrated. He is, and always has been very strong in a chase. This alone is all he needs to pressure the survivors. The problem with Clown has never been “no map pressure” or “no mobility”. The problem has always been that very few players use the bottles correctly or smartly. If any killer on the roster is using their power incorrectly of course they’ll be perceived as weak.
What the balance team did for Clown was a very big deal. For the already competent Clown players it has made them so much more lethal in a chase. In fact my current attitude regarding Clown is that if he has at least 2 bottles available and a survivor is spotted, that survivor is 100% screwed, or at least taking an injury if the Clown strategy is run n gun.
When a Clown player knows what they’re doing:
- They ruin survivors spacing, denying them vaults and pallets.
- Or force survivors to waste resources (early pallet drops) at a very fast rate.
- Trick survivors into EXACTLY where Clown wants them to go.
- Or completely cuts them off from reaching in time tiles/structures that Clown doesn’t want survivors to access, or at the very least makes those structures that seem very safe against other killers, VERY unsafe against Clown.
And the devs KNOW this. They know that eventually when more players figure Clown out they’ll start quickly downing survivors left right n centre. It’s why they’ve been very conservative with such a small change, and will closely monitor how this affects Clowns performance for a little while. Clown can very easily become overpowered if the devs aren’t careful, especially if they ignored their own guts and took on too much community feedback and implemented it into Clown, feedback from players don’t use Clown often, don’t think about how or where they’re throwing bottles, and generally don’t really have a clue what they’re talking about.
im just curious, what sort of mistakes do you see or hear people playing clown make? i always felt like how to use clown's power was obvious, just learning how to do it right takes time and learning the survivors you face. so where is it people tend to go wrong? why do people underestimate and underrate the clown?
-
you know you're... working towards the center with level 4 right? start as survivor on one side or killer on the other then work towards the middle

Why have you got distressing on Pig, she's a stealth killer.
If it's to gain more blood points then I'll direct you to Otzdarva's farming video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2K8SILr3ls
It's not worth bringing Distressing for BP, if you already have BBQ and chilli.
oh im aware. i dunno just old habits die hard i guess, i havent changed my perks on pig for a long while

I just wanna say I love the matchmaking, a 14 against all reds and one purple is kinda #########.
oh yeah, i had a day where ALL my matches were like that. Steve was one of 5 kills i got that day. i dont know what was happening

While more excusable because it was in low ranks, a while back I had a Legion game where multiple survivors went down to Deep Wounds multiple times in the same match
The other day something similar happened when I saved someone with Borrowed Time and they never mended.
oh gosh yeah. a few weeks ago i was doing one of the Legion feral frenzy challeneges, and i was just stunned when i saw the notification of someone going down to the deep wounds. they were low rank but i just havent seen it happen in so long

RANK 3 LMAO
I think a big part of it is how uncommon pigs are, I absolutely love going against her she's my favourite to go against but unfortunately I don't see her that often so people end up learning the hard way
yeah, true. i think i've only faced 4 pigs in the two years i've been playing. i play more killer than survivor but still, not many pig players out there
-
@Danu said:

I think survivors need to know about pig a lot more, I still find it one of the funniest things in the game when someone tries to leave with an activated RBT and all you can do is just stand there and watch them die at the gates
im sure this rank 3 Steve would agree XD thats exactly what happened in this match and... yeah, some people just dont get how Pig works
-
its happened to me a few times, had one a couple days ago actually. i mostly just do it out of defeat because by that point i've already had a bad day, just wanted to do a match where i farmed and messed around, but instead had a match where i dont find a survivor until like two gens have popped and barely manage to hook anyone. so, when i let the survivors leave even if they want me to hook them its mainly just me going "no, just get your bloodpoints, im done for the night"

right? this bothers me a lot too. i just want to be nice and give everyone extra bloodpoints.
-
yeah im getting sick of this too. im just trying to have fun and mess around, get my bbq stacks and do whatever challenege i have. but no, i a yellow rank keep getting stuck with sweaty red and purple ranks. i havent had a fun killer match for the past ten matches i've done because its been nothing but this.

How many games have you gone into where there is 15 survivors and not just 4? This doesnt say hit survivors 15 times, it says hit 15 survivors.
oh i didnt even process it like that... thats just too dumb to of even registered. wow yeah thats got to be a typo
-
this can pretty much only be done if you farm and the survivors let you and know what you're doing

Oh and I forgot to mention, I had a head pop and i wasnt running anything at all to make that happen. Then i got to thinking about it, it has to be a ######### to get the rbts off on that map. Whats the addon that hides the boxes till its activated? Yeah run that and tampered timer with a midwitch map offering and its going to be head pop city. In a month or two maybe not so mufh, but right now, holy ######### thats got to be a crazy combo
oof, i can only imagine. i'll have to try that out

Silent Hill is a new Chapter for Dead by Daylight. It includes a Killer, The Executioner; a Survivor, Cheryl Mason; and a map. Purchasing the add-on will unlock its new Killer, new Survivor, and an exclusive universal Charm.it says it on the steam page

Looks like your character model was blocking your view of ghostface. Which is covered in this video i link to. Since you seem to only been able to reveal him, after the ghostface took a slight step backwards.
ah, i see now. i'll keep that in mind, thank you

i really dont understand how the reveal works at all.
and yes of course it was a bad idea to run at him, i was playing with potatoes and didn't feel like taking the match seriously

You can probably get to a window or pallet in 8 seconds ( or out the exit gates). And since when do killers ever go for the one who picked the survivor off the ground? Because I've never seen that, they just instaslug that person again, which is what I'm hoping this perk will help with.
ok, first point, fair, thats very true. second point though, im saying after the first time a killer tries to slug you again, the killer will realize you have the perk and go after the healer instead. which yes may not even be a situation that happens but nothing about this perk is guaranteed to be helpful in a trial.

Yeah that is the biggest downside to getting representation is you get the shoddy, done only for browny points kind that means nothing and is forgotten the second June is over or it stops making money.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1346603#Comment_1346603
That would be a more sincere and impactful way that's for sure. Just release the character and have it in the lore and not even mention it until players start talking about it. But oh well, companies gotta company I gue$$.
your second point is exactly how i feel every time a company makes some sort of inclusion announcement. if you announce it, it feels like they're just going "hey, we're doing the thing! like us!". but if you just do it and dont make a deal about it, then it feels more sincere. like if one of the archive stories just had something like, "as Jake woke up in this new strange place, he thought of his boyfriend". just seems more natural and part of the lore if its just there. now people are going to look at every archive story and be like "is this the story where someone comes out as gay?"

you can talk about orientation without talking about explicit sex.

I think it will be meta, because one of the survivors's biggest pet peeves are being healed and instantly downed, I have also heard from tons of people that they are excited to run soul gaurd. Survivors also detest slugging killers like nurse, spirit and Oni, so I can see it becoming meta. Sorry I didn't elaborate that much, I had to do something and I had to type quickly.
its still a very situational perk though. in order to get the endurance, the heal has to be completed. if the survivor healing you bails out before you're healed, the perk didnt do anything. and even if that situation does happen, it'll work maybe once because the killer will just realize you're running soul guard and go after the other survivor that healed you. or just like with borrowed time, wait out the 8 seconds then down you. and in that case they wont be slugging you if they have a hex because they know you're running this perk. or if the hex is broken which lets face it it will be after a while, then they will slug you anyway.
-
this is one of the few games i dont use as an escape, because this game is one of the most stressful games i play.
-
@ALostPuppy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1344368#Comment_1344368
That's not the reason why soulguard is good. It's a nice addition, but it's the endurance effect after getting picked up off the ground that's strong, because if you immediately try to reslug someone who just got off the ground, you're gonna have a bad time.
true, but if you're going up against a killer that understands this perk, then thats only going to work once. next time they see you get healed, they'll either chase you and wait the 8 seconds, or go after the person who healed you.
-
Plague for sure. i love ancient history so she's always interested me the most lore wise
-
i feel like its really only good in niche situations and in a SWF team. unless you're talking with the other survivors, they wont know (and maybe not even care) that you're running it, and will likely get rid of a hex totem because they dont want to deal with it. and even then it only does something if the killer slugs you. the endurance after being healed? i guess for the situations where the survivor desperately wants you healed while the killers coming.
-
stake out and better together. im not good at getting great skill checks so i use stake out instead. and better together because im a toxic gen rusher or whatever
-
i too apologize for the three games i had to be useless, and thank you to the spirit who basement camped someone else. sorry to the person who got camped though.
-
that Dwight challenge is a real pain. and from what i've heard a lot of people only get it done because a killer camped someone else, which is exactly how i got it. i hated being useless for a whole minute (and likely longer because theres no way to tell in game) but i wanted the BP and rift fragments. it didnt feel good or fun to do, or even rewarding since i just got lucky to have a camping killer.
