It's an animation that you can see up to four times per game, in every single game, and it's never changed. Literally the same animation since Dead by Daylight released. Only one.

A new one or maybe release a couple and have them play randomly would be pretty dope.

I just want the ability to change the entity death volume because even on 10% game volume its still too damn loud.

  • @1ettuce said:

Imo they should be created the first time you hook each survivor, would be better than the complete randomness they are rn

too strong, the perk comes to you you don't go to it.

Especially now that gen reg is getting gutted, BNPs still stand as one of the dumbest, strongest, least earned item in the game that cuts down the time spent in a trial dramatically. It seems like it's impossible for me to play more than two games in a row without seeing 2+ BNPs. Something needs to be done about this addon. Toolboxes in general are broken, and survivors know it, but abusing BNPs+Stakeout+Hyperfocus needs to be made a thing of the past, and quick.

What the devs should do is overhaul every last survivor item, BNP in general should be removed completely tbh, if I'm taking chase survivors can easily pop 3 gens if they all do them solo without even trying. New addons need to be given to survivors which do different effects, like they can set traps to see the killers aura down a hallway, or they can protect a gen for 0-10 seconds with a shield or they can give the killer a slowdown effect. Just random stuff in general, but anything which doesn't increase the speed of gens should be fine from both sides.

  • @Veinslay said:

When the new patch goes live, killers will have little to no gen defense while a survivor soloing a gen in 40 seconds will still be a thing

To be fair, survivors currently have little to no defence atm with only dead hard being their only lifeline, and look how the game turned out.. Gen rushing should always be a thing and putting limitations on something means a killer can just knock, hook and get back to the gen all while counting and 100% knowing that the gen still won't get popped, unfair if you ask me.

Actually penalize tunneling and camping on your end and stop with the whole “we want players to penalize it.” Before y’all freak, hear me out: Wanting players to penalize tunneling and camping hasn’t worked and hard tunneling and camping is still the META for killers because by their own admission “It’s the easiest and most efficient way to get a 4K.”

You guys say you don’t want people just clinging to the same perks over and over because that’s what makes the game stale right? That’s pretty much what’s happening at low and mid-tier MMR and certainly solo Q you know why? Because survivors are clinging to their chosen same old build, instead of actually having fun and experimenting with different perks and builds, because it’s the only way to keep from being tunneled and camped right out of the game in 2 minutes.

I mostly run at least the same 2-3 perks and then try to play around with a 4th if I feel I can but honestly all the matches I play are the same because the same perks are being run and every killer claims and/or believes they have to tunnel and camp just to get a win or have fun. So every match is tunnel, camp, slug, rinse repeats

So try this: Actually penalize tunneling and camping on your end. I’m not saying to ban those gameplay styles. I’m saying penalize it whether it be with loss of bloodpoints, or loss of a “merciless killer,” pips, whatever it is that the killers personally play for. Force them to try different play styles. Maybe have it be that if the killer doesn’t go a certain distance from hook after a hook, the hook timer doesn’t start. If they are in chase with the same survivor that just got unhooked within 5 -7 seconds, they get no chase BP? I don’t know, just an idea. I’m sure you have a team that can think up stuff too.

NOW to be fair to killers, this is where you come in with the survivor nerfs. This is where you hard nerf META survivor perks so that the killers actually have a shot at being successful without going against OP survivor perks. As one example, as much as I loved the self-heal aspect of COH, I think that nerf was fair. If killers are gonna be forced to lose their easiest and most efficient tactic, they have to be compensated properly for it. This means everyone has to try something different. This means everyone can play around with perks, play around with different play styles and every match isn’t tunnel, camp at 5 gens, slug, rinse repeat therefore survivors knock out gens back to back because tunnel camp slug because gen rushing etc. This is all just a horrible circle jerk of one side does this because the other side does this because the other side does this because the other side… you get the point. That’s why this game is stale and boring. I also agree with the idea of giving survivors other objectives besides gens.

For me, the most fun games I’ve had are with killer chases, the mind games, cat and mouse with trying to get that last gen popped and each side trying to mind game the other. Add to that the aspect of actually being afraid of the killer, that adds to the tension of the match.

My point is tho, as long as tunneling and camping are the chosen tactics for the majority of killers and they’re given free reign to do it, no amount of perk nerfs or buffs you try to do is going change anything. Now there are of course those killers who will always tunnel or camp no matter what. Because it’s the easiest thing to do and all they care about is winning with the least amount of challenge possible. However, I believe that a lot of killer players and survivor players out there actually want a game that’s a challenge but also fun and has a lot of variety, and I think this would be the best way to do it. Just my opinion.

About 2 weeks ago or so I read a website which stated that they found a document over on the official DBD discord which was titled tunnelling.exe or something like that (which was supposed to be hidden) So they are definitely looking into it, not too sure about camping but I'm sure it must be getting the same treatment. Whatever it is I hope it brings back some fun for both sides.

Now that I think about it though, maybe just giving a survivor 2 health states back like adrenaline does at 2nd hook, but it could also be very oppressive and sometimes killers have no choice but to tunnel, so.. yeah.

  • I'd like to see an experimental mode added on the base console too so we can try out all these random features without having to join PTB on console. It would be convenient to try out the 5th perk slot (which I've suggested before too) and also give them valuable feedback from console players and not just PC players.

  • @Emeal said:

Then what are the incentive to ever get in a chase? Surely this game should encourage interactions with the Killer?

He said BP, not the max required to level up.

Every 3 months, you guys come out with a chapter. While it is fun to receive that much content, that is a very fast and can create lots of balancing, meta, and gameplay issues.

I know the developers pay attention to the stats and how certain things are performing, but I don't think players get asked how fun certain playstyles are even though they meet certain stat requirements.

My suggestion is to just bring a few select DBD players, Killers and Survivors alike, stick them on a zoom call together, and ask them to give you a list of suggestions they hope to see in the next chapter, in reworking previous characters/maps, and what they hope to see in the future.

I wouldn't hire them, or promise you will do what they suggest as you may have reasons not to, but I think you will get a lot of good feedback as you get in contact with some of the largest consumers of your content, who also happen to be in contact with the masses on a daily basis.

It could be super low profile, and I think they would say yes just because they care about the game.

Thanks for all you do BHVR, I love your your game, and I just hope future chapters can help us create a more fun state to play in.

Yeah fat chance that will happen. The only thing that happens to people who "care about the game" is that they get muted.

It looks like someone saw that you wanted to be chased and decided not to chase you.

Which is normal behavior because people that want to be chased tend to not suck at it.

It is not a "I have TTV in my name" thing.

If you don't have TTV in your name then you have 0 say in that matter.

Before I had TTV in my name I wasn't tunnelled this much and I play exactly the same then as I do now.

Because self-care is selfish. If every one wants to use it, they all need the perk.

COH is one perk slot for one survivor that can heal the whole team.

I understand that but the point i'm trying to make is it made more sense to nerf self-care because you could heal while in a chase, effectively making you invincible lol. Self-care you have to run across the map to heal, don't get me wrong I do think it is strong but self care was the better choice to nerf

They could be stream sniping, or getting a friend to do it.

I don't have an issue with adding more measures to make it so TTVs have more fun. At the same time, as a TTV who has been targeted for being a TTV, I'm not gonna put my Twitch as my name then complain that I got attention for it. As along as they aren't breaking the rules, they can have any playstyle they want. Just like how they can target the level 100, they can target the TTV, which they are more likely to do because they can watch from the other POV.

No they're not stream sniping at all.

I could care less about a playstyle until it becomes such a major issue that it changes to the norm. That's the issue here. All I want is a basic feature added to the settings. We have one already on console but it is not working as intended at all.

  • @Zaydin said:

Had a match where all four survivors were running CoH. Do you know how demoralizing it is knowing that if you get a hit and are forced to abandon the chase to defend a generator that they can run to one of any four boons for a free heal and there is nothing I can do to permanently shut the boons down unless waste a perk slot on the incredibly niche perk Shattered Hope? Hunting the Boons down is a waste of time to snuff them out since they will either get relit elsewhere or relit at the same totem once I move on.

Shattered Hope at this point needs to be basekit with Killers having the option of either snuffing the boon out as they already do or an option to destroy the totem, the same way survivors can choose to either cleanse a hex totem or put a boon on it to deactivate the Hex.

Because let's be honest, when people complaining about Boon perks, you know they are specifically complaining about CoH being overpowered given every other Boon perk is situational and its placement has to be taken into consideration to get the most out of it unlike CoH. The only time CoH isn't always useful is if you are up against the Plague.

I mean.. if survivors have to waste a perk to USE COH then you can surely "Waste a perk" to destroy totems.

If it upsets you they will obviously tunnel you more, and there is nothing really wrong with that.

Weird sentence but ok, don't really know how a killer will know if someone is upset or not.

But that's not the point here. The point here is I want a streaming feature that's been in almost every single game since 2015. It's already on PC and it should already have been added on console too. I've listed my reasons for it happening to me, personally and if anyone has a problem with that then it sounds like a them issue.

  • @BabyShrimp said:

    “That's a false statement buddy,”

Seems like a normal match to me, not because you were a TTV. Not to mention, I wrote the “majority” Not claiming it never happens.

    BTW, don’t call me buddy.

Ok cool, if you want it like that you can have it like that.

You're right, you're not my buddy, you're just some random dude over the internet who's salty for whatever reason.

I could care less what you think is a cause of tunnelling because you supposedly "watch a lot of ttv's and hardly witness it", clearly that's a lie because if you actually DID you would see a clear differentiation between players mainly targeting TTV when given the option of a TTV survivor and 3 random survivors.

You don't have TTV in your name so don't talk on behalf of the ones that do, especially when you're just a supposed spectator.

Secondly, why are you taking offence to me wanting an option on console which already exists on PC? It affects you in ZERO way whatsoever but somehow you're angry about it. It seems there's an underlying issue here you have with me rather than the actual game. So what is it? Spit it out now don't be shy.

I like all the changes but Adrenaline. I don't think that perk should be touched.

COH you should still be able to heal, but at the same speed as self-care.

Note - I play Survivor and Killer equally.

You clearly don't play both equally if you think COH should be the same speed as self care lmao, why would anyone run across the map to heal at the same speed as a perk that can heal anywhere?

  • @Chilli_man2400 said:

With the mid chapter coming soon I believe we’re going to get more perk changes. Here I’m going to change the meta perks of how they should be changed. I’ll come back to this thread and see if my changes actually came true.

    Survivor meta perks

    Dead Hard

Simply this perk is to good for its own good. To compensate for its 3rd healthstate we’re removing exhaustion so once it activates it’s permanently disabled if you get the perk to work or not. Endurance will be 0.50/0.75/1 seconds.

If you get hit with dead hard you will gain the broken status effect until you are unhooked.

    Adrenaline

This perk is mostly fine cause like NOED you have to play with only 3 perks and it rewards you in the end. We’re removing the wake-up part of the perk cause we don’t want perks to completely counter killers(Freddy Kruger).

If your unhooked when the exit gates are powered you won’t get healed your healthstate. This is to make it more fair and not reward when your on the hook you should be awarded it when you complete all the gens and not when your hooked.

    Circle Of Healing

This perk went Though a lot. Being incredibly op on the PTB, being very strong on release and still being a go to perk. The main complaint is it has no interactions with the other boons and it can be placed far away. For this we’re removing the self heal action. This will make it so you have to bring a medkit or have someone else heal you. The healing speed will be increased to 90/95/100%.

    Prove Thyself

This perk was buffed long ago and became one of the best. Before I change the killer perks this one needed to be looked at. We’re simply decreasing the repair speed bonus from 15% to 8% per survivor. Which will be a maximum of 24%. Very simple change.

    Killer meta perks

this section will be a little shorter cause there’s only 2 that need changes.

    Call Of Brine

This perk is incredibly versatile but with the 3 gen meta it became overbearing. To change this Call of brine will now only activate on the gen you kicked. The duration of the perk will continue until the survivor stops working on that gen. The regression will be increased to 250/275/300% to compensate.

    Overcharge

This perk while not as strong can be a huge problem with solo players and with the 3 gen playstyle. Just like COB it can only activate on one generator. To once again compensate the regression will be increased to 150% at the start and then 300% after 30 seconds. You can activate the perk once the skillcheck was failed or succeeded or the gens progress hits zero. The perk will shut off to indicate you can use it again.

The killer section was short cause this mainly focused on the gen kick meta. Eruption was already nerfed so we just had to finish it.

These changes probably won’t happen cause I was nice with my changes. There not as nice with nerfs. I’ll come back to this thread in 2 weeks to see if it came true.

Lol yeah... no. All of these changes will kill the game, tunnelling is bad enough already, without that being changed none of these changes would make sense and killers would almost always win, i'm talking a 90%+ winrate.

  • @saym said:

Honestly, I'd like to see skill rating displayed. We don't know how many level killers and survivors we are playing. When DBD was doing a skill rating test, I was matched with very strong survivors and killers, but now I'm often matched with beginners. Matching beginners is not good for both beginners and advanced players. Well let's stop talking about that for now. My argument is to show skill rating as a first step. If there is a rating disparity in matching in this game, please stop hiding it.

You can kind of see skill rating right now, if you die a lot = you get progressively easier lobbies and better survivor teammates.. along with an easier killer and vice versa.

  • @Derix said:

Why don't you use Anonymous mode?

We don't have anonymous mode on PC. I once looked at a killers stream after being tunnelled and he could see my name clearly on the left side of the screen even with the only option we have on console "hide your name" being turned on. So it doesn't even do what it's supposed to do lol.

    @[Deleted User] said:

The majority of players don't care you have a TTV in your name. I watch a lot of TTVs and hardly witness it. Even when I ask about it most will say they don't notice it. The few I do watch that start to claim they are being tunneled because they are a TTV usually aren't even being tunneled.

That's a false statement buddy, I played for about 9 hours yesterday, I was literally tunnelled all night lol. 9 games in a row (as soon as I got on) with the killer targeting me first, and one of those games the killer was a TTV killer, he ignored everyone else, allowed them to unhook me while he stood there in front of the hook (swinging in thin air telling them to unhook me BTW), then started chasing me instantly off the hook. This allowed me to drag the chase to a 5 gen but by the end of it all I got a +1.. I should be getting a +2 if the killer is acting in such a way and the killer should not benefit from it.

Then, I purposely started using chase/anti-tunnelling perks, DS OTR, DH, WOO, and purposely spamming windows at the start.. guess what? the killers started to ignore me and leave me for the end of the game, so there is definitely something up with this set up of perks in connotation to not being tunnelled out the game.

    @MarKrTheDemigod said:

I don't stream nor watch streams so I don't know this - do you get the "TTV" in your nname automatically, or do you have to put it there yourself?

You have to put it there yourself, but each name change costs money, it's cheap, like 9 pounds or something like that. I shouldn't need to remove a name in general though man, I should expect a game to have a basic setting that exists in almost every single other game out there. That's not too much to ask is it?

    @Gandor said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3372318#Comment_3372318

still. The easiest solution is just to remove TTV from name. It does not make any sense to have it in name considering the proposed "solution" by OP was to hide it together with their name. Or am I missing something?

The whole point of having TTV in my name is publicity, not to be tunnelled. I play a HUGE variety of games and just because I am getting tunnelled on DBD and treated differently on there it shouldn't mean I have to go out of my way to spend money and change my name because some sad people want to go after some invisible TTV killer title.

  • " I hope you were just repeating someone else and not making the statement yourself." Please tell me you're joking lol, I wrote one sentence bruh.

And no, dead hard needs to be as strong as it is right now with the way killers are tunnelling, once that is addressed then 2nd chance perks should be looked at.

  • As someone else mentioned, putting a cap on something usually means its a horrible idea for "new survivors"

He's semi right, atleast with "what pallets would be considered worthy?".

Like yeah, shack pallet is easy to plop in the description of the perk. Almost all maps have a killer shack. But, what about the others? Or would it only activate on shack pallet? How would you explain in the description what a "god pallet" is otherwise?

If you don't know the definition of what a god pallet is then I think you need to do some research lol.

  • @Clockwork_Enigma said:

I'm sure that games would feel significantly less toxic if the Survivors and the Killer could chat with each other through the chat-based system that no one otherwise uses.

Why? Why not let Killers chat with the Survivors? Why not give everyone time to speak and understand each other?

This is just bad design and promotes toxicity among players. In a theoretical scenario, if I had the ability to chat with a Pyramid Head in the pre-game lobby, I'd probably have less of a chance to be told to "commit cessation of life" (I'm not risking an accidental ban here) in the endgame chat than if I hadn't the ability to.

Come on, developers, there is no reason to keep Killers and Survivors segregated from each other in the pre-chat lobby. All you're doing by not having this feature is breeding more toxicity and hate among players and it's just wrong.

It's a cool idea and I'm all for it, even an open mic lobby, but ofc everyone cries about what if this or that or blah blah blah, no one's ever happy nowadays and always sees the worst in everything for some weird reason.

My opinions in regards to toxicity.. EVERY GAME HAS TOXIC PEOPLE, THIS HAS NOT CHANGED SINCE I STARTED GAMING 23 YEARS AGO. Now I'll await the people crying about my post.

And how do you make it clear or how should someone judge which pallets, in every map, with every RNG are fine to be destroyed by the killer without any survivor counter play.

It's a toxic perk. Dropping pallets is a survivor mechanic, killers can have perk that interact with them, but your perk is just way to strong and unhealthy

What are you waffling on about?

You asked which pallets, I mentioned god tier pallets like shack pallet, then you're saying it's a toxic perk.. maybe you're just a toxic guy who doesn't like change.

I've played a few games since the update and I've only seen the 3 gen tactic twice, it worked once and only once and that was because we realised what he was trying to do mid-game.

As for the others.. The easiest way to stop a 3 gen is to make sure you always do ALL of the middle gens first to force the killer into long rotations for gens.

So... this part means we agree, right?

And I'm a SoloQ player, and I literally said one of my builds earlier (+DH), that wasn't just some random advice. Like you said, I don't see the seer amount of "3gens from the start" people are claiming and when a 3gens happens is because the survivors let him got it. So, again, "just don't let the 3gen happen".

We agree to an extent lol.

I do think the new killer is oppressive when it comes to 3 gens though, if you're not with a full SWF then it's basically GG.

Ey, just bait the DH, right? It's not gen rushing, is just doing objectives. If you didn't tunnel you won't get hit by DS, even if it's the own survivor who used it to tank a hit for someone. Etc., etc., etc...

So yes, just don't let 3gens happen. Instead of saying "let's do the other gens" pressure the killer until you break the 3 gens. And if you can't do it having all the tools you need to do so, even more when we are talking about the most easy to counter and avoidable power ever conceived by BHVR gameplay designers... well, it's your problem.

Just because you find it easy to stop a 3 gen with a SWF doesn't mean others are able to do it as easily. A killer guarding 3 gens right from the start is an issue when the killer rotates quick, easily regresses gens and also quickly finishes chases. Unless you've got some absolute tools for killers it should be clearly understood that 3 gen locking from the killers POV is very easy to do, especially when on some particular maps they are very, very close, and now throw in the new drones, it's even more of a problem unless the killer commits to a chase or, the survivor removes the drone and the killer is back to replace it. Recreating the dilemma once again. I'm sure the rest of the people in here have clearly explained the issue but you seem to need some sort of step by step visual guide for some reason.

  • @FMG15 said:

That's way too strong. You can get rid of shack pallet immediately especially if you spawned in shack. There is a reason killers can only interact with dropped pallets (aside from blocking not dropped pallets with Blood Favor)

This can easily be circumvented by not allowing specific pallets to be dropped.

Because your perk idea is similar to what Shattered Hope is. You're basically suggesting to give Killers a perk that directly counters DH, rather than actually fixing the problem with DH. Shattered Hope counters boons but doesn't actually address the fundamental issues with them at all. They would both be perks that fix problems with other badly designed perks and are completely useless in the absence of those perks which is bad design.

I mean it's been a lot of chapters since DH has been released, it's clear to me anyway that BHVR want DH to be 50/50, just like pallets for killer vs survivor when you drop the pallet and still get hit. Can't really do it without both sides getting upset.

I suggested an idea which also acts as a 50/50. Just because it directly counters another perk doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad design, look at boil over for example. Iron grasp was created to counter it, still useful. If survivors are really using DH as much as killers are saying then a perk to counter it would sky rocket in pick rate, it may even reduce the amount of people using DH, which is good from the killers POV.

I'm simply saying that BHVR don't know how to stop survivors using dead hard except by butchering the perk just like they did with boil over, this is the easiest implementation to do which will resolve it for killers.

At least support the idea and if it doesn't go how you wanted, what did you lose exactly? Nothing, you gained a direct counter to DH. It's a win/win for killers regardless.. Until they find something else to complain about ofc.

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

There's no fixing it imo. They just need to rip the band-aid off and replace it with a new effect.

Nerfing DH to be fair while keeping its core identity would mean making the perk completely useless. It just doesn't work.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3360479#Comment_3360479

No, this is exactly why Shattered Hope is a dumb perk. It’s just a bandaid fix perk.

Yes, killer loses 1 of 4 perks and survivors lose 1 of 16. Fair enough.

    Are you insane?

What? both sides lose 1 perk.. it's pretty simple, unless you rely on dead hard that much.. I'm a survivor main and still don't use it.

could killer stun itself... comboing with enduring and spirit fury?...

I don't think other perks should interact with it so heavily because it would quickly become OP.

I wonder why killers feel pressured to tunnel- Maybe we should address that BEFORE piling more BS basekit buffs onto survivors? Like, seriously, at this point? The killer buff we got awhile back feels completely overshadowed by the REPEATED survivor additions we've been getting. I play both sides equally, and sadly, my view is that survivors as a whole teach killers how to play. Lose 3 gens in 1 chase? I have bad news. That killer will tunnel. Not just that game, but the next too. And then the next. Survivors chase around hook? That killer will camp. The same can be said for survivors. We learn how to loop, and counter certain things based on how the killers we face play. The only difference is killers aren't given hard counters for free like survivors have been recently. Encourage a healthier, more beneficial play style for killer via rewarding them instead. Not punishing. This game, despite lower MMR belief, is NOT killer-sided. They've brought Solo-queue up recently, which is what they balanced around. They gave survivors basekit BT, and didn't do anything to prevent it from being abused. They're planning on making a weaker version of unbreakable basekit, as awful as that system is. We need to start thinking about health for both sides, AS both sides. I know tunneling sucks, but bigger changes are needed. Like, OVERHAUL level changes. Game flow and otherwise.

They killers feel pressured to tunnel because there's nothing stopping them from tunnelling anymore unlike pre-patch. DS? Nerfed, OTR? Hit them on hook and DH also disables too.

Survivors need more gens to do in general to make games last longer if popping gens is too quick. or something new entirely.

  • The answer is honestly simple, give the killer a perk which allows them to deactivate dead hard for the remainder of the game after that survivor has been knocked, Now that specific survivor and the killer have 3 perks.

  • @jesterkind said:

I think it's a pretty open and shut case, personally: Trapper.

No other killer has as much holding them back for as little reward as Trapper, in the current state of the game. Next up from him would probably be Clown, since both of his bottles mostly do the same thing and that thing is only "decent".

I don't think the trapper is the worst killer in the game at all, if you get 1 trap and the survivors are crazy enough to enter the shack it's practically a GG, especially in a trained killers hands. Or the addons where if a survivor gets stuck they lose a health state and then if they release themselves from the trap they're knocked, won a bunch of games with them red addons easy.

I'd have to say Freddy, his only threatening part is when the gates are blocked tbh.

  • @Skill_issue said:

survivors have the information from the new hud already might as well go all the way so that low level killers can finally start getting buffed

I think what would help would be to give the survivor on the hook built in reassurance, on top of a survivor running to the hook and adding a second 30s reassurance stack to reduce camping, Forcing the killer to go for others and on top of that, give the killer a 30% speed reduction to stop him having the advantage on a hook camp too.

But hey, nothing will ever be done about it and killers will always abuse it, might as well just move onto a different game honestly.

Yeah, killers shouldn't be able to do stuff. You're absolutely right. If you bring whatever perk you're talking about clown's power should just not do anything.

Imagine being sarcastic and it just turning out to be a dead joke instead.

That would be too easy. You want a solution which is fair to both survivors and killers. Deadhard is not run by everyone so making it a solution to block ghost hits would not be OP. Since it is taking up a perk slot it should be a useful perk against any hit, not just the main killer. It works on Nemesis zombies, why not Knight's ghosts?

I think forcing players to use deadhard to counter the knight would cause a spike in deadhard's pickrate and make being a killer more frustrating because they will have to expect it even more.

  • @Pinheadftw said:

THis topic is null and void. Pinky requires a direct hit which for most players can be difficult to achieve, takes a bit of skill to do. So you want to punish skill now? The slow down is Clowns power, his only power. Needs it to chase. It is also an Iri add on, so you wont see it every game unless a High Prestige level clown. I play Clown a TON and I don't run it, it is too inconsistent. Rather extra bottles and more hindered lol. A good team will destroy clown most of the time. Everyone seems to forget this game is MEANT to be killer sided, not survivor. It is 4v1. Killers need these tools to do the job they were designed to do, just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it is unfair.

I get where you're coming from but my suggestion was more for reducing/removing stuns from killers in general by making it a perk and not just the clown

  • @stvnhthr said:

Would it not make more sense to be able to stun the Knight's ghosts with pallets and also make it so you can block their hits with deadhard?

Knight is getting a lot of play, and it is not much fun as it just makes the games really long with constant running back and forth across the map, sort of like Legion on steroids.

Games would be sped up, more fun, and higher scoring if the ghosts were treated sort of like Nemesis' zombies. You could stop a ghost chase with a pallet drop or block a hit with dh to make it a better playing experience.

They need to make it so jumping in a locker despawns the ghost lol

people get offended about everything now days😓 nothing you can do about it. I never understood why you should mald over someone pressing a button fast many times in a game

    me either lmao

  • People really out here crying about someone pressing the L2 button multiple times... lmao

    MW2 lobbies were 1000000x worse.

  • "There should be punishment for people what press button "Leave" or kill themselfs on hook. AFKing is another reason why people are annoyed in low ranks"

Low ranks are very easy to climb out of, sounds like a skill issue to me. Besides that however, yes something should be done about DC'ing because it ruins the flow of the game.

"You refuse to acknowledge that there aren't that many good DBD players on average at all (unless it's SWF). It's not as serious as you're making it out to be."

    • For your level of hameplay it isn´t so serious. But on my level are players much better than you can imagine. And its very common to me to meeting players what are god loopers.

"(I'm talking PERSONALLY targeted just for having TTV in my name)"

    • And I can tell you how many people with TTV suck at everything in this game SO MUCH. Literally I´ve met only one guy with TTV in his name what was capable of something so common like looping killer properly. And do you know what is even more obvious? That these players are the biggest t-baggers from entire playerbase. I had so many teammates with TTV in their names what are t-bagging like madmans even when they were carried as no one else. I´m ending with 10K Objective points every single game and Altruism as well, with the higest amount of points most fo the time. TTV players are not skillfull at all. Most of the time they are terrible players. So most of the time these people are provoking killer to tunnel them and then they are complaining in end game chat.

"someone who gets tunnelled 9/10 games in a row"

    • It has a reason most of the time. Yet survivor mains are refusing to admit why. 9/10 games in row? Well... there are ONLY 2 options. 1st... you´re very recognizable as the weakest member of your team so making you out is forcing better players to waste their time for saving you and not being at generators. OR 2nd option is that you´re provoking killers by t-bagging 9/10 games in row. Do you know what is funny? I have tunnelers in my games as well. And there is a lot of them, but there is one difference. I don´t mind at all. Because I can loop killers for a very very long time. I´m playing mindgames with them and I´m VERY good at it. Because I didn´t refuse to learn how to loop properly. I don´t even need Windows of Oportunity anymore. I´m very good looper and I really would love to see how you´re playing. Because most of the time when I see people complaining about tunneling are people what are not good at looping and most of the time they are provoking for entertaining of themselfs.

"it really does need to be punishing for killers for throwing the game to get 1k with braindead, minimal effort."

    • I don´t want to be the one who ruin it to you, but I´m worried that its skill issue. You can have how many hours you want, but you obviously refused to learn how to loop. Same it was with Eruption. If you were a good looper, which is very easy to learn, you had no problem with tunneling. Tunneling is created by devs. Devs are allowing this as something what should be a standart. And I disagree with them. I agree so much that tunneling is boring, annoying but useless against good loopers.

"If you also scroll up, a lot of different opinions have been voiced here, a bunch of ideas have been thrown around"

    • And lot of theme were most of the time about punishing not rewarding. Which is the only way how to improve tunneling. Or that Hooks over the kills just like TrU3ta1ent suggested over years.

"For your level of hameplay it isn´t so serious"

    • What do you mean "my level of gameplay"? Do you think you're the only person in the entire game who gets sweats and you're the only good player on the game? My games are hella sweaty, very rarely do I get newbie killers unless I party up with someone who's new at the game, which I've done probably 3x since I started playing.

"And I can tell you how many people with TTV suck at everything in this game SO MUCH. Literally I´ve met only one guy with TTV in his name"

    • Ok, this is like the 3rd/4th time someone's brought my "skill level" into question so I'm going to clearly end it here.. I've been playing games for years I'm good at almost everything, DBD included. I used to be the number 67'th wraith (the most used character in the entire game) in the WORLD on Apex Legends until I stopped playing a few months back. I've also had 2 world records in the past too. I'm a lot better than the average player and you are making me out to be. No I'm not being conceited that's the full on truth and if you have an issue with it then it sounds like a you issue.

"It has a reason most of the time"

    • Yes, it's the fact that I have TTV in my name, killers always act like there's some sort of TTV bounty and will ALWAYS pick me over everyone else, at the start of the game, during chase and even when everyone is knocked at the end and they need to go out of their way by ignoring everyone else crawling towards the gate by picking me up, the person who's the FURTHEST away from the gate and would have been the last to leave, it will always be me being picked around 9/10 times, unless I play with a specific friend, then it's always him who's picked and tunnelled.
    • There's even been select amount of games where I've purposely WATCHED the killer ignore everyone else while gens have been getting popped and not hitting anyone until he's found me, and then proceeding to tunnel me out of the game. Of course most games I've survived but some I've had no chance to escape even with the end game starting.

"I don´t want to be the one who ruin it to you, but I´m worried that its skill issue"

    • Refer to above.

"And a lot of theme were most of the time about punishing not rewarding"

    • Hooks over kills would make a difference but it still wouldn't be enough I personally think.
  • No hes not, i've spoken to others who think the same.

this is a terrible idea and seems to lack an understanding of gameplay mechanics.

the solution to "tunneling" as a strategy is to offer alternative strategies that are just as effective or more effective.

Over 1k hours pls don't tell me about lacking general gameplay mechanics. Read other comments in the thread, I've already replied to someone who's said something very similar to you. However, just this once I'll indulge the repetitive comment. It's not a "strategy" if that's all I'm seeing in 9/10 of my games. The game's name might as well be changed to Dead by Tunnelling at this point.

Look at this video and tell me one reason why I should not be able to tunnel you? :D This is average high MMR match I´ve experienced in game most of the time. Fast and pretty clear matches. I tried to get that with another account and man it was such a disaster for killers. Climbing as a survivor was never easier. After week I´m from ASH IV in GOLD 1 and I´m still climbing with 80% escape rate. 5 gens at 4 minutes? Yes. Definitely killer is the one who has to be punished, right? :D :D :D

You refuse to acknowledge that there aren't that many good DBD players on average at all (unless it's SWF). It's not as serious as you're making it out to be. But from my perspective (someone who gets tunnelled 9/10 games in a row, I'm talking PERSONALLY targeted just for having TTV in my name, yes, it really does need to be punishing for killers for throwing the game to get 1k with braindead, minimal effort. If you can't see the issue in that then I believe you are apart of the problem and why you're so reluctant for change is self explanatory.

If you also scroll up, a lot of different opinions have been voiced here, a bunch of ideas have been thrown around, I've also even suggested more gens to do to make games last longer. So it's not just my OG post that's being taken into consideration here. I'm more than happy for you to read and throw your own suggestions out here for myself and others to read, as long as they're not troll posts ofc.

  • @HardhatKrugerer said:

Another thread about tunneling where it should be punished. Solution made by original poster is silly. Make people to have 10 000 (if I overexeggarate it) bloodpoints for hook and only 100 bloodpoints for kill. And if hook him twice. Same person, than no points. If he hook another person than it reset. Reward them for not playing like that. But same for survivors. Give them less and less points for being on one gen. 50% blood points penalization for two people on gen and 75% for 3 people on gen. And ofc... 4 people 0 bloodpoints to any category. If they do gens in lesss than 60 seconds for example, then gens in radius of 64 meters would be blocked and more. But. If they do them for example simultanously with short delay between finishing gens, then they would be rewarded by a lot of bloodpoints for it. REWARD PEOPLE for playing differently. DON´T PUNISH THEM.

Like rewarding less BP would make a difference? I spoke to a particular killer a while back and he said he could care less. It wont stamp out the problem, real solutions require harsh changes.

Sorry friend but you don't get to call this "the most logical" anything. To impose some kind of multi game condition on one side based on a playstyle, that may have been necessary or even unintended at the time, and then have that condition completely hog tie the player for any amount of unrelated games is... Not logical. It is however a sure fire way to kill this game as killers would rather play *insert other game title here* guaranteed.

Ah yes, the "I refuse to learn any other playstyle so nerf it and I'm going to quit" counterargument. It's pretty logical to me to put some sort of cap on it. The point of this post isn't to recommend that my suggestion is the right one, it's that tunnelling is an issue and my post was to create an opening discussion point so as a player base we can come together and figure out the best solution for it.

Tunelling is a stain and needs to be removed some way or another. My first game on and the killer threw the game because he targetted no one but me. It's shockingly boring. We need new playstyles in general.
