I mean, we've a regular wizard from a board game, a Hollywood A-lister and a Killer from FNAF the Fisher-Price horror franchise, all added to the game before we got Jason.

It's fair to say DBD lost its horror purity a long time ago, imo. Maybe if we didn't have those other things, I'd say Vader doesn't fit but we do so… From a personal point of view, at least this time it will be something I actually like.

I know its ragebait but you have got to be kidding me by calling Arch-Lich, god among mortals and fellow gods, THE Whispered One himself, Vecna, a frigging "regular wizard". I guess Myers is a chump 19-year old with a knife and Freddy is just a creep with butter knives on his fingies.

I've rolled with a lot of punches, but I'd consider quitting if Star Wars came to this game .

I think having to pay attention to annual "May the 4th" celebrations in DBD would drive me nuts tbh

The curse of licensing issues affects Jason strongly meanwhile Disney will do whatever with their ips as long as they can make money

Not recently. Multiversus, CoD, Fortnite, Halloween Horror Nights, the A24 show, the new movie rumoured to be in early production, the new Friday game. All of this is proof that the iron is hot and its time to strike.

  • @BongoBoys said:

So there's been a commotion lately about who the anniversary Killer will be Jason Voorhees or Darth Vader and the two sides have been arguing about if they will or belong in dbd

Personally I don't mind if both come to DBD what do y'all think?

I love dark horse licenses. I love DnD and Tokyo Ghoul because of how much it stretches the game's definition of the Horror genre. My most wanted niche license for a full chapter (not an ugly Legion skin) is Hotline Miami so I really don't have room to speak. Vader in DBD is so far from the top of my list I don't even consider him as an entry into the Hall of Fame of Horror. If that is controversial, I'm sorry, I guess? I wouldn't hate seeing him ingame but I do feel that having a license as corporate and AAAA as modern Star Wars feels like a far cry from the same game that has Alan Wake, the original Ring movie, and other smaller horror IPs.

  • Big fan of this tome because of the way it frames arguably one of BHVR's biggest narrative blunders regarding Sable. Julian is a gem.

  • Given the extra significance placed on both Julian and Renjiro, I think its a very strong case of when not if. Other lore characters, Julian, Vigo, Benedict, Saku, etc etc, are all tied to House of Arkham entries or lore for other characters or lore that can be considered "old" in the context of 2026 DBD. Renjiro and Julian, however, in both the current and prior Tomes, have been given the same center spotlight that every ingame character that has received a Tome has. So I think based off that alone, it's highly likely they'll come to the game in the next year-two years.

  • @Goth_Ghef said:

Please add our favorite emo boy from Tome 24 as a survivor, I promise u BHVR I'll buy every single skin for him!! <3 Give us girls such a long needed male-Sable, we need to spend our money too ;^)

I'm hopeful that both Julian and Renjiro are a when not if. Both of them would bring a ton of uniqueness to the table in terms of OG Survivor Archetypes. Certainly BHVR knows what their doing with a buff, aged Samurai tortured by the fate of his bloodline and a cute emo twink.

  • Blight.

Seriously, I think anyone who is new to DBD's lore should absolutely start with the tragedy of Talbot Grimes aka The Alchemist aka the Blight. Very few BHVR original killers are as consistently compelling and rewarding narratively as Talbot is across all of his stories over multiple years. It also helps that his story will help you understand the Entity a little more and the Realms outside the Trial grounds.

After Talbot, I suggest Doctor, Dredge, Nick Cage (seriously), Spirit and Oni (and Renjiro), and Haddie and Taurie.

  • I love Remedy to death and seeing AW still get support well after the final DLC for AW2 released is a dream come true. If only BHVR could cook up some more skins for our darling novelist.

  • Capcom not OK'ing unique portraits is definitely bizarre, especially since they look distinctly different from the other "Older License" badges. It's unfortunate but I don't expect much more in terms of prestige rewards, the licensing nightmare is probably way too great.

I'm a huge Elvira, Mistress of the Dark fan, and I'd love to see her as a survivor. She has some great cosmetic options other than her iconic grown, including the Elvis T-shirt shirt sleeping outfit; her town fair outfit; and the 2001 cloak outfit. I was wondering how I could put that bug in the ear of whoever handles new survivors and licensing, so maybe we could see it happen someday. Who would that be?

I added a poll about it in the Polls section.

The odds are she'd be a Killer or Trial Announcer like Tryks was. As @MagixD said, she's unfortunately off the table entirely due to the way DBD depicts their Survivors and what they go through.

  • Agreed, grades mean nothing more than time played at this point, it's silly to allow grade retention and progression in other modes but not for 2v8 (especially with the endless extensions).

  • No, it's Fuji Apples versus Red Delicious. It was the same game with tweaks to progression and cosmetics and had functional ingame chat. You're being difficult for no reason.

At a certain point, people would rather he be deleted than changed. Smerchant situation all over again, despite how much of a good place Ken is in compared to last April.

I know there are threads, but I want my own thread. FIRSTLY. WTH? You will be able to see what Killer you are going against? well goodbye stealth killers, it will created massive dc and bot fans. Like hello? Also to see every other team players perks? oh sure, with so many perks I have to figure out what the heck the new ones are, if we need them, why? can we please stop? But then wondering on 12 other perks? and having the brain capacity to wonder to figure it out, I would be stood there with crows around me wondering and trying to figure out each what person can do and why? No! BHVR stop it! We do not need these. Heck I have no idead beyond resident evil peeps and perks and what they are for.

The game has been out for 10 years, at a certain point, not taking the time to understand what things do what and what your teammates could be using is a skill issue. If you're sub 500 hours you get a pass but after that, good lord, man, get it together.

Ghoul is not in a position right now where he's overperforming - we've also made adjustments and bug fixes to a few things, we don't feel he's in the position where a hard nerf is warranted at this time, the revault is now even easier to do, so it should make more counterplay against the Ghoul.

My exact thoughts, good shtuff Mandy

As I said : this would be valid if the Blight could do everything with his power. That is not the case.

Doesn't make sense, doesn't matter. Is that meant to imply Nurse can do EVERYTHING with her power? What does that even mean???

I love Talbot but let's be perfectly honest with ourselves, he'll be fine and he'll still be a menace.

  • Both Afton and the Unknown excite me the most. I've ALWAYS wanted there to be an ingame incentive to use cameras to prevent him from being/getting strong(er). Add on some basekit buffs, Will'll be set.

And to see the Harmless become… Harmful… Fingers crossed the buffs are sizable because oh boy they need it.

  • Ken has been hit with a slew of changes, the revault that just occurred is a huge nerf for vaulting Ghouls, I think it's way too soon to ask for more nerfs after such a sizable change.

The advice would be valid if the Blight could do everything with his power. That is not the case.

Oh no, the second best (if not THE best) killer in the game has to work a fraction of an inch harder to secure downs. Oh the humanity, the HORROR! Skillfull downs > > > > whatever the hell he's known for doing now between loops.

  • Still bummed they didn't touch up Steve and Jonathan, Steve looks fine but dated and Jonathan just looks rough. C'mon, BHVR.

  • @Royval said:

One of my first steps to leaving dbd permanently. I do not want a killer I’ve played for YEARS to be nerfed to garbage 4.4.

Use your power and instead of brute forcing pallets into power downs in between loops lmfao

Ah nice. Thanks for that. I'll sit out future First games, I guess. Unless there's a way to change the colour maybe?

Pretty sure I saw ways to change the hue, dunno exactly how to do so ingame but I did see it happen back in January.

  • Good Blights will still shred but now there is time to punish misplays and the overall speed is downtuned given how strong the power is. Great shtuff, BHVR.

  • I read this as the power itself is having a reduced lunge.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

I feel like the addon that gave haste based on hits could even have been made baseline to reward good play as them, or into the style system gradually bringing you to 115 in some way.

So it's not just 115 ranged killer, something that you can earn if playing really well, anything really.

Also the addons in general are really bad (some are really good tho), I basically have to run bamboozle or haste to stand a chance and it limits my builds. Some loops are just too good.

Agreed, with how much longer it takes to get S Rank and the rate at which the Haste decayed on the PTB, it would make total sense to do a form of base kit speed as a part of gaining style. It is objectively skillful, not free speed increases.

  • Anti-Entity purely for the narrative possibilities. I love the Entity, I love the Cults associated, etc etc, but if we ever had to pick a side and see what would occur (everyone escaping to their home realms or a pocket realm that is "safe"), I would 100% be against that big scary bug/plant/eldritch monster.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

Considering the increase is bringing in more players, I really don't think they'll double the requirements that sounds insane, they'd get roasted.

They won't if they have even an ounce of self-preservation. However, next year? Oh you bet it's going to be doubled if not tripled what we had to do this year.

  • Someone said that the progress is way further along this year because we have gen perks to account for and BHVR (in BHVR fashion) didn't account for the huge increase in progress on the Killer end. I think we'll be at 500% by Monday TBH. Which is a genuine dream come true because that means we'll have roughly 2 full weeks of endless BP.

Watch them panic and do the worst thing ever and double the requirements lol

  • I've always theorized that it would somehow devalue the Anniversary offerings and therefore the Anniversary event. It's the only time of the year across roughly 9ish years where you can get an objectively better offering than the year prior that is fully sharable with the lobby. I wish they'd lighten up on the restrictions for the Blood Moon but ATP I only use the Cakes I accrue the June prior so I can set myself up for success P100wise.

  • @IronKnight55 said:

I agree changes were needed for the blood gens from last year, but having all the blood pumps spawn together on the opposite side of the map from the blood gens is frustrating and needs tweaking. Killer perks now affect these gens as well, so there’s no reason for the spawns to be this bad. Please fix it. I'm just trying to complete my challenges, then I'm done with the event.

I haven't played that much due to work this week but everything I've seen regarding pump spawns is sooooo irritating. We needed changed but we need proper spawns to prevent ugly "endgame" pump camping scenarios.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Because Killers complained. And if Killers complain, there will be changes.

Ah, I see you preferred only going against Sadako last year because no other killer could apply ample pressure given, yknow, ZERO gen perks on the Killer side worked. The event has been out for 5 hours, my boy.

  • Last year all killer gen perks didn't work on them, so this year is a huge improvement. We'll see what the feedback looks like after the event and if its good, I wouldn't be surprised to see a reskinned blood gen mechanic make its way into the base game somewhere somehow.

  • Clearly the first All-Kill chapter wasn't a dealbreaker for you. Sounds like a huge you issue.

  • @Rivixr said:

people mad over me sharing an idea 😭 this would make him stronger as he is currently one of the weakest killers what

The foundation of Afton's design is good, it just doesn't feel rewarding in how fast-paced current DBD is.

Buff the axe environmental recovery and removal time, fix the bugs, make orbitals more consistent and realistic to go for, make Survivor traversal through the doors twice as slow, make Afton's twice as fast, increase the undetectable, etc etc. All of that would easily bump him up a tier.

You're the one talking about nothing but hot air here. You have zero arguments, just random nonsense in a reply that doesn't even deserve a response. How can you be so bad at this game that you complain about tunneling when you have perks like Off the Record, Tenacity, and others that hide your scratch marks and your aura? If you're too incompetent to make an anti-tunnel build, that’s your problem."

"This goes back to my main point: 99% of Survivors—including those criticizing this post—are completely incapable of playing. And no, coordinated teams aren't just '0.01%' of players. It simply depends on your personal skill level. My MMR is high enough that I'm constantly matched with pro teams on comms. It’s that simple. Learn how to use your perks, learn how to loop, and learn how to run the Shack."

"If you're getting tunneled, it’s because you’re simply unable to hide, loop, time your pallets, or pressure gens. As usual, you have no arguments, yet you claim others don't when you've clearly never played Killer and know nothing about Killer mechanics. You’re just another player who wants an easy win. You’re the Minecraft generation—nothing can be done about it. Go back to playing Minecraft."

You're not removing the quotations marks from the ChatGPT response you're generating. Can you tell me a recipe for Earl Gray Cookies and tell me what the Spirit would think of it?

all they have to do to create a chapter is get in contact with the TCoFS cast's VA's, Boxed ape. Create a power idea for Frank Stone/The Champion, killer perks, (possible) survivor perks, and MAYBE a map

From what I heard, iirc, it's BHVR's IP so they could recast the VAs for convenience. At this point, I'll take what I can get regarding Frank.

  • Based on voicelines on both sides, we can assume most Survivors and Killers that are paired with each other sorta orbit each others Trials for the extra drama/emotion that the Entity can feast on.

  • As a huge fan of Frank Stone, I echo this entirely. The Champion is already in the Fog alongside hopefully Sam and Linda (and maybe Augustine), so it would be a shame to not give us a playable form of all three (four). The skin being cancelled gives me immense hope for the future, I do believe we'll see Frank take an OG chapter slot in ideally the next 2-3 years.

  • Don't forget Red Forest.

We've got three (four if you count Hawkins) realms left that NEED a rework from the ground up. Hilariously, my three least favorite realms are all bunched together because BHVR for some reason wanted to save the best for last. If the rumblings are true, Swamp should be up next. Hopefully, they do Swamp and Red Forest together and then save Haddonfield for when Myers and Laurie get their visual updates as well.

  • It's a visual bug since the veins look accurate ingame.

  • He is but still, Nemesis is leagues and bounds more interesting.

  • I'm surprised a lot of people are even considering the daughters as candidates because of how, well, small their impact is in RE8. Lady Dimitrescu, I get, I understand, I wouldn't mind in the slightest, but the daughters are pretty much, well, useless? And save a bug power for the one true bug killer: Candyman.

  • In all honesty, I think we're gonna be lucky if we get Legendary skins based on RE7 and RE8 characters. Not a big spoiler for Village but I mean, the sisters and Lady Dimitrescu are really only in the game for the first third, similar to Jack in 7. But Jack at least was the "main" villain for the game for most of the duration.

Still banking on Mr. X or Nemesis, hoping its Nemesis so we get some uniqueness added to the game.

Good evening to all of you, 😍

I'm a french streamer and DBD fan

I'm looking for the lore of this game, since the beginning I would like to make discover it to France and do everything from the beginning with video images, do you know where I could find that? good evening! 😍

Your best bet is to look up Benedict Baker and then read each character's info one by one. From there, go through the Archives Tome by Tome and you should be caught up. Get familiar with the licensed content and its source material as well (Halloween '78, Saw 1-3, Stranger Things, etc etc). If you've got questions, just ask.

David could beat up Trickster too. He is just guy with head-smasher. David can send him to hell million times.

    And a million throwing knives.

In a boxing match, David wins easily.

In basically any other situation (Trickster has his bat and his knives, David has whatever), Trickster will just pelt knives at him and if David tries to rush him, Trickster will get a knock David's skull out of the park.

You are entitled to your own opinion.

There are many different things that are scary than just a hack and slash deformed giant chasing you.

I really like his story and look. It's a classic "looks can be deceiving" type of Killer. Not to mention the survivors story is incredibly dark. Ignoring obvious warning signs to further your career and sacrificing morality for success.

Really cool chapter idea with unique spins on horror. Last chapter was body horror with Twins, this is more psychological imo.

Exactly, you get it entirely. Year 5 as a whole has been a year of firsts so it doesn't surprise they're closing it off with a total curveball.

    1. Silent Hill - No explanation necessary.
    2. Descend Beyond - First survivor turned killer that we know of and the first survivor from the Pariahs
    3. A Binding of Kin - First killer with two character models that can be used simultaneously ingame and covers the body horror/zombie baby trope.
    4. All Kill - First killer who looks totally normal if you take away the baseball bat and wipe the blood off of him.
