I am sorry you're not good as playing hag. It was one of the first DLC I got, and I struggled with her at first but when you start playing her, you see that she is really fun to play with, it's like a better trapper.
I know it's all a matter of training, but Hag and I just can't seem to see eye to eye :/ I'll keep trying though
-
Found a new one, and I am BEGGING the community to make a male vocal cover of this for the Doctor:
https://youtu.be/qOb-Ha7UaEw(The Dismemberment Song - Blue Kid)
-
Got almost all in the new Tome's first level now, except for the Phantasm Traps and Ruin one... simply because I'm no good at playing Hag. (so i also don't have ruin on my higher killers)
And I dread what challenges are to come in the higher levels.
Basically every challenge that says 'complete in a single trial' is a pain.
Devs, please, hooking survivors in the basement is one thing, but all four in one trial? I'm a humble irish lunatic with a gun on rank 14...
-
i think it's a bigger issue with plague because she has several small projectiles that need to be checked for a collision. :/
-
Compromise suggestion:
More map items, especially add-ons that let you track totems.
-
Also.... now, I'm playing on Low, but on his coat less outfits... is that a scar from a noose around his neck?

It's relevant whether you like or not. You can't have a character who is white on a black person, you just can't. And don't even try to say i'm racist.
scooby is canonically a descendant of and Old One, but you have trouble having a human character be black?

It's accessibly confirmed for those that didn't had access to the artbook, and maybe thought 'Max Jr' was a fandom nickname.

You both mentiined puking on stuff. Does that really work? It always seemed like a waste of time. But yeah ill try that, thanks
Not puke pointlessly:
you can use it as an additional marker when you're looking for survs by puking on gens and then checking other gens (not a surefire method, but works fairly well)
ledges and pallets usually during chases.
-
I can only speak for myself, but I usually do this:
Run addons that increase the time on items and either infectiousness or corrupt purge duration.
vomit on whatever you think survivors will use: mainly gens, ledges etc. vomit on pallets when giving chase (aka, stop and vomit when a surv runs by one, chances are high they'll drop it)
don't use the fountain till you got at least two survs in the broken status/during endgame.
also, vomit on one of the gate switches should all gens get done
-
Similar when survivors complain about 'tunneling' when they didn't wait a fraction of a second before going to unhook someone.
Like, excuse you, but if you unhook your friend the moment my back is turned of course you'll get my weapon to your face. If your friend goes down again, they'll get the hook again. What do you expect me to do.
-
it's not even bait to begin with. this is a serious suggestion. Spirit is a killer with, as said, easily abusable powers. she isn't uncounterable, but the way many exploit her powers when they play her does make her a frustrating killer to phase. it's one of the factors why so many high ranks play her. she's very much an iWin button.
With e.g. Plague or Freddy you know what's coming and can adjust. With Spirit? Sure, you have the sound, but the moment you hear it you are already getting a broken blade to your head. cue hook and phase camping. you see that throughout all ranks.
I'd honestly love to see the stats for DCs when Spirit's the killer.
Also, thank you FOR thinking it's bait, this means you are worried that it's a change that would easily work out :D

Sure, nullifying her power is COUNTERPLAY!! Amazing! Make a 110% killer also have to deal with uncounterable survivors, wow, such a good idea. Almost like you have no other resource like pallets, windows, unpredictable movement against a player who's supposed to be more powerful than 1/4 of the opposing team. Great reasoning there!
the blessings would only be temporary. I thought that'd be obvious.
-

He wore a ball and chain around his ankle for 15 years, I doubt that was good for his leg
Good idea, but I think you'd only wear ball & chain/ prison chains when you are outside the prison walls working. also, though i have to check my sources again, iirc when prison chains where applied either to both legs or purposefully to the stronger leg, which, as caleb is right-handed for all we know would be the right leg (there's some weird neurological connection there)
but how about a combination of both:
whoever shot his knee to pieces knew the other leg was weakened from the chains, so chances for Caleb to somehow get out of things would dwindle drastically?
edit: On a small sidenote: checking out some of the outfits I'm intrigued by the Maverick inspired one (pretty certain it is, what with the ace of spades on the back) with all the bullet holes.
Now, I know the outfits aren't maintimeline, but damn, caleb... two hits in the shoulder, one in the hip, one in the butt.
-
Question we ought to answer first:
Are the killers that huge in-universe or is that just a game-play mechanic.
I mean, imagine how the game would play IF the killers were the same height they probably were in their previous life.

So I was sitting in my living room playing dbd and I remembered something about the Entity the observer said. Now I'm also a big Lovecraft fan and let me tell you when I started to think about this, the more excited I got. What if the Entity is Azathoth?
The Observer did refer to the Entity as an "Old One". If you don't know what that is, the great old ones are ancient gods that roamed the earth when it was created. The oldest of these gods is Azathoth.
Now back to my theory. I have read about the Entity in the official wiki and it is shockingly similar to Azathoth. Both are primordial beings who have control over time & space and feed from pocket dimensions they create. Also, Azathoth is depicted with spider/squid-like appendages.
I might seem a little crazy for thinking this but the similarities are too perfect. What do you all think? Is this just the rambling of a mad man or am I on to something?
I'm a little rusty on the Old One's, but isn't Nyarl....thingy also depicted as spiderlike? I think their lore fits pretty well too iirc

Yes, so it would be even less useful when there's another perk that tells you where the hatch is from the start. Also, the restriction doesn't really work because the other survivors won't know you have the perk and they might try to bring a key.
there's a couple of overlapping perks. But the key bit is the one i'm fiddling with.
Edit: sorry I come across as confrontational and stubborn. I get like that when trying to sort my thoughts Sorry.

Okay but the entire team would know where the hatch is. Also if there was a perk like this, what would be the point of Left Behind?
for left behind you need to be the last surv, right? and this one would mark the hatch in any way, so you'd have to still find it again. but i get you
-
@Buttercake said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/177795/hatch-perk-idea-would-this-be-unfair
What about a map that can mark the spot for everyone? Doesnt seem fair for Killer...
a map would just mark the spot, not open it, I'd say. so you'd have to equip a map to mark it for people if you'd want to do that.

Keys require the survivors to do gens.
i know.
How does this sound:
Mori Change: Ebony Mori becomes procedural:
there needs to be one surv sacrificed before it becomes active, next two need two hooks/struggle phase, last one one hook.
Key change:
only the key holder can escape through an unlocked hatch if more than one gen is still to do. after that the hatch closes till there's only one surv left (if there have been more when the key holder left)
-
@LethalPugy said:
Not until moris get changed ;)
Even ebony mori requires the survs to have been hooked.

I'm assuming no.
Maybe the entity can transform the survivors' hairstyles at their will. It obviously has the power to deform killers and give them superpowers, so why would it not be able to cut or transform hair?
I'd like to see a barber survivor being added through DLC though, that'd be a cool character to play as. He/She would really keep a huge responsibility in keeping the morale of the survivors up. One would like to look good and survive.
Ideally, the barber would be a male since we haven't seen any pretty males in the entity's realm yet. They're either slick (Ace), slender (Dwight) or burly (Jeff), never cute. I digress.
How do you play a game in which Jake doesn't exist?
-
I hope they'll take the chance and not just fix the auras, but add in a colorblind mode while they're at it. It'd go hand in hand.
-
@coolyoster said:
I don't think survivors should depip if they die on the first hook because of a facecamp. I know rank doesn't matter, but it's kind of a slap in the face after getting near 0 points in anything other than boldness. Am I wrong? Or is this something that doesn't happen enough to matter? Guess I'm just looking for some feedback.
Going by what'd be needed for that in terms of code (proximity to the killer and other survivors, duration etc) I'd say it'd be a bit easier (and more satisfying for survs) to be able to do two things:
- if the killer is close enough to kick them and if one succeeds to stun them thus one automatically gets off the hook
- if a killer stays within a certain range the chance of unhooking oneself is tremendously increased, stunning the killer due to disbelief.
both these would simply use the mechanic that prevents PH from making a trench right under the hook.
-
I'm taking a wild guess here, but damn, this honestly sounds as if the OP is upset that people criticised them and didn't get kickbanned for it.
-
I think 9 is rather from Jeepers Creepers. 29 is The Fly i think (remake)

I’ve tried it and it shows the same poster but no list of what’s actually on the poster. I’ve had this poster for about 2 years now and overtime I’ve slowly started to learn a lot of them but there are still a few I haven’t discovered yet.
ahhh <3
alright then (sorry ^^; )
and I mean, I think we're getting there :3
-
Beetlejuice (13) is incorrect, but i dunno what it's from.
24 should be the Crypkeeper from Tales from the Crypt, 28 might be Lost Boys (not certain) and 32 might be from The House
And silly question: Have you tried googling
'Iconic Movie Monster/Horror poster'?
EDIT 2: Did that myself, and while the pages that have the answer won't load, I found 12 is from 'trick or treat'
-
Dwight would be a sort of Chameleon.
like, he could turn into fake gens, totems or chests, grab a survivor when they try to interact with him and either give chase or put them into a sleeping state and take their form. their aura would dim (as in only be visible if you're nearby) and you can pick them up, breaking dwight's disguise. if not, the disguise will break if he attacks a survivor. While in disguise he can un-repair gens, meaning it'd look like he's helping, but he's breaking it slowly.
-
Honestly? They should change the charms to influence luck, hooks, chests etc and leave the offerings for maps and bloodpoints

Ahhh well, maybe that's it... But it's not just me, most Twitch streamers I watch also escape quite frequently and Killer streamers that usually 3-4k even end up getting 0k. I saw both Dowsey and Otzdarva getting 0 kills the other day and tru3, well... It seems like he's having a real hard time actually enjoying the game these days unless he plays Survivor. It feels so different now... no Ruin and literally no one is playing Nurse?
but yea at least they removed a few windows to get rid of some strong loops... maybe I was just lucky, let's see how it goes today :)
well, there's a couple of killers that have been added in the past 1-2 years (as you likely noticed). Lots of people play Spirit now, or pyramid head.
Also a couple of new maps that are a pain in the backside for survivors and killers alike.
-
In case this isn't bait:
There's a lot of new players since the 4th anniversary, lots of them trying to play like they see it on youtube instead of, well, learning how the game actually works.
so, it's a bit of a gallimaufry right now.
-
As a Deathslinger main, I don't get the 'he's boring' mentality to begin with. The best aftermath chats are those on matches where I manages to pull off some trick shots:
pulling survivor's off ledges, pin-point sniping etc.
sure, it takes practice, but damn, people love-hate it.
-
Not going to work. The issue is less what one plays, but what goals people put up for themselves. Lots of toxicity comes from this 'dog eat dog' mentally we have irl, resulting in people thinking they not just have to win with flying colors, but to degrade and humiliate their opponents.
By it's design dbd sets clear tasks:
look at the four original survivors and the add-ons:
map, flashlight, med kit, toolbox.
the idea seems to be to have someone with a map taking care of totems and pointing the group towards gens, etc.
but in practice it's more of a 'how fast can we rush this and how obnoxious can we be to the other side'?
i mean, how often have you seen people get nasty in the aftermath chat because... they didn't even die, but the match took longer than 5 min? how often have you seem them mock the killer if they managed to hook only one survivor, ignoring them all very much killer-tunneling with flashlights.
how often have you seen people throw a tantrum for a killer mori'ing them despite hooking others, when they were nothing but a pain in the backside?
same goes for killer mains. how often did you have people gloat how 'ez' a match was, despite them excessively camping and tunneling and generally being a pain. how often did you see killers bring ebony mori not as an insurance against obnoxious survivors, but just to get 4k and STILL complain how little BPs they get.

Everyone's biased, but that doesn't mean that every conclusion that every person comes to is false. You need a better way of arguing that he's unreliable than "everyone's biased." At that point, I could just say that everyone in dbd is just misinterpreting the Entity, and that the Entity as actually a benevolent god trying to help people deal with their emotional trauma.
Also, I never said that stories are free of politics, nice strawman. Everything's political, it's true, but it's political in the sense that stories are informed by our worldview and ideologies. What I didn't like was you bringing up hot-button issues into what a conversation that has relatively few overt political issues being talked about.
Stories are informed by our worldview. you are saying it yourself.
So, why should the memories etc not be taken with a grain of salt? That's all I'm asking.

At this point your argument against him is that the narrator could be lying, without establishing any reason on why he would lie except some vague, politically-charged (thanks for bringing politics into this, btw /s) declarations of how some scholars have been wrong. You can't just say "unreliable narrator" to wipe the text clean of things that you don't like. Truthfully, I can now only think that you're going to dismiss every piece of evidence you don't like.
wrong.
He's not 'lying', Lying requires the intend to lie.
He's biased. That's what I'm saying. He (is it a he actually?)... They have their experience and understanding of how the world works. They're not a neutral source of information. No story from the archives is. Because every memory, every observation went through the 'filter' of a person with their own idea of things.
So saying that there's no survivors from before 1950 because 'they believed in more magic' then basing that on the understanding of things from someone for whom magic is an everyday thing, and claiming that as a 100% fact, that's what I'm wary off.
But if your world is only either-or, then i understand why you think there's any story free of politics.
