One week isn't enough time to get important stuff done. But I suppose I could revert the Nurse base power change.
-
I really hope the devs do not implement cross platform play. That would be a terrible idea.
-
Probably Wrecker's Yard.
Nice small map without too many strong loops.
-
You should know by now that this game is incredibly grindy. Always has been.
-
Many of the streamers tend to be douches in one way or another, but there are a few who genuinely impress me.
- Tru3ta1ent
- Marth (back when he still streamed dbd)
- Fungoose
- CrunchyEggRollz
- Brother Cope
- Jordirex (best huntress streamer)
- ZubatLEL
- Otz
- Stream Dad
- TheEntityLeftHand
There are probably a few I'm forgetting, but these guys are usually good streamers.
-
Nah, I don't play Nurse as much anymore. Just isn't the same.
I suggested that the devs hold off on the base kit changes and see how the add-on rework affected the stats.
Didn't happen though.
Not to mention, the PTB was awful considering how much rubberbanding was going on. Still, the changes went live lol.

The best skin so far, she could even rise the dead with that booty.
Her new skin is overpowered honestly. You'll 4k instantly if you have that skin equipped.

I respect your opinion.
Iron Will is S+ tier, period.
BL and DH are extremely overrated, Sprint Burst is still the Superior perk.
We'll Make It is S Tier.
How is Dead Hard overrated? I play survivor at rank 1 and I use that perk to gain extra distance all the time. DH literally protects you if a mistake is made at a loop.
I don't use BL, so I can't comment.
Also, I think Detective's Hunch may have replaced Small Game. The aura reading is much more accurate.
-
*Cries in Jeff main without Iron Will.

Something we can agree on. The devs need to share data with us so we know what they are basing their decisions on.

The devs do listen to feedback but reactionary feedback like most of the Nurse posts is never good. It's the exact same feedback from some survivors after DS was changed which means you also think they should have listened to that.
It's never good to make post after post saying the same thing over and over as it's nothing more than a rant and not constructive.
While there are a number of people upset on here those numbers only equate to around 0.001% of the playerbase. This is why they need time to gather and review the actual data which will take more than two weeks.
To my knowledge, the devs never provided data to begin with that suggested base kit Nurse was a problem. If that's the case, then we have no idea what they were basing their decision on.
Also, you have no way of knowing what the total percentage of people complaining actually is. It's very hard to quantify something like that. So, you can't say the number of people complaining is a very minuscule percentage.
And finally, not all of our posts are rants. Some of us took the time to provide the devs with feedback based off our experience as avid Nurse players.
-
It's a good idea, but I'm not sure the player base is large enough for a separate mode.
-
I don't use either of them, so get rid of both.
-
I don't like the idea of survivors being able to cheese their way out.
Either all five generators get completed and the survivors open the gates, or the last survivor will have to fight the killer over the hatch.
It's that simple.
-
Most of us were expecting the devs to gut her add-ons. We were prepared for that (since they were the main source of frustration).
But many of us were not expecting the devs to downgrade her base power so much. On top of waiting for the fatigue to end, we now have to wait additional time for the blinks to come off cool down.
For a lot of us, having a cool down on Nurse is very unfun. Nurse is meant to be a hyper aggressive killer. If the devs wanted to nerf her base power without disrupting her flow, they could have just increased the fatigue time or shortened her lunge (although a nerf to her base power isn't necessary imo).
Is Nurse still potent? Yeah, to some extent. But not like before. You'll have to play very optimally, but even then you'll never be able to shine with her like pre-nerf Nurse.
Ex: I play Nurse with Infectious Fright. When it triggers I can't respond immediately, which could cost me a hit.
People won't admit it, but Nurse has been chained up pretty hard by BHVR.
The devs should have just implemented the add-on changes. Then, they could monitor and see how that change affects the stats. But to my knowledge we weren't even shown data that indicated base kit Nurse was a problem. So, I have no idea what they were basing their decision on.

Any good survivor team can win though, I bet she also wouldn't stand a chance against 4 good solos
I wouldn't say that. Before the nerf, a skilled Nurse could probably kill off at least two survivors from a full SWF team. Keep in mind I'm talking about base kit Nurse.
-
LF should get nerfed too. He is way too good at face camping.
-
Probably now considering the devs made Nurse unfun to play.
-
It has become a meme at this point.
-
As much as I dislike Spirit, part of me wants her left alone after what the devs did to Nurse.

Are you kidding? Killer mains have been crying about Adrenaline since forever. And here you are acting like a nerf to Adrenaline would be nothing lmao.
SWF and map design are the big issues killer mains have. Adrenaline is much less significant than those problems.
-
You don't. Sweaty SWF teams are nearly as bad as Nurse with overpowered add-ons (pre nerf).
-
In all fairness, Ghost Face is somewhat of a pain right now to play against.
I don't know what it is, but the detection sensitivity for his night shroud is busted. I've literally been right behind him staring with my screen centered, and he still did not get revealed. My detection didn't even trigger, it was like he was immune.
So, I can understand why survivors don't like GF. Although, Haddonfield and BL are scummy tactics. I don't feel bad for those survivors.
-
The devs made Nurse unsatisfying to play. That's basically it.
I haven't seen any Nurses either.
-
Probably Freddy. No one likes playing against him, and a lot of the survivors find him pretty annoying.

It won’t be any direct SWF nerf, but I 100% guarantee that when Spirit gets changes something big on the survivor side will be heavily nerfed and tossed in the trash. My prediction is Adrenaline. Calling it now.
You think Adrenaline is big on the survivor side? lol
-
Not long. About 10-20 seconds.
-
I have played 30+ games of survivor at rank 1, and I have only seen one Legion. And that was because my steam name requested that people play Julie (I've been dying to see the new Julie skin as survivor okay! don't judge me!). So far, I have not seen the new Julie skin yet.
-
I enjoyed reading this. You seem to understand both sides of the community pretty well.
If the player base was large enough, I would suggest separating ranked and casual play.
But since we don't have that, we'll have to rely on the devs to make the right decisions. In light of the Nurse update however, I don't have much faith in the devs.
Maybe they'll change their ways down the road, but I'm not optimistic.
-
I suppose what you say is true. Although, there may be some instances that I can't think of right now where something is terribly unfun but not technically over-powered.
-
The devs need to overhaul several maps. Maps like Mount Ormond and Temple of Purgation are a few examples.
If you get these maps against good survivors, then that's pretty much gg.
-
The devs seem pretty concerned about nerfing the high tier killers.
But I haven't seen the same level of concern about nerfing SWF or survivor-sided maps.
-
I'm sure Spirit will receive the same treatment Nurse did.
-
I play both sides in red ranks, so I do my best to remain fair.
Unfortunately, I'm very unhappy right now because the devs went overboard with Nurse's rework. They gave her a cool down, even though Nurse already goes into fatigue. They could have nerfed her base power in a way that does not reduce her aggressiveness as much. Not to mention, as far as I know the devs provided no data indicating that base kit Nurse was a problem. So, I have no idea what they are basing their decision on.
Not only that, but the devs failed to address SWF and map deisgn. I understand that a lot of people were unhappy with Nurse. But a lot of people are also unhappy about the advantage SWF has as well as survivor-sided maps.
Nurse got sweeping changes, but survivors can still team up without a penalty as well as use map offerings to go to unfair maps.
-
They sure screwed over Nurse mains.
-
I didn't realize it was so difficult to find Ruin.

Yes. I said they have started. As in they've begun to try to address it. Not they finished. If you're expecting me to argue Haddonfield is fine you'll be disappointed. I agree various maps need attention. I'd even suggest in the short term they start by blocking off problematic windows. That would help while they work towards larger changes.
What you've suggested for swf (I think I've seen suggested before) is about the only way I can see to combat their advantage. Maybe 15% penalty for 3 man swf. And 20% for a 4 man swf. I feel like two man doesn't really need a penalty. Though I suppose 10% would be okay.
I'd like to see small changes for the low and mid tier killers implemented with each chapter and mid chapter patch as well. Like let Trapper start with and be able to carry all his traps. I hope the start to try little things like that. Then continue to add them as needed.
Okay, it seems we have a decent amount of common ground.
But here's the kicker: Let's see how long it takes for the devs to implement fundamental change (if at all). Nurse has already received sweeping changes.
And notice some of the wording you used: "I'd like to see" and "I hope". Yeah, I hope the devs do the right thing too, but so far I haven't heard of any plans to address SWF, nor have I heard of any plans to make sweeping changes to map design.
-
After what the devs did to Nurse, I don't have much hope left.
-
The only meta survivor perk that I think needs to be toned down is DS. 60 seconds of pick-up immunity is more than an anti tunnel effect.

Do you use q/e for left/right on every killer or do you just turn it on when playing Billy? I didn't see how to set up controlls to use q/e on saw only.
I only use it for Billy. And no, you can't use Q and E for Billy only. Once you change those controls, they apply to all killers and survivors.

My point was they aren't just listening to one side. They have started to change maps. As for swf, what would you like them to do? Short of removing it there's not alot of options. I personally would like to see the low and mid tier killers buffed. And they might be working on that internally. I would agree there is alot that needs work. But I want them to do it properly. Knee jerk reactions from the devs have always been bad.
Friend, they changed one map (and even that map has a generous number of safe pallets and strong loops).
There are still plenty of maps that need attention. What do you expect a Wraith to do against good survivors on Haddonfield?
As for SWF, they need to figure something out. It's common sense that four people with voice comms are much more efficient than solo players. The devs could tack on a repair and healing speed debuff for the time being. That would bring their efficiency closer to solo players.

Do you think I didn't know how powerful OoO was and still is against killers without Undetectable ? I always ranted about how good survivors with OoO would easily destroy any not Nurse or Spirit killer. However, devs used Undetectable as a band aid fix and I am sure as hell they will never come back to fix the perk against all killers.
Then that should tell you something, shouldn't it?
-
@Peanits said:
To say that nobody asked for changes is objectively untrue. It doesn't take much searching to find a whole trove of videos, threads, and comments about The Spirit. I think you're missing the point of the argument, it's very rarely about how powerful she is, it's about not being fun to play against. You cannot tell someone that they're having fun when they're not, that's not up to you to decide.
If you want to argue that a video game shouldn't be fun to play, I'm not sure what to say at that point.
Okay, if the devs care about feedback from the community, then why did the nerf to Nurse's base kit power go through? Many of us who play her regularly expressed deep concerns about those changes on the forums. And yet the changes still went live. You guys provided us no data that indicated base kit Nurse was a problem, so many of us were left greatly disappointed by the change.
Now let me rephrase my point in another way. Why are the devs receptive to the people who want Spirit changes, but are not receptive to the people who want Nurse's base kit change reverted?
-
@Marcus said:

It's still a nerf regardless. And I doubt they gonna do any more to OoO, devs probably will mitigate OoO by adding Undetectable on more killers add-ons.
A band aid fix is still a band aid fix. Survivors don't like them and neither do we.
There's something you need to understand. Aura reading is a very strong mechanic in this game. And it should be treated as such.
Why should survivors have a constant flow of aura reading anyway? You say the devs will mitigate this by updating killers but I don't buy it. Changing the perk is much simpler and would scratch one more issue off the list.

Yup. That's why they nerfed exhaustion, healing, and pallet vacuum. Because survivors were calling for it. Get real. They've nerfed both sides plenty over the years. Pretty sure survivors weren't calling for those nerfs I mentioned above. The devs make the nerfs they do, to try to balance out the game for the greatest number of players. I don't agree with every change they make. But can we dispense with the "they only listen to survivors" crap. It's getting old.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/816367#Comment_816367
Uhh or alot of people hated playing against Nurse. Not just the "casuals" either. Which is the same reason they're looking at Spirit. Because people hate playing against a coin flip killer. Personally I don't give a damn if they nerf her. Or leave her untouched. But let's not pretend it's because of pandering to "casual" players. She's simply not fun for the majority of the player base.
Here's the thing. The devs have a history of catering to survivor mains. A lot of the nerfs survivors received did not address core issues. Another way to look at is these survivor nerfs did not go far enough. How much longer do we have to wait for fundamental change?
The devs still have not touched SWF nor have they updated the maps, which are the main reasons survivors have an inherent advantage.
And yet, Nurse received a sweeping nerf. Let's just assume for the sake of argument that the devs are really trying to balance the game. Why not make these Nurse changes along with SWF nerfs and map design updates? That would make the transition smoother and not give either side too much power. But by the look of it, the devs will be nerfing Spirit in about two months, but I haven't seen any sign of SWF being addressed or maps getting updated.
Do you get it now?
Also, a lot of us were expecting Nurse to have her add-ons gutted. We were prepared for that. But we did not expect them to impose a ridiculous change to her base power. And when many of us provided our feedback as to why the change is bad, it was largely ignored. It's almost like the devs were determined to see this nerf through no matter what.
-
@Marcus said:

To be fair, they nerfed Object of Obsession by adding Undetectable status into the game and they also nerfed instant heals, which were the most BS thing survivors had for a long time.
That nerf to OOO isn't good enough. Survivors still have wall hacks against plenty of killers, which can be relayed to other survivors via voice comms. That perk needs fundamental change. Survivors shouldn't have so much aura reading.
Also, survivors still have keys. They are problematic just like insta heals were.
-
I don't want to engage in this conversation too much, but I do want to point out one thing: Billy has a very high skill ceiling as well because his power has quite a bit of depth.
When you steer the chainsaw with Q and E like I do, there's a lot of practice and improvement involved.
-
@anarchy753 said:

No, they aren't. There's plenty of us killer players that are as eager for broken killers to be nerfed as survivors are. I want a cast I can play without feeling like cheap scum.
When you played Nurse pre-nerf, were you constantly using strong add ons?
Because a base kit Nurse is manageable (assuming all the survivors are pulling their own weight).
The main issue with Nurse had to do with rank 1 killers playing her with over-powered add-ons. And I know that to be true because I play survivor at rank 1.
Unfortunately, survivors used their bad experiences with Nurse as justification for wanting her base kit nerfed as well. Even though the devs provided no data indicating base kit Nurse was a problem.
Do you see now why some of us are upset over these changes?
-
You're right. Playing survivor is difficult enough already.
The devs should just remove killer lunges all-together, which would be more fair for survivors.
