  • I think dead hard is fine because of how often it manages to do absolutely nothing.

Only a few survivors will actually manage to get perfect use out of it every time and they could probably use every other exhaustion the same way. Once you know a survivor has it, it's an extremely pathetic perk.

Unless a god pallet is still up and close-by, dead hard will not work multiple times in a game.

Most dead hard users depend on it and panic when you're not attacking them. They start to try & 360 and eventually use it while getting nowhere.

There is a certain skill to it, because while pressing E towards a close pallet is easy, you still have to place yourself accordingly & it might not work if the killer expects it.

"Bait out dead hard" is a legit saying. Out in the open, this perk does nothing compared to a lithe or 99'ed sprint burst.

  • That's the point I think yeah. This is why auras will always be showed above the bubble. They're supposed to be very obvious and obstruct view a bit without blocking the usage of perks related to the action in question (kindred, bitter murmur etc)

  • @Alice_pbg said:

I did it by getting up with unbreakable + 1 for the people rescue

took me 2 or 3 tries...i think... really fast considering I expected over 10 games to get it...

Same! I got it with WGLF and one unbreakable in my second game. I was so happy because I was about to level Zarina just to get For the People..

  • He seems very weak and even his perks aren't that great but I genuinely like his esthetics and I think I'll be playing him quite a bit.

His voice lines, laughs & animations are all great imo. (The third person view of him throwing knives is a bit goofy tho but it's a matter of getting used to it I guess)

  • I don't think they'll ever go back to older releases like the twins etc. They might wanna make a new map related to their most recent killer release to go along the hype of a new thing completely.

Right now people may feel like a small french village for the twins or a cyberpunk style town for the trickster would be great, but will it be as relevant in a couple months? Probably not.

  • The entity's realm would maybe feel like a dream sometimes. They are after all trapped there to satisfy the needs of a godly monster.

In a dream can you always do what you want? Sometimes you'll be petrified or run into place while feeling helpless. I feel like survivors (who if they are getting moried are in the dying state anyway) cannot physically run away.

Some animations have the survivor try to flee without success like the legion's mori. Some just happen when the survivor is already dying on the floor. It depends but I figure they just can't escape whatever they do. (They tried after all; if the player wasn't afk!)

  • Well I didn't expect this kind of post. I'm really sorry about what you're living and the stress you're experiencing but it has absolutely nothing to do with a fictional character. Psychopaths exist whether there is a game version of the monster they are or not.

Trickster will not inspire anyone to become something they were not already.

  • It would be BBQ for me. I can do without if I have other tracking perks but it's just a very nice bonus with BPs.

Survivor wise it would be bond if anything but I've learned to do without as well. Any information perk is nice and it sure feels bad to not have any.

It also feels pretty bad to not have anything while being injured. Makes you feel pretty vulnerable. By that I mean resilience, an exhaustion, iron will, a medkit.. etc.

  • Kindred does reveal killers with insidious. It's a killer with no stealth ability and they disappear after standing still for a while? Just pay attention and it's pretty obvious.

As for ghostface he doesn't deserve a single nerf. It's pretty easy to reveal him and it does benefit you, unless he's walking around, hasn't seen you and you wanna stealth as well.

  • You're supposed to lose generators just like survivors are supposed to get hooked. It's both sides' objectives and if you manage to 4k at 5 gens left then it's the matchmaking that's at fault (or a SWF that's messing around with altruistic playstyles)

If you lose a gen after the first chase, just keep pressuring the other ones. The more gens that are lost, the easier they are to defend. If you forget about keys, survivors cannot escape if even a single gen is left to do. Don't stress about it.

  • I don't encounter nearly as many campers or tunneling killers as people pretend on here. I feel like if the killer comes back to the hook after an unhook they'll be called a tunneler even if they go for the unhooker.

You could leave someone on the ground because there's survivors running around you like headless chickens and you'll be called a trashbag slugger so... I would take these with a big fat grain of salt.

  • Spirit was also very weak in the PTR and was quickly buffed to where she is now. (And has since received addons nerfs).

The twins were aslso weaker with victor being much slower & not being able to do anything against lockers. Of course that's ignoring the bugs because these aren't balance issues, just like main event from trickster slowing him down.

Pretty sure he'll get buffed soon enough if needed.

  • I think it would make the difference in potential power even bigger between killers & survivors.

I don't like when people say that it's ''16 perks against 4 perks''... but if you up the numbers even more, that would indeed be even worse.

I mean most players won't run a full meta build and ignore perks like DS, unbreakable or borrowed time. But add a perk slot and suddenly you can fit one or two meta perks in there while also having your niche build. I don't think that would work out.

  • I wish keys would change somewhat soon because I'd like to be able to equip them for aura reading without being tunneled.

  • Sprint Burst, Lithe, Dead Hard & Adrenaline

  • As others have said, WGLF and BBQ. If it's not related to BP gains it would have to be Bond or Whispers I think!

  • Wow that was very well written and entertaining!

    Thanks :3

  • What I don't like is random survivors not understanding they have to heal to avoid mass slugging and that they need to group up as soon as possible if Victor is coming to down injured people. Kick him and pick up the slug!! Don't just start running away. Don't group up around someone that has Victor on their shoulders and if you think they trapped a slug or a hook with Victor... CROUCH like it's a hag trap.

I love going against them in general (and I love playing as them). It's a challenge as their power is strong while not super easy to use.

If anything and from my experience; Lucky Break + Iron Will is a free escape against Victor. Might make that perk meta if they become popular.

Again: Crouching saves lives and windows are very strong if you manage to avoid being hit while vaulting (like a huntress hatchet). Victor cannot vault over windows and has to either go around or use his lunge and potentially get crushed.

  • Can we just stop?

I think it's time to stop and move on.

  • I think your Solidarity change is great especially for moans of pain while healing.

Poised honestly is already quite good at 10 seconds which is more than enough time to reposition. The allies effect is nice though!

  • I've generally found that it's better to ignore the survivors' exhaustion perks (other than dead hard/head on) because according to the wiki Victor runs at the same speed anyway so you can't be outran by a sprint burst user. So I'm unsure about mindbreaker here.

    Alternate

    Movement speed

    150 % | 6.0 m/s (Victor)

    (That's without addons even)

I like Sloppy butcher, BBQ, corrupt intervention, stridor, pop goes the weasel, oppression and devour hope.

I would put oppression with pop for sure. Maybe something with enduring spirit fury would also be good if you wanna chase with Charlotte and have some M1 potential more quickly.

EDIT: Stridor I actually really like because it's one of the only perks you'll be able to get some use out of with Victor. (Along with sloppy) It works wonders against Iron Will gamers if there's a lot of grass and you struggle with blood.

Also!! I would add that if you wanna try the iri addon that makes Charlotte undetectable, something fun is to run Monitor & Whispers. Get to a gen you know is worked on and become undetectable on command. It's kind of like the Pig and it works very well if you can get to the gen quick enough!

Many here mentioned deerstalker and while I think it's great now with the tenacity speed bug, you can just park Victor somewhere and power-slug to victory anyway with the killer instinct. Imo it might be a waste of a good perk slot.

  • A lot of people just don't care about sandbagging teammates... earlier today I was at shack at the start of the game and suddenly comes this Nea being chased and I was like damn she gonna get effed because I'm here (or I'll get effed).

So I waited in the back and when she came around the back I stepped aside so she could keep running, took a hit and then got chased myself T_T Oh how the price of teamwork is heavy sometimes.

    Per @Freki 's Observations:

"after chapter dlc or mid chapter patch, they always have 2 hot fix patches which are of the X.Y.1 and X.Y.2. this is how it's been since i've been with the game in october 2018. it isn't something that happens within weeks but patch release tuesday (say 5/1) hotfix 1 release tuesday (5/8), then hotfix 2 release (5/15) (dates were examples so you'd understand the first two weeks after the content patches are these extra patches)"

    Not guaranteed, but highly likely.

Ah, I figured they didn't actually announce it officially.

Thank you so much for the info though!

  • While I absolutely love playing Wraith and windstorm is very nice, it is also very powerful, especially the purple one (obviously) which is the one people here are asking for.

You can shut down windows and bodyblock pallets with it and that can just stop survivors from having counterplay in a couple areas on every map. I think he should have the yellow windstorm basekit but any more than that and it's very oppressive.

Don't forget if you somehow get a windstorm basekit, the windstorm addons are probably gonna get nerfed or removed entirely.

That's just my two cents! :)

they had stated before they should have the desync issue patched by the second patch (this coming tuesday). I do not know what it is, or anything more. this was said before the first hot fix patch day.

Just asking but, where did they say it's this tuesday?

I hope it is I'm just wondering where they share that information

Thanks for the tips! And no I don't have all the teachables but most of the old meta ones at least. I have all of Dwight's, Jake's, meg, fengs, David's, bills, nea, and some random ones through shrines. Killers I have the majority of outside of pig, wraith, Legion, hag, and Freddy besides some odds and ends. All of this is before Legion though

Hag might not be worst idea as well since she's got ruins and devour hope!

Let's not even start with the third seal which is the most meta perk of all times

The entire match all three of them were clustered together gen rushing. They weren’t planning on saving anyone I bet that wasn’t in their little threesome group.

Fun time for the whole family. Of course you weren't in the family so...

Before the latest patch the 180 second timer did not reset when you were healed. It only paused.

Oh interesting. That's why it's such a long timer then.

I'm not sure it really resets now though I think it's a visual bug. I played a game and was not injured for more than the timer was showing at all & all of a sudden I was leaving blood and it was deactivated.

I had Second Wind activate and then took a protection hit maybe 40 seconds before seeing this blood so it really didn't run out.

Maybe healing up with Second Wind causes it to not reset or pause... anyway.

I had Kindred. That’s how I saw them all gen rushing on the other side of the map and didn’t see the killer’s aura at all around me.

You can always see the other survivors when on the hook regardless of perks, I meant it more as a way to show people if the killer is camping and also allow them to see if someone's gonna save. Sucks that the killer wasn't around though, they even knew you had Kindred..

  • You can always try to run Kindred and Deliverance to negate a bit of those issues... maybe add Decisive Strike for good measure.

Solo queuing is pretty bad though and yeah people suck.

  • I thought that's what it always did. Give you some time to heal without leaving blood trails and punishing you for not managing it.

Then again I never used it before and just saw it here and there.

  • Cue the sliding music from Mario 64 and it's perfect.

  • Power wise I have no idea, but Rin is already cut everywhere and literally dead so one would think she cannot lose a fight.

What can a knife or a saw do against flying already cut limbs really.

So I'm gonna say Spirit wins!

New power, Viral strength: when a pallet is dropped on the killer it immediately breaks, killer stunned for 3 seconds longer than usual

    So a worst Spirit Fury?

  • Something I would run with Autodidact would be Spine Chill. It gives an increased chance of getting skill checks by 10% when active and might help getting those clutch heals in time. Maybe add Bond and keep your Decisive or play with Solidarity for a quicker self healing.

The problem with Autodidact is getting those skill checks, even when fully stacked. There aren't many ways to get those.

  • @Cardgrey said:

And I’m the guy who will say I’ll save and never really do it I like it easy to trolll

That's just throwing the game which you can already do.

At least with a ping system like this, someone serious could actually communicate. Trolls are nothing new or special.

  • I see you're not playing killer yourself.

Being against competent survivors is a pain, a total pain. You HAVE to be experienced and do a lot of multi-tasking as killer to do anything sometimes. Other times you go against potatoes and you can destroy them without even trying.

The real issue here is matchmaking, not the way the game is balanced. It IS easier to play survivor, unless it's pure solo queue.

  • I'm using a decent headset and I don't understand how people can follow survivors after being blinded.

The blind ''burning'' sound seems so loud to me that I can't hear anything else. Kinda like spirit's phasing sounds...

I just can't seem to track people with these. Don't get me started on the chase music over everything.

  • This is quite hard to understand but from what I gathered you played against a Ghostface with the perk Hex: The Third Seal.

He walked towards you without looking directly at you so Spine Chill did not light up. You cannot see an undetectable killer with aura reading perks like Dark Sense and Hex: The Third Seal makes you blind so you cannot see injured allies with Empathy.

Unfortunate that you would have all these perks countered but that situation is quite specific.

If you really want a way to tell the general position of any killer regardless of builds, you could try running Premonition altough it's pretty bad.

  • It feels as though the desync is much worse when it comes to character positions on the map rather than input so I've found that camping pallets is much more viable than before and you can only loop a killer when the loop is safe and the killer is far away...

It's too bad because I really feel like I've become better at looping and then this patch dropped.

Basically when I'm chased I try to run in a straight line as much as possible, avoid line of sight for bloodlust and go through safe windows or buildings. Then eventually I loop a strong tile I come across for a short while and predrop the pallet just a bit (even if it feels as though I should be able to get another loop or so).

I'm pretty sure it'll get better but that's what I figured is the safest right now.

  • This sounds pretty complicated and also quite strong.

Plague is already a strong killer, she might need some projectiles adjustments but otherwise she's fine imo

  • @Rydog said:

As opaque as the developers tend to be around making changes to frustrating or overpowered mechanics, I really appreciate the gesture with this proposed Object of Obsession change.

My knee-jerk feedback is that unless the killer is using BBQ or Nurse's Calling, this is functionally just gonna be a worse version of Alert. And with BBQ, you already know where the killer is -- they're at the hook. I think this is an improvement over what OoO does now, but I don't think it serves much purpose as described in this proposal (although it's not like the redesign has to be some uber meta perk or anything like that, either...).

I feel like there's a lot more perks that are useful for this new OoO user. If the killer is running any aura reading perks or add-ons you'll know about it. I'm all ears, Nurse's, BBQ, Hex Undying or Retribution, Bitter Murmur, Lightborn (this one is niche), Blood Warden, Hangman's trick (lmao), possibly deerstalker (I guess it would work heh?) and many add-ons.

I would equip this new object for sure. It seems like a lot of fun, especially for I'm all ears in chases imo.

EDIT: For BBQ yeah the killer is at the hook, but where are they going? It's like running Kindred with more usage, kind of.

  • I think Cybil's face isn't that great but Cheryl looks fine to me.

  • I think it would become a great perk imo. It has its uses, it's not broken at all and it's fun to equip!!

Couldn't be more happy with it, I hope it stays very similar if not this exact version.

  • Maybe just having it on a timer would be nice too.

Make it 60 seconds if anything, but having more than 5 uses would be nice.

  • Well she's very hard but not actually mobile. Yes she can teleport and go through walls, and the wall part actually saves a bit of time, but outside of chases she doesn't patrol the map faster than 4.6 killers. Her range and fatigue is about equal to a walking 4.6 killer and in a straight line (or without blinking through walls) she doesn't catch up any faster to someone running away.

She also isn't affected by regular looping so pallets don't matter; usually a killer will have easier chases towards the end if the survivors used a lot of pallets while the nurse is looped the same all game long.

The game is usually decided by her skill level but also the experience of the survivors. There aren't that many nurse so most survivors don't have as much experience as they should against her. The game is played a lot differently with a nurse than other killers, so regular tactics don't work and then you get complaints for this exact reason.

  • For some people, it's generators.

  • Her power is only first person animation changes really. As of now she actually doesn't have any animations for survivors, unless you count the passive phasing which I think is just moving animations and is not a power at all. Her design, backstory, animations, voice and whatever else wouldn't be touched at all, I think.

Which is a good thing because honestly she's one of the cooler looking/sounding killers imo

  • I kinda regret buying Cheryl's Cybil skin as it really doesn't look any better the longer you look at it. She looks like she's a hard drug user.

It's not terrible at all, it just isn't worth all these cells I spent. I hope it gets ''fixed'' someday. It's all about the eyes really...

Whole purpose for victor was because they can't just do a tiny killer because of the hooking part of the game so they did victor and his sister. Unfortunately there wont be a tiny killer as a sole.

The counter argument could just be to have this small killer have psychic powers like the nurse and levitate survivors on the hook.

Or have a different mechanic or animation, similar to pyramid head's cages (without pre-requisites or replacing hooks)
