  • i believe that the tombstone piece trumps the fragrant tuft of hair, as soon as you kill a survivor with it.

its a bad combo, you are better off with just the tombstone itself.

sorry, but im not interested in a round with 2 or more toolboxes (i dont run ruin), 2 or more medkits (ive gotten instahealed so many times now, i actually dodge these. its annoying. you down someone and he's instantly back at full health .-.) or 2 or more flashlights (maybe ill play the round, maybe not).

also, i might just not be in the mood to play against certain people. i know some names by now and sometimes (especially if its my first round of the day) i do not want to play against these, as they would completely demolish me.

or sthg irl happened and i had to close the lobby.

and here are a ton of reasons, besides the common "SWF group" reason. i usually dont dodge these btw.

You dodge lobbies cuz of items, seriously? Are you a freddy main or something?

not really a freddy main, even though i do play him from time to time, but more of a trapper main.

considering your first question, i have already answered that so many times now, that i would actually like to ask you to read some of my responses to other users, so i dont have to write it all again.
i just answered @Arroz the same question.
    read that one.

I see you in all survivors discussion, that's your problem if you dont ruin.. You can slown down the game with sloopy butcher so stop crying.. You complain about instaheal but no one complain about instahatchets.. Just sacrifice a slot for SB or Franklin's demise and stop complaining and enjoy the game as it is..

i doubt that you see me in all of the survivor discussions, as im mainly in the general discussion, killer discussion and balance feedback area of the forums, but yeah. i do sometimes go to that part if im bored.
and yes, its my "problem" that i dont run ruin. however, i see it more like im doing a favor to the survivors at that point, as prettymuch everyone i see playing survivor complains about ruin and how every killer uses it.
and you guessed it: im using sloppy. however, this perk does not help me slow the game down enough at the start, so with 2 or more toolboxes and competent survivors they will have dont at least 2 gens in the time i get the first hook, which is usually a sign for a lost round. you know, im usually searching for a challenge when i play this game, but i do see a difference between a challenge and an unbeatable round. 10 mins and less is just not enough time for me to win, at least if i keep playing as nice as i usually do (not camping, not tunneling - literally ignoring the guy that got unhooked). but situations like these literally force me to play like a douchebag, which leads to you guys complaining about tunnel and camp.
and ive said this thousands of times beforre, but just for you i will repeat myself here yet again:
during the winter event i have been heavily trolled by a ton of insta heal swf groups. these rounds were no fun at all to play. my logical response to that: i dodge medkits now. its all "your" (talking about the survivor side of the playerbase) fault that im doing that, so you dont have any right to complain about that.
besides that, you are fairly new to the forum, right? like, claiming that no one would complain about insta hatchets is absurd. there is hundrets of threats about them and pretty much everyone is crying for a nerf (even though they arent even that hard to dodge...)
also, why should i alter my build, which is made out of 4 perks that work together beautifully and are pretty much required in order to use the build correctly, just to get into a round that i can barely enjoy, as it is eigther made out of a genrush or instaheal squad, if i could always just search a new lobby and have an actual fun round with different survivors instead?
without having to alter my entire perk build, without having to play like a douchebag and with a little more than 10 minutes of overall gen time?

its the easier and more logical choice to be made.

  • i like him.
hes much better than he used to be, but id still be for an invisible attack (like an EW 1 attack out of invisibility and he gets visible after a hit)

  • EW 3 + Fire Up 4 Stacks + Bamboozle = you vaulting the windows faster than the survivors do.

    its fun.

  • usually not.
i just take it and try to win with only 3 perks.

    hex perks need a rework.

  • if you dont want them, dont buy them?
no one forces you to spend your BP on them, unless your unlucky and the entitus refused to eat it.

and tbh, they are not a waste of BP, due to the fact that you get a guaranteed item / offering / add on of the rarity the box had. there is even a chance to get a better item for a lower price.

i have no problems with them

I’d rather be dodged in lobby then load into game, and have 3 survivors DC because of ruin or they don’t like the killer... that happens way more often then a lobby dodge

    LOL, no it doesn't.

yeah, cuz survivors ragequitting when something happens they dont like is a myth and would never happen in the game.

there are even ppl walking around with names like "Legion = DC" and stupid stuff like that.
little heads up: killers arent the only ones dodging stuff they dont like. the only difference is, that survivors actually get banned for doing it too often, while killers dont. therefore, the killer doesnt ruin the whole game experience for all the other people and instead just makes you go in a different lobby, which takes ~20 seconds.

That's cool and all, but all I said is killers dodge lobbies way more than "3 survivors dc bc of (insert thing here)".

Never once did I say that survivors don't DC or dodge things once hey're in the game.

I've had many killers DC because of maps, totems being broken, having a pallet slammed on them, being blinded ETC.

Both sides are bad but to imply more matches have 3 survivors DC than killers dodge lobbies is ridiculous.

oh, im sorry but you seem to have misunderstood me there.
i never claimed that it would happen more often.
i even explained why it does: survivors get banned for doing so and killers dont, as the killers can dodge before the game even started, thereofre not being forced to DC.
just imagine this: survivors can now see the killer they face
guess what? nurse players would not find a single lobby anymore. same goes for billy, michael, huntress, basically all the top tier killers.

the thing you didnt seem to understand was, that this is a twobladed sword. it can work in both directions.

What you've just said make 0 sense, we're talking about people DCing Vs Lobby Dodging. I say that killers lobby dodge way more often than there are 3+ DC's

You come back with a sarcastic comment insinuating that my comment before it implies that I deny survivors DC (hint, I dont).

and now you're talking about if survivors could see the killer they wouldn't get into a match? Hint, survivors don't and wont ever see the killer they're facing, for good reason.

Killers dodge for stupid af reasons and it's normally not because of ping, killers dodge for characters used, items, certain names, players they know are good, clothing the survivor is wearing, possible swf.

Im no pretending survivors wouldn't dodge nurses, but most of the nurse/billy/huntress matches I play don't have anyone that dodge the match immediately after knowing what the killer is.

guess why they dont auto dodge these killers?
cuz they are actively leaving the game in progress, therefore ruining at leats 3 other peoples fun / game.
    thereofre they get heavily punished.
    => they dont do it
killers lobby dodging prevents the game from happening, therefore ruining no ones fun / game.
they dont get punished for that
    => they do it

again: what if the survivors could see what they are up against and therefore decide weather they want the game to start or not?
they would dodge anything they wouldnt like to see
they would not get punished for that
    => they would do it

    thats my whole point.
and believe me: i see survivors ragequitting for all kinds of stupid stuff. example would be the "Legion = DC" person. they ragequit when they hear nurse, they ragequit when they hear the name of the killer (and they know its a good killer), they ragequit when getting moried, they ragequit when their team does bad, they ragequit when missing their DS, etc.
now give these guys the ability to see the killer, his name and weather he uses a mori or not. you would literally get no more matches with certain killers.

PS: i, as a survivor, see much more people DC midgame than i get lobbydodged. at some days its a rarity to even have a game with no DCs (unless im SWF of course).

  • i do use no add ons killers to farm BP and spend them on other killers.
    i have experiences with:
Billy (still very strong) and Freddy (well... hes not rly worse than before)

on the other hand, here are some killers i think could work without add ons:
Huntress, Pig, Nurse, Wraith, Hag, Clown, Spirit
    might be wrong though.

  • if you want to learn the specific counter plays to certain killers, i suggest you start playing these killers for yourself and see where their strengths and weaknesses are.

the nurse is very strong at chasing, but she really sucks at finding. break LoS and hide properly, then the nurse will have a bad time.
however, you do need to be aware that killers can use anti stealth loadouts, so many nurses will try to cover their weakness with that.

If i was that picky i would had uninstalled DbD long ago.

again: i dont run ruin, as i generally dislike the whole hex concept.

and im interested in rounds a little longer than 10 minutes.

i dont dodge on killers that run ruin though (e.g. my billy)

What rank are you playing averaging 10 min rounds?

Just play the lobby if the ping is good.

    rank 1
without ruin and with 2+ toolboxes, the rounds end ridiculously fast.
if im not playing billy, i dont even stand a chance.
and even for billy its very hard.

so i just dodge and play a nice little trapper round with the other survivors instead ^^

  • dont try to directly hit the survivors with the bottles.
try to predict their movement and cut off their path with them instead. make them run into the open field and you can get them. the bottles are also great for shortening loops, as they make survivors run slower than normal, denying them the ability to run around the same pallet / window many times.

however, he rarely has any map pressure, so make sure to change that with perks to slow down the gen repair speed (e.g. Thanatophobia or Hex:Ruin).
otherwise he is a very strong killer and you just need to practice him a for some time.

I feel like they should remove the escape penalties on Monstrous Shrine and just make it effect all hooks on the map.

considering the fact that you have 3 attempts with 85% succes chance, you have to be EXTREMELY unlucky to not get off xD

also, your first hook has to be in the basement.

i dont complain about medkits, i complain abut the instaheal add ons, as ive had a ton of toxic swf groups with their 4 medkits and instaheals annoy me in the past.
before the winter event dropped, i never dodged this item, but then some people just had to carry it to excess and thats my answer.
when the general number of instaheals decreased, i will probaply play against them again, but right now there are too many of these things around. (ill still dodge when its an obvious SWF group though)

like there are too many red moris yet you don't mind bringing those into the trial

    says who?
i personally dont even use them, unless i have a reason for it.
in total i got 303 red mories stored up, unused.

    (Trapper: 38, Wraith 45, Hillbilly 41, Nurse 1, Huntress 2, Shape 35, Hag 1, Cannibal 29, Doctor 26, Freddy 37, Pig 1, Clown 33, Spirit 3 and Legion 11)

and dont you think that 90% of the survivors would lobby dodge these if they could see them before the offering screen is revealed?
when i use a mori, its not a rarity that survivors just ragequit mid animation or instantly kill themself on the hook.
killers are not the only ones dodging stuff, you know? ;)

No you have no idea what addons they bring, 9 out of 10 medkits I see in game have green/yellow addons on, more excuses to dodge because you think you might actually have to put effort into the match.

    of course i dont know.

i just said that i made some bad experience with these things recently and right now im dodging them.
    period.

i might play rounds with multiple healthkits in the future again, but right now i just say "good luck with the next killer" and close the lobby.

The only not mindgame-able loops (which I assume you think about the "line of sight loops") are found on Autohaven and they can be mindgamed by ussing the killer's power.

Yh some pallets can spawn pretty near to each other and I think they should get the same treatment as hooks on the 2.5.0 update but other than that I wouldnt reduce the number.

    Edit:
About that "braindead-easy and requires no skill" comment... Try hidding your light by moonwalking, stand still facing the pallet when line of sight is broken or be decisive when ussing your killer power.
Seriously, It aint that hard to end chases sooner if you're facing a looper.

not mindgamable pallets, also called "god pallets" are a thing. these are pallets where the killer can not catch up to the survivor, unless he breaks the pallet.
    here some examples:
    the shack pallet
    the cowtree pallet
the pallets in the elementary schools basement
the pallets next to the bathroom at the meatplant
the pallets behind the staircases at the meatplant
the pallets in the basements in haddonfield and springwood

these are the ones i could think of asap. im sure there are more though.

  • whenever the game starts reloading itself, it will make the sound reappear.
when you enter the game and tab out while its loading, you will hear the menu music as soon as you have entered the game.

basically, any time there is a loading screen, the music and game sounds will reactivate, eve when tabbed out.

    i guess its a bug.

  • the whole hex notification system should be removed.
it is eigther very unnecessary or gives away information way too easy, screwing certain perks and tactics.

    lets be honest here:
if i get a red skillcheck, i can tell that i am effected by ruin, so the notification is completely worthless, BESIDES the fact that it actually gives away the level of ruin (lvl 1 ruin will have a green picture in the notification. 2 and 3 are purple)
if i get oneshot by a normal attack, i can tell the killer has NOED / DH. yet again: very useless information. however, if i am injured or get hit by a oneshot ability (e.g. chainsaw or EW 3) i should not be getting this information, as it gives away the whole perk and makes survivors look out for it before i can get any real use out of it.
i can also tell that im affected by lullaby, just by listening to the skillcheck sound, but i dont need to know that as soon as i get a skillcheck, even before the perk is charged. fun fact: you get no notification for lullaby while healing, not even with stacks.
third seal and haunted grounds would also get a nice little surprise factor.
and i can tell that im exposed, when i hear the EW 3 music! by that logic, billy and LF should have the exposed effect pop up any time they charged their chainsaw. again: very unnecessary information.

the whole notification system is just there to reward unaware survivors, by literally giving them all the information they need for free. they dont need to remember weather the guy who just got downed by the wraith was injured or not. they just get told that there is a totem to cleanse.

the only way where its actually usefull is for newbies. but even they will be able to tell that there is a hex upon them after very short time.

Until you guys fix this bug with Sloppy Butcher PLEASE just disable it for the Wraith. Every single Wraith I have played against in the last 2 days on Xbox has used it and I'm 90% positive they are doing it on purpose. They don't even need to use the add-on, just Sloppy Butcher. My game has already crashed twice from it. And yes the killer can see the blood spurts, I've been outed by it.

If you dont want to rely on ruin and the RNG that survivors dont spawn on it, then there is only sloppy butcher as an alternative

    What's worse:
    1) Choosing a different perk for a short time.
    2) Games crashing

Shouldn't be a hard decision. Not to mention, Ruin and Sloppy are not the ONLY options to slow the game down. If it bothers you that much there are 13 other killers for you to pick in the meantime while the bug is fixed.

They fixed it individually, but the patch notes make it sound like you can still cause the bug by using Sloppy with the add-on. If someone can still crash the game by using both that's still a problem.

While I'd normally advise against using such builds because they ruin the fun for the killer, here's arguably the most crutch survivor build possible:

    DS
    Sprint Burst/Dead Hard
    Unbreakable
    Adrenaline

    So many second chances.

    Noed
    Blood Warden
    Rancor
And sprint burst is not a second chance perk..
    "So many second chaces."

first off, im not interested in yet another infinite discussion weather certain perks are 2nd chance or not, but fact is: survivors have way more than killers do.
true, killers have noed and rancor, but thats it. bw does need a certain action before it activates, it does most certainly not just give you a free 2nd chance. noed is also easily countered.

survivors have Dstrike, unbreakable, adrenaline, SB (yes, this gives you a 2nd chance in positioning), deadhard, literally any exhaustion perks that allow you to get away from the killer very fast, deliverance, selfcare, iron will and in general items like instahelas or flashlights who grant you second chances.
also, the game mechanics are pretty much build around 2nd chances. you can get hooked 2 times with no consequence (unless the killer camps and denies you your 2 second chances), you get hit two times before going down and you have pallets and windows, which are supposed to be 2nd chance tools, even though no one uses them like that. a pallet was actuallyment to break LoS to the kilelr and hide again btw. same goes for windows.

  • well... both have their ups and downs.
Bamboozle is definitely very useful against double window loops and is definitely usefull on wraith, as he really suffers from loops like that. (also infinites, cowtree and shack get pretty much locked down, forcing them to eigther leave or use the god pallet there)

Save The Best For Last is also great to use on pretty much every killer. it allows you to catch up to freshly hit survivors much faster than without it, which can also be very useful in most situations, as you might catch them before they even get to a loop and you can easily punish overaltruistic behaviour e.g. bodyblocking or simply when you catch more than one at once.

honestly, its all up to your playstyle and current build. hate loops? run Bamboozle, Enduring and Brutal Strength. you want to have chain attacks and play more agressively? run STBFL, Enduring (this perk is just great in general), Sloppy Butcher and Nurses Calling.
STBFL works wonders when you combine it with Sloppy, as you can easily chain attacks and force them to heal, which takes ages.

conclusion: its all up to your playstyle. cant handle loops very well - Bamboozle, wanna be more agressive and keep them in the injured state - STBFL.
its completely up to you, however i would personally prefer STBFL.

    sure.

but i want something in return!

what about... survivors cant recover anymore when in dying state, plus slugging is now rewarded with pips.

    thanks.

...why would you want this? I mean, if you were a developer, I'd make the deal, but still. What is going on in your life to want that?

    why i would want this?

    simple.

you cant just nerf slugging into the ground and take away our hooks. if one is to be nerfed, the other one has to be buffed. for balance reasons.

and let me ask you this:

would you really make the deal? are you sure you would want that?

cuz honestly, as a survivor i wouldnt. have you ever been slugged? meaning 5 minutes on the ground until you bled out and died? its no fun.

take away a killers hooks and thats what he'll do. are you really gonna say yes to a deal that would make 80%+ of your matches end like that?

This isn’t a badge of honor... And, yes, I have been slugged for the full time, and it was by a billy who didn’t want to hook anybody even when we crawled next to hooks. This is the only time. Sabo is currently used (for solo players) to make the killer walk a little bit further before hooking someone. That’s all. Letting basement hooks be sabotaged would make that be the only counterplay to a basement Hag, Leatherface, and/or Trapper. So, yes, if you were a developer, yes, I would make the above mentioned deal.

And no, slugging hasn’t been nerfed. I still use the tactice perfectly well.

sabo, when done right can be very strong. however, the killer wont just let you wiggle free and escape then. he'll just drop you and let you bleed out, whic his the most boring thing this game has to offer.
believe me: you do not want to have the majority of your matches like this.
also, maybe you shouldnt even go to a leatherfaces basement? i mean, hag and trapper ain that big of a problem, you can avoid the traps. but bubba... oh boy. stay out of there.
and no. thats by far not the only way to counter these killers. again: you will bleed out down there then. cuz as soon as you leave, you get hooked on a close by normal hook.

and since you didnt want to belive me, that slugging has been nerfed, heres a list:
-Unbreakable lets you stand back up
-No Mither lats you stand back up
-With the Victory Cube, bleeding out gave you 1 out of 4 possible points per survivor. if you were slugging, you would have depiped
-With the Emblem System, slugging gives no points in devout. combine that with a very poor malicious and chaser score and you will mostly depip
-survivors now being able to recover up to 95%, allowing them to get onetapped

not to mention the point penality you get when slugging...

so yeah. no nerfs at all.

thats also why i asked for the other buffs in the first place. because on that case, slugging would be very effective again.

its a circle. killers slug => survivors complain about being slugged => devs rework the sabo mechanic, so killers dont need to slug anymore and punish slugging with bad points + ranking => now survivors complain about the new hooks => devs nerf hooks => killers slug => survivors complain about slugging => and so on.
and to be honest, i doubt they will continue to nerf the hooks, as neigther they nor us want this to repeat.

i dont think you two fully understood my argument, so let me explain this a little further:
no, trapper is not above hag or billy.
however, he does have to potential to end chases much faster than both of these killers.
as i have said, a trapper with the right setup (nothing you spot from 1km away, nothing you expect at all and still in a good place where many survivors pass through) will become unloopable, if the survivor happens to be in his trapped area.
here is an example where trapper outclasses both hag and billy: survivor vaults the ironworks of misery window. billy is forced to follow him and gets looped on that window. hag will teleport to the trap behind it and hit the survivor, but he will still be going. trapper however instantly ends the chase by trapping him and therefore instadowning him and getting him on a hook.

so yes, with the right setup trapper can outclass both billy and hag, but why he doesnt do that the majority of the time is stated in my 1st comment (setup can easily be destroyed / used up and avoided when expected).
also @Axelson the problems you stated were mostly something that only happens with bad trappers.
a good trapper wont run into his own trap or place a trap somewhere where you can easily spot it.

No. Hag ends chases just as quickly as Nurse. Only difference is, Hag can be consistent. Nurse sometimes gets juked which prolongs her chases but Hag can always be consistent. Hag can set the trap and she can reset it easily.

With the right setup he'll never outclass Hag because you can't precisely predict the survivors. Please don't try to convince me otherwise, I play all killers at rank 1 except Freddy and Legion. I know exactly where their strengths and weaknesses are. Trapper is simply not as good as Hag and can't ouclass her because she can recover from mistakes easily and he can't. Ever.

Now for Billy, Trapper is not as good because it's ez to genrush Trapper but Billy can easily stop genrush with his saw. Billy has an instadown and he's scary as hell.

    Hag/Billy/Spirit>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Trapper.

Billy and Hag with no perks or addons will do better then a fully decked out Trapper.

just a question, but have you fully read my comment?
i gave you a scenario where trapper can easily outclass billy and hag in a chase.
i was not talking about map pressure or anything like that, genrush has nothing to do with my argument. i just said that trapper can be better at chases than billy and hag, due to his ability to instantly end the chase when the survivor chooses the wrong window / pallet / path.
and i also stated, that trapper is far below these killers, there is no need for you to bring this up. and i have also said why that is.

  • @Poweas @Axelson

  • stealth is key.
the nurse is a killer from the hunter cathegory, which means her big strength lies in chasing survivors, but she sucks at finding them.
the main problem is, that killers have many perks to counter this weakness, so the nurse can become a very hard enemy to face.

however, there is another problem with nerfing her:
she is incredibly hard to play and newer players really have a hard time while trying to learn her.
you have to find a way to nerf her, without completely breaking her for new players, while also taking away some of her power for great players.
i personally dont think they will nerf her more, as they always have to think of the newer players too.

It's insulting to not read what I have painstakingly explained and just vapidly regurgitate the same response as every other troll, what makes you think I'll treat you nicely?

oh, i have not been insulting to you in any way. i just made my point clear, that it is the wrong move to nerf killers in order to get a balance between all of them. instead, you should bring every killer up to their level, so it didnt really matter if i read the whole post or not, i just said that i disagree with the nerfs to certain killers. and there is a big ptoblem with your post there, making it seem like your only after nerfs, but ill come to that a little later.

There are already countless threads for how to boost other killers. I limited the discussion to the title of the thread—I know, what a crazy concept.

what if i told you, that i did the same?
see, this is the big problem i was talking about. your whole headline only promises us balance suggestions for nurse and billy, and so do your suggestions. none of these actually refer to the other killers in any way. also, i have seen countless of these "nerf killer XYZ" threats, so i was not in the mood to read a huge wall of text, just to get the same result as in any other of these threats: killer XYZ needs a nerf. so i, and many others too, read the title and already knew what i was going to write. it would be something like "stop asking for nerfs until this whole mess of a game is balanced". however, i decided to read into your text a little, up to the point where you mentioned that you want all the killers to be on the same level. this was, where i scrolled down to your actual suggestions, the things that the headline promised me to find. and as ive expected from the very start, you asked for nerfs.
at that time i wrote my first comment.

Unfortunately, a lot of the initial responses demonstrated an acute lack of reading comprehension so I was pretty much forced to create a wall of text to replace the original neutral/simple post.

and as ive stated before, this is where you lost a lot of us.
next time, just rename the whole discussion into something like "my ideas to fix the overall killer balance" and only take nurse, billy and maybe a weak killer who should be buffed as examples. that way, you would have gotten many more to read this wall of text. however, thanks to the irritating headline, that did not happen.

Thus I'm keeping my scope mostly to Hillbilly and Nurse within this discussion and would entertain boosting the killers that most regard as currently #########.

then make this clear asap. make clear that you want to balance every killer and not only nerf the top two.

While theoretically I agree that getting a perfect balance among different kits among killers isn't going to happen, I can say you can always strive towards that direction—especially if there already exists fairly clear distinction of tiers; in essence, I don't agree with the argument: differences will always pose challenges to balancing, so don''t bother balancing.

i never said that you shouldnt try to balance the killers out. i simply stated that it will not be possible to get every killer on the exact same power level. the perfect example would be survivors: every survivor is the exact same, however, many players prefer claudette over other survivors. why is that so? she has the exact same stats as any other survivor out there. the answer is easy: she has an advantage over the others simply by her design. and it will be the same with killers. lets just assume that every killer in this game would have the exact same stats and no power available. guess what? you would almost exclusively see pigs, hags, legions and freddys. why? because they are smaller than other killers and harder to spot on the distance, giving them an advantage over the other killers just by their design.
i never said you shouldnt try to aim for a better balance though. you completely took that out of context.

Concerning Hillbilly, I don't agree that landing his chainsaw would be impossible. Survivors seldom move "randomly", they typically try to create a pattern to mislead the killer and try to determine how to fake them out with their movements—even if they are panicked. It is up to the killer then to pick up on this and down them. I witness Billies downing good survivors with their ability that isn't at extremely close proximity—it generally happens a couple times in each match. Every player has tendencies, a good player can read those tendencies and adjust their game play.

believe me: being forced to be at least 12 meters away from them would make this a pretty impossible task against and decent survivor. this would give billy the exact same problem leatherface has with his chainsaw: he could only take down players when he cathes them in an open field. or how do you expect me to get a chainsaw hit, if there is even a freakin corner near them? 12 m is a lot. its half the hags terror radius. and all survivors would have to do to avoid getting hit would be making a 90 degree turn to the left or right and you wont hit them, due to the miserable steering ability billy has with the chainsaw. again: billy would drop into low mid tier at best with this nerf.also, i like how you said that "good players simply adjust their gameplay". have you ever tried to adjust your chainsawsprint when someone 90 degree turns you? id like to see that.

Nurse being a beast is pretty common knowledge at this point, and if a player is new to the game, they generally quickly figure that out—all it takes is for them to face one good nurse to make them go "holy [BAD WORD]." I am highly dubious of the claim that a token system would make the task too daunting, especially since it mostly punishes spamming behavior. I just don't think she should be a god once you figure her out.

i dont know why you thought you'd have to bring this up, but yes. everyone knows that she is the strongest killer. however, only very few can actually play her. and by scaring away newer players i didnt mean sacring them away cuz they think the killer is #########, but because they cant handle the killer. nurse is extremely hard to master and the lease effective killer in the game when you cant play her, so making her even more difficult will only make a baby nurses life more painful, while a godlike nurse will still easily dominate the entire game. a really good nurse doesnt need these fast chainblinks you are trying to prevent. they blink twice and they hit you. one blink for getting close and one blink for catching you, thats what they do. only bad nurses actually use the "blinkspam", because they [BAD WORD] up and need to adjust their mistake, so you would only end up punishing them.
this is a problem i adress a lot when people say that nurse needs nerfs: nurse is already extremely hard to play and you need to think of the newer players too.
and btw, this is the same argument that is brought up by survivors all the time when its about nerfing something like pallets or windows: that the majority of the playerbase is not as good with these things as the person who asked for the nerf claims and that he should think about the lower ranked survivors too.
    exact same argument.

i hope you made it through my own little wall of text (:
pls try to not be insulting in your answer, if you will answer that is, and thanks in advance ^^

No, you're doing it again, your "point", as in, 'no man, don't nerf them, boost the other killers to their level' has been said over and over. And I explained many times why it doesn't matter either way if you nerf or boost them, what matters is the level of burden created by choosing which killers to nerf and boost; e.g. it is more work to boost 12 killers than it is to nerf 2 of them, you clearly didn't read because you would've known that I made this point multiple times. So yes, it is insulting and continues to be insulting because you're effectively communicating "I'm just going to cherry pick the points I know how to argue" even though if you remove its context then it effectively creates a strawman. That part that you skipped over was a pretty important rationale behind the choices, and while you do admit to being a lazy reader, it doesn't suddenly forgive you for needlessly being ######### and dodging the context of my arguments.

The post initially began with only the Nurse and Hillbilly suggestion, it was quoted earlier. Unfortunately, the knee jerk response is to shitpost and admonish any thread that remotely suggests a nerf to these precious two killers. As a result, I had to articulate each step of my arguments and deconstruct shitposts as they came by, and eventually that too creates a wall of text that nobody wants to read through, so I edited the original post to include further context and justification for my approach to the nerfs. It's annoying that I do that to actually help readers, but then they essentially go, "tl;dr stop asking for nerfs and git gud lulz".

In regards to your balance platitude and pedantry, it's a "no [BAD WORD] #########, sherlock" point to say the perfect balance is unachievable. Who the [BAD WORD] tries to argue that? Nobody here is asking for perfect balance. You trying to even further explain such a trite statement by saying choosing graphically less noticeable killers creates imbalance is childishly shortsighted and an example as to why I'm not taking anything out of context. If you notice that a killer is visually less apparent then you find ways to make them more apparent so long as that is the only thing that is contributing to their greater success rate. What a thought!

For your other point for Hillbilly, you are essentially arguing "but Billy might miss because it's hard!" There should generally be a chance factor involved, with proper strategy and skill you learn to sway the probability in your favor. This isn't rocket science. Yes, there will be scenarios where you will miss, yes there are scenarios where then the chainsaw wouldn't down them instantly with the nerf I suggested but instead only injure them; but to pretend that a survivor will never be in a scenario where they can be hit with a distanced chainsaw is being intellectually dishonest. Hook survivors in areas where the pallet loop gets exhausted or in open areas whenever possible, catch survivors that are searching for generators, catch them when they accidentally find themselves in a route where the pallets have been used, catch them when they make mistakes, these are all scenarios where a 12m requirement for an instant down is not impossible.

There are a lot more competent nurse players than you think. Yes, good ones don't necessarily rely on spamming teleports, but they can always be safe since that is a resource available to them; i.e. there's very little punishment for if they mess up. I completely understood you when you said that baby nurses would be scared off because they would find this additional requirement daunting because the learning curve for her is already difficult, but I don't see any compelling reason to support that. The nerf is essentially just saying "hey, manage your blinks, don't spam them," not a level of Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes internalized into a killer.

I should add I'm not particularly ardent on the exact figures provided itself, as they are more or less to convey a general idea than a strict stat. So when I say 12 metres, I think that's fairly reasonable because it allows reaction timing for survivors and aiming for the Hillbilly, as opposed to mindlessly running up behind them and just holding down that M2 for that sweet unavoidable chainsaw instadown. When I say have nurse recharge blink tokens at 8 seconds, it's because I figure that would probably be enough to a blink set iteration of three, two, then one if it were spammed. Rather than three, three, three, etc.

    so in short:
you repeated your previous arguments and completely ignored / misinterpretated mine.
you put words in my mouth i've never said (like this "but to pretend that a survivor will never be in a scenario where they can be hit with a distanced chainsaw is being intellectually dishonest.")
and you dont seem to have a good knowledge over the killer side of this game.

i will not continue this pointless discussion, as you've proven to not be able to handle critisism on your idea.
i still wish you a good day / night, cuz i am actually a nice person
and i will (hopefully not) see you around.

that is the one i was talking about. you dont see the killers aura, but the beartrap in his hands gets revealed to you as a trapped dwight. the reason why he is sideways is, because the killer is holding the trap that way.
every other trap inside the bubble will be revealed the same way, making it easy to avoid the setup around a hook.

  • i think they are ment to be a direct link between the community and the devs.
so they should tell the devs whats going on and represent them a little. the devs, to most players, are invisible most of the time, they are nothing they can grasp and talk to. the streamers however actively play with the community and talk to them, so the little dbd user has someone to talk to directly, who will then talk to the devs and give him / her answers.

however, i do not think that a fog whisperer should be allowed to do everything.
if they break the rules, they should be stripped off their title and if they continue to break the rules, they should be banned like everyone else too. (looking at a certain fog whisperer out there (wont say the name, cuz "nameshaming" and stuff))

I just don't think she should be a god once you figure her out.

i dont know why you thought you'd have to bring this up, but yes. everyone knows that she is the strongest killer. however, only very few can actually play her. and by scaring away newer players i didnt mean sacring them away cuz they think the killer is #########, but because they cant handle the killer. nurse is extremely hard to master and the lease effective killer in the game when you cant play her, so making her even more difficult will only make a baby nurses life more painful, while a godlike nurse will still easily dominate the entire game. a really good nurse doesnt need these fast chainblinks you are trying to prevent. they blink twice and they hit you. one blink for getting close and one blink for catching you, thats what they do. only bad nurses actually use the "blinkspam", because they ######### up and need to adjust their mistake, so you would only end up punishing them.
this is a problem i adress a lot when people say that nurse needs nerfs: nurse is already extremely hard to play and you need to think of the newer players too.
and btw, this is the same argument that is brought up by survivors all the time when its about nerfing something like pallets or windows: that the majority of the playerbase is not as good with these things as the person who asked for the nerf claims and that he should think about the lower ranked survivors too.
    exact same argument.

i hope you made it through my own little wall of text (:
pls try to not be insulting in your answer, if you will answer that is, and thanks in advance ^^
