Do I get to live?
yes, yes you do *crouches and walks away to go kill a Bill or whatever*
-
im a pig main. and if anyone... ever... boops my snoot... they get to live :D
-
i know, i was so happy to see it! :D cant wait for the next one
-
so, are these meant to be universal changes, or is this gonna be a mobile version only thing?
-
i mean, the hallowed blight even again would be nice. i barely got to play it last time.

I must ask something.
Would it be nice, if the addon is basekit, but as weaker version?
As pig you cant see something, because the camera view is too low.
But with this Amandas Letter, you can finally see survivors.
ehhh i dont think it should be base kit. mostly if you're going to do an ambush, its at a a loop where you already know the general position of the survivor, or at a gen which you can listen for if theyre there.
i will say i think the range needs an increase. 12 meter sight but only one bear trap that wont be effective at all? not worth it to me. what should be basekit is Rules Set No. 2 though

@Almo thought you may get a kick out of this as a fellow pig

Actually he isn't.
A newb wouldn't be able to score 22k like that on a loss. You are reading way too much into this.
A newb also wouldn't have zero perks. A real newb would have one perk equipped. Try thinking a little before posting. You are just seeing what you want to see without actually thinking it through.
unless everyone kept throwing themselves at the camper, which the OP said that they did. and unless a newb doesnt know how to access the perk menu, which is completely possible as one of my friends didnt know how. im not saying its impossible it was an alt account, but its also possible this really was a new player.
-
i dont feel like you taught this player anything. i mean... his camping worked, you all got hooked twice, as you said. he might think he played right, just couldnt quite get the last hooks. so i dont think this was as effective a harsh lesson as you think.
-
poor pig :( i cant wait for her add ons to be reworked
-
dont do it survivors, hes just baiting you into giving up your weaknesses! D:
anyway, on a serious note, i dont like Mangled, just makes healing even slower and im still not great at looping so being fully healed is nice.

Sooooo, it's not pay to win.
and aside from the aura reading the bonus bp you get from BBQ you can get from Puddings/Cakes/Streamers.
indeed you can, and you could also stack it with BBQ for even more.

I could get down on the idea of obtaining perks using shards in the store, and take away the RNG aspect of the shrine. Yeah, Ive played this game for about 1 year now, and typically dont buy abunch of cosmetics (the Suzie cosmetic in the picture being one of the few exceptions). I dont play survivor much, so often times I'll use shards for survivor perks in the store so I dont have to lvl a survivor that I dont want to play. For killers... Ive been trying to play each of them, so I dont use shards on killer perks anymore.
Your point on licensed killers does hold water though, these are killers unavailable through shards, as well as their perks (apart from extreme RNG from the shrine). A perk store like you mentioned would be handy to address that. As far as the killers themselves... None of them are top tier. The devs managed to avoid having pay to win killers, by making all the best killers free (except Spirit, who you can grind for with shards). Huntress, Nurse and Billy all come with the base game on PC, while Hag is included for console.
what i was saying with the licensed killers is im fine with having to pay money for them, the characters themselves. i just wish their perks were obtainable through a non randomized perk store. i know they arent top tier, but some perks, mainly BBQ, can be alluring. i just want to be able to get it without the waiting and without buying a character i wouldnt want, thats all i meant by that.
basically, i think all perks should be able to be obtained with shards at any time you want, and the licensed characters are fine being purchase only, and original characters being purchasable or obtained with shards at any point is fine.

Very similar thing that I tell ppl on Warframe. With Warframe, if you arnt willing to "rush" the building time of a character, itll take you at least 3 and a half days. If your constantly staring at that timer going down and drooling over being able to use it...itll go by slowly. If you instead just play and enjoy what you have, or line up multiple things to play with at the same time...waiting for 1 thing would be so bad.
For DBD, I tend to rotate between multiple characters. I play a little bit of Shape, Pig, Huntress and Freddy (I screw around with Bubba every now and then after rank resets). The draw here being just PLAYING. I get excited over getting a map offering on Myers letting me play a "scratched mirror game" because I find it fun. The bloodpoints and shards that result from that...are a byproduct.
This screenshot was JUST taken, take note of the bloodpoints and shards...
ok, yeah i see your point. but also while i was taking note of the bloodpoints and shards, i also noticed your level. its quite high so you've definitely taken some time to get that many. but i do see your point, i suppose given the amount of perks in this game and how long it takes to get even all the non teachables, this isnt a game people should play without expecting grind anyway.
still, there are the licensed characters which cant be grinded for and require either money or luck if you want the perks. this is why i think all perks should just be purchasable with shards on their own. without needing to get the DLC. i didnt get Pig because i liked the perks, i got her cause i thought she would be fun. I didn't get bubba because i dont think hes fun, but i got lucky BBQ was in the shrine. newer players might have to wait for months or even a year though. thats not grind, thats just extreme patience. that, i have a problem with.

but they aren't necessary to "win" they just help you, so it's not pay to win is it. =/
People are using Pay2Win very loosely here.
im not saying its pay to win, BBQ is pay for convenience because it reduces the grind. this is the same stuff going on for Fallout 76 right now. the stuff theyre adding doesnt necessarily make you win, but it sure helps against the people who dont pay.
i dont think any perk is "get this and you win" level. but some perks definitely help more than others. this is why i think all teachable should just be purchasable with shards in their own perk store type thing. and only shards, and not a ridiculous amount. then i wouldnt have to wait for the shrine or buy a character i dont want for a single perk.

If you want to main Hag or something and want to play her NOW, then sure... throw down afew bucks (assuming your not on console, in which shes free). If your under the impression that the perks she comes with in at all NEEDED... That's where id disagree.
The fact that games have grind doesnt mean they should just give away their matierial to players who dont want to put in the time and grind for it. As someone who use to play Warframe for several years and obtain each character without ever breaking the bank, I grew quite use to this idea.
alright, fair enough. still, i dont think perks themselves should be so much a grind. if you dont want to play Hag or any other killer, but want their perk, you have to work towards... what is it, 8,000 shards? something like that? then you have to level that character up, THEN you can use that perk on the character you'd rather play. and if you want multiple perks from multiple different killers, its going to take a long long while.
grind is fine, im not saying i want everything easily, but there comes a point where its a bit much. personally i feel DBD is a bit much

Well yea, because the DLC would never be bought again if it only took you a couple of days to get the DLC.
They still put time and effort into that DLC, they want to encourage purchases, almost like they're a business.
and you definitely don't need ruin to win at any rank, this whole false narrative that ruin is some how necessary to win so it's not pay to win is ridiculous.
i dont think ruin is necessary. and yes, theyre a business, but they can make money without being unfair. i think the DLC prices are fine, but i dont think perks should be locked behind characters or the rather rare chance of it being one of four perks that show up every week. it was rather lucky BBQ got on the shrine a week or two ago. now i dont have to buy a character i dont want just for a perk to reduce the grind. but it should be available without having to buy a character or the stars aligning.

His video mentioned BBQ for the sake of reducing grind, and Ruin for the sake of slowing gens.
While BBQ cant be obtained outside cash or the shrine...Behavior IS addressing the issue its "fixing" in the next patch.
As for ruin, the only other perk mentioned in the video... Hag is purchasable with shards. Considering how often ruin gets destroyed early and the killer then has to spend 90% of the game with only 3 perks, to insist that its required is ironic. As someone who use to play Old Freddy not using Ruin and still managed to play at rank 1... I tend to roll my eyes at the idea that you HAVE to use ruin or HAVE to use the top tiered killers to do well.
the hag is obtainable with shards yes, but this is something that game companies do. can it be obtained without money? yes, absolutely, but how long will it take? how long do you think it would take a more casual gamer to get the hag? someone who only plays two or three matches a day? it would take a while, and thats on purpose. what do you think a casual gamer would rather do, wait a long while until they have enough shards, or drop a few bucks and just get her right away? thats how this stuff is designed, so they can get money from people who want to spend it, but people who dont want to spend hours and hours a day playing.

The DLC is pretty cheap for what it is 6$-11$, your getting a survivor, a killer, and 6 perks, all DLC can also be purchased within the in-game store using iridescent shards.
except licensed DLCs. also the grind for that can be quite a while for more casual players.

BBQ is a great example because you have to literally pray to the bloody Entity that BBQ is one of the four perks in the Shrine out of 125 perks.
There should be a reroll mechanic for the Shrine for 500 Shards. :)
i can agree with the reroll idea. but i also think that because the game has grown, so should the shrine. maybe be 8 perks instead of 4? just to increase the chances further of getting the perk you want.
-
@NoShinyPony said:
Perks from purchase-only DLCs still appear in the shrine. And the original killers and their perks are obtainable with shards. I don't feel like this is pay to win.
Do you have certain perks in mind where you are seeing a problem?
the video mentions BBQ and Chili, which can give 100% more bloodpoints, thus reducing the grind. and while yes perks can show up in the shrine, the chances of the specific perk you want appearing can be very rare, and you have to wait a week in hopes one of only 4 perks is one you want or one that can help you win. i mean, how often are Hex: Ruin or BBQ in the shrine? not necessarily guaranteed wins, sure, but they both meta perks for a reason.
-
im making sure i dont go below 900,000.
-
oh my gosh it does say North Virginia doesnt it? im assuming they just mean northern Virginia, but thats funny
-
I really hope its the case, but i doubt it. battle passes are usually to make devs money, not as a fair way to give players stuff. like i said, usually. maybe possibly this will be different.
-
@GrootDude you have been summoned
-
im buying for fun and because the demogorgon looks cool. im not buying to be able to be a god tier killer.
-
but making it base kit could allow for your strategy to falter. make it base kit, bring Jigsaw's Annotated Plan, and Jigsaw's Sketch. now theres 6 boxes instead of 4. you've miscalculated, you thought there were only 4 boxes so you did one, did a gen, then thought you'd have a max of 3. instead, you have a max of 5. less time to run from box to box and get through it. you might get lucky, might not.
what if i decide to run Tampered Timer? then you only have 2 minutes for a max of 3 boxes. still doable, but more stressful, as it should be with her traps. Tampered Timer plus Crate Of Gears? dirty, but effective if Rules Set No. 2 was base kit.
I somewhat see the point you're trying to make, but honestly you've just convinced me more that it SHOULD be base kit, then i could play a game with a lot more fun. tick tock survivors, tick tock.
-
really? huh... thats interesting. i'll keep that in mind

Isn't one of her ultra something people want in her basekit? The amanda rules 2...or something like that...gotta check her addons real quick
yeah, Rules set no. 2. makes it so survivors cant see the jigsaw box auras until the trap is activated. i too think it should be basekit, because traps arent a threat until theyre activated. in my opinion, make that basekit, and change the add on to be "traps activate as soon as a survivor is able to move" with maybe an increase to time it takes to go off.

I could make a very strong case for Freddy. He went from being one of the weakest killers to one of the strongest recently, with a completely different power and all. He was first released back in 2017.
Not all killers are going to get a rework, that much we can say for sure. A rework would mean giving them a completely new power. If you look at a killer like the Trapper, for example, we wouldn't completely scrap his power and give him a new one. There's a lot of people out there who like the Trapper as is, possibly only wanting small QOL changes. To change him completely would be unnecessary, take a ton of time, and disappoint everyone who's come to like him as is.
With that said though, we are currently reviewing the Nurse's add-ons. We've always revisited older killers and will continue to do so. Unfortunately there's only so much we can do at once. There's a lot on our wishlist, it's just a matter of what we do first.
is Pig's add ons somewhere on that wishlist by chance? its a little odd that a common add on (combat straps) is considered one of her most useful add ons, and her ultra rares are either useless or very niche.
-
i run stake out because im horrible at getting great skill checks and this helps me not screw it up. if only i could level it up past tier 1 on my level 34 Tapp!

toolbox usually. either just for repair or sometimes saboing cause im weird and do that even without dailies.

surveillance. by far my favorite. only using the Surge icon cause im excited for the perk

i think the demodog head is meant to be pointed instead of round? its really hard to tell from the pic they posted but it seems like it comes to more of a point.
-
you can use the oak offerings to increase the distance between hooks, but like others are saying, you're not really meant to wiggle free unless the killer gets greedy. its simply meant as a slight time saver for the team, and a way to make sure you arent held by the killer forever and also not brought to the basement every time

i... how... what.... but... i cant, i just cant fathom.

random perk challenges, lack of confidence, specifically so they can see posts like these on the forums and giggle to themselves.

Also I'll add that I also suffer from anxiety and definetly understand where you are coming from.
I often gets...idk how to explain, kinda like uncontrollable cold shivers when I play my first game of the day.
It shouldn't prevent you from playing the real way tho. If anything take a few seconds (even during the trial) to calm yourself down and go when you are ready.
As for the survivors, after you've farm a lot of BP you should have unlocked a few perks you like so start trying to use them.
As a tip if you don't like to be the one chased by the killer, go for an immersive build.
I offer my own;
(Psychic)
1- Premonition
2- Selfcare
3- Urban evasion or Lightweight
4- Lithe or Dead hard
thanks man. ive definitely experienced the cold shivers when playing too... when i paly survivor i main Tapp, Stake Out helps me know the killer is nearby, and makes me worry less about getting great skillchecks. but thank you, i'll keep those perks in mind as well.

i feel her add ons need some reworking. her ultra rares are... eh. Amanda's letter seems to be either really great or really awful depending one what pig main you talk to. Rules set no. 2 needs to just be base. at least make the traps a slight worry and not just an annoyance.

He's got a pretty lengthy stun. Assuming you're not way out in the open, that should be plenty of time for you to get to a pallet or a window before he can hit you. If you are in the open, you messed up big time. That's the last place you want to be against a hillbilly.
not to mention, depending on distance, you can still just run right or left if you're in the open and be fine.

That would be cool ngl, I would have it to all of those, but the camera follows the survivors face until it snaps, then you see amanda look behind herself and say game over, followed by the laugh of the billy doll (Please tell me thats Kramer's dolls name)
im pretty sure it is. havent seen the movies in a while to be honest. but that would be really cool. i cant really think of anything for the other killers though.
