Excuse me but I think you should go to the doctor, perhaps there's a medical reason why you feel like it that maybe needs to be treated or can be treated. Don't feel like I am attacking you or something like that.
waiting list is ~2 years...
-
Ghostface's Thrilling Tremors: Blocks generators when you pick up a survivor. can be used to see if someone's working on a gen. like while tricky, you could pick someone up, and if someone's on a nearby gen (that didn't get blocked by tremors) expose them, hook the other, go after the exposed.
-
pig, deathslinger, ghostface, plague, those are killers meant to shake up gameplay on both sides.
Trickster? he feels loosely stabled together from early-stage development ideas of other killers... the ideas that even the devs thought are ridiculous... back then...

Epilepsy doesn't have to do with lights and colours all the time. it's even sounds and things like that. even a scene that brings back memories from childhood continue into a seizure if yourenot careful
yeah, but it's not that. similar, sure, but not like that. Thing that worries me most? I can't even tell what it is. like, i have no trouble with the archetype or similar characters, like i get majorly annoyed with them for what they do and things, but this... is new.

Sounds like you have a touch of epilepsy
... nope. It's not epilepsy, it's not the colours or anything.

Tbf, I still think that if you're not good in violent or horrific environment, you shouldn't really be there...
This topic reminds me of Elise, from League of Legends, who is a woman who can morph into a huge spider. The devs said that on her first appearance, one guy passed behind a drawer, got spinechills and asked to make her differently, because his arachnophobia was acting on seriously with the first concept. Still, the character give a hard time for the people who suffer this phobia. And I can understand how this is a problem, since LoL is a fantasy game with a lot of colors, magics, cute and handsome characters. You don't really expect to be scared.
But this is different for DbD. I think that would be too hard to ask for changes because you choose to put yourself in a situation where you know you'd be stressed badly. Though I won't say "stop playing" either, obviously. I think you'll have to learn to live with it.
it's this one killer (and doctor, but with doctor it's not as bad, just more annoying). I'm fine with the overall and all of dbd, so kindly cut it with that tone.

BHVR in a nutshell. That should be their company slogan.
"Behavior Interactive - That's an interesting bug!"
I think what happens here is, once again, the animation hierarchy falling over sideways. Like, when you hit someone near a window with deathslinger's harpoon and they still jump through? Or how often people get hit in lockers?
With the new killer you have the absurd 'needs eight/sixteen hits of a very imprecise attack' thing so the game doesn't know what to do with a started animation.
On top of that since the animation update a lot of animation cycles now don't stop when interupted, but end when they're through, which works for a game like rdr2, but not dbd.

Maybe the laugh is a good clue? I tested him, and though I'm not at all impacted in your way, I think I can have some thoughts about it. Now that I think of it, Trickster is the only one who sounds like actually *enjoy* being here, doing what he's doing.
Doctor's laugh just prove his madness (in my sense) and you wrapped up the Deathslinger's one pretty good. For most of the other killers, they're are just too monstrous to care or have accepted their fate as bad guys.
And I think that the fact that Clown sound so much like an old man with a lot of health problems diminish the uneasiness of his laughs.
clown is still very... slimy? and now look at Clown's lore...

Seriously tho who looks at this killer and goes "good job!"
someone who was convinced that the kpop hype would be enough to sell things.
Like, with the other chapters that were/are deemed week there was at least SOME work put into it, if you get to it. Here? It's honestly laughable. It's all glamour and no remarkable substance. but hey, kpop pretty boy and oh-look-how-much-we-engage-with-the-community... it's trying so hard, instead of... trying to actually do good work?
Someone got the 'how do you do fellow teenagers' meme at hand?

The only thing I think that came close was Plague, with people having legitimate physical reactions to her power. However I think this is a big enough concern to take directly to customer support. If this is as serious as you're making it, then I feel like they should make your account exempt from DC penalty on survivor. Also try replacing the Tricksters selection image in killer select, to avoid the visual reminder.
They should make it an option to not be put into lobbies with certain killers. I know some people would exploit that, but by all means it might improve things overall
-
lbr: they jumped on a derailing hypetrain.
The time and resources should have been put into QOL and mechanics updates. Maybe have a few chapters that are just themed cosmetic packs, but not a new set of characters.

Can't you be more specific on what those red flags are? Being ambiguous isn't helping anyone.
I DON'T KNOW what is setting the alarmbells off exactly. It's like... with trickster's chuckle the first association is all those bastards that will harass (and worse) women (and others) and boast about it because they KNOW they'll get away with it cause they're 'famous'

Plague I can absolutely understand, emetophobia is a genuine thing, after all. And a lot of people are seriously taken aback how much Spirit (and feng, too) are sexualized despite being made to look like minors.

Maybe it's the combination of his constant laughing and the music that clash together. They're designed to be as distressing and weird as possible (and imo he laughs a little bit too much to the point where it's just ######### annoying). The voice acting is fantastic don't get me wrong and I like what they're going for, but hearing it literally constantly is gonna get annoying real soon.
But for others I could see how it would potentially stress them out. It does cross into the uncanny valley a bit, and the noise is quite overwhelming.
I think the laugh is one factor.
Like, I LOVE deathslinger's chuckle. but where Deathslinger has the air of a sarcastic bastard who plays fair-ish (designwise, not how some people play him), trickster's just... no.

Like, everyone has killers they don't like, right? Now amplify this manifold and imagine that a killer you 'normally' don't like causes you physical unwellness. Like, your body nearly shutting down and stressing out painfully, without there being any obvious rhyme or reason to it.

They should in general make killers available as survivors and vice versa.

I'm on i think 40 now as well. The challenges were either undoable if you are above or below a certain rank and good heavens it's grindy. And that all while having Q times of 10 min... the only item I hope I do get is the GG charm on 52, but I don't have much hope

Yeah lets have the same killers over and over for years in a row now without having the balls to implent a killer into the game that can provide some competition at red ranks.
Lets be real, If bhvr is not buffing trickster, he's gonna get used for his perks.be played for a week and then its the sam old same old
well, maybe not the same old. he has the potential to draw a lot of hate away from deathslinger.
but yeah, we can likely expect a lot of fake-bad players with NWO, Remember Me and BW
-
Comics would be a good start. Digital first, and then as print maybe.
Issue is, I think, that bhvr might not be interested because at the end of the day the playerbase is too small. And they don't seem interested in doing anything to change that (aka doing anything for gamehealth and variety)

ah, missed the latter then. as for the former, well, i see the point
-
It's griefing if they use it to kill all other survivors, yeah. But sometimes you gotta look. I had a match as plague earlier and I was just trying to get everyone injured at the same time for a tome challenge, and only one survivor sorta understood after I let him go?

Ghostface now won by a landslide.

Part of it is having to design the mori animation to make sure it doesn’t run afoul of the regulations of each country the game is available in. A good example is Australia’s Puritan board which regulates video games in the country.
this makes no sense as justification when you have *gestures at nearly all other moris*

You see all the survivor mains at the top of the DBD twitch directory? There's your answer.
They teach them to use all the most crutchy perks/items/addons possible, and also teach them that those things make them good at the game. They also teach them "anything killer does is boring, but you're a survivor so nothing you do can be boring".
They also teach them to DC on Slinger, Spirit, Freddy...basically any killer they refuse to adapt their playstyle to.
or they teach them that the stale 'loop and juke and genrush' routine can and must be applied to all killers... and then if it doesn't work to dc.

I must admit I don't think I've ever used Bloodhound in any incarnation. Might be time ot try it out.
I've been using a silly HYUUGE TR build with Doctor using Sloppy, Caulrophobia, distressing and M&A and calm add ons. It's a build that really shouldn't work but I've got a lot of wins from survivors just making stupid plays, but in the endgame they're mad at me. Its like they'd rather I just use the boring ol' reliable with Ruin/Undying.
A lot of survivor players are so insistent on the
'power through gens while someone loops and jukes the killer' approach that they get completely frazzled by a killer doing something that makes that counterproduktive.
Just look how many people still insist that Deathslinger has no counterplay. And when you point out that the counterplay is stealth people will be all 'but that's no fun! chases are the only fun thing in this game'
-
@gibblywibblywoo said:
In my experience its from entitlement. "I bought good add ons/perks, I DESERVED the win" or "This player is worse than me, how could they win" is a shockingly prevalent mentality in this game. Sure I REALLY hate playing against certain survivor perks or killer, but I'm not gonna rage at them post game, that's pathetic.
Unless you use a Hawkins offering in which case you deserve death.
Entitlement and an unwillingness to find one's own way of playing. Like, people will watch certain fogwhisperers and take their word as The Only True Advice (tm). So they don't find their own style, but mimic what those people do, and then get upset when it doesn't work out because
- they lack the experience with player behaviour needed to pull things off
- the way of playing has become so predictable that people know how to circumvent it
- all of the above.
Just look how often you'd get accused of wallhacking when you run bloodhound as killer.

Its an incentive to rank up isnt it? how will the new MMR system be any different?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2046831#Comment_2046831
I'm new yet my posts already have more credit than yours do.
It's not. Because the rank is not actually a reward. DBD as a whole lacks a proper rewarding system. There's a lot of frustration and dull routine, but not a real payoff.
You know who ought to get a bigger say? people who go on the ptb thoroughly testing things. that try all to break the game on the ptb and give details reports on what works and what doesn't. not just with new content, but who look into if old content is affected as well.
People who deep-dive into the lore and are able to find things and connections that the devs might not even have intended, all while staying in-canon with things.
But even those don't deserve 1000 voices for every one of other users.
-
So, you are saying that people who insist on iWin buttons, who got to red ranks through playing scummy and who don't want a decent game because it'd mean that they'd have to actually show some sort of skill get a bigger say than the majority...
Look, if america is good for anything then as proof that that don't work.

So you've never played killer and didn't read the full post.
Camping directly lowers you medals and score. It quite literally reduces your bp. "Proximity to the hook" lowers your chaser score.
that is still not 'punishment'.
Because you are not suffering any 'actual' penalty for it. There is nothing coming off it that would make the next match harder for you/easier for your opponents.
The sheer fact that there are people using bot programs to slowly but steadily acquire BP shows how irrelevant BP are in terms of being an actual reward. They are an unfortunate necessity as they are currency, but reducing the number of BP you get for 1 match is not punishment. It's a mild inconvenience.
It's not a 'you will get only 10 min break instead of 30' but a 'you will get only 5 ice cubes in your drink instead of 6'
-
'camping is punished by the game'...
So, not getting more than 1 sacrifice in (IF the survivors say screw it and just genrush and don't outwit you) is 'punishing'?
You not getting to feel great and skilled is 'punishment'...
No, 'punishment' would be the game reducing your BP because you've been loitering around a hook without any other survivors nearby etc.
'punishment' would be the automatically reducing the number of hooks in your next match.
The game punishes nothing. And you ought to do some self-reflection as to why you think not getting to feel superior over others when you did nothing to deserving of anything remotely resembling respect counts as 'punishment'.

In the best case the devs are learning from things like the twins. One can hope.

what do you mean by dynamic maps?
that they'd change slightly depending on the killer and the perks. E.g. a killer with no map pressure would cause the map to be slightly smaller, trapper and hag might cause denser grass/have their traps be a different color, etc. And at the same time some details would change to balance it, like slightly higher obstacles on loops against certain killers, more nooks and crannies to duck into and out of the line of sight etc
-
Said it before, saying it again:
The best solution to things would be dynamic maps. The game does have the mechanics to allow for it, but the game does not seem to have a dev team that wants it, no matter how much it'd improve the QOL.
