  • there is nothing better than watching my team run around the hook like headless chickens when the killer is still there, downing one after another.

Kindred is a blessing - but it also reveals all the mistakes your team does, which can lea to frustration.

Wraith would make sense if he were stronger as a killer and it can be avoided by positioning..plus hes 115 speed...and hag is 110..completely power reliant and the devs have agreed direct power counters are not healthy for the game..plus trappers traps result in a free down if you hit one usually..hag still has to teleport and chase you down herself..trapper can use his traps for zoning and still do ok..hag doesnt have that luxury ..

therefore Hag has unlimited amounts of traps at her disposal and can just easily set them around loops during chases to completely shut down said loop. Trapper cant do that / it takes him a lot longer and is restricted in how many times he can do it - on top of that he needs to be very precise with his traps while hags traps have such a huge trigger radius that she can just put them anywhere near the loop and they will still trigger.

the flashlight burn on Hags traps is something that wont really be working during chases, so they can only destroy your preset setup. That means they still reveal their location to you and you can, as said before, reset it within just a few seconds.

also there is no guarantee that you'd have even been able to teleport there in the first place, especially during chases or from far distances. in the worst case you're gonna have to just walk over there and reset them - mostly it wont matter though, as i doubt anyone would be willing to give up a chase just to reset a setup someone destroyed.

regarding the Wraith, like i said above its kinda unnecessary of a downside to have, but the concept is really cool and fits the character perfectly. i have a love - hate relationship with that one xD i love the concept, but i hate when it happens to me.

  • that depends on many factors:

what map are they playing on, how is the pallet / window RNG, what killer do they face, how skilled is said killer / how experienced is he with that character, what is their team doing and what perks are both running?

all of these factors go into that question.

its possible, but not at all likely.

  • i kinda agree and disagree at the same time.

one one hand, yeah you are right, its a very old mechanic that is kind of outdated. its a direct counter to their power, if survivors manage to pull it off and kind of unnecessary.

But then on the other hand, i kinda like it aswell. for Hag it is the only chance to disarm her traps - dont forget that Trappers traps can always be disarmed without the need of an item, and tbh i think Hag should offer a way to get rid of the traps other than sneaking around them (which doesnt get rid of them, it just wont trigger them and wastes a lot of time). For Wraith it is a mechanic i kind of enjoy - it makes sense for him as he is supposed to be that creature lurking in the shadows - obviously shining light on it would expose it and scare it off.

Its a downside i really like for some reason - plus it burns through their flashlight when you know how to avoid it (as Wraith) or when you just reset your traps in no time (as Hag).

    Also a little fun fact:

Hag and Wraith are not the only killers that have a natural weakness to Flashlights - there is one more: The Nurse.

You can actually lightburn the Nurse when you shine a flashlight at her hand while she is charging up a blink, denying said blink and forcing her into fatigue immediately.

But there is a good reason this is a very little known fact - she charges up the blink much faster than the survivors can lightburn her and it requires a lot of precision on the survivors part. I think in all the time ive been playing DbD i have only ever been lightburned once as Nurse - and never lightburned one myself.

Uhm, Huntress has a lullaby and is 110 range killer. That's how it should be balanced around.

therefore Huntress has no range limitation and doesnt need to fullfill another action after hitting her shot.

i think what @xenotimebong is referring to here is that every 4.6 m/s Killer has a default 32m Terror Radius (except michael), while every 4.4 m/s Killer has a default 24m Terror Radius.

Lullabies are exceptions. The Huntress has one, as her projectiles are a lot more deadly than Deathslingers (quite literal thrown M1s) and they dont have any range restrictions on them, therefore the Lullaby is also quite large (42m i believe) to warn survivors they might be in range.

Also lets not forget that the actual hit window Deathslinger has without a TR is 2m, as his range is 18m, but his TR is 16m with Monitor & Abuse.

i dont think many Deathslingers will be able to get a shot in from that range to begin with, especially not without being noticed.

also also, he needs a clear LoS to you in order to hit his shot, so its not really any different from a Ghostface or Michael stalking you - awareness is key.

  • throughout the trial you receive multiple huge warnings the killer is running the perk in form of the killers aura being shown to you.

this additionally allows you to evade the killer more efficiently.

in the end all this perk really does is to push one survivor (the obsession) out of the trial as soon as they can leave.

if you stick around with Rancor active, well thats on you. and if you happened to be in a chase when the last gen popped, thats unfortunate, but still something you should have avoided.

during the endgame (lets say when one gen is left) you want to avoid the killer as good as possible to prevent said scenarios and then open a door and leave asap. thats how you counter Rancor.

  • sorry, but what you are describing here has very little to do with the Nurse.

both your screenshot and your complaits show that the only thing you actually have a problem with here is the horrible matchmaking that lead to a very unfair game towards you - Nurse was merely the character you chose to play. I doubt the outcome would have been very different had you chosen a different character.

this also shouldnt disencourage you to play her - your choice of character has no influence over the matchmaking whatsoever. Nurse has the exact same chance to get such a team as any other killer out there.

  • ive had a team not too long ago with VERY convenient lags.

the most noticable one was when we were running around shack, i closed in one one who kept running from the pallet to the other door, who then suddenly just disappeared and fastvaulted the window behind me. they all had rather convenient lags around loops though, but nothing as big as the one just described.

didnt want to throw around assumptions though, as they might aswell just have been very laggy. sadly there isnt really a reliable way to tell.

  • try Spirit.

move up on them until they hear the TR and then phasewalk to the marked gen.

    it often gets me grabs.

  • selfcare against legion is the equivalent to hiding inside lockers with iron maiden and then wondering how it backfired.

  • they should add the old debuff of a longer shock therapy charge back on the electrodes.

I mean I’m not complaining or anything I just didn’t know what to do in that situation.

there isnt a whole lot you can do in that situation tbh.

i wouldnt recommend you sitting there, waiting out the timer though. thats quite boring for both parties.

you could try to open the gate while the killer isnt looking, or you open it to one third, sneak away and open the other one while the killer is checking the area around the first one.

or you just loot a key and reopen hatch (Kappa)

none of these are guaranteed to work though.

sometimes there really isnt anything you can do other than accept defeat.

  • the gate spawn is random.

you were just unlucky, thats all.

there ARE maps that have pre set exit gate spawns, such as Lerys Memorial or Gideon Meatplant, though these gates are always guaranteed to spawn on opposite sides of the map.

outdoor maps however never have that, the gatespawn on those is always random.

  • ill go P3 and then max him out, cause thats what i do with every killer.

sadly i wont be able to do it right when he releases, as i am still leveling my Plague right now and she kinda has priority, as ive already started her (she's P3, but i still need all the perks).

After that ill get him to 50, get all his perks on my other killers and THEN its his turn.

  • basically there is.

the first two DCs will only result in a 5 minute matchmaking ban, however any additional DCs will increase the time you have to wait.

-> you wont get any time increase for the first time DCing.

  • how are you going to dodge last second dwight switchers?

  • i prefer 3 over 1, as there is no noisespam.

imo it'd be nice though if 3 would immediately let the gen turn red once the 2nd survivor has left it, so the info you get is just as accurate as the info 1 gives you.

  • *sad claudette noises*

  • Bubba:

i think he would be infinitely better if they gave him the Clown treatment: remove the slowdowns his power gives him. What if Bubba wouldnt slow down while charging his chainsaw (or only by a tiny bit), aswell as not receiving a slowdown when cancelling his chainsaw?

the main problem i have with his power is, that you basically cant use it during chases, unless the survivor is deadzoned and you manage to walk up right behind them (where you basically already touch them). without add ons, there really isnt any other use of the power during a chase, because of exactly those slow downs!

    Legion:

never, NEVER bring back old legion! thats a horrible idea!

old Legion was the most annoying thing in the game, they had literally no counterplay and took absolutely no skill to be played (they also had the highest DC rates in the entire game - and i actually cant blame the people who DCed against them if i am being honest here. the games against them were just miserable, new Legion is a thousand times better for the games health than old Legion was)

if you wanna buff Legion, reduce the stun time they receive after dropping out of their power and maybe increase the powers length. But in all honesty, Legion isnt as bad as many say. they arent a great killer, but they have a very oppresive power that can stall the game very well, which people also wont be able to evade efficiently. they dont necessarily need big buffs to be good.

    Pig:

i think the way her traps work needs a full rework - well, not the traps themselves, but mostly the Jigsawboxes. her slowdown ability isnt at all consistent, its pure luck whether they are gonna have the trap for long times or not, which i find to be very annoying for both sides.

imo it'd be better if they worked like this: there are 5 boxes on the map. the survivor is guaranteed to obtain the key at the 4th box they search - the others increase the time the survivor has to get rid of the trap. also, the general time a trap takes to kill someone is reduced to where its balanced, considering they get time back for macabre searches. also, Jigsawboxes auras are hidden from the survivor until the trap activates (new Ruleset No. 2: traps are immediately active, no gen pop required)

hiding the Jigsawboxes aura however would not work. that way survivors wouldnt be able to get their traps off in time, unless they get extremely lucky by randomly passing by a box that happens to be the right one. the current ruleset no. 2 should be basekit id say, but once the trap is active they NEED to know the location of the boxes.

  • since i pretty much always run Plunderer's Instinct and Ace In The Hole, i usually locate a chest first and then start working on gens - preferably when the killer has eigther just checked on it or someone else entered a chase.

  • just looking at the killer with their base power its definitely Leatherface.

if we throw add ons and perks into the mix however, it gets blurry between Leatherface and Clown.

Legion however is really quite an underrated killer imo. the amount of map pressure they can have is incredible - i feel like the only reason most call him a candidate for the "worst killer ingame" is because they cant play them efficiently. And honestly, not too long ago i was one of these guys - until i saw Otzdarva start playing him, which lead to me starting to play them aswell (roughly around the EGC update). Are they a good killer? nah. but are they as weak as many say they were? hell no!

  • i still think the claudette skin doesnt fit her character.

dont get me wrong, the skin looks great! i am not trying to "take the win away from the creator" or something silly like that, the skin certainly deserves to be a winner! - but should it really be a Claudette skin?

Claudette isnt the type of person who would really go for such clothing - both her tome and character lore state that she was always amazed by biology (especially plants), was more of a nerdy character who struggled to make friends and later on was an extreme introvert to the point where no one even noticed her disappearing, until someone on her forum thought it was weird that she had not posted anything in a whole WEEK.

this skin however doesnt at all fit such characteristics imo. it looks like something one would wear in public on parties and such - trying to be stylish, which just doesnt work with an introverted character such as Claudette...

i think it would have been better if this skin wasnt a Claudette skin, but maybe a Yui, Meg or Kate skin - especially Yui is someone i can see wearing such clothing (plus the skins skin color would actually match the character that way - just saying).

  • i... doubt we're gonna have a winner in a battle royale between 16 immortal, invulnerable beings that never ever get exhausted or tired.

If you read the entire post, I said that Kate can be purchased with shards, but her perks aren't useful, and I have no intention on playing her.

so your point is that you dont intent to get the things required for the challenges, yet you complain about not having the things required to beat the challenges... ?

  • Unicorn Trapper!

    this is our chance!

  • you do sum up the complaints about the new chapter very well xD

  • since Corrupt blocks the 3 gens that are the furthest away from your spawn location, that means there will be survivors spawning over there 9 out of 10 times.

so they go over there and check around the blocked gens really fast, as they hope to catch LoS to someone who isnt paying attention to get into a chase asap.

  • both of them have different movement speeds, as boths powers work very differently to one another.

in terms of ranged attacks, Deathslinger basically beats the Executioner in every aspect.

    1) Deathslinger leaves much less time for Survivors to react to his shot - Executioner however announces the attack by entering the power AND shows the survivors exactly where it is going to hit - without being able to make any adjustments once its locked in. if i am honest, i doubt good survivors will ever get hit by his ranged attack, unless they are in the middle of an animation such as dropping a pallet or vaulting.

    2) Deathslinger has much less of a punishment when missing a shot - Executioner not only loses a chunk of his power that needs to recharge, he also has a huge stun animation after missed ranged attacks. Deathslinger does need to reload, but that for one doesnt take much time plus he can just attack regulary after a very short stun.

    3) Deathslinger has superior range. Executioner only has a rather small attack window and while he needs less precision, i felt like i needed to be a lot closer to survivors for being able to hit my attack when playing him.

    4) Stealth - that one easily goes to Deathslinger for obvious reasons. he can literally snipe someone outside of his TR.

the only thing the Executioner can do that Deathslinger cant is down multiple survivors at once. but in all honesty: is that really THAT strong? its the same as saying Bubba was superior to Billy, just because his chainsaw (while inferior in any other aspect) can instadown multiple targets at once.

    so in conclusion:

Deathslinger has a slower movementspeed, because his power is a lot stronger in chases than the Executioners. Pyramidhead seems to have more of a utility based power that i believe can be very strong in the right hands, but not as strong as a really good Deathslinger.

and lets be honest: Deathslinger with 115% mms would be broken af xD

  • my vote is on Pyramid Head from Silent Hill.

  • i knew that legion skin would be the winner since the first time i saw it...

kinda sad it wasnt the Tooth Fairy Hag, ngl.

  • so instead of trying to improve you'd rather sitout your timeout and then get destroyed by the next team?

i get it, matchmaking sucks and its really unfair for low ranks to fight high ranks, but if you avoid the challenge instead of at least trying to beat them, you wont improve.

the game is very harsh in that regard, thats true, but we've all been there.

and since you're playing Nurse, she is easily the hardest killer in the game, especially on console. to master her you will need to take a lot of losses like these, even as a very experienced player.

dont let losses like these come to your head, thats the best advise i can give you.

  • what "false teasing" are you talking about?

the only ones that ever said it was going to be Jason, Pennywise, Candyman, etc were us, the community.

All the devs said was that its going to be an iconic horror character - which Pyramidhead certainly is.

sorry to hear you dont like it, but i personally am very much hyped for this chapter.

  • @Rydog said:

Also: What about any other medium? What if there was, I dunno, a Dracula chapter? Or some sort of Cthulhu-themed chapter? Or the It chapter that everyone wants, whose source material is a novel? I think those would be fair game, too.

i mean, the Silent Hill chapter is not the first licensed content from different horror games put into DbD.

Dont forget they have added Bill from Left 4 Dead in the past, who himself is very much licensed and from a game.

  • i got two survivors to go into a locker with iron maiden so far:

the first was a low rank meg who not only thought it'd be a good idea to get into a locker against huntress, but also while injured with me around her so all i had to do was open the locker with the bloodpools underneath it.

the second one was on the Dead Dawg Saloon when one panickvaulted into the locked up room thats only accessable through the window. there is a locker in there, so you can block the window and smack the locker, they wont have a choice.

both heavily relied on survivor mistakes though...

  • i think its fake (which doesnt mean the next chapter cant be an alien chapter, just that i dont think these pics are real)

though i would certainly LOVE to get a Xenodoggo to play with!

  • well, she did get rid of the broken status effect placed uppon her by the infection.

she asserted her dominance over that plague by only accepting her own broken status effect and denying the one the killer would have given her!

she must have the biggest balls in existance...

  • if you want hell, ill recommend you bubba.

  • i have quite the contrary experience. my survivors dont really do anything BUT the objective...

  • i mean, they cant get salty over my Add On choices, buuuuut they'll find something.

How often do the orbs spawn? Maybe they could just nerf that time slighty.

i dont know the exact numbers, but every couple of seconds two orbs should spawn from an injured survivor.

though as someone who has played Oni quite a bit himself i can assure you that Orbs are rarely the main income of power charge. as an Oni you usually get your power from hitting people, as hitting an healthy survivor will grant you almost half of the power meter at once.

the only time you really get to use the orbs to charge up the power would be when someone didnt heal and instead worked on generators (or you found the place they did heal in, though thats obviously less orbs), as they have left pools of blood orbs right there.

another thing to note, as you mentioned Oni getting his power back very fast: how did the Oni you played against use the power? did he slug and used all of the charges he had? or did he pick up downed survivors before the power ended?

if Oni picks up a survivor, his power immediately ends, therefore the power meter wont be emptied and he can refill it starting from the point he was on when he picked up the survivor. lets say the Oni used his power and immediately downed a Survivor with it, who he also immediately picks up, that would mean his power would be roughly 80% charged already, so it wouldnt take him much blood to get it back.

if he used the power until it ran out though, he has to restart the whole process of blood collecting from scratch.

  • i dont think he is unfun or unfair to play / verse...

his power is strong, yes, therefore it is time restricted and requires him to charge it up first, which can only be achieved by succesfull chases - therefore it requires skill to gain it in the first place (well, unless you are running No Mither for whatever reason).

regarding the bloodspawn rate: heal. Oni is a killer who wants you to be injured so he can just collect blood orbs from you over and over and get his power back asap. if you repair a gen while injured, thats gonna be a whole lot of bloodorbs for him to use against you later.

additionally, performing actions will also force blood orbs to spawn. so if you are vaulting a window, dropping a pallet or even crouch down you will be spawning 2 blood orbs - dont teabag oni when you're injured xD it is going to backfire.

i dont think he is in the need of any changes.

  • congratulations?

what are you trying to achieve with this post again?

  • that maps a strange one for me.

you can easily get a 3 or even 4 gen setup going which gives you tons of power, however as soon as you lose gens in that setup, its basically a gg.

id say any killer with high mobility, a trap based power or an instadown has really good potential on the map, but killers that kinda struggle with these aspects will also struggle on the map - especially if the survivors are smart and run away from your 3 gen in chases (which is why an instadown / good chase ability is great to have).

id say there are maps that need the devs attention more than Azarivs Resting Place, but i definitely understand complaints about its size... it really is massive.

  • reread the Terms of Service.

they clearly state that anything you see in the game can be subject to change in the future.

since you agreed to them, there is nothing wrong with them changing stuff and you have no right to demand your money back with that reasoning.

Though problematic, the previous amount of DCs did not justify innocent people being barred from playing the game.

like i said, the system definitely needs improving, where it can tell when someone DCed or had a gamecrash (the later should not be punished).

though, considering how bad DCs were prior to the punishments, i would not want the current system to be shut down.

DCs back then were out of hand, players literally DCed over everything. it was almost impossible to have a normal game, you'd always have at least one DC, probaply more. Players abused the living hell out of that button, just to deny the counter party emblem / blood point score events and have them lose when they should have won.

in the end, the only reason why OP and others even suffer from that problem is, because of thousands of toxic players would abuse that option.

if one is to blame for this, its these people. they basically forced the Devs hand, which lead to this problem.

now all we can do is to wait and hope for a fix.
