The devs can buff perks to viability without making them too good. Botany Knowledge is good when you are altruistic have a medkit, but it's not required all the time. Prove Thyself is good if you are a gen jockey, but not everyone is.
Theoretically they can.
In actual practice they don't always. This is the team dev team that released Mettle of Man.
I'd also like to point out that Prove Thyself wasn't a buff. It was a nerf to Leader.

I'd like a perk that doubles the items inside the chest. So there are two things in the chest.

Seems like everyone is forgetting that Macros are against the End User License Agreement...people need to read that kinda stuff before they spout nonsense how those being clicked at need to "calm down" and "stop being triggered".
How about you quit breaking the agreement and respect the other side? Doesn't take much to be a little bit respectful, i know y'all ain't children.
If a person is triggered by flashlight clicks in a video game... he's a child. Or an adult with the mental and emotional capacity of one.

You're just one of many, one of many people who pathetically try to justify horrible human behavior by making the other side look worse by saying "lul triggered by pixels". Let me ask you this. If I was blowing an air horn in your ear for 10 minutes straight, would you say "lul I ain't triggered by toys" or would you want to beat the ######### out of me (asks he as if he doesn't know the answer)?
Dude. Blowing an Airhorn in my ear is 1000% different from someone spamming flashlight clicks in a video game. I don't even understand how you can even begin to think the two are anything similar to each other. It goes to show what kind of entitled victimhood complex some people like you have.
I'm not condoning bad human behavior, but I condone whining about things that don't matter even less.
That is actually even worse human behavior than taunting people.

It's actually crazy how they still haven't fixed that "can't heal" bug.

I have no problem having fun as solo survivor though.

You seem like the reason why this community is extremely low tier, your opinion on this reflects it quite a bit.
I'm flattered that you believe I'm influential enough to control the attitudes of people on this board! If only it were a reality and not a delusion.

They just need to put in an activation hardcoded limit so it can't be activated more than like 2 times per second. This also solves the issue of macros being used to achieve the same effect.

I love how no one has been able to help me in terms of how to play against her.
Just people saying she needs buffs.
To counter plague, depends. If you can loop, don't cleanse. And that's all you need to do really. Gen rush the gens, if she finds you loop. lather rinse repeat.
If you can't loop, cleanse, then hide when she drinks the puke. Use the sound effects to judge when to genrush and when to hide. be smart about your cleansing, don't cleanse when you're about to touch a dirty gen or unhook a survivor, and cleanse in faraway pools so she has to walk a long way for her powerup.
As for Plague's power being Survivor-controlled, that is not entirely true. PART of her power is survivor-controlled: Corrupt Purge. Everything else? Is entirely in her power.
That includes:
- Shutting down all healing. The entire healing mechanic is chucked out the window. Oh you brought Selfcare and Botany knowledge? Useless. Oh you brought a medkit? Inner Strength? Hahahhaa. Not even the mighty Auto Didact works. All Useless!
- Shutting down stealth. Oh you want to Iron Will and Urban Evade around the map? Sorry, can see your green glow from a mile away, and you're coughing so loud it wakes the neighbors.
Basically her power reads: "All survivors are Broken the entire game. They also cannot stealth. Survivors may opt out of this power by giving Plague a machine gun."
It's nothing like Billy and Leatherface not being able to rev because survivors put sugar in their gas. Billy and Leatherface don't have anything BUT the chainsaw. Plague does so many things without Corrupt Purge.
-
Hell no.
I don't need a Nurse 2.0 that can wall hack.
-
Good that people are finally realizing that Plague is not a weak killer. She is a strong killer.
But the propaganda rhetoric here likes to say Plague is weak and a worthless killer at the mercy of survivors. Probably to avoid getting her nerfed, and to ask for buffs later down the line. That or they're just drinking all the Streamer Kool Aid.

There is absolutely no point except to bm, and that shouldn’t be encouraged.
Why is it such a problem? It's not just to BM.
I do it to catch a fellow survivor's attention. Unless you're saying I'm BMing my teammate? People who get offended by innocuous things like flashlight clicking need to grow up. Most mature people aren't even affected by people straight out badmouthing by saying "GG EZ" because you know what? Self esteem is something that can be earned from things outside video games.
If you are getting affected by these little taunts you may want to consider what the meaning of your life is. No seriously. Why are pixelated words and clicks in a video game affecting you like this? Time to look into yourself and see why you are so affected by these things.
I can understand the frustration of losing, but little taunts like this? Seriously.

What if you don't have Inner Strength? Not everyone paid to get Nancy. Also if you got a guy like me running around for totems then Inner Strength is useless.
Same for medkits. If the killer brings Franklins Demise you get screwed. Obviously if you are a very good survivor and can loop a killer that won't bother you but most people can't loop the killer for a very long time and they are going to get injured. Again same with getting healed by others. You have to find someone which takes time and that other survivor is proly leaving a gen to heal you its not like time is not wasted somewhere else.
I think selfcare is actually a pretty good bet.
Sure, I understand not everyone bought Nancy.
But even if someone is hunting totems it's almost impossible he'll get them all before the Inner Strength user gets at least one. You bank one at the start of the game and you have an 8-second on-demand heal later in the game. If nobody was doing totems you may be able to do it again once or twice more.
I have never had problems using Inner Strength. The only exception I can think of is if I got found early and didn't get to cleanse at the start, and spent a lot of time on hook and in chase while someone else broke all the totems. Hasn't happened so far yet and I've been bringing Inner Strength in a lot of games.
Now if you want to argue Franklin's screws medkits. Well guess what? Sloppy Butcher screws Self Care. Worse than Franklin's I might add. And Sloppy Butcher is a lot more common than Franklin's (and they usually run Thanatophobia with it to boot). You know what else screws Self Care? Plague. Though to be fair Plague screws the entire healing mechanic, period.
Self Care is not a good bet. It's convenient on demand healing, but at the expense of pretty much losing the game if you don't understand how and when to use it.

I don't understand why people watch streamers that just play videogames, such as the DBD ones or even people like Ninja. To me it's just boring, and I'd rather just play the game myself. I also can't stand the egos some streamers have, acting like playing a videogame is akin to performing a life-saving surgery. No shade to anyone who likes watching them, I just don't get it
That's not the worst of it.
Game streamers become the role model for young kids who watch the. This became painfully obvious to me when I saw how the behavior of my nephew changed. He used to be such a cute kid, but as he started following certain streamers like Sniper Wolf and some others (I don't remember) he started picking up all their infantile mannerisms -- the nonsense cutesy junk they do to attract viewers.
Disgusting.
Streamers are like the sports athlete stars of last century. Just as people were idolizing people like Michael Jordan and wanting to become like them, people these days idolize Ninja and his ilk. It's a shame that a lot of them are such terrible role models and the way they conduct themselves is not how I'd want to raise a child.
It's worse for streamers because, unlike pro athletes whose words you only really hear in interviews, post fight etc. streamers constantly communicate to their audience. So you really see all their painfully annoying mannerisms and personality quirks, and children just soak it all up like a sponge.
Terrible.

Thanks for the input everyone.
I think there is a point in a game where you realise 5 gens aren't getting done and at that point you know you are in horrible grindy game where you have to outlast the fellow survivors.
Morale drops pretty quickly and people go for cheap points or try to escape from the hook etc because they don't really care..
That point came pretty quickly in this game. Ghostface was running Ruin and also Nurses Calling which is a pretty potent perk for a killer with no terror radius.
I hate Ghostface!
I love dueling Ghost Face in stealth battles.
I like to bring Ninja Feng with No Mither, Urban Evasion and Iron Will. Sometimes when I am not particularly serious and messing around I try to stalk Ghost Face and creep up on him all game long. He finds me eventually though when I screw up.

My Prestige Suggestion: every level of prestige you do for all characters gives you a permanent 1% Bloodpoint bonus.
If you have a P3 Dwight you get a 3% BP bonus on all matches. If you have a P3 Myers on top of that you get a 6% BP bonus.
Or maybe separate it by killer/survivor, I don't know.

In your scenario, you did not suicide on your first hook.
You also waited to be rescued and gave the match a try. Which probably bought enough time for your team to not feel the sting of being down a player as much as the 60 second people here who go 'I don't like <Killer/Perks> so I will do nothing, get hooked, and force a death! Durr! Only MY experience matters!'
Yes, though technically I died within 60 seconds or so of the match.

Camping and tunneling is the exact same as gen rush. Just Killers being efficient as possible, nothing wrong with that.
While there is some merit to what you say, it's not a complete equivalence, because camping and tunneling especially deny a player the opportunity to play. Genrushing doesn't deny anyone anything (except the killer getting 4K's maybe). Killer still gets to play, even if he loses.
The fact that genrushing can be done in this game is frankly also a problem. I imagine that the game was originally envisioned by BHVR to not play as a genrushing game but as a sort of atmospheric creep around and try to finish the gens game, not one where everyone is run and gun kill and gen rushing.
I don't know about you, but I don't find 5-minute games enjoyable. Either as killer or survivor.
-
Least fun to play: dunno maybe Clown. I just don't find him an appealing killer and his power is boring.
Least fun against: Wraith. Wraiths tend to be campers and tunnelers. And Wraith mains generally (not always) are immature tryhards and will GG EZ you at the end of the game after tunneling and hook/basement camping. Spirit is only a close second here.
-
It's a good perk, but it's actually a horrible perk because it underscores fundamental design flaw problems with the game.
A perk like BT should be baseline across the entire game, because camping and tunneling should be discouraged as much as possible.

Actually, we SHOULD apply the same logic, because you're still dealing with fraking HUMAN BEINGS.
And you ARE in charge of other people's fun in a TEAM GAME when you (using the 'royal you', not you in specific) when you suicide on the first hook to avoid a Killer you don't like, and thus ruin the game for four other people.
Suiciding on the hook is the EXACT SAME THING as disconnecting; you're bailing on the game and screwing your team over. it does not matter HOW you did it; it's the results that matter.
You bail, be it DC or hook, and your team suffers, because you were too much of a freaking toddler to accept that not every match is going to go your way, or only use perks YOU like.
(Again, using 'you' to mean our hypthetical hook-suicider. Not you, the person I quoted)
I sort of agree, but not really.
There are times when suiciding on hook makes sense.
For instance, I just finished a game against Pig where I got caught 5 seconds into the match, downed in a half a minute, got bear trap. Then someone unhooked me. Pig tunnels me, now I'm in a bad spot and can't even loop or prolong the chase, I'm down again in 5 seconds and back on the hook.
Now, I could continue playing, and to be fair I've had many games where this same scenario happened and I pulled a clutch escape at the end.
But at the same time, it's much more likely that pig will just kill me the moment I get off the hook. Assuming someone even bothers to unhook me at this point. I'm not interested in wasting any more time in this game, so I'll just not struggle and die, and move on to my next game.
Now if you are telling me that that kind of behavior is unacceptable, we can simply agree to disagree. You are not changing my mind.
It's a little different scenario from the Freddy scenario given, but that just underscores how bad some builds in this game are and how they aren't healthy for the game.

That's fair. I half agree.
But the games are short and queue times are not. If one could just "jump into a new game" like people say, is likely not care. But that's not the case. As killer on PS4 I can likely find another game quickly, but he damned the others to losing the game unfairly and they have to queue again.
Queue times are short for survivor, so it's no big deal for me.
The killer side may be a bigger issue -- but the killer got a legit kill so he can't really complain.
I think it's a little different for PS4 players. I hear on PS4 it's survivor queues that take forever and killer queues are fast and quick. It's the opposite on PC, and doesn't look like a big deal here because it's survivors which are inconvenienced by this behavior not killers, and survivors can easily find a new game in seconds.
-
I hate streamers with a passion.
Maybe I should try it sometime. Be the evil that you want to destroy...
-
Well there are potato survivors at every rank. I have had games like that in Purple ranks.
In Red ranks haven't quite had a game where all four survivors were braindead like that, but even in Purple it's not uncommon. I've played a few games like that myself where the survivors were just hiding around scared. And I don't want to generalize, but when it happens it's usually Nea and Claudette mains I'm playing with.
It's also not that uncommon to have games where no survivors did any gens, usually that happens when Ruin is active and nobody can find it, and the killer is just good at map pressure. It also sometimes happens when stupid things happen, like every gets slugged by the hook due to dumb plays that sounded good at the time but in hindsight weren't.
-
I like the flavor you put on Paragon, Up the Ante and NOLB especially. You are keeping in mind the concept behind the perk and making the game effect reflect that. Kudos.
Veteran though: would you allow that to stack with Lightweight? This could conceivably result in no scratchmarks at all, or them disappearing instantly. (Which is something I've always wanted as a Survivor).
-
@NuclearBurrito said:
A ton of perks need buffs.
And honestly, I'm not worried about power creep.
The actual reason why power creep is an issue is due to how it usually happens. Devs add a new thing which is stronger than the old thing, now the old thing is useless by comparison. Repeat when they add a new thing again.
Buffing an existing perk up to the level of other existing perks is not power creep (although it can result FROM power creep). And the perks being used as our top level are perks that have existed for most of the games lifespan.
I can appreciate that there really are bad perks that need some attention in the game.
But at the same time I do not think buffing all perks to the level of some of our meta perks is a good idea. There are some meta perks in the game today that frankly are too strong and need to be nerfed, reworked or toned down.
It seems a little haphazard or even irresponsible to want to buff everything to their level.
Imagine a survivor with four perks each as powerful as Decisive Strike. That's not going to be fun for anyone. Four perks as impactful as Ruin. No thanks.
-
Ah, I see your point.
Well, the main issue here is that there are really BS builds like Jump Rope Freddy which are just 1000% annoying to go up against. I can understand his feelings, I sometimes just don't feel like playing against certain killers because it's either hopeless or just a damn slog.
In those cases it is better to just suicide/die on hook then move on to the next game or do something else.
I get that playing online entails a certain level of responsibility, but ultimately you are not in charge of other people's fun. It is just a quick 5 minute game online, with people you don't even know. There is no need to get so uptight about it. If the game is just bad I don't see a need to prolong your suffering.
It may seem similar to a baseball game with your friends, but to be honest we shouldn't apply the same logic to real world relationships to online anonymous relationships.
-
I understand that. And I do that myself all the time. But just saying you still have to worry about it eventually, unless you are downed before it expires.

@Peasant said:
Okay, Self Care accomplishes a lot of things that I'd argue make it worth running in just about every build.
The first and primary focus is that it has unlimited uses. The whole, "Just use a medkit." argument seems to forget the fact that people that like Self Care use it because they find themselves injured, a lot. So just bringing a medkit is unreasonable. Not to mention, Franklin's Demise exists and we'd greatly prefer to always have a healing option regardless of what the killer is running/doing.
The second focus is the time saved I won't go into details because @twistedmonkey has already done an excellent job explaining it, but in summary, it's faster to Self Care then try and find a teammate with Bond and hope that they don't screw up skillchecks.
However, there's a final benefit to SC that some people dismiss, skillcheck practice. Since Self Care is healing at 50% the speed of a regular heal you're almost guaranteed to have at least one skillcheck to deal with. So I'd argue having a small chance to "get your head in the game" in the game might help people start hitting more great skillechecks later in the match.
Skill check practice isn't really a valid argument. If you want to practice skill checks, make it useful to the team and do it on generators.
Self Care was actually a lot more useful during the old Freddy days. You could wake yourself from the dream world by failing a self care skill check. I remember a lot of the trouble I had against Freddy back in the day was because I refused to use Self Care.
I never used or liked this perk, even during its heyday. Now that it's been nerfed it's even not even worth considering on its own. The only time I bring self care, is if I have both Botany Knowledge and a medkit on me. That makes the self heal pretty fast. I like to focus on builds sometimes and sometimes I focus on healing builds. But ever since Inner Strength came out I have seen absolutely zero need to run Self Care, at all. Inner Strength is just superior.
-
Well.. someone necro'd it. I have been known to have undead tendencies.
Selfcare might be a timesaver if you're just running around like a headless chicken doing nothing and hoping you run across a teammate.
But nobody plays that way. Well except may be newbs.
People with Bond can easily find a teammate in under 16 seconds, if they really wanted to be healed. I run Bond all the time but I don't always look for someone to heal me. I only usually do that when I'm on deathhook. I just keep myself busy and useful to the team doing stuff -- like gens. Usually from a safe distance from the killer (the knowledge you get from Bond actually helps you figure out when the killer is near or if you are in a dangerous spot).
If you want to really heal yourself, it is much better to bring a medkit. And here's something that puzzles me: nobody is bringing up Inner Strength, which is just so much better than Self Care it isn't funny.
And yes, totems and medkits run out. But if you are being injured more than two times in the match (and you're not fighting Legion) something has gone wrong. Imagine self caring yourself 3-4 or more times during a match? That's like 2 minutes wasted doing nothing. Some matches don't even last 5 minutes. The limited number of times you can heal is not an argument against medkits/innerstrength and it doesn't support Self Care at all. If you are self caring yourself more than 2 times in a match you have basically handed the killer the game.
-
Wow dude. Just wow.
Take a chill pill.
If the guy wants to loop the killer around let him. That is great for me. Here is the truth: It is impossible to finish gens and escape unless there is a good looper on your team. Either that or the killer you are fighting is a newb or just plain bad.
Against any decent killer you will never finish the gens unless somebody is able to distract the killer long enough for everyone else to finish. And that is never happening any other way than through running the killer around.
The game actually needs more people like him.
-
I would use Big Fun over WGLF any day. Actually I'd use both at the same time. Bully I think wouldn't go well with the killers at all. Queen Bee is something we have needed forever.

so I'm a killer main that's been to rank 1 and back again. not a fan of red ranks anymore. I'm tired of being sweaty, and now I enjoy trying just hard enough to challenge the survivors I'm playing against...
but could I get in trouble if I like... let people go on purpose?
for example, I was in a game with a group of 2 and 2 solo players. one of the swf got downed hella fast, so they both DCd within the first 2 mins... so I let the other 2 just kinda mess around and get some points. like I downed both of them, hooked one, then brought the downed one to his hooked teammate so he could unhook and do the gens. i felt bad for them. is that a no no?
That's fine. As killer I let go people all the time. I have never gotten into any trouble. It's actually funny oftentimes I go into a game with the intention of letting all four of them go (I'm usually just doing a killer daily) and they still end up dying due to a series of mishaps on the survivor part (like a DC, or someone didn't bother rescuing them on hook).
And trust me as a Survivor, when a killer lets me go the last thing on my mind is to report him for griefing. And as survivors who died while others were given hatch or something I have never reported the killer for "playing favorites" or anything of the sort.
-
No!!! I will curse your Pharmacy and continue to fish Treasure Chests for keys, and escape with Left Behind!!!!
-
Survivor is not easy. But with a little practice it becomes a lot easier.
Pipping is actually very easy though if that's all you want to do. But you need to learn to play a certain way because one mistake can end really badly for you and get you killed.
Since you are familiar with killer you should already know how to run loops a little, and how to avoid the killer's attention. Build on that foundation.
Green ranks to be honest isn't really much better than yellow. If anything the killers are just stronger here so it's easier to get stomped. There are lots of potato survivors at all ranks, even in red ranks. I would actually like to play in Yellow ranks more, I just rank up too fast.
Some tips:
- Play it safe a little at the start if you're having trouble surviving. Don't rush to a gen and maybe go around and look for the Ruin Totem instead first.
- If you want to do gens instead, try using a perk like Spine Chill so you know when the killer is heading towards your gen, then scramble and leave before the killer sees you. You can do this stealthily (don't run and leave scratchmarks) or make a run for it -- killer usually won't chase if you leave early enough. Then move to a new gen.
- If you haven't gotten the hang of how scratchmarks work, get Fixated.
- Do not ever idle. Even when you're injured and scared, be productive. Idling means no pips and BP. Always keep yourself busy. If you want to pip focus on the three emblems: Objective, Evasion and Boldness. Survival isn't always in your grasp. But if you do 1 gen, have one decent chase (can end with you down, no biggie) and get one safe unhook that's usually enough to get a safety pip at least. You can also break dull totems instead of a chase, and heal survivors instead of getting unhooks. You can even sabo hooks instead of breaking totems. If you are scared to do gens because you're injured, do totems, break hooks, whatever. Just don't crouch in a corner and hide.
-
Why should it have a drawback?

Unlimited would make it too strong imo. I’d be okay with it changing to an exhaustion perk and being unlimited or an obsession perk and being unlimited ,but that’s the only way I’d even feel like that’s okay, even then it might be too much. I feel like 6 is a sweet spot.
Rather than an Exhaustion perk I think it should be like Quick and Quiet or Dance With Me. Unlimited, but it needs a recharge of 20 seconds or so. The time it takes to recover is up for debate.

What do you mean?
If Distortion had Unlimited use and worked on Survivor Aura Reading perks, then you could run OOO with it and see the killer all game and never be seen. And I'm sure nobody wants that (except the most braindead Survivors).
Personally I would love unlimited Distortion, but I can see some killers crying that would be unfair and OP. I mean, personally I don't think it would be OP but killers tend to complain about a lot of things (just like Survivors) so they'd probably consider unlimited Distortion a little broken.
So I like CakeDuty's suggestion of having to work for the tokens. The current developer philosophy for perks seems to be to give you soem good effects, but you have to work for them. Some are great (INner Strength) some not so great (Second Wind) and some are downright ######### (Mettle of Man). Still I think this would be an amicable way to buff the perk while keeping killers happy as well. But I'd start it with 3 tokens to begin with then have a way to replenish it, rather than nerfing it down to 1 token at game start.
-
Well it would be a nice to have on these perks, but a perk should be useful on its own without relying on another perk. Part of the reason Vigil is considered a trash tier perk is because its only real effect is to work on Exhaustion Perk cooldowns.
-
Perk Effects I want to see:
- Perk that stops you from bleeding (leaving blood trails when injured)
- Perk that lets you hug a wall to take cover using Active Ability button. Will make you a little less visible to help in stealthing.
- Perk that lets you commit suicide by injuring yourself one state at a time. If used while dying will kill you and you leave the game.
- Perk that lets you remove scratch marks for a hefty price. (still a fan of incorporating this into No Mither)
- Perk that actually makes generators silent while you are working on them.
-
I have this problem too but it's reasonable on my teammates' part to cleanse when they can. If it bothers me I ask them to let me cleanse dull totems in lobby, but I generally don't bother. If I'm stuck without a totem later on in the game I just find someone to heal me, that sucker busted my totem so they least they can do is patch me up.
I find it more annoying when survivors hassle me for going into a locker.
There are times when I was counting on a basement unhooker to unhook me then dash up the stairs to leave a scratchmark trail while I jumped into a locker in the basement.
But when the teammate saw this he ran back down and gestured me to get out of the locker. Killer comes down, whacks him dead, then finds me in locker and now we're both on hook. :)
PSA Survivors: if I jump into a locker from the basement hook I'm not afraid or hiding. I'm healing so when if the killer decides to come back for me I can run up and take a hit to escape! The best thing you can do for me is run out and pretend we both ran away.
-
The only killer I would suicide against is Freddy, but not because he is using Jump Rope slowdown builds.
I rather die than face him sometimes because his Dreamworld effect is so bad after the change it cuts my frame rates in half and turns my game into a slideshow.
Unfortunately I'm the only person who has ever complained about this issue to my knowledge. I blame it on my bad PC but surely there are others here with bad PCs who also have the issue? BHVR has not acknowledged my complaint so it is never getting fixed, which means I guess I'll just have to buy a new computer this Christmas.

It doesn't make sense to me that Vigil affects movement speed, but since it only activates on SPrint Burst wouldn't that make it too narrow a use for the perk?

Unlimited would be great. Though I'd make a stipulation that it only works on Killer aura reading perks.
It should not work on Survivor aura reading perks for obvious reasons.

Vigil.
For whatever reason I have been thinking about it this morning. Such a sad perk in the current state "heavy sigh"...... then so far the only idea to buff it is that you recover from exhaustion while running, which was changed for a reason. Well I have a few ideas for you all this morning.
1.) Increase sprintburst MS%.... right now its 150% increase it by 5% with vigil across all tiers...this idea is more going off the exhaustion idea.
2.) Now vigil means to keep guard, watch etc..... I suggest that when someone is injured or downed and being carried you gain a certain MS%, 5% for now, this will not be a stackable bonus ( MS% wont increase with more then one person downed or Hope), the perk is inactive when the survivor(s) are hooked.
Thoughts, ideas, concerns? Let's discuss :)
Qusetion: what is MS%?
