  • key: "guess he is gonna die first then" plus, when i see them ingame "dude you are NOT making it out alive, a can assure you that" (i have thrown games to kill the key dude. worth it.)

mori: "guess someone really wants that rank up / 4k..." and "cmon dude thats so lame. why you gotta be such a douche?" (i case of an immediate first hook mori tunnel).

thats pretty much my thought process with the two.

  • there is an achievement that is only obtainable when all 4 survivors escape through the hatch, therefore its not doable.

  • would be one hell of an efficient way to reduce the community size id say.

  • they really need to find a way to differ between game crashes and DCs / connection losses.

the current system is very unfair towards players who, like you, have crashed out of the game and had no control over it - sadly its a necessary evil though, as DCs went out of hand prior to the system.

  • insta hatchets themselves are fine - actually they are pretty bad when you look at them alone.

however when combined with other add ons, such as the infantry belt they become way too powerfull.

also imo adding a distance to them would make them utterly useless - the iridescent coin is already extremely weak, we dont need a V2 of that - the iri coin rather needs a buff to it, honestly.

  • Here is my take on the topic:

Ultra Rare items should not be lootable from chests, unless the Survivor is running Plunderers Instinct.

Dull Keys are extremely Overpowered for their rarity and should get a big nerf (e.g. only the keyholder can escape with this key).

and well, Broken Keys arent really an issue id say - but it'd be nice if they would be guaranteed to have an Add On attached to them. just so they are not entirely useless when looted from a chest.

3 posts about this topic in the last week when before that no one mentioned gen tapping. Hmmm 🤔

it has been mentioned countless times already.

the idea of Survivors having to go through an animation to get rid of gen regression so they cant just onetap it mid chases has been around ever since the gen kicking was introduced and Survivors figured out they could do that.

dunno why the topic became hot again, i almost thought people had given up on it by now...

    What's "proxy camping"?

my definition of that would be a killer "camping" the hooked survivor from a longer range.

while a "camper" is someone who stays close to the hook (without having any idea of someone being around, just to secure the kill) and actively interrupts and prevents unhooks from happening, a "proxy camper" would be someone who is further away from the hook (id say 16 - 32m or sthg like that), not leaving the area even when they dont know if someone is around. they dont actively prevent the unhooks, but they make sure to be close enough to return and get the unhooked before they can get away though.

that tactic applies better map pressure than normal camping, but comes with the risk of the survivor getting away (e.g. with the help of DS or BT).

  • he isnt pay2win though.

you can get him for free.

  • cause one guy (Ivory Mori) or multiple guys (Ebony Mori) brought keys.

    fighting fire with fire.

  • i always wanted a UR that refills the hatchets over time... i dont think it'd fit the Iri head tho, but hey xD

Yeah, genrushing is literally the only counterplay you can have. But you cant really call that counter play.

    Spirit issues:

    1. no animation when going into phasemode
    2. no sound cues while in her terror radius
    3. passive phasing removes her red stain
    4. while phasing, she can still get readings from survivor positioning(fast vaults, surveillance, discordance, unhooks), while survivors at best get a woosh that is maxed out 5 meters around her.
    5. she has an easier time hearing breathing and injured people while having the movementspeed of wraith without any downsides. Not even a stun(seriously, she would be so much better to play against if she got a stun after her ability).
    6. Technically not an issue with spirit specifically, but add Stridor on spirit, and you literally cannot juke her. The only thing you can do is pallet stun her, and even that is not a guarantee.

    Freddy issues:

    1. his addons alone are disgusting, some being even basically dying light at full stacks from the start of the game, applied to everyone.
    2. His teleport cooldown shouldnt be loading when everyone is awake, he still gets a teleport roughly every 20 seconds even when people are awake.
    3. His slows are Clown's slows but better as they are pretty much permanent. The worst part? Even if you get out of the original trap, it still is applied onto you for 2 seconds. Meaning its a 3-4 second slow, when it should be a 1-2 second slow.
    4. Even if he uses his pallets, there is literally nothing you can tell the difference with the pallet. With Doc, they are dropped and its revealed to you that they are dropped as soon as you hit them. Freddy's pallets are not revealed untill you drop them. That difference is extremely important. Freddy's pallets literally stop your movement to drop a fake pallet, where Doc's don't. Aka, Freddy's pallets are stronger than Doc's and Freddy's slow is better than Clown.
    5. Then, technically, Freddy's lunge is the largest of all since his hitbox is smaller. Meaning he can reach further where other killers wouldnt hit. Meaning he can hit you practically on the opposite side of the pallet where other killers cant reach you earlier. Considering his set-up is already incredibly strong, and his addons make his kit even worse, making him by far the strongest killer in the game, towering over spirit, huntress and nurse.

oh boy, a list to go through!

    Spirit:

    1) there is a warning sound. and her faking the phase isnt gonns help her a lot unless you start running at her. you can also check with a flashlight - and i believe there is a slight clue that reveals when she phases? dunno if that one is intended, ive heard of its existance but i myself never really went out of my way to check.

    2) leave the terror radius then. in general, leave the tile and she will be forced to phase after you - then backtrack a bit and she is gonna be utterly confused. always assume she is phasing and play accordingly.

    3) thats nothing she can control - she cant een see when she has passive phasing herself. if she passively phases at just the needed time to trick you at a loop, thats really just bad luck at that point.

    4) the woosh is 24m, like her Terror Radius. and, just like her, you can track the footsteps to learn her position (works especially well on indoor maps)

    5) Iron Will - and she is faster than Wraith. also "no downsides" is just going to ignore the fact that she can literally not see you? another thing: do you know why no one plays Nurse these days, even though she is easily the best killer in the game? its because she has a stun after using her power - combined with the reload time of her blinks it just makes her very unfun to play. And its not like Spirit could just use her power like Billy does - she does have a cooldown on it.

    6) you still can. though, its definitely a lot harder when the spirit is decent, ill agree on this one.

=> Spirit is a big mindgame

    Freddy:

    1) false. 1) the Add On slow down doesnt even get close to full stacks Dying Light; 2) it ONLY applies to sleeping survivors. just stay awake.

    2) his teleport cooldown is 90 seconds when everyone is awake. and even when all 4 are asleep, the cooldown is still 36 seconds - stay awake.

    3) agreed. his snares basically take away clowns only reason of existing - plus, unlike clown, he can spam them during a chase all the time without having to ever reload. to avoid them, stop looping him on the same tile and run around different tiles. the snares arent active immediately after placement and he cant throw them ahead of you like clown could. or, ya know, stay awake.

    4) he cant use them during chases though - he is forced to prepare a setup prior to the chase. remember which pallets are real and which have been used already. also: stay awake - and then destroy his setup when you did fall asleep.

    5) this is simply false. every killer in the game has the exact same lunge range.

=> Freddy is only good when you are asleep

I remember the lawless days of free DCing:

    Survivors:

    Did not like map? DC.

    Did not like Killer? DC.

    Did not like perks? DC.

    Got hit too early? DC.

    Got downed too fast? DC.

    Got hooked too fast? DC.

Someone already threw Shack pallet? DC.

    Got slugged? DC.

    Got camped? DC.

    Killers:

    Did not like map? DC.

    Got D. Striked? DC.

    Gates got opened? DC.

    Gens popped too fast? DC.

    Lost an important chase? DC.

    Got teabagged? DC.

I'll pass on going through that again.

    yeah exactly.

i dont think anyone would want that tbh - it really did ruin the game

  • sorry to hear that, though considering how much the DC option was abused back in the day i really dont think the penalities should be disabled.

  • there are two scenraios where i feel pressure on me as a survivor:

    1) everyone is hooked / downed and i am the only one left

    2) i am injured and on death hook while the killer is close

yeah, Killer is a lot more stressfull. the constant race against the clock is the problem i'd say. As a Survivor, time is on your side - you decide how long the trial is going to take, therefore mistakes dont weight as much as a killers mistakes and you dont feel the constant pressure of time running out.

Therefore you are dependent on your team to get the job done. a bad team can be VERY annoying for a survivor, as you are basically powerless when your amazing team mates decide to all rush straight at the facecamping Bubba and get downed within 5 seconds.

  • solidarity is extremely good when paired with Inner Strength, Selfcare and No Mither.

extremely good at annoying the streamer you forced to play with that build.

  • just because they purchased something with real money doesnt mean they are good players.

when cosmetics freshly released i used to fear those fully stacked with them, as only those who paid real money or put a LOT of time into the game had them. now, not so much. everyone has cosmetics these days.

its just like legacys - just reversed.

back in the day everyone had them and they were nothing special. now, suddenly they are very rare and i usually believe a legacy player is going to be the best in the whole team, if i see one. and then i get sad that i lost mine and then i cry. thats 1:1 how it goes. always. no exceptions.

  • @RaSavage42 said:

Let's be patient here and wait till the anniversary stream to see what happens

Plus I doubt it will be anything special to be honest

    Free V-Bucks.

    im calling it now!

  • because one rewards the killer for playing fair and well, while the other one punishes survivors for not completing their secondary objective.

one is a reward the killer can earn (= its in their hands whether they get it or not), the other one is a punishment for survivors (= the killer has no power over whether he gets the perk to work or not, its in the survivors hands)

  • @DelsKibara said:

Honestly with how people tend to play with DS all the time, this should be an easy challenge to nab.

I get 2 or 4 survivors to do that to me every couple of games.

so ill need to actively tunnel?

    sigh okay then...

seriously tho, this challenge sounds stupid xD

no one EVER hides in lockers as soon as they figure out you got Iron Maiden...

  • I really like the Doctors.

It somehow always gets me excited to play him...

  • he isnt.

he is a very solid killer, its just that there are others that are stronger / have more versitatile or straight up deadlier powers, which is why he is rather low on most tier lists.

if you know how to play him he can be quite strong though.

  • i am really hoping this is bait...

or have you already forgotten how bad it was without the DC penalities around?

    people just DCed over anything!

a map they didnt like? DC.

a killer they didnt like? DC.

    they went down first? DC.

someone else went down too fast? DC.

the killer got a momentum going? DC.

they were downed as the 3rd player and the killer was chasing the 4th? DC to give hatch.

they just wanted to be toxic? BM the killer and them DC a few steps away from a hook to deny the BBQ stack.

they were about to die? DC to keep the item.

and the list goes on - the game was hardly even playable anymore!

the DC penality system - while not being perfect - is by far one of the best things that ever happened to DbD.

  • the only reasons i have for slugging at 5 gens would eigther be me waiting out a DS (not very common, but it happens once in a while) or when i know someoene else is around so i look for them instead of letting them get away.

she can also down survivors across dropped pallets.

"yeah, she has a longer range than he has - therefore he can sneak up to get surprise shots and is able to cut loops a lot more effective than she ever could."

can you elaborate on that more? I don't get how having longer range leads to deathslinger getting surprise shots and such.

he can spear them and then down them before they can break free from the chain on most pallets.

or you just break the pallet and reel them in before they reach the next.

he certainly has options to deny looping.

now to elaborate on my previous sentence:

"she [the Huntress] has a longer range than he [the Deathslinger] has - therefore [to make up for that] he [the Deathslinger] can sneak up [to them - the survivors - due to his small Terror Radius] to get surprise shots [which Huntress can not do, due to her massive Lullaby Radius, therefore the Survivors being alerted of her presence] and [...]"

and then the looping part which should be self explanatory - which i also elaborated a bit more above.

  • @Godzilla said:

Except the time it takes to hit 2 shots, reel, hit, and reload is league's slower then Huntress. And she has much further range then him with the only downside being having to reload at lockers. But if you hit your shots with her, then it's not a concern

considering her massive windup time, her projectile speed and therefore the survivors ability to react to her shots and dodge them, id argue both are around the same strength level.

yeah, she has a longer range than he has - therefore he can sneak up to get surprise shots and is able to cut loops a lot more effective than she ever could.

i am playing the killer on a daily basis at rank 1 (no add ons, so we're talking base power here) and im doing just fine. this killer has a rather high skill cap and buffing him will probaply end up making him a bit too good.

he is fine the way he is.

  • Deathslinger is a really good killer already - if you can hit your shots.

i dont think he needs any buffs.

  • Oni is probaply the strongest, though Deathslinger is the most fun.

    id go with Daddy Slinger.

or Demodoggo if you feel cute. he is a good boi.

  • i always wanted one that gave him full control over his chainsaw (while still keeping his 230% mms forward momentum going, so he cant just walk around the map normally with his chainsaw active). therefore you have an tremendously increased stun time when you hit objects.

  • @Boss said:

It's not been much different, still enjoying it, and enjoying it more than Survivor.

    this ^

though i have to admit ive seen a few survivors who adapted to the new structures really well and looped the hell out of me xD

the good thing is, that i am no longer forced to ignore certain parts of the maps, just because there is a godloop around that would have cost me the game.

  • had the same thing happen to me.

it was my first hook all game and the killer even felt the need to hardcamp me (billy with a 99% chainsaw).

Edit: it was on a different map though - i played on the Badham Preschool

  • well, unlike camping tunneling has a rather solid definition in the community.

though, there are still some differing opinions on it, which is why some might consider a scenario a tunnel scenario, when others would not.

here is my definition of the term:

when the killer focusses down a single player over any other player, he is "tunneling" them. this includes dropping chases with others or straight up ignoring them when he gets an opportunity to chase his object of obsession (pun not intended), even though others are just as, if not even more vulnerable than them.

there is also the "unwanted tunnel", where a killer doesnt want to tunnel down a survivor, yet they do due to them being the only one they found.

  • there is no clear definition of the term.

thats why survivors love to throw it around so much - if you dont immediately leave the hooked area, you are "camping" them (which is absurd).

here is my definition of it:

"camping" refers to the killer staying within a close proxiimity (<16m) to the hooked survivor without having the knowledge of someone else being around or interacting with objects for longer periodes of time.

if the killer does the same while being further away from the hook, that is referred to as "proxy camping" (16 - 32m). with this he doesnt assure the survivor staying on the hook and wont suffer the emblem camping penality, however he can come to the hook very quickly when someone goes for the rescue and then proceed to tunnel down the unhooked.

another variation would be when the killer stands very close to the hook and keeps eyecontact with the hooked survivor. this is referred to as "facecamping". in some extreme cases the killers will facecamp the survivor so much that they actually block the unhook option for other survivors.

anything else would fall under eigther "hook defense" or just normal gameplay.

  • nope.

the rift pass includes auric cells - you would basically be able to get yourself 1k free auric cells on top of tons of cosmetics and charms.

the pass is worth the 10$ imo - if you dodnt think so, dont purchase it.

  • isnt Hexy like a HUGE fan of the Deathslinger?

i dont know if he mains him though.

  • Kindred is AMAZING.

i use it 24/7 - unless im running a meme build / trying something new out.

  • @Respectfulnancymain said:

Iri head is op becasue it has no down side any decent huntress can start using it for ez 4ks. Most people cant dodge 3 hatchets let alone 5. And conisdring your using the "just adapt lol" argument I trust you can adapt to ds,dh,bt and unbreakable

so reducing your amount of hatchets by 4 is not a downside worth mentioning?

you do know that a huntress without an Iridescent Head can deal a lot more damage than a Iridescent Head one? (5 normal hatchets = 2 down + 1 injured. 1 Iridescent Head Hatchet = 1 down).

    Iridescent Head is fine.

what we can talk about would be the Infantry Belt paired with it - but thats a combination of two add ons that is too strong, not the Iri Head alone.

we need to nerf the synergy between those two and nothing else.

  • Trapper

there is nothing more satisfying in this game than your well planned Trap setup working out and winning you the game.

he is not an easy killer though. you will need a lot of map knowledge and creativity in your trap placement to get them to work properly.

  • after playing this killer for quite some time, honestly he is a REALLY good killer when you figured out how to playh im efficiently.

i definitely agree, people calling him a "weaker huntress" have no experience with him and just judged the book by its cover.

  • @EmpireWinner said:

    My Claudette (1).png

i excluded licensed characters btw, due to them usually not having many cosmetics / them being 100% pay2get (most of the cosmetics used here are shard / event cosmetics btw)

so... whatcha think? xD pretty long list, huh?

maybe you'll fond some inspirations in here, who knows? xD

  • "Tactical Awareness" - Your footsteps and breathing sound are reduced by 15/25/50%. However, the Killers footsteps and breathing sound are increased by 15/25/50%.

i dont think it would be meta, but it could get some play against stealth killers or spirit.

also, unlike stridor, this perk wouldnt increase the sound for everyone, just for the survivor who is running the perk. otherwise we would get one hell of a loud killer when 4 people use this perk xD

"Tear It Down" - Every 50/40/30 seconds a random, dropped pallet outside your Terror Radius will be destroyed by the Entity.

it would help killers who play around pallets rather than instantly breaking them, while also not helping out during the actual chase, due to it only activating outside the TR.

seemed like an interesting idea, so here it is ^^

    also, regarding your perks:

"Collectors Management" - its a really cool idea, BUT i think it could easily be abused to continuously recharge already extremely strong items. or you just end up getting your item stolen by random survivor #239.

"Data Accessoring" - this should just be a Small Game buff, honestly. add a totem counter on the perk and give it additional cleansing speed. regarding the 100% more BPs, i wouldnt really want that part tbh. otherwise a normal totem would give you 2k BP and a Hex 3k - you could max out the Boldness BP cathegory just by cleansing 4 totems.

"Book It!" - its an interesting idea, i like it!

  • they should just allow Michael to kill someone with a tombstone add on who is on the ground.

    there, problem solved!

its a super easy fix, yet it hasnt been made in years - for god knows what reason.

  • i have 4 "reasons" to tunnel:

    1) they pissed me off - seriously, disrespect me enough and ill make sure you'll regret it.

    2) they have a key - cause keys actively punish you for leaving the key holder alive.

    3) they are the only one i found - i gotta keep up the pressure somehow. i cant just ignore you when the unhooker doesnt show himself - ive tried that, it lost me many games.

    3) its an accident - that happens sometimes. a survivor gets unhooked and i see two scratch mark trails leading away from the hook. i follow one of them - and if its the unhooked, its really just bad luck at that point.

1 … 59 60 61 62 63 … 140
