That tactic would only work in swf though, solo teams dont have that communication to do so. It's a good tactic though if done right.
Would you actually need communication to pull it off? You can see how far a gen has progressed and if someone's got a trap on, so I don't think you actually need to be told 'this gen is at X' or 'Y's got a trap on'

I feel though that would be a thing that a swf would do but solo q that's maybe a 1 and 1 trillion chance that they 99 gens, but that is a smart idea.
always perceived 99ing gens when someone's got a trap as the main tactic against pig.
Like, it prevents the trap from activating, it kinda counters 3genning (if everything's ready to go PING (except the traps) it doesn't matter where the gens are), and it keeps pig busy. Because she has to 'make her choice': tunnel the person with the trap on, go after the others, damage gens?
And even if everyone's got a trap on, as long as you don't pop a gen, you can go around, search the boxes, keep 99ing the gens and, yeah, only pop them when it's save to do so
-
what i find 'amusing' (note the airquotes) is that tactic only works if people insist on popping gens while someone's got a trap on. if people would go and just 99 gens, pig's got a problem:
cause she'd either have to actually down asurvivor and cut out the crouch tactic, or she'll have 5 gens pop in her face the moment the trap is off (this is something that i saw happen only ONCE, but it was glorious)

I don't like the fact that current Small Game counter Trapper & Hag's power.
SWF can already tell their team mates how many bones they did.
sure they can (see the comment about tallymarks), but here's what I'm getting at:
if SG doubles as totemcounter ONLY people running it will see it.
Meaning someone looking for totems without it is screwed.
-
I'd rather have it they had added a few killer-created obstacles to it, like the snares, portals etc.
it would have made it a fairly powerful perk, but it would have given it more purpose (like before)
Because, let's talk turkey:
The changed detection cone is pointless. If you played maps a few times you have a pretty good idea where a totem is.
You'd only run small game if you were doing totems to be more effective in running these spawnspots.
If they'd add in more killer-created obstacles Small Game could make for a good meta perk because it could be combined with e.g. BT to effectively rescue people from the hook etc

There's not such thing as "cleaning the realms after every trial".
The realms are re-created from scratch every time a new trial begins by the Entity using the memories of the ones that lived there before they were taken (the killers).
Makes one wonder why the bordello shows up only ocassionally in Glenvale then...

And what if rare 50/50s talk about it? Lol. I know im a rare breed but id love to hear this.
now, clarification:
Sometimes killers and survivors DO mean going against a certain killer/playstyle is boring, because it is by the genuine definition of the word (e.g. if you can tell before the first gen pops the bubba you are facing will camp with insidious and pretend slugging makes him one of the best players in the world, that's genuinely boring)
But if someone who plays both uses it as a buzzword, it usually means
'I am aware that I am but one player and not everyone plays like me. But I demand they do play like me so I can know what to do to win before they even think of doing it. It is utterly outrageous that the devs allow that people play differently from what would give me an advantage'
-
Bitter like almonds
-
'Boring' in this community usually translates to (if uttered by survivors)
'I know there's a big roster of killers all with more or less unique albeit similar abilities that all require different forms of play. But I don't want to play different no matter whether I am facing Doctor, Bubba, Huntress or Pig. I demand that I can win in less than 3 minutes by genrushing and looping and juking the killer. I demand the game caters to my ego and makes sure I will feel superior to the person playing killer, without showing any understanding of the mechanics. Therefore any mechanic or behavior that forces me to do more than click a single button is bad and ought to be removed'
And if uttered by killers
'I understand this game is extremely simple in its mechanics and objectives, which really ought to change for the better, but in the meantime I demand the game let's me win a match in less than 3 minutes by slugging, camping and tunneling, and generally abusing perk/power combinations the devs likely overlooked/ignored which give me an unfair advantage. I don't want to actually learn the killer i am playing or show basic human respect to the survivor players, I just want to feel superior to them. Therefore any mechanic or behavior that forces me to do more than click a single button is bad and ought to be removed'
-
Welcome to the forum.
Just so I understand this correctly: You opened a customs match with random players and they got angry for... playing a customs match?
-
He has a very punchable face
-
I don't think we need more outright monsters. The original killers in DbD are a little like the ghosts in Thirteen Ghosts: People from all walks of life that have something someone wants to exploit for their own gain.
-
the changes are.... very Monkey's Paw wishes.
Like, Small Game doubling as a totem counter is great in theory, but in practice a proper counter for everyone would have done better (but we all can guess that their new fancy UI can't handle that)
Haddonfield... that might actually be a licensing thing.
Lucky Break.... sure it only works once for 90 sec, but.... 90 sec is A LOT in this game.
All in all, it's changes that hammer home that the devs don't play their own game
EDIT: as for Iri Head: People that suggested this exact change neglect an essential issue with the addon: That it works in melee range. If you can insta-down survivors without any real requirement, it's not a well designed addon, no matter if you have 1 hatchet or 3.
-
I'll never understand people thinking like this.
Like, instead of using other addons and custom matches to practice to have their throws count and thus be impressive, they throw a tantrum.
Why? (I mean, we all know why)
-
Agreeing with what CornHub said.
If you don't get WHY a certain kind of players delights in donning what's essentially Blackface, you really need to do some soulsearching.
The entire unlockable cosmetics bit was a bad idea, it doesn't matter if it fits Leatherface's lore or not.
-
Likely scenario:
Both iris + iron maiden: throw hatchet, chase survs, reload close by, throw from a short distance.
not even as tricky as it sounds. basically now huntress has an addon to the fake-shots people complain about with slinger
-
The Iri Head should be changed to being an insta-down if it hits over a certain distance.
(one of ) The main obnoxious aspect of Iri Head as it is is that it can be used melee. So just one hatched won't help much, especially with these wraps.
The combo (probably with Iron Maiden, too) is basically calling for what people hate about Slinger's 'shot faking'...

MUAHAHAHA, OUR NEXT TARGETS ARE SPIRIT AND DEATHSLINGER. YOU CANT STOP US /joke
They doubtfully will mess with slinger cause
- he doesn't have the absurd pick/kill ratio of freddy, bubba and spirit
- you people are just salty you can't feel superior with your magnificent looping and juking skills against him.
-
usually I will check them out after the match if they'd been alright.

Ive actually never noticed. Can you send screen shots og the cute teddy bear? :3
can't get into the game atm, but check the 'locker room' in ormond for example

The light on maps is not actual light (like campfire is cold to the touch but can burn offerings), while the flashlights are.
-
It looks so beautiful now.
(though my little cowboy heart weeps at the lack of holes in the railing to pull survivors down through)
-
The best fix to tunneling would not be a perks, but complete new game mechanics. and while possible, it's unlikely to happen.

Mostly you and them complaining about you not tunneling/camping like no please don't I wanna keep having fun,
I mean on the flipside I also had survivors thanking me postgame for not tunneling, camping etc and running any of the common sweat-perks...
Doesn't mean I'm not baffled at it when people complain about me trying to play fair.

I was stunned by a pallet at least once last night. How is it bugged?
sometimes (especially when you attack when a pallet's thrown) you won't get stunned.
@Phasmamain said:
Breakdown bug? Mind explaining it?
if someone runs jeff's breakdown the hook broken by it won't respawn for the rest of the match.
-
why?
Look, if you get the hots for any of the characters you share a gender with and think that's wrong cause they are the same gender as you... Congratulations, you probably are not as cis or hetero as you might think :D
-
yeah, but that's what I meant: Is there some list that ONLY lists the perks and mechanics?
-
A bit more for the Original Killers:
Trapper: Tortured into submission and obedience (pretty much the same crap his father did to him in a way). Mobile Version cutscene suggests he might be able to break free and fight back at some point?
Wraith: Might be revenge, might have been tortured into submission/bloodlust. New lore suggests he might be thinking he does this to protect others.
Billy: Revenge or self-preservation. some outfits suggest a form of... 'i like it i take it, I suffered enough, I deserve good things' mentality.
Nurse: Original lore suggested she just snapped over witnessing the inhumanities committed by the asylum staff and killed them, then killing the patients in some misguided mercykillings. 'new' lore paints here as a eugenics #########, and it's probably going to get changed to the former again. (thankfully)
Hag: We don't actually know and neither do the devs.
Huntress: Self-preservation
Clown: He's a sadistic bastard
Doctor: Likewise
Spirit: turned into a bloodlusting spirit who can't help but kill. her facial expressions at some points suggest she's aware of what she turned into and doesn't like it.
Legion: What Phasma said.
Plague: likewise
Oni: Pride and being turned into what people saw in him: a violent demon. Might be as aware as Rin of things.
Deathslinger: Revenge for being exploited. There might be a bit of resignation and despair too, seeing his story in his reality very much ended with him giving up and becoming aware of the fact that he's always been exploited and that he now has nothing to keep him going anymore.
Blight: If we go with the 'jekyll & hyde' approach we could argue that Blight is bloodlust and sadistic experiments, while Talbot might be the one running into walls in an attempt to knock blight out and take control again, with the injections being there to subdue talbot
Twins: Self-preservation?
Trickster: See clown and Doc
-
Well, if you saw 2 people DC and YET went to 'play normal' and hook the other two...
Sometimes you ought to take a break as killer. Relax, fool around and let them go. See if they got any challenges to do if that can be communicated.
-
Kindred, dark sense and ooo work decently well for this challenge.
Often the issue is that the killer isn't anymore where Premonition pinged when you point
-
Yeah, the new MMR isn't active yet.
-
I will nickname it Scrunchie
-
I'll be calling the pig Scrunchie.
As for which maps are left:
Swamp
Haddonfield
Also:
Ambient-Light fixing on autohaven's needed
And Lery's, Glenvale and Midwich don't have a teddy
-
it all depends on interest and licensing contracts.

Oh you would've hated WOWs' lore now, lets just say Bolvar the Lich King got his ass beated by Sylvanas WIndrunner, he didn't land a single hit or scar, yet she demoted Bolvar to be crowned... The ######### King, not even a joke they made Sylvanas a Mary Sue, and I hated it
I gave up on the game when they started their whole 'yeah, let's screw over malygos and ysera for the sake of raidbosses and make knaak's OCs superspecial important' (his books are so bad Dx )
And back on topic:
By all means, thinking about it, the problem is that dbd hasn't evolved/expanded much since the early days. No new mechanics, no crass overhaul of how perks etc work... and a community that is strangely averse against anything new on top of that
-
Best guess is that you share a name or something with someone they know and they thought you stole their friend's account or something?

The coloring on Autohaven maps. Even with my colorblind filter it is hard to track movement on that realm, survivors have genuinely asked if I'm ok after the match because I was losing them way too easily. It's all just so washed out in green...I love Autohaven maps normally, it's been a shame to see them fall so far for me.
it's the lighting there, too. I dunno what it is, but it results in a real weird contrast between light and dark tones (i dunno how often I mistook a tire or chair for a survivor as killer...)

So you’re basically just making up a bullshit story to try and get survivors nerfed without even understanding how the perk works.
Now you look stupid as this isn’t possible.

600 employees for the business as a whole. Janitorial staff, catering staff, and staff that work on all the other projects BHVR develops. The DBD team is still relatively small, and DBD isn't the only project that BHVR work on, despite what you want to believe.
And then there's the categories for those working on the game. Still, I'd say that the coreissue is that they seem a bit overwhelmed with how remotely popular the game has gotten and seem to be at a loss as to where to go with it from here on.
Comparing it to blizzard is good if you want to point out what NOT to do:
I played wow up until the cataclysm beta, because I got fed up with how lore wasn't continued but butchered and retconned willynilly for the sake of yet another raid, another unfunny popculture ref or generally catering to obnoxious fankiddies.
And as much as I can ramble about dbd, i don't want something like that to happen to it.

In egc: B, C and D, they all down and get hooked. They all saved themself with deliverance but problem is D never had deliverance. Cool story but try harder next time.
yeah, true. it doesn't pan out after all.

@Northener1907 said:
It is imposible. Maybe two of them saved dead survivor from hook (max 2 hooks). So two of them had deliverance power. But third guy is imposible. Something wrong about your story.
*points up* it could work theoretically, but it's such an unlikely event AND there has to be noed and slugging involved

Also you know what happened when they made ricochets actually do something for the laceration meter on PTB? Everyone just threw knives at the ground right next to the survivor for easy value. That's not exactly skill. And if you're gonna say well make it 2+ ricochets then you're just kidding yourself if you think that'll be humanly calculable, let alone physically possible on the vast majority of loops in the game. Especially the ones he's already weak at.
distance. We have it with slinger and afaik huntress' iri head soon that you need to hit from a distance. so... have it be a weapon that loses its power if you are too close.
