The current setup reduces the killers success, which current leadership seems to want. While completely possible, it's likely there will be no change.
Yeah, it needs adjustments for sure.

So I've been away from DbD since the release of RE9, and decided to come back to catch up on some Rift quests today. And my first (and only) match ends up looking like this:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/3FE1J4NB4R5M/image.png
Camera was bugged behind the character and kept clipping into objects, his torso had for some reason divorced from the rest of his body, AND he also kept playing his scream that he does when he loads into a match on repeat.
Oh and I also fell through the ground several times.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/IIQ7OQO6T2HC/image.png
It's genuinely sad how unplayable this game is just from a technical standpoint. There's like a 20% chance that something just won't work properly every time you play a match. Be it small visual/audio bugs, wonky hit detection, or something completely broken like Kaneki being split in two (for some weird reason).
Going from playing other well-optimised and bug-free games in my library back to DbD is genuinely jarring. If DbD achieves anything in 2026, I hope it's stability because I'm over the bugginess at this point. There was a time when some of the jankiness was endearing but these days I just want the game to function man.
This post is so real my friend. I’m not even joking when I say this, I feel like all I do as a part time job is send in bug reports for them with videos every week because the game just doesn’t work like it should.
There is not a single match or killer I can play without there being some form of bug that has to take me out of the immersive experience. When it does I have to pause, clip it and save it just to upload it for later.
I have seen a few of my reports get fixed which is satisfying but at what cost? Months and months of frustration dealing with the issues.I wasn’t impressed with Operational Health Part 1 or 2 because it didn’t feel like they put in nearly as much effort as they should have. I look back and I think “We had a health operation? I didn’t notice.”
I will say the best change they have done was moving the bug reports off the forums and to their third party site. They are getting a lot more done over there which is nice.
Like you though I just want a game that works. Tired of waiting months to years for fixes, balance adjustments, tweaks and reworks. They really need too be more efficient. I’m all for new content and it’s exciting but it’s hard to keep or stay excited when you know that new toy will be broken, not taken care of, minimal fixes, or you fall in love with the OG design just for them to change it.
Older designs should also be an option for addons should you wish to express that creative route. Shouldn’t be forced to play one way only.
Anywho I digress.. Great post. This resonated with me hard. Good to see and hear from you my friend. ❤️💯 -

Welcome to DbD. It has been like this since forever if you play against survivors with brain.
Unless you are killer who ignores game mechanics or have high lethality the survivors can almost ignore you, even if you chase near gens. ESPECIALLY NOW WITH THE PALLET DENSITY UPDATE.
That's why I switched to playing exclusively Billy and Huntress. You can disrespect me, but you will not get out if you do so.
PS: You disconnected, so you lost twice. Not only they won the game, they had fun making you so mad that you DCed and got penalized for it.
Never do that. Just open the gate and go afk.I'm aware of how DBD works. Wouldn't say I was "Mad"…Just not very stimulating gameplay when the gens fly and you can't enjoy the chases..I could careless what anyone thinks when it comes to being "Toxic" at the end.. I dced/Abandoned because the match was over so I went to make food.
Don't see the big deal in that. Saved my time and moved on.

unfortunately it’s a hard balance. Survivors bring things to speed gens up because killers usually bring things to slow them down. It’s a crappy meta.
I agree. Its just super boring. The meta needs a huge shake up.

Uff though game tho….
Yeah from time to time some unholy times can be reached in gen efficenty.
But thank god it is not that common, most of my matches pendle around 5 to 7 minutes (wins or loses)
I agree although I wouldn't say it is not "Common".
This is quite common in my lobbies unfortunately. Overall trials are way too fast paced in my opinion. I enjoy fun chases. I enjoy the search. Its really boring when the game ends in a matter of minutes.

Maybe the bot needed the tonic :p

Let's be honest. It is past due for killers to get booted from a match once their ping reaches over 70. I can't believe that this even needs to be said. You can tell exactly which killers are doing it on purpose because they swing through every pallet knowing they will get the laggy hits. It has gotten to the point that at least 70% of my games the killer has ping over 90. You really start to notice the effects at anything higher than 70. This is just ridiculous.
Some killers back out of a lobby to dodge it so another killer fills in the role to take the spot. Hence likely on a server they never belonged to begin with.

So if your aura is revealed, you hear that swoosh sound and a red icon appears on your screen alerting you that your aura can be seen.
When I play against Oni though, they always seem to know where everyone is once he gets his power, even if there's no aura reveal activities such as a gen kick.
How does Oni know where to find everyone in 2v8?
I play Oni a lot in 2v8 along with Nemmy and Nurse. However, to answer your question. You dont! I just do zoomies around the map checking on Gens. You're bound to find someone out of position and get the down along with it.
That being said when you do get aura intel with Oni its quite nice.

I did specifically offer non-directional lullabies as the idea, though. Even though it still isn't fair or on par, for Spirit specifically, since people who can hear her can tell where she is. Although in that case, it might actually make sense for it to be directional! considering it's already implemented in the game that way.
And edit to reaffirm: this is already in the game in numerous places, and it works. I'm simply saying it makes sense to then make the others match, so people who can't hear can actually play against those killers! :)
I would agree 100% Just a little worried is all :)
-
While I sympathize greatly I am concerned because the visual terror radius on Sadako from her lullaby has nerfed her stealth pretty bad. The fact that her lullaby is ALSO directional, survivors know exactly where she is coming from. Its pretty frustrating. I am worried if we do this with other killers we are going to run into similar issues.

His Guards are not Ai actually. They’re a program. Big difference.

@Brightened said:
I get it- There's not that many killers to choose from, but game after game is Oni after Oni.
It makes it seem boring.
They also gave Oni a RIDICULOUS turn rate so now he is pretty much an easy stomp if he gets a map he can free-run in, which is most of them.
Do not include him in the next 2v8.
I mean survivors are strong too. Crazy fast cooldowns on sprint burst.. fast healing, fast gen speeds, reversable hook states and heal states. Oni is strong, but so are survivors.
-
It’s very frustrating. Sadly this goes both ways. When a survivors ping is really bad I will go for a swing, then “Poof!” They’re gone! Magic trick! It’s lovely…sometimes it’s just bad internet from the user which isn’t bhvrs fault and sometimes it’s the ever putting someone on a server they don’t belong which is their fault. Sometimes their ping is bad because they are playing with a friend from a different country.
-
This post can't be real. The fact you even put a Banner/Screenshot of Deathslinger too…
-
You don't need to apologize for playing the game :)

Same. I was already disappointed when the Stranger Things 2 update (a combination of two updates) provided nothing besides new content.
The Trickster update as well as buffed Crowd Control and Pop are welcome but still, so many killers and perks need an update.
I guess, the developers like to buff/update/rework/nerf things in one big update: for example, we were begging for two years to get Knight's Map of the Realm basekit. They did it two years later with the big update. We were also begging for Twin's Toy Sword become basekit. When did it happen? Two years later with the big rework. I also think that the rework of Houndmaster's addon will happen when they do a bigger update on her :/
I can understand why but it is also miserable because it means little quick number tweaks (e.g make Dredge's basekit cooldown 7 instead of 10seconds) takes more than a year instead of "could happen with this update"/"tomorrow".
Another problem I have is that Worldbreaker mode paused when Vecna carries a survivor which is a great feature but Dredge, Plague, and even Trickster don't have it even though it would be a quick change to bring these "powermode" killers more in line.
I agree 100% and you are so right…Like you said. It just shouldn't take YEAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Its absolutely way too much time. The community has been saying this FOREVER that BHVR really needs to lockdown and in on this type of stuff. Its just as frustrating as the bug epidemic that we face in this game.

Shoot when survivors least expect it and when they are about to reach a tight space like an upright pallet, window or around a corner. You dont have much room to be ambitious as this killer unfortunately, missing is very punishing. So you have to patient and only fire when you believe it will hit
Okay! Thank you! I will give these tips a try.

The Onryo is such a fun killer, it's honestly a shame she has like almost zero chase potential. I love playing her but I don't do it too often solely because she's so easy to counter.
Agreed 100%..Her biggest issue is the survivors control her power WAY too much. Its awful. No punishment for holding a tape but that's beside the point. As far as her addons go, they are just so bad and outdated.

The last few times we have seen official kill rates given by BHVR Freddy has always been near or at the top. I believe last year his kill rate was near like 70% please correct me if i'm wrong on that number btw. This got me curious on why this is the case, is his killrate high because people dont know how to counter him, do people give up against him, or is it something else entirely? I am not making this post to demand a Freddy nerf god no pls leave him how he is, i'm just wondering how he got to this high number that even beats out killers like Blight.
His killrate data was from over a year ago. I doubt its the exact same number. I am willing to bet it decreased a little.

Hey BHVR I see a bunch of youtube videos, saying that Killers are quitting, yet they continue to upload Killer content which is.. well ofc they do. So my question is If there really is a tangible Killer trend of people stopping playing outright?? Could you peel back the curtain a lil and answer if you are seeing a dangerous negative trend or if Killer player count has remained stable as expected over the last 6 months?
I imagine its probably just a minority making content on platforms who speaks to Killers who are angry about X.
I also love having people tell me I am right to be upset about things. But I'm also very scientific minded, so you know I cant resist asking for the sauce.
Are we really gonna trip over the decade line?!?Both of my killer best friends quit the game. They started playing when PH came out. It was sad to see them go. (They left do frustrations like bugs, killer power bug issues constantly)
-
Getting a Trapper on my team or Ghostface. Its GG's. lol
The trapper teammate I had was so bad. Bro only got one survivor in a trap all game out of 8 survivors. It was painful. I was oni so the blood scarce.

@SoGo said:
If you are talking about the gen speed increasing for every hook instead of every kill, you are correct. It should work based on how many are alive.
Exactly! I am not sure who thought each hook state was a good idea. After each kill sure, whatever..(Even though the killer still gets absolutely nothing if they are completely behind on hooks which sucks 1000%)

The main issue are the players themselves. The us VS them mentality and the toxic mindsets are what causes the game to remain in a stagnant state of 0 gameplay improvements, and the newbies leaving in masses.
Sadly, there is not much we can do with that.
This is true too. Unfortunately, a lot of the friends I have met on this game have departed. If they come back its usually for 2v8 and that's about it.

I feel like ever since 6.1.0, people progressively got more and more efficient and boring.
Everyone wants to win all their games. So, gone are the casual games, the silly builds, just hard meta on both sides.
It also does not help that the game is actively being balanced around this. Every update just assumes that everyone is playing full meta.
I agree..100%

How many pallets are supposed to be on every map by default?

I can understand that. Many of us have been terribly let down but how last year played out.
Mandy recently said too that the Dev Team has abandoned the Anti Camp/Tunnel changes as well. Its off the table.
-
Little over 8 minutes of a match. Fairly fast chases. I got 4 hooks all game. Gens flew so fast I had to tunnel Kate out to have MAYBE some chance to pull some pressure back…as you can see that didn't work. Tunneling isn't always the "Easy way" to win.
The Gens just flew. Sure, I am not using "Meta" perks but that's not what this post is about. I shouldn't have to use all meta perks and 4 hard slowdowns to win. I shouldn't have to tunnel someone out either in hopes I might stand a chance.
I generally hook everyone as I go along, but of course I pay the price for playing "Fairly".
Second match. Gens got done even faster. Multiple gen perks stacking with their toolboxes and addons. I tunneled Nea out because 3 gens popped in 3 minutes. I tried to split my pressure. I went after Ace first. Downed and hooked him. Went after Nea hooked her, they had rescued ace heal asap sharp popped 3 gens, so I went back to nea…hooked her 2 more times to kill her.
I even looked at my last game and thought "Hmm, maybe if I had saved some time looking for a survivor that would help me. I think I will put on Lethal." Nope. Sure didn't.
I don't get it. It's like this game WANTS you to only use certain perks or play certain killers.
-
Vecna was one of the more balanced Killer's that released in and out of his PTB. He's in a good spot and doesn't need anything right now. I loop him just fine and I play as him just fine. My friends have no issues either going against him.
His clocks are meant to slow you down as a side objective in exchange to cutting down his power time. Fair trade off if you ask me.

I believe the gen speed builds were a direct answer to the huge uptick in tunneling we've seen over the past year or so.
I.e. survivors are loading into a match with a "do or die" mindset.I see it the other way. I tunnel now when I never use to because Gens move WAY too quickly. That's beside the point though. All of these perks stacking with toolboxes plus the new perks survivors just got for gens. Its too much.
It takes the fun out of chases entirely. My matches are SO fast and over with because the gens are just done. I just get sent right back to the lobby losing out on playtime. Of course survivors feel the same I am sure when they get tunneled out.
Its just frustrating. All the Regression perks are completely getting nerfed too, like why…
-
I see what you mean but that would just be….weird…

C Tier I feel is a little harsh. I do quite well with him but that just could be how my brain is wired. I am good with prediction shots.

@Rickprado said:
My biggest grip with 2v8 is how it destroy queues in 1v4. If i want to play killer in 1v4 i need to wait 8m for a match; if i play survivor, probably will get a Blight, a Ghoul or a top tier killer desperate to win due to how long it waited in queue.
BHVR really should implement the play before you wait in the 1v4. It would help queue and would be a nice incentive to play both sides of DBD.
I wouldnt say destroys 1v4 Queues. At least not for me in my region. My EST for queue is less than 4 minutes on killer and 17 seconds on Survivor.

please reconsider adding Elusive off hook. that change alone would help with the frustrations of being instantly tunneled off hook since the killer can’t easily track your pools of blood and scratch marks.
Good idea!

Legion is definitely not in the immediate plans for a rework or update, that's not saying nothing will change with them - but it won't be any time soon, there's no current plans for them.
Does Onyro or Houndmaster have any plans for changes such as QOL for Houndmaster/Rework for Sadako? <3

If It's 4 charges but they're now totally see-through on all maps instead of most, I'll still pass. But if they're actually mostly opaque I might shake up my build and methods.
Actually the killer can’t see you when you are directly in the fog.
If he walks into the fog then he can see you. It’s a good way to get some distance, cover scratch marks, and shut down auras.

Why not 20? Or 50?
Or you learn to actually apply pressure instead of just never leaving your 3-Gen.
20 or 50 would be pointless hence your sarcasm. It’s just my opinion, but with certain perks, 8 is too limiting.
-
@Nazzzak said:
I've never hit the limit since it was implemented. Came close on one gen one time, and that's it. If you're consistently hitting it, and it's to your apparent detriment, then perhaps you need to change something. Your build or whatever particular way you're playing. I could be wrong but I feel like you've made this exact post before awhile ago? If so, you still haven't changed anything? If you're waiting for the game to change to suit you then you might be waiting awhile...
No, I’ve never made a post about Gen Limits before. I don’t come across it often myself but when I do it’s annoying especially in a close game where I am battling it out with survivors over a Gen they keep coming back to (which I get).
I love surge and eruption together for the big boom, but that’s 3 out of 8 limits in one sweep. 🧹 -

With certain perk combos i manage to reach the limit on at least 1 gen basically every game. Survs will try to finish a gen that was almost finished no matter what.
The changes for gen regression and kicking are doing nothing. In fact, gens are flying faster than ever before in the 6 years i play this game.Yup. It’s battle of the Gens right now.

Maybe try something else than four slowdowns for a change.
Besides, Ruin and Oppression both will not add to the damage action limit (the latter only does so on the gen you actively kick).Who said I am running 4 slowdowns?
