  • you can’t report someone on the forums for something they did in-game.

you need to have made an in-game report for one of the four category’s. If it was chat harassment or so it will be enough for that report. If it is something that requires further evidence in form of clips then you need to make an additional player report ticket here:

    https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

You can find more information on game rules and reporting here:

but ur saying it like EAC is gonna ban me for changing graphics settings or disabling vsync

I am saying it is possible.

currently it is not happening and I don’t have heard of it happening before. I am just saying it could theoretically happen.

most of those settings don't affect any gameplay and don't give you any advantage, or any exploit

as long as you don't use the ones that might do such thing and upset the EAC

Yeah but if an EAC update ever does ban for a minor setting then it’s done. So i guess it should have been mentioned

So yeah. Never bothered doing it before as I worked too much and hadn't the time. As it so happens I work from home now so I have that time.

The only people who agree getting killer R1 in SBMM is easy are those who can't do it and those who are trying to flex like a Nurse main. No one that plays M1 killers does.

Now go on back to that copium.

Damn. I see that it is really hard for you. Luckily there were those tests that probably made it easier for you 👍

i am not the one that needs to cope with reality

  • You mean the survivor animations for running etc right?

i still don’t get how people thought the old injured running looked better or less like ‚surv has stomach cramps‘. The new animations are definitely better, though still here and there a little bit stiff/unnatural

  • Yeah it’s not gonna work because people would just abuse it as others already pointed out.

though I would like some accessibility setting where it can be implemented for different phobias (like an Emetophobia setting where Plague doesn’t make vomit sounds and graphically it gets adapted to something neutral - think how Grounded made the arachnophobia setting - of course it would need to be implemented in a way that it doesn’t give an advantage)

No, it isn't easy enough to use someone else profile and write your forum name under the summary. You don't have to add anyone as a friend either. You simply set it public long enough for someone to view it. You won't prove it because you don't have it. Take care.

it doesn’t even matter if I have it or not. There are plenty of users here who got it and agreeing that it’s easy vs you who is definitely in the minority, pretty new to the game and only got it once and that during matchmaking testphases 🤷‍♂️

  • Keep in mind any change to game files that lead to an automated ban by EAC won’t be lifted by BHVR and it’s use at your own risk.

for that parameter, I read the range is 0-3. not sure how correct that info is though.

  • Something is up with the Observer for sure.

but if this is related to the next chapter or if it’s just something fundamentally about the future rifts I don’t know.. the very next Midchapter will bring a new tome/rift after all and apparently, the Observer is gone?

  • "small indie game company" argument

when has BHVR ever used that argument? I have only seen it being used to attack BHVR but never seen it actually.. (not saying it never happened but surely there are recent examples?)

    fixing what isn't broken

eh.. very subjective and you don’t know if there was still something broken or about to break with other additions

otherwise, I don’t disagree. There is plenty of broken stuff in the game

It's easy enough to put a message on the profile to prove it. But like I stated I didn't expect you to. Those who can do, those who can not write fiction on the forums.

And it’s easy enough to just use someone else’s profile and still write fiction - which you would accuse me of anyways judging by your behavior in this thread.

i have my profile set on private and won’t add you as a friend just to proof I got the Iri 1 killer achievement. There is enough people here on the forums already having this done and still agreeing with my point that it’s easy.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2892339#Comment_2892339

Link your profile. I'd like to see your achievements Mr. Easy Iridescent. That post is the exact opposite of what you are saying. I'm telling the devs to ease the difficulty because it is absurd what one has to do to get a pip as a killer.

I won't hold my breath waiting for you to link your profile though. I'm pretty sure I won't find a killer of any real measure and more a survivor that assumes the ease of pips on that side means it's the same for the killer side.

I won’t give you my profile info.

i have all achievements unlocked. If you don’t believe me then why on earth would you believe me by showing a profile which could just be not mine?

sorry. You are clearly new. Just keep playing and you will notice that it may seem difficult in the beginning but it actually isn’t.

(and you literally commented in that that thread it wasn’t hard to get to iri 1 but it was not fun)

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2892320#Comment_2892320

Dude, you're playing in low ranks with low mmr. You have no clue how much more difficult it is to get to IRI. It's not even comparable. 3k games are NOT A PIP. You need 3k plus a gang of other crap and in many, many, cases a 4k still nets you +1, not +2.

The survivor quality is also exponentially better. You don't have newbs wandering around lost to same degree of matches. Most of your matches become sweaty with a good does of "you never had a chance to begin with".

dude. Don’t assume you know what kind of matches or opponents i get. I am not playing in low ranks, I am currently gold on killer and that while not really playing much. I have been iri before.

its not hard to pip in general. I am not saying it’s easy to pip in every single match. And we were not talking about getting double pips.

You are exaggerating and overestimating iri grades in their current form.

edit: oh wait you are actually agreeing with me that it’s not hard to reach iri 1 as killer. Well. Nice try though.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2892284#Comment_2892284

Uh huh. Yeah, no. It is not easy to pip as a killer, it is not easy to rank 1 as a killer. Just because there is a floor to which you don't fall beyond does not mean you are given pips in the game nor that you never get stuck.

It is relatively easy to pip as killer. Trust me. I am awfully bad as killer and get pips or at least black pips consistently.

it may be not as easy to hit iri 1, but that’s just a matter of how much time you play before the reset.

sorry. But the current system with the full reset each month is not a good indication of skill.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Because if there is no way to distinguish skill levels then there is no need to have diversity in owned perks and add-ons. What will be the best-equipped killer or survivor net for you? A dull grey circle that is the same as everyone else. For all that why not do away with names displayed too? Might as well.

there is no way to distinguish skill levels with the current grades. It wasn’t really possible with old grades either and it’s not really possible if you could see the MMR score (though at least that one is used for matchmaking).

having perks and addons is also not really related to skill? It’s more a system to have something to unlock/play for. You may get more/faster BP if you are higher skilled but it’s not necessary to be high skill to get BP at all.

Names are kinda needed for reports.

and it is pretty easy to pip as killer. Since you can’t really fall down a grade anymore it’s really not that hard.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Then why bother with blood points or webs either? We might as well give everyone all the perks and play the game pointlessly. I mean if there is zero point to ranking up, no one will know it, then its like a cosmetic that no one will see on your character but you.

what do BP and perks have to do with this?

Grades are now mainly used for grade rewards on the 13th of a month. It literally doesn’t have another point. You can easily pip up without any skill and you can be highly skilled but are low grade because you haven’t played for a short while. What’s the point of others knowing your grade? And if it means so much to you you can screenshot it and share with friends/social media.

  • Yeah hopefully they leave it out.

instead use the characters portraits there (or just leave it like it is now)

  • Then I guess you should create a thread in the technical issues section and describe your problem their and mention that the regen option didn’t help

Hey switch user here, the report system seems far more narrow on switch, I can't write anything, can't put screenshots or clips, not that dbd let's me do clips anymore.

So can they even be taken seriously when I can't attach any proof?

You need to make additionally to the in-game report an additional player report ticket directly on this site for the support team (and there include player info, evidence etc):

    https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

  • Probably due to matchmaking tests and people still using grades as form of feedback on how the matchmaking wasn’t good.

hopefully this time it just stays disabled

  • @Ashendale said:

Tinkerer isn't overpowered by any means. It only gives 16 seconds of undetectable, and activates in a very predictable fashion, a maximum of 5 times. Yes, it's better on killers with higher mobility/map control, but still not overpowered.

It's also not as if the killer is crouched at a starting line, waiting to dash in that direction, either, so you're lucky to get 12 seconds worth of actual use out of it.

5 times is the minimum it activates (if the killer is not already stomping the survs in which case well… matchmaking).

and high mobility killers (that already have it the easiest) don’t need to wait to dash. They can get to any gen from anywhere in no time.

it’s not completely overpowered of course - and nobody said that. It could still use some fine tuning to bring it more in line with other perks and without benefiting only the most powerful killers?

If console was fixed optimisation and performance wise to an acceptable level, then less people would be looking to jump ship.

It’s sad really and quite depressing to not feel valued as a format while content is still being sold on it.

I was really hyped for Sadako as wanted her since before Spirit was added and thought after that we would never see her; but after returning to test a few games out there has been almost no progress made to address the performance issues that have severely plagued older hardware since the Nemesis DLC. There’s just no point buying content for a game that doesn’t function well, especially when there are next gen games like Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands running great and without issue on last gen consoles while having a massively bigger scale, looking a lot better, and having many more game systems in place during play than DbD.

If the game was improved to a reasonable level on older hardware, I would not be as fussed about cross progression and would just go back to supporting the game by spending my money on the DLC for my current hardware, but I just don’t feel valued as a player any more.

    Completely understandable.

i bought the game on Switch because they promised cross progression for it at almost the same time as Steam and Stadia (and because it was on sale). Thought it would be great to have a way on the go playing with my progress… but holy…… that performance.

And here we are. Tinkerer nerf posts. Woo. We made it boys!..

Tinkerer doesnt need a nerf or a change.

"Ohh gee killer loses terror radius and im in solo queue therefore perk is too strong pls nerf"

Seriously? Ya dont see how this line of thinking becomes problematic? Because some of you solo queue, you feel like killers perks need to be nerfed because its too strong for solo queue?

I mean for full on whataboutism here, why doesnt oblivious effect spine chill? Not very fair for killers is it?

"Oh just turn your head so you arent facing the survivor"

But so far this argument is straight. "Whaaa tinkerer is hard... i hate it. Whaaa it hurts solo queue whaaa"

"Whaaa it activates multiple times so killers can defend their gens to help with there progress in the match and stops ours. This isnt fair whaaa"

“SoloQ just have to suck it and here let me invalidate their arguments by acting like they are crying like babies and complaining about aspects they actually didn’t complain about“

you surely can do better than this.

And yeah Spine Chill can use some tweaking as well. Now what?

  • Don’t know about the lags (but holy.. what is that ping??)

In the Q&A dev stream from last October:

@Tayte - "Do you ever take inspiration from fan created chapters?"

Truth be told, no. BHVR's chapters are worked on very, very far in advance due to just how many things need to be considered.

But they love seeing them and reading the comments, if that's any consolation.

this is from GoodBoyKaru‘s summary thread, which you can find here:

  • @Maperson said:

I don't know how they would do it, they said that they don't even look at the creation (fan made concepts) plus they have everything scheduled almost a year ahead

Not entirely true. They said they like to look at them/read them. Though they won’t use any of the fan made concepts or hold a contest since chapters are planned/worked on a long time before release.

  • They stated there were some unforeseen technical issues and they can’t provide an estimated date of arrival. Nothing has changed about this situation as far as they have openly stated so no. Nothing new.

  • Hm. That means we would miss out on the animation of the transformation.

if the killer can interact with lockers I hope it’s teleportation and/or setting traps in lockers (though those would need some twist otherwise survs would just ignore lockers when facing the killer)

Both games have an in game real money purchase store as well as purchases you can make through PSN, the same as DbD.

Yugioh is the same game and progress across all platforms; thought any real money bought currency is locked to that format and it uses the multi format freely given paid currency first before any platform specific ones when making in game purchases of content.

Apex is the same game across all formats but obviously has performance differences with last gen consoles running at 30fps and with the new next gen versions recently updated to run at 60fps, with PC running at more depending on hardware.

I don’t understand how that would make a difference to cross progression though especially as DbD has been out for so many years on these formats and also been so successful.

    Well.

from what I have seen people want to get away from consoles and start on PC with their console progress. And since it is pretty successful I guess the platform owners (Sony and Microsoft) have gotten their fair share off purchases regarding this game on their platforms (DLCs and auric cells). Now if people will get the easy ability to abandon their consoles to then not purchase anything there but on the pc version I guess as the platform owner I would think about it twice to allow this.

  • In the Q&A dev stream from last October:

  • Hardest part for me was to find the motivation to continue. Made several Killer and survivor concepts (though without add ons) and survivor item concepts. But. Now what?

we have confirmation those won’t get looked at even as inspiration for actual content.. (never expected them to outright take any of the fanmade concepts directly but at least as lose inspiration would be cool)

How come games like Apex Legends and Yugioh Master Duel have cross progression between all formats including PC and PS4, but DbD doesn’t?

Genuinely interested what the reason other games can do it but DbD can’t are

Pretty sure you won’t get an official statement as BHVR is still trying to get it and hence probably legally unable to openly talk about the reasons.

though speculation on my part: did those game start with cross progression? Are there contents available that are being shared and thus only need to be purchased on one platform and others would miss out? Is the performance/optimization on the platforms differing as extreme as DbD?

  • Or how about… Tinkerer nerf a la the new Onryo perk and Technician buff to make it… not a perk that’s basically making the surv team weaker?

  • It’s something often brought up in dev Q&A and they just stated it’s harder to implement than one would imagine and it’s nothing they would be working on for the foreseeable future.

i do agree this should be on the priority list. Also the game needs basic controller settings…

  • the new onryō skin is 1485 auric cells. Why? There’s no new voicelines, no new animations, it’s not even a different character, it’s just her but decayed.

Keep in mind it is a licensed character and the license holder had to approve this and they are also getting paid per sold cosmetic to some extent.

Trickster’s ultra rare outfit is just him in a stage costume, while yes, it’s great it has different voicelines, so does legions other cosmetics and they’re cheaper

kinda agree here. Though it’s still not like there are advertising anything differently than they are selling. I would personally never buy such a cosmetic for this price.

the huntress Baba Yaga skin should be the standard for a killer skin of that price

this one is great and a good example of how they are not lazy. Though i don’t think it’s reasonable to expect this kind of cosmetic to be a standard, but for that kind of pricing. Yeah.

if I played Huntress i would at least consider buying this.

  • No, event charms and cosmetics are supposed to stay exclusive it think.

however, there is a light chance that certain charms may come back in future events, I think it has happened before with a charm that was only available through twitch codes. No guarantee for the Greek week charms though..

yes, I was going through a bad time and my temper was #########, but thanks to therapy I am already overcoming that facet of me, and since I enjoyed the game a lot (despite some bad times) that's why I want to come back, thanks again for your help, I will review that section.

You can always try to talk to support about your ban i suppose. Maybe it can be lifted? Worth a shot I think :) also they might give you more concrete answers for your specific situation as they can see into your account and can discuss your ban directly (in the forums discussing concrete bans is against the rules)

really nice to know you went for help and are doing good now

    keep up the good work!

    i second this 👍

  • Another thing: you can save up single challenges that you have done and don’t need to progress to the end of the tome level. That way you can save up bloodpoints for when you get a new character or for an event or something.

@CashelP14 usually makes a thread for the best path to save up challenge but still getting to the end of a level. Here is an example for the current one:

    @CashelP14 said:

Here is my guide to save as many bloodpoints as possible, while also completing the archives.

    Red Line = Collect

    Yellow Circle = Save

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/CBIXIZP4MKVT/sketch-1647443519373.png

Since the game only allows you to hold 1 million bloodpoints at any given time, this is a way to store extra bloodpoints for a later date. This is useful if you want to save bloodpoints for a later event or chapter.

  • DD9AB7AE-53F9-4816-AF54-5CBD36F04956.png

And these two cuties (and me) will always be thankful for that!

  • As far as I am aware you only gain the completion rift fragments once per level even if there is multiple epilogues.

but you do gain rift fragments from the other challenges so it’s still worth it.

  • since their introduction shortly after one rift closes another one opens. I think it’s always tied to midchapter updates (as the content of the rifts do require a client sided update), and it usually opens the Wednesday after a Midchapter release.

you can progress through the (free) track of the rift and once you are sure it is worth 1000 auric cells you can unlock the paid track and immediately get all the rewards up to the level you progressed to. If you reach the end of a rift, the paid track gives you 1000 auric cells back and if you play a lot (like me) then you only have to pay once and then you get each rift.

  • That’s a statement I find hard to believe. Do you have evidence of such a killer in DbD?
