I love her idea. A stealth killer that can put bear traps that could snap any second, and you have a limited time to remove them, with the risk of her finding you again, but with the extra twist in that she can be anywhere and you don't know it. The only issue is that almost every pig main I have encountered doesn't use bear traps, and they mostly stealth instead, and when I got to play pig for a round the bear traps didn't feel all that powerful.
What does everyone else think about her currently? Should she need a buff or a rework?
The one thing I will say about the pig (even with Stranger Things around the corner) I feel she had THE best launch week in terms of mechanics, map design and gameplay.
I have never had as much fun playing both sides as I did during her chapter release.

I always assume every Adam has Deliverance, and every David has Dead Hard for me.
I expect:
Bill - Unbreakable
All female characters - Adrenaline (just seems I run into more female vs males with this perk)
Nea - Balanced landing
EVERYONE- Dead Hard/DS (Its just safer to assume)
As for killers:
EVERYONE - BBQ/ Noed (again, its just safer to assume)

Please. With the release of the new DLC demigorgon gets crazy awesome looking hooks. This makes me really miss when the hooks changed with the killer. It really doesn't give away that much info because you usually know who the killer is within the first 15 seconds of the match. Even as a killer, this would fantastic. It's a minor detail but one that was simply fantastic. I know they're dependent on maps but I would much prefer to have it tied to killer.
Honestly they don't even need to tie the hooks to a specific killer, just randomly choose from a selection during the map loading screen.
-
Also not married so I cannot put anything personal into this, but I would assume it depends completely on the situation that pushed you to this point and the type of people involved.
Some may prefer to never see one another again, others may still be willing to develop a friendship but nothing more. I don't really think a question this deep has a simply "one way" answer.

It's for those rare cases where 2 people are potatoes and the conditions are just right for it to happen
You said it yourself "rare cases" so why implement a mechanic that would affect most games to combat a rare case?

With the expected influx of new players soon coming to the game and the Beginners' Guide competition going on right now, I thought it would be a good idea to talk about some of the questions that new players have about the game - if you're a new player, questions you might still have, or if you've been playing for a while, questions you had back when you were new.
I'll start. When I was new, the biggest question mark for me was how skill checks worked. I started I think just after Nea's release, so no tutorials or anything, and my friends did a really bad job of explaining it. They were going, "Press spacebar when it's in the circle thing" and I was like, "But it's always in a circle???" Took me forever to figure it out with their "help".
So anyway, story time. What do you wish you had the answer to back when you were brand spanking new to DBD?
What the actual values of "Slightly, moderately, considerably" actually equate too...
Honestly still not always 100% sure and I'm well over 1400h at this point.

To clarify a bit on what @Chaotic_Riddle said:
It is due to the games data having to be put onto Sony/Microsoft systems. As a result both parties will want to inspect the new data to insure it will not have a negative effect on their systems. This is why it takes longer for DLC or updates to be release on console, because Sony/Microsoft must first inspect the new data being given to them. Each time a PTB comes out the game has changed in some way, and may even change multiple times over the course of a PTB. This would not be an easy thing for Sony/Microsoft to inspect every time in a reasonable time frame and thus just simply isn't done.
On the contrary with PC where all the data being changed is simply using the PC as a means of projection/distribution and nothing is stored on the PC in a manner that can cause harm to the third party hosting the links. It also has no negative effect on any sites that host the links to this data (or is far faster to inspect/less risky resulting in much faster inspection times). Sure there are still risks but that's a topic I know far too little about.
This is a very brief and simple way to explain it and you could find much more information on the topic if you spoke to someone more "tech savy" than I.

I don't have a problem with catching 360's on PS4 but I do understand the frustration of low sensitivity on console.
Going from playing DBD to a game like warframe and my stick sensitivity feels horrible! I really do wish they would double what they have now for the sensitivity side, not necessarily for the 360's but because it is in generally too slow.

I play about 8 games of DBD on a good day, 2-3 on an OK day. Now, should I let it sit until the chapter goes live probably on the 17th, or should I spend 250k of it?
Spend only a little so you can always keep it close to the 1m cap. That way you won't miss out on using them and you will always be close to max.

I like the totem being lit without it being activated, it has the thrill of finding a random lit totem with no known effects on the map and having to cleanse it praying that it is not haunted grounds.
Plus it really helps my Hex Roulette.
But in seriousness i think it is fine just the way it is, good totem protection will help you out and also placing pressure on survivors stopping them actually having a chance to cleanse your totem is a good shout aswell.
Except totem pressure = less/no gen pressure.

I'm pointing out it is a ridiculous story that serves no purpose.
Actually the OP was simply voicing their opinion on a perk and provided a story to accompany this. The post serves a purpose to start a conversation.
On the contrary simply posting negative things (as you did) to try and drag the OP down with negativity or to invalidate their argument (be it you agree or not) truly serves no purpose other than to try and ruin someones mood.
-
Honestly I prefer less information all around.
I'm not a fan of seeing status of survivors I have not directly caused.
I'm not a fan of being given free information as to what Hex a killer has for doing nothing.
I also hate that I can tell when the obsession is being chased for no reason at all.
I like trying to figure this stuff out on my own as both killer and survivor but I may be in the minority here.
-
I don't understand why people save the streamers for 2x events. They do not multiply the "2x" bonus but rather the regular match bonus, meaning it has the exact same BP yield as any other match you play.
I especially don't understand the point of using them during a 2x event because of how many troll players come out to play.

I think that would make it more appealing for killers to use because it doesn’t seem worth it when it’s forever destroyed before you get genuine use out of it.
To make it fair, since it is not noed and therefore not a “you snooze you lose” consequence to the totem objective, the devour hope totem should remain active from the start of the match - just not lit until exposed takes effect. In other words, the totem will APPEAR dull but if it is cleansed then it’s destroyed and the survivor gets the full 1500 blood simoleons.
Tldr; since dh is the only totem that has no instant value and requires the killer to not only work for it but incentivizes them to play fair and square (ie. No camping, tunneling) then the killer should be rewarded with getting the opportunity to make it work against survivors who don’t practice constant vigilance against their secondary objective.
Random idea that I never bothered thinking about balancing (just a quick fling)
Start of match HDH can get up to 3 tokens (works just like normal) and allows the instant down at 3 tokens.
Once the totem is destroyed for 60s (or "X" seconds) you can Mori people.
This way the totem has a function you can work towards should it remain un-cleansed and still has a function once destroyed but for a limited time.
(But won't that make Haunted Grounds useless? No it-...well I mean...LOOK I SAID I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT BALANCE!)

Yeah, I meant the great success zones. :) Also true on the rest. Ah well. :)
Just to quickly add a possible problem, I have had plenty of times where I got anywhere from 0-3 skill-checks on a gen. Its sort of funny when I do a whole generator without ever knowing they have ruin because no skill-checks pop. (Also gets you undeserved "skill" respect from the random who watched ^.~)

I think the current system is too unforgiving. Most killers seem to camp the hatch until they see the last survivor before closing it and going after the last survivor.
In this event you just do gens again. You can have a game where not a single gens is done and yet the last survivor could still escape via hatch. Trust me there are things on both sides that may seem "unfair" but its here now so just accept you win/loss and push onward.

Generators are the most broken and toxic thing in the game right now. Fix 5 of them and get a free out of jail card? WOW, this is low even for DBD. I, as a killer main, am entitled to get 4 kills every trial.
REMOVE GENS DEVS. MAKE KILLERS GREAT AGAIN.
I think 5 gens is fine.
What I think BHVR should do is offer online courses for small engine repair so that each survivor must actually be qualified to make the repair on these generators.
They would even be able to supplement their income off all the fees.

What if it was a token based perk that lowered TR by X% each token? I don't know what you would tie it to but this way M&A would still be a solid way to down your TR by 8m meaning it would not become obsolete from Insidious.
As it stands now the perk (from my experience) never sees play and serves no purpose other than hard camping, if it were token based then you have a goal to actively reach and it could become a compliment to specific builds rather than just a camping perk.
I'm still not sure of the overall balance this could have though =/
-
@Mister_xD said:
what if insidious would reduce your TR by 4/6/8m (does not stack with other perks) and made you immune to aura reading (your aura does not get revealed at any time during the trial)?
i believe that would fix the perk and made it actually worth using from time to time without overpowering it.
That would make it better than M&A and would push that perk away. Very few people use M&A for the increased chase radius. Most M&A builds want the perk for the 8m reduction.

When a killer disconnects in a match whilst you are playing survivor you:
-Lose your offering
-Gain 0 xp to player level
-Gain 0 bloodpoints
-Keep whatever item you had in hand, unless you had nothing then you keep nothing
This has drove me to playing different games after each disconnect because some killers hate it when they are looped for 3 generators without any downs, ruin gets cleansed quick, or just because they got blinded or stunned
It is because DBD doesn't have dedicated servers (they will very soon) therefore the killer is currently acting as the "host" connection that all the survivors are connecting to. If that connection is lose (be it killer DC or a power outage on killer side) then the match data/connection is lost. The game cannot give you want you earned because it no longer has that data.
With dedicated servers this should no longer be an issue.

For my experience, most survivors will always blame the killer for tunneling instead of their teammates when they get badly unhooked and the killer focus on them. It doesn't matter if you slug or hook them, they are salty and will pay that with you.
Yeah if someone is dumb enough to unhook in from of me I will down the injured survivor but not re-hook them, instead I focus the unhooker and won't bother going back for the person on the ground.

I've played this game for a year and a couple months, reached rank3 as a survivor and 5 as a killer. Now, I've never really got to asking this question. I politely ask, does it give the killer any notification? I should already know this silly question, but...
Killers can hear a totem being cleansed at a range of 16m with the sound being louder the closer you are (I'm not sure if this was changed to 20m feel free to correct me anyone).
The killer does not hear anything when a dull totem is cleansed unless they are running Thrill Of The Hunt. If you are running TOTH you will hear a little chime of sorts each time a dull totem is cleansed but you won't know which one.

Hell on PS4 a 4 man SWF is 3%! Hilarious how 9/10 games can be a toxic, bully deranking SWF though. Some people just can’t accept losses and make ridiculous excuses...######### never ends.
Sigh.... so many people spread these false statistics around with numbers like 3% or 9%. When they dropped the stats on use awhile back the developers said these numbers are not accurate and should not be taken at face value, yet here we are with people spitting them out like they are gospel.

@doitagain_ said:
That’s not what they meant. They meant the perk instantly heals you when the broken timer runs out. Your health bar is not gradually going up.
Exactly, I think because the developers first language is French that the way it was explained may have been a little confusing to some. What he was saying is that the "heal over time" is not slowly filling a magical bar but rather just doing a little countdown until it just applies the instant health state "heal". This has nothing to do with the instant heal add-ons at all.

If ruin gets cleansed early and 2 gens pop before the killer gets first hook, majority of the time this is an instant rage quit. This is annoying as a survivor for multiple reasons. One, I just want to have fun playing the game, not stare at the menu. Two, I lose out on potential blood points and pips. Basically, killers are only staying in the game if they are dominating. This is not fun for good survivors. If you do good as a survivor, you immediately get sent back to the menu. If you or your teammates are doing bad, only then will you actually get to play the game. I'm not sure what the situation is like on pc, but this is getting out of hand on ps4.
I cannot speak to your personal experience on PS4 but out of the 20 or so matches I played the last two days I have only had 1 killer DC and honestly that match was against a not-so-good console Nurse, so I haven't seen any sort of issue on my end.
-
I rarely get hate mail (PS4) but after every game I'll send a "gg" or something funny to the killers/ a particular survivor. While typing the message I often get some really funny preemptive hate messages first because they think I am typing up something toxic myself. It always turns into laughs in the end.

Did you know grapes light on fire in the microwave?
Back in 2011, a physicist at the University of Sydney went viral after he placed a grape in the microwave and filmed the fiery aftermath. And oddly enough, scientists couldn’t explain the phenomenon until quite recently. A March 2019 study published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences reported that the fruity fireball occurs as a result of the loose electrons and ions that cluster to form plasma when grapes get hot.

Why are Dbd developers always so reluctant about sharing their reasoning behind their creations/ideas/choices?
Could be NDAs or license restrictions, if they are not sharing it most likely involves a good legal reason.
